AmakaOne:
For each mach the fee is calculated based on Nigeria’s$207.12 Billion GDP
The independence of associations has nothing to do with is. It’s about the FIFA bottom line which we finance.

Who pays for the training, coaches, kit, facilities, travelling expenses, accommodation, player fees etc? Not FIFA.
So the country should continue to pump money into a bottomless pit because FIFA wants to keep milking it dry in the name of football?

People are starving is in some parts of Nigeria for goodness sake. The money can be put to better use that lining Sepp Blatters pocket.!!

Our president and government need to stand up against this European hegemony. We don't even have a real voice in FIFA despite the millions of dollars we pump in.

angry  angry

I am on my way to the Ghana game right now in JHB. Will post pics soonest!!
If the argument is really about bottomless pit, starving people, European hegemon
should we be spending N16b on 50th anniversary
Should legislators, most of whom belong to the PDP which GJ controls be askling for salary increase

Are we fighting FIFA? Are we saying that after 2 years that we will not contribute to FIFA again?
How much do we spend on sports?
And how much will the Abuja airport expressway cost us?
same goes for other sectors?
BTW, how much do we pay to Ecowas, AU where a lot of the countries do not like us
How much do we contribute to the UN where our soldiers are fighting all the time in peace keeping opts

Are we fighting NFF - EFCC is the legitimate weapon?
Are we trying to stop Lulu from contesting again? - EFCC can do that
Are trying to imrove the standard of soccer - more internationally friendly is the answer, not withdrawing into a cocoon

I know the arrest and prosecution of a corrupt office holder will not be an interference.
But look at the boldened quote from you.
Isn't it an Interference or probably an imposition?
Sincerely, this matter is very simple
Lulu said he would not sack Amodu
Gov Amaechi said he should
He pointed out to him that failure to do so would amount to defying the president
Lulu complied. FIFA did not say anything

Insofar as virtually every public official is corrupt
He could give all the NFF electoral candidates he does not like the Ogbulafor treatment

But we will regret it when the government begins to interfere very very negatively
do we remember how Obj removed Fola Adeola from national pension commission?

is FIFA financing super eagles or government of Nigeria?
FIFA never wanted anything good for Nigeria, this is best decision president Jonathan has taken in the interest of Nigerians.
They can go to places, we will reapply when we are ready.
what an arrant nonsense and insult, giving Federal Republic Of Nigeria president 48 hours ultimatum or maybe Blatter and his other bigots meant to say after 48 months otherwise, the guy is slowpoke.
Prove it. Yaradua told FIFA that we could not host the u-17 event because of the bill
FIFA allowed us to change our minds
Even when we did not look like we had facilities ready, they kept faith with us
They made numerous visits while other countries kept asking them to dump us and allow them host
Please be fair
oisehumen:
Sometimes i find it laughable when FIFA says government should not interfere in football matters. That can happen in developed countries where the FAs are financially independent. Nigerian government sponsors our FA and football100%. So, how will u expect the government not to interfere and intervene? U mean the government should fold its hands and watch some idiots ruin our game and empty the treasury all in the name of FIFA's rule of this and that?   angry angry angry angry angry angry. Long hisssssssssssssssssssss

Somebody, please educate me on this oooooooooooooooooooooo huh huh huh huh huh huh
FIFA rules allow you to jail corrput FA officials
EFCC can move in
But you cannot just wake up and and sack them for no clear reason

I hope you are married.

I wonder how you will behave if your hard earned money you gave to your spouse to cook a good meal for you turn to be a poisonous meal. You will eat it after all you just funded it.

FIFA is an association. We have withdrawn from the association's activities, when we are ready, we will go back. chikina, freedom of association - free to exit and free to enter.
FIFA rules allows you to prosecute corrupt FA officials
FIFA did not ban us when EFCC said it was investigating Glen Hoddle's allegation
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2010/mar/18/glenn-hoddle-nigeria-police-investigation

But you cannot just remove them
And there is a reason for this
Political interference often destroy things - Nitel, NNPC (how many GMD in the last 5 months?)
We suddenly believe that government is the sole agent of good - compare Nitel to MTN

If we allow political interference of this kind under Johnathan, what happens under a thoroughly corrupt government - burial of our sports

Nigeria - a country with 150 million population. Unfortunately, the same 150 million presidents rules the country. Or why cant we just allow GJ to be the president he is and allow him to work.

Let FIFA ban us if need be and we would know its for a cause of football sanity in the country. Who would loose afterall? Is it not the NFF cabal? I read some pleading for the youth. Have they ever paraded our best footballers? Is it not their people they call?

Lets wait and see. Are we not the ones that call for revolutions all the time? Why then are we scared of FIFA ban even if it last 5 years.
Ok, who has interfered in the privatisation of NItel - It has been on since 2001
What has the government done with the free hand on that
We were promised 6,000MW by Dec last year. GJ was the chairman of the committee
We did not interfere, but no performance
GJ himself promised a power sector masterplan
He set the deadline, he has missed by 6weeks
so every time the government takes a wromg decision, we all suffer
BTW, he says he is a civilian president
So nobody should ask us to shut up when we are unhappy

Incidentally, does he listen to us? and you call this a revolution
Legislators in his own party are daily asking for salary increase while people are starving

Where are the saints that would sanitise our football system
Most of the people that are coming in are corrupt

This is the evidence that we require to nail NFF without attracting FIFA ban

Those senators saying, "we have done nothing, there is nothing to celebrate,, " should be impeached with immediate effect, that statement shows they are not capable to occupy a position in the senate. For christ sake, these men earn millions of naira without yielding any result. Isn't it better to celebrate our weakness and disgrace than giving it out to some dirty old men?
1. Bankole and some of his fellow legislooters are not old men
2. Actually, we can find a way of putting the money to good use
Just give the money to centres caring for HIV positive people and ask them render account
Our HIV positive programme in Nigeria is currently being funded by the Americans, actually since the time of President Bush
Nigeria has done virtually nothing to contribute to the continuation of the programme inspite of the Americans notification of their intention to cut down spending

N10b can cater for the total current costs of testing, free drugs for HIV patients as well as the breast milk substitute for HIV-positive nursing mothers
If the money is put into the account which the Americans currently use, we can ensure that the dirty men, old and young, do not touch it

We never complained about it
I believe that FIFA must enforce its rules as they currently stand

Here in Nigeria, people have been agitating that Johnathan should not appoint INEC chairman
That he should follow the recommendation of the Uwais panel on the matter

Johnathan argued, and rightly, that he has to follow the law, as it currently stands (no matter how much we dislike the idea of a player appointing an umpire - INEC chairman)

Mock exams are for a purpose - it has been demonstrated that people who take mock seriously actually pass more than those who don't

Where in the history of this country and this man have you seen a methodical approach to issues
Look, NFF announced that they would speak with some coaches early in the year
None of those announced got the job

While Nigerians were debating the list, the Turks went after and got the signature of Guus Hiddink who was on the list
That is the Nigerian (and so far Johnathan's) way - drama, but no action

And because of NFF, he is banning the u-21 boys who should be taking over like the Chilean boys who defeated us in 2007

The BAN is the only chance to even attempt to do anything differently. Otherwise Sani Lulu will elect himself and hold the whole country to ransome based on some FIFA regulation. Why can't some of us in Nairaland reason?

The ban will not guarantee change or better fortunes, but it is the only choice to change things. The FIFA regulation was designed for societies where people have shame and where people resign if found corrupt. It is not designed for Africans. Sani Lulu will never give way for change to happen.

All this one folks are talking, the way the PTF are being decisive about this tells me somebody in FIFA may have given Government a nod to do this. Keep in mind that Lars Lagerback for some reasons lodged a copy of his contract with FIFA and so FIFA may be aware of the shenanigans that goes on in Nigeria. So folks chill.

It is also possible to flush Sani Lulu and co out, hand football to ex-players who may know what they are doing, re-organise the structure of the local league and 12 months down the line, re-apply to re-join FIFA meanwhile Sani Lulu may be cooling his backside in jail if he does not play ball.
It is rude to say that people who disagree with you cannot reason

It began virtually the instant President Goodluck took over from the long dead and entirely worthless Ex-President Yar Adua, with lights and electrical appliances flickering to life all over Nigeria for the first time in the living memory of any person less than 30 years old, and now, there flows near 24-hour stable electrical power over vast, long forgotten swathes of a land formerly condemned to permanent darkness, "
Nairaland GeneralRe: Do We Have Respect For Privacy? by truly: 8:41am On Jun 26, 2010
Ther is nothing like NATIONAL SECURITY in Nigeria!

So where is this stramge notion of privacy coming from
The Nigerian economy is dominated by foreigners
People are going to be talking about competition, market forces etc

But let us open our eyes
They are asking us to register SIM cards now, with what?
Biometrics - fingerprint, eyescan (I don't know which exactly)
But for me to hand that over to a private company with its headoffice in a foreign country?
Can all of that information not land in somebody's laptop computer on the way to UAE (Etisalat), SA (MTN) or India (Bharti/Zain)

Where is the privacy?
We remember what the Israelis did in Dubai recently

There was a rumour that at the height of the economic crisis, the Russians asked the Chinese to join in massively selling dollars
That would have crashed the dollar
Why do we think people cannot engage in economic warfare

But this is Nigeria. As soon as there is a Washington consensus (or is it Washington directive),
we adopt it without considering the national long term implications

My other advice; line every person in NFF agains a wall. it does not matter which wall and shoot them. blow them all to hell. BASTARDS.
What did Westerhof achieve after leaving Nigeria - virtually nothing

Excerpts

"It is not the Orange Revolution that took place in Ukraine in 2004 and 2005. Neither is it the Red Shirt Brigade protests that lasted for about three months in Thailand this year. But across Nigeria, in coffee bars, beer parlours, gatherings under trees, school playgrounds and even libraries, Nigerians are beginning a silent revolution against their representatives at the National Assembly.

The groundswell of discussion among them is centering on the huge cost of running a democracy that is adding no real value to their lives, yet enriching the assemblymen beyond imaginable and acceptable proportion. They are beginning to make sense of the colossal amount of money that is being expended on the upper and lower chambers of the National Assembly, where senators and members of the House of Representatives reportedly take home up to N351 million and N147 million per person respectively. Overall, the National Assembly is projected to cost a whooping N138 billion, according to the 2010 budget.

But with the budget already passed and signed into law, senators and House members began fresh moves to push quarterly allowances to N100 million and N45 million per person respectively. BusinessDay now understands that the assemblymen and women have settled for N60 million and N45 million per senator and House member respectively. It is this that is particularly seen as unwholesome and as sign of the disconnection with the larger Nigerian public. And protesting Nigerians are irked because tens of millions of them have to daily do the grind to make ends meet.

One e-mail circulating among Nigerians on the internet and seen by BusinessDay made the following poignant case against the pay and allowance regime the assemblymen and women are appropriating for themselves: “Salary and allowances of the U.S. President is (sic) $250,000 per year; US GDP is about $13 trillion per year. Nigeria’s GDP is about $175 billion per year.

“They want to approve more for themselves. Whilst doctors, teachers and civil servants can’t boast of N1 million a year, these guys want N30 million every month. Say no to this open looting of Nigeria. We can’t allow this to continue otherwise we don’t have any rights to complain.” "

Continuity is the objective of sports - the stupid swedish Football Federation that  sacked largeback do not know that
I have a better idea - let us actually show more seriouness in this regard and hire these guys as his assistants
- Domenech of France and Guen of Cameroon

They are telling me about continuity, the players could not rise to the ocassion etc
So the 5month contract was a ruse to smuggle in a coach who could not secure one world cup ticket from 13 available to 53 countries
Amond the 53 countries are territories like Faroes Island (pop 50,000) and San Marino (pop 30,000), Andorra (pop 85,000)

Did the coach rise to the ocassion of the red card?

I don't blame Largerback.

Its the Super Vultures fault that they did not win.
So were these players not "Super Vultures"  when he took the job?
He knew the situation
He got his job because people complained about Amodu
And he should rightly lose it when people are complaining
I know Amodu's achievements (luck, juju, tactlessness or whatever) with the Eagles (2 world cup tickets)
I don't know his with Eagles
He should be a man of honour. 5-month contract expires after 5months
Is that too much to ask?
Or the 5-month thing was a trick to sneak him in for a longer period
Sweden was fed up with him
It is our turn to be fed up with him

There are a lot of crazy people in this country
But let them kill one person and nobody willl play for the Eagles again
The assassins will now have to travel to Europe to kill players who refuse to play for eagles
