You can't give a tax credit to a company that is not operational. Dangote received a lot of tax credits. Even Oando which posted N133 billion lost in 2020 received N170 billion in tax credit.

Government is an investor in the Dangote refinery. FG acquired 20% via NNPC.

Another issue, is the fact that the Federal Government does not have money to invest in capital expensive projects. What is our foreign reserves? Our estimated fuel subsidy expenses for this year alone is N5 trillion. That is the money we should be using to finance new infrastructure projects, etc.

What led to this issue was the fact that he had to construct most of what they needed. He built a port specifically for the refinery after they discovered Nigerian ports can't take delivery of most of the huge equipment they need.

Those were not budgeted for. He also constructed several roads. One is over 131 km. Also, this explains why he sold 20% to Federal Government. Dangote needs this additional N300 billion to complete the project.

Good day Nairalander. I'm single, 30 years old. I studied agriculture related course at University level, and I presently worked in that field and I earned about 120k monthly.

I feel unfulfilled and I'm lacking interest day after day. The unfulfillment brewed mostly from my bosses egoistic and narcissistic approach to his employee, the insane working hours, and the lack of liberty, and most importantly, I feel I could do better. Now I have a meagre 2 million naira saved up, small? I know. Buy I'd like to pursue my passion in tech albeit from ground zero.

Now my dilemma is:

1. Seeing that I'm old and already past my prime for a career change at 30 yrs old, does a pursue of another career make sense?

2. Knowing that 2 million is small and would not last long. Does is it make sense to just up and leave?

3. I have a small biz I ideal which I feel could give me close to 50k monthly, but thing is, this is Nigeria and I might be wrong.

4. Should I just suck it up and continue for another year or two? Everyone I asked seems to think I should.

P,S. I worked 12 hours a day and its impossible I merge the two together.

Bro, you work 12 hours in another man's job but don't have at least two to three hours to spend on your dream. You are not tired but uninspired.

Spend two to three hours a day on IT courses like UI/UX, Digital Marketing, Data Analysis, Programming, etc for the next 6 months then decide if you want to push it. If yes, resign and spend day and night on it for another 6 months, ensure to build your portfolio while at it.

Start applying for entry-level jobs, home and abroad.

You are underestimating the west. More than 15 US top oil producers are fighting to supply directly to Europe as we speak.

Similarly, US is considering lifting sanction on Venezuela. Russia total crude oil production per day is not even up to 11 million barrels so?
