You have a good point there.

Christianity EtcRe: Marrying A Divorcee And Divorce Is A Sin. Why Are The Jw's Encouraging It? by truthislight:
vickyO: Nope, you're twisting it. Believers are not to divorce but are free to separate. but if a believer marries an unbeliever, they can divorce if the unbeliever choose to go.
The law of Yahweh is perfect to those that keep them.

The bible says that Adulterers will not inherit the kingdom of God. (very seriouse thing).

If we go by your reasoning, it then means that a christian gets into marriage and one of the partner becomes promiscuous and sleeps around with different persons and the innocent partner is aware and cannot divorce because of your understanding, and the unfaithful partner picks up HIV and gives to the innocent mate, who is to be blamed ?

By your reasoning, God ofcouse!

Is God not the originator of marriage ?

But the "laws of God are perfect, making the inexperince ones wise" and gives protection.

Were then is the protection ?

Will you people drop human logic ?

Someone that God has rejected from his kingdom (unless he changes) is the same person you think God said a faithful christian should remain in bondage and prison with on the basis of misapplied scriptures ?

You have to say that what Jesus said is in reference to unmarried people, are you drunk ?

I just hate the stupidity of people that over steped the scriptures.

They imagined they are wise but have turned foolish.

You dont even know that that law protects and encourages chasetity in marriage and creat value in it and appreciation, if you love your partner and dont want to lose her, you will not take chances with her love, but remained faithful to her and not take liberty that she cant leave.

Smh, the fear of God is the bigining of wisedom, no wonder people that are married are playboy around town, because they know that their "christian" wife 'cant' go.

Good for you people.

Is that how you obey Jesus command to go and make disciples of people ? By telling them that the bible should not be trusted ?

Better dont post nonsens here again.
Christianity EtcRe: Hell Fire: The Most Repulsive Concept In The Bible by truthislight: 10:30am On Nov 27, 2013
frosbel: first off, you have opened a can of worms, I am glad you used the word grave , because most places where Hell is used, the reference is to the grave and not to a mythical place of fiery torment. You cannot use the word HELL as the grave when it suits you and then use it to mean something else when it does not suit you , may i suggest you use a lexicon in the future to lend some conformity to your stance.

Hell in 95% of cases always refers to the grave like you rightly said , either as Sheol in the old testament where both the wicked and righteous descended after death , but also Hades in the new testament , a Greek concept by the way , where the wicked departed after death.

To give you a clue about the fallaciousness of the rich man and Lazarus parable, the Hell used here actually means Hades which again represents the grave or state of death not a place where spirits go to after death.

"In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side." - Luke 16:23

Jesus was definitely not referring to Hades when he said :

"And if your eye causes you to stumble, gouge it out and throw it away. It is better for you to enter life with one eye than to have two eyes and be thrown into the fire of hell." - Matthew 18:9

Hell here is γέεννανd in Greek and pronounced geennan and spelt Gehenna in English language. What does Gehenna mean though ? Lets go to strongs dictionary for answers :

Gehenna, a valley W. and S. of Jer. , also a symbolic name for the final place of punishment of the ungodly.

Gehenna is the place of destruction of the wicked at the end times after the resurrection.

To recap :

- There are 4 interpretations of Hell :

i. Hades ( gravedom - Greek )
ii. Sheol ( gravedom - Hebrew )
ii. Tartarus ( prison for fallen angels - Greek )
iv. Gehenna ( Lake of Fire - Greek )

The information is available if you take the time to study with a concordance and lexicon.

Everlasting means the life of an age for example, check it up - you can get a lexicon here - http://biblehub.com/

The lake of fire talks about destruction, in fact death itself will be destroyed which means death will forever be abolished.
A little addition to that ^ is that, during Jesus time on earth, this Gehenna was a refuse dump outside the walls of Jerusalam.

So, it was a symbolic place.

Peace
Christianity EtcRe: Hell Fire: The Most Repulsive Concept In The Bible by truthislight: 10:14am On Nov 27, 2013
NativeBoy: I might even understand if those phrases show up in one place but they don't. They show up over and over. So my question to you is, how are you able to twist the meaning of words like "eternal", "forever and ever", and "everlasting". Did these words all of a sudden lose their meaning?
Those words ehphersisis the seriouseness of the destruction, that it is for all eternity.

Like the smoke or the distruction of sodom of gomorah and its fire burning for ever and ever even though there is no literal fire there now.

But the fire burning for ever and ever shows that that destruction is everlasting and symbolises everlasting destruction.

Peace.

Ok.

Lets see what it says:

"Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you alway, even unto the end of the world. Amen." (Matthew 28:19-20).

So, can you show me the Infallibility of the Pope in that scripture ?

Christianity EtcRe: Defend Catholic Teachings Here by truthislight: 9:51am On Nov 27, 2013
Enigma: And it continues; it doesn't stop --- at least not yet!

The "dogmatic definition" says further that it was fitting that Mary* should be

"so completely free from all taint of original sin that she would triumph utterly over the ancient serpent."

And if Roman Catholics still deny that their organisation or denomination makes Mary co-mediatrix, here is another thing that the "dogmatic definition" document says:

"... in her who, with her only-begotten Son, is the most powerful Mediatrix and Conciliatrix in the whole world; in her who is the most excellent glory, ornament, and impregnable stronghold of the holy Church; in her who has destroyed all heresies and snatched the faithful people and nations from all kinds of direst calamities; in her do we hope who has delivered us from so many threatening dangers."

I thought the bible says it is only "one" name under heaven and no other that can reconcile man and God ?

POPE II: We have heard your concerns, our brethren answered you, yet you keep insisting .since you refused to open your minds and embrace the Holy Catholic church can you move on ? Or the word Catholic gives you heavenly feelings? Look we tried to help you but if you already have your opinions or have already made your minds, why not leave people who don't want anything to do with you ?
Where did you show evidence for Pope's infallibility from scriptures ?

I have been asking you all along, but no one has answered it.
Christianity EtcRe: Defend Catholic Teachings Here by truthislight: 9:02am On Nov 27, 2013
Enigma: Again from that "immaculate conception" document we read:

"... after Christ, we find in Mary the end of the law and the fulfillment of the figures and oracles."

grin grin grin

And again I say: infallible ko, mumuness ni!

Hehehehe. grin

you cant be seriouse!

I cant dignify such with a comment. Smh for Pope infallibility.

God forbid that i should be a part of lawlessness.

My life is mine, i want to save it.

POPE II: Your temperature rises anytime you hear or read the word Pope ah ah, dude he does not know you and doesn't care about you , your insults are useless, worthless and meaningless. People tried before you and they will keep doing it after you . So save your breath when it is still time okay? You can destruct the papacy
if your pope is lawless, what becomes of you ?

If a blind man leads a blind man what will happen ?

Well, its your life.
Christianity EtcRe: Defend Catholic Teachings Here by truthislight: 8:51am On Nov 27, 2013
It is then your words against that of Jesus.

POPE II: JESUS can't reject his children and what he created. Try again
"Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in your name? and in your name have cast out devils? and in your name done many wonderful works? And then will I profess to them, I never knew you: depart from me, you workers of lawlessness." (Matthew 7:22-23).

You are on your own.

Enigma: "Infallible" "pope":

"Adam, the father of mankind, looked to Mary crushing the serpent's head ...."

versus

Genesis 3

15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your off spring and hers; he will crush your head, and you will strike his heel.”

grin grin grin
Is that ^ the way they interprets that prophesy of the seed of the woman ?

Oh. It is marry that is now 'the seed' and not Jesus that will bruis the head of the serpent ?

Smh.

Even a baby can see the blindness then. I think i can remember seeing a pictoral image of a woman standing on the head of a drawing of satan with a sword.

So, that is one of the "infallible" teaching ? Smh

Glory to Jesus ,honour to Mary .
My friend, hear what Jesus says:

BTW, why do you care? Like for real how does it affect you ? Can you leave us alone ?

Should you not care that you dont have evidence for your infallibility doctrine ?

He will do well to come out and give evidence for the doctrine of infallibility.

woky: Good question.
It is going to be a very foolish question if you dont give us scriptural backing for it.

Or, are you a lawless bunch ? That you can do whatever you like and call it tradition ?

Where does tradition start where does it end ?

Is it an open cheque to do whatever one likes ?

Dont you know that if it is not the expressed will of the father it is lawlessness ?

So, better validate it as scriptural.

Ubenedictus: What are you talking about? what do you understand by the infallibility of the pope?
"Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father which is in heaven. " (Matthew 7:21).

So, which directive of the heavenly father did you get this infallibilty doctrin from ?

Anything not from God in his faith is 'lawlessness'.

Ubenedictus: This thread can give one a headache. Before you guys start condemning papal infallibility. Please tell me what do you understand when catholics say the pope may be infallible. If we can all agree on exactly what papal infallibility is only then can we trully condemn it or defend it. If you want us to defend something please do us the favour of defining what you want us to defend. Please!
Where did you get the directive for a christian infallibility from ?

Which scripture ?

How did you come about it ?

macof: I said Jah = Yah not Jah = Jah grin
that was an Error i made, i ment to write : Jay = Yah.

I have corrected it.

macof: Elijah's real name was probably Eliyah or Eliyahu [i]can't be sure tho[i]

Have u seen wat happened to Jesus's name? His real name is Yahshua(Yahweh's salvation) or Yeshua
The Jews don't write their vowels so letters of "a, e, i, o, u" sounds are always missing.

And the Greek and Latin writing was very different because vowels give meaning to written words.

I wasn't there but it's logical to assume that the translators of Hebrew Bible to Greek used "I" looking letter for sounds of "Y" : Yah would be written like "Iah". and Latin writers assumed it as "J"
I have seen where Jehovah is written as Ieovah.
Do u know that "J" is silent in Spanish?
"Jesus" is pronounced as "E-su-s" in Spanish.

The name of Elijah isn't pronounced that way in Hebrew.

And as I posted before "I" in Greek is "J" in English for the pronunciation of "Y" in Hebrew.

That's how Eliyah is written as Elijah in English text.
So, why the selective acceptance ?

You people or catholic feels ok with Eli'jah', and makes case for 'Jah'ovah ?

Is it because it is associated with Jehovah's witnesses ?

Will your name sound the same in every part of the world ?

Is the name of Jesus pronounce the way in all parts of the world ?

Will Jesus reject true worshipers because they pronounce the name differently ?

You be the Judge.

I leave you to your conscience.

It's not right when you argue about what you know nothing about - not even the spelling.
who cares with your extra biblical traditions ?
Christianity EtcRe: Defend Catholic Teachings Here by truthislight: 11:17pm On Nov 26, 2013
italo: Let me give you a little example of the failure of your philosophy.

You believe no man is infallible; Adsonstone says he is infallible.

And you both align yourselves to scripture.

I asked you what you felt about if but I think you pretended not to see the question.

I would like you to answer: do you think Adsonstone is truly infallible?

You see why we need the infallible Church to teach us God's doctrine?
What is my concern with what some one is claiming ?

Am only concern with what the bible says.

The bible says i should take in the knowledge of the truth(God's word) to be saved, and thats what is important to me.

What with infellibilty ? Not even a bible word sef.

"For this is good and acceptable in the sight of God our Saviour; Who will have all men to be saved, and to come unto the knowledge of the truth." (1 Timothy 2:3-4).
Christianity EtcRe: Defend Catholic Teachings Here by truthislight: 11:01pm On Nov 26, 2013
italo: If neither the teacher nor the learner is infallible, then neither the teacher nor the learner can be sure that what is being taught/learnt is the TRUTH. It could easily be error...after all, they are both fallible.
But for "traditions", the bible teachings stands clear.

When a teaching contradicts other portions of God's word, then it is not correct, hence Jesus says :

we should do more search:

"Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find.; knock, and it shall be opened unto you: " (Matthew 7:7).

"But seek first the kingdom. of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. " (Matthew 6:33)..

That is why the Bereans are a good example, they researched what paul said to them to see whether it was so.
..............

What should truth seekers ask for ? Money ? Why money when Jesus said the 'first' thing to seek for should be the kingdom ?

"But seek first the kingdom. of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you. " (Matthew 6:33)..
............

We should seek first the knowledge that leads to eternal life. Life, eternal life is what is at stake in the kingdom.
