An official post with less than 100 words and yet they can't be bothered to check for grammatical errors.

I dunno what the point of you thread is OP but I hope that you are not defending the carelessness of our government officials.
Admittedly, we must cross our 'Ts' and dot our 'Is' in all presidential transactions.

But when you see a group of people agonizing over issues like this to illustrate their prejudiced understanding of The President, we must rise to the occasion and defend the man to whom we freely gave our mandate.

http://www.maxgist.com/2015/10/photo-did-you-see-mistake-on.html
It is amusing that whenever someone comes up to correct a typo, he ends up making the Queen of England choke on poisonous grammar. For obvious reasons, it is actually difficult to maintain accuracy when writing on a forum such as this. Keypad, auto-correction, haste and all that.

However, when you choose to correct others or point out an error, you will do well to avoid committing greater blunder - in that particular instance.

In the "corrector's" word above check his use of preposition in "for level of where". "For" should be replaced with "at" and a definite article "the" must be included in the phrase. Why? "at" and "in" "on" "upon" "whereof" etc are the appropriate prepositions for indicating place

"Suppose to occur" Seriously, you are not "supposed" to use the verb form but the adjectival form of suppose which is "supposed".

Puctuation is also necessary for mechanical accuracy. I am sure the reader can easily figure this out.

Candidly, I had to do a crash course in grammar so as to put my prima facie objections to the above quote in the context of jargons!

Bottom line: do unto others as you want them to do unto you.

SonOfLucifer quite an interesting moniker! How did you come about the moniker? The Bible? How did you form your opinion the Bible? what attests to your opinion? the Bible? what sustains your opinion? your experience or that of others?

Unless you are incapable of exercising your faculty at the level of your assertions, your answer to the questions will be yes.

As I assume your answer is yes, have you had any personal encounter with Yahweh other than the accounts in Scripture. for the Scripture testifies that letters killeth but spirit giveth life. So the letters of the bible killed your faith but the spirit which should give you life is lacking.

Someone said man created God in his own image. even the ten commandments suggested that this is possible and it warned against it.

From the above, railing against your own conjecture of God as contained in scriptire is a disservice to your education. God is and remains a mystery based on the diverse manifestations attributed to His Person.

Ultimately, God does not need your recognition it needs your respect for the things you can see. How can you claim to know God if you as a Christian or Moslem be so unloving and uncaring? That Google "true religion is this ...James". it is about charity.

If you are charitable you will see the beauty of God and the spirit of his Love beyond the letters upon which you erroneously formed your conjectures

To my understanding, she means that she shouldn't have taken the appointment if she knew that the people won't appreciate her efforts rather they're making allegations and counter allegations to damage her reputation

But she accepted the appointment anyway because according to her ' we have to fight corruption ourselves'
When you put your understanding in the context of her praise for PMB the reason for her regret becomes evident. The people being prosecuted and which she endorsed were her colleagues. Isn't it regrettable for her to serve alongside those criminal suspects and she FINANCED their wanton plunder?

I can see that education is a problrm in Nigeria. Not school education o. But being educated in how things work. When people don't know who's responsible for water in their locality how will they know who to hold responsible. U mean a president should be concerned about providing water in village? When he's fighting Boko haram....... And if he does provide water in his village people will shout tribalism and clannish sentiments. With hate in the heart against the man Jonathan was destined to fail like a man who's judge and jury are his enemeis must be found gulity of whatever he's accused of
Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! Ah!! Aaaaah!!! Give poor people a break in the name of whatever you believe. GEJ has his good point but you don't have to throw the masses under the bus when his leadership is called into question. If he could give them University why not water?! MDGs, NDDC was under him. He was Dep Gov. Gov, VP, President and we are to accept that he had neither responsibility, power nor influence to give the first "building block" of life water to his people.

Tribalism? It would be better to wear the badge of tribalism than the toga of corruption especially when the well being of people are concerned. If all our leaders had been tribalistic the way Britons, Frenchmen, Germans Americans, etc have been tribalistic Nigerians will be seeking transport fairs to those favoured tribal enclaves instead of facing the agonies of visa to travel abroad.

Pls and pls let no one give you excuse for their fatal negligence!

Fayemi is a great guy but there is nothing intimidating in listing all the one day courses one attended, all the committees one has been member of and all the articles one wrote as part of a CV. If you want to see an intimidating CV, see Soludo's CV.
You need to understand career demands and peculiarities before you make a fair comparison. An Economist like soludo must of necessity have a CV that suggests long term commitment to a particular job whilst a social engineer will have a cv that reflect ad hoc engagements in diverse fields of human endeavour. When the likes of Fayemi vie for UN secretary general office, Soludos will stake their claim in the presidency of World Bank. As you can see Fayemi was a governor of a state whilst soludo was of CBN.

Bottom line: your career choice will determine your CV. There is dignity in labour.

GEJ lost and he was supposed to lawfully concede so nothing special about him conceding defeat. He lost woefully because Nigerians soundly rejected his crooked, corrupt and incompetent administration.

They don't give Nobel to crooked, corrupt and incompetent people so stop insulting Nobel with your stupidity.
The objective is not to insult anyone especially GEJ. it is just sufficient to understand what is responsible for the mentality that drives such criminal tendencies and how to treat them.

GEJ lost an election? Patriotically and statemanly he conceded defeat? That is elementary democracy. It is an insult to GEJ as if he had been incapable of making an elementary decision in democracy. it was noble to prevent bloodshed through impious groundstanding.

In the history of Nobel Prize award people only get prizes for long time devotion to noblest goals not momentary choice of patriotism.

These set of people have a defence for crime suspects: are they the only ones stealing or committing the crime? How do people sincerely devote energy to this shamelessness. I mean without any fear of wrongdoing?

we should pray for them for many are ignorant of making right moral choices no matter the ethnicity or religion of the persons involved.

PoliticsPMB Retention Of Ministerial Powers Is In Order by TRUTHTOPOWER(op): 12:59am On Oct 06, 2015
For starters the President is the appointing authority of all executive powers in accordance with chapter 6CFRN 1999 (as amended).
S.147 (1) says there shall be offices of Ministers as MAY be established by the president.
(2) says any APPOINTMENT to the office of Minister needs senate confirmation.

the word "may" here simply means the president has discretion as to the specific ministerial office to create.

The president is not making any APPOINTMENT to the office of petroleum he is simply retaining the powers which he has constitutional discretion but no legal obligation to assign to a minister.

S. 148 Says the president may in his DISCRETION assign any business of govt to the VP or ministers.

for avoidance of doubt S.10 of the interpretation act says when a law imposes a duty on a person the law also vests the person with the power to carry out the duty.

Bottom line it will be a cold day in hell before you see a commander-in-chief go for Senate screening over discharge of powers and prerogatives already vested in him by the supreme law!
PoliticsRe: Bishop Kukah And His Brand Of Politics By Fr Enwerem by TRUTHTOPOWER: 4:53pm On Oct 05, 2015

Fr Enwerem? Clearly an attention seeker. It doesn't take a deep look to know.

Meanwhile, if what I learnt about catholics is anything to count on, I doubt if a reverend father will publicly criticise and antagonise another reverend father, much less a higher ranking in catholic orders - a bishop. Fr. Enwerem could just as well be a fake, used by the desperate propagandists to get back at Fr Kukah.

Fr. Kukah spoke the truth. If health and wellness (of the nation) is your goal, what a bleeding Nigeria needs most is not to immediately go after those that caused the stab wound. Stop the bleeding first, ensure enough blood begins to flow well (robust economy) and then you can convincingly pursue wrong doers.

But General Buhari (GMB) choses to go after looters first, without addressing the fundamental causes of corruption - the imbalance in the structure of the country that creates the "national cake" mentality in public officers.

Kukah was blunt and bold. He asked how many wars Nigeria had won before? Against Indiscipline, against malaria or against poverty, against nepotism or against hunger. And he concluded by saying that the day GMB fashioned his administration as a pursuit of past misdeeds, was the day he lost his job, and I stand by that position.

Fr Enwerem, please find another vocation and stop envying Bishop Kukah. He's many a man more that you and more than you can ever be, fundamentally because you lack originality. You also lack character.
"Heros" can do no wrong "wannabes" must either "hero worship" or "keep off". well, you are right on the issue of stabbing, only that we desperately need blood the stabbers took after stabbing ...lol. as for Bishop Kukah, the gospel we read in the bible is the gospel of restitution. "due process" is a fantastic judicial concept for isolated cases of criminal prosecution. But when the "due process of justice" faces overwhelming break down of law and order, you need to scape goat or hunt down the most notorious suspects. It just like a teacher entering a noisy class and grabbing a truant red handed. others will fall in line and you can initiate the process of punishing others with the "nicety of due process" If you are familiar with criminal justice that is what the court do to suspects of notorious crimes such as rape, armed robbery and drug trafficking. Corruptiob is now on the "notorious crime" list.

Admittedly, govt must attend to the bleeding citizenry with what is available. This will be done. You and I and every citizen deserve the attention of govt. Pls let your contribution reflect your education - I believe this excludes prejudice. thanks

Not at all. we do not support Satanism which is rebellion against good and total obstinacy in pursuits of discord. E.g people collected money for CCTV. Yet crimes cannot be captured and criminals tracked. Some people see nothing wrong in this criminal negligence and would rather blame other people when the seeds of their perfidy beging to yield. Satanism could be a Pschogenic condition such that the sufferers are just helplessly rebelling against progress and hoplessly at peace with industrial malevolence - so far they are the dominant merchants of that evil industry. Of course I may be wrong. Ok let me concede that I lied. Now look at it: your own inability to give benefit of the doubt to someone who may eventually be your ally will ultimately make that person distrust you. This has been the problem. In politics and in parliamentary debates, you win majority to your side through careful choice of words. and you can talk the way you like about people that you WILL NEVER Seek their support.

APC leaders knew where their votes will come from and they attacked only individuals not ethnic groups. Today, FFK is still calling Fulani Tse Flies, PEJ said some they born Children 'throway' Kanu is encouraged to call Nigeria zoo. Again maybe am wrong. maybe Nigeria will beg SE with power out of fear. Take note, SW will benefit from whatever SE makes of itself in 2023.

I think the title of this thread should be "wake up call for the southern region"!! Only a certified fool would think the PDP,APC or anyother serious political party would hand over its presidential ticket to the igbos or any other southern region in 2019 or 2023!! Face it bro any party that fields a southerner against a northern candidate in this current political dispensation would lose woefully!! Even if Buhari wins and rules till 2023,The APC would lose should it field Osinbanjo or anyother SWner against a Northern PDP candidate in 2023!! This is simply common sensemThe north are ver much united and do not care about any party as long as they are the presidential candiadate while we in the south keep fooling ourselves!!

Tinubu succeeded in ruining southern unity achieved for the first time in our nations history in 2011,This betrayal would haunt the south for years to come as the souhern regions would find it difficult to stand unified for any southern presidential candidate.

If the APC fields a SWner, the PDP would field a northerner with a VP from the SS/SE likewise if the PDP should field a SS/SE ,the APC would field a northerner with a SW VP.

Better brace up dear, the north would rule us for a very long time to come whether in APC or PDP.The so-called sophisticated yorubas jubilating and thinking they are politically savvy would soon understand what i mean if the APC are stupid enough to field Osinbanjo or anyother SWner against a northern PDP candiadate. The recent experience of Femi Gbajabiamilla in the speakership of the HOR contest should be a prelude of what is to come in future.

So unless the south overcomes her differences and unites,we would continue to play second fiddle to these northerners.
Sir, it is not as bad as it seems. Even though there is ethnicity, experice under each republic since 1960, clearly suggest that common sense and honour prevalis.

1st Republic- the north won with SE alliance.
2nd Republic- -the north won with SE alliance
3rd Republic -the SW won with North Alliance
4th Republic (a)- the SW won with North Alliance
" (b) - the North won with SS Alliance
" (c) - SS won with North Alliance.
" (d)- North won with SW alliance
whatever we feel about this scenario, let us discuss it as if we are Russian politicians (no attachment to anyone that is)

the north will do eight years through the alliance of (d) above. Whether both alliance will produce Yoruba and Hausa as President VP respectively depends on many factors because it has never happened before.

The closest scenario was VP GEJ who got the sympathy of all Nigerians excluding core north. But GEJ won in a divided north. This is due to honour and commonsense in 2011.

Just as PDP honourably gave ticket to GEJ both in 2011 and 2015. APC will give the ticket to South in 2023. we have no exception to this rule yet ( in successive democratic regimes).

SE can be like SW of 1999 who produced the Presidential candidates for both parties. SW spoke with one voice to achieve this and spoke with best intentions for the country. They spoke with concern for Muslims and Christians alike and never felt that any group of people were inherently bad. in return the whole country voted for their candidates without fear of retribution. Obsasanjo reciprocated by uniting the country.

The question is: how does SE hope to get into presidency that it truly deserves? Hating the incumbent without any history of support for him is a curious strategy. Presidency have never been won only for the reason that North is on top of the ticket.

if it is rigging, you cannot out-rig the incumbent unless you are massively popular and you most likely could have won a free and fair election.

If it is by popularity, you have to appeal to popular issues. war against corruption, job creation and social justice. You can then do your political permutationon these issues.

I may be wrong but protesting against corruption war , insulting other ethnic groups, declaring war on the Nation and hate speeches are not exactly a strategy for popular mobilization. Without exception anywhere in the modern world, you can only win peoples heart through promise of redemption and salvation from their conditions never because it is your right or that you must get it by superficial intrigues of zoning.

I have no objection to any step individuals may take in their own interest. in fact self hep should be encouraged. what I objected to is uncharitable remarks or insinuation about the Nigeria Police in this particular case.
