I’ll avoid the cvt variant all together
Then you'll have to go for the V6 as the 4 cylinder comes in only CVT.

I need expert advice pls.
I want to replace my good old reliable 14yr old 3.5KW Cyberpower inverter sold by PRAG.
I would need a bump to 5 or 7.5KV, as I would like to add 2 units of 1hp inverter ac to the load; add solar panels and also be able to monitor the inverter remotely as I'm sometimes away from my family - 3kids.
I would appreciate any advice on the best inverter to get (brand name & model) and battery specs/type that would serve me as much or almost as much as the cyberpower has served me.
Thank you
I will add to the advice above, go for Deye 5kW hybrid inverter, you can add up to 6.5kW of solar panels to the dual MPPT of the inverter and you can get the logs and monitor it online from where ever you are in the world.

As advice above, pair it with 14kWh lifepo4 batteries and you are set for many years to come.

8kW Deye is abit pricey and might be way above your energy requirements.

Remember with victron you'll have to buy some other accessories for monitoring.

Please go for Deye if you can.

Nice update man.
Thanks.

Do you still use the car, tell now.
The 2013 accord is no more. The car was damaged in an accident beyond repairs in 2019, that's why I got the facelifted 2017, basically same car with additional bells and whistles.

You will need 4 12v 220a lead acid battery to make 10.5kw and not 10kwh.
@milito
But this 10kWh lead acid will be just about 5kWh at 50% DoD.

From what I read and understand, you use only grid to charge your batteries, not a combination of grid and solar?

Got the facelifted 1 owner accident free CVT 2017 accord in 2020, changed the CVT transmission fluid as soon as the car was delivered from the states, changed the fluid again after 2 years with additional 16k miles on the car, the transmission drives like new, no judder, no slip, no nothing from day 1 till now.

My little advice is, change the inverter to a known and tested brand since you're going for offgrid.
If you're not on budget, go for Victron Multiplus 5kw 48v or Deye or Growatt, Felicity inverter is good as well and budget friendly.
For the battery, I'll prefer 8 pcs of 200ah Quanta or Fullriver which may give you about 9.6kwh DoD, if only the rated ah is correct or 14kwh lifepo4 battery with about 9.8kwh 70% draw. You could draw 80% if you so wish. Any of these two batteries will take care of your loads conveniently including your 1.5hp pumping machine.
As for the AC, I'll prefer 1HP Inverter Ac which consume about 480w (from the list Ologan pasted sometimes ago). I've not checked the watt of the two fans you intend to run at night but if you add your lightings 232w as stated with the Ac and few other unknown loads, you'll be looking at about 900w night loads and running this loads on battery for 9 hrs could consume about 8.1kwh. Adjustment is left for you.
As for the panels, I'll prefer 450w x 9 pcs if your battery won't consume much at night and 12pcs if your battery will be deeply discharged at night.
Just my little input.
Why have a 14kWh lifepo4 and draw just 9.8kWh? This is too Conservative

We should be able to comfortably go down to 12.5kWh

I need help here please.
I use a Growatt SPF 5000 ES,
Connected to 16s DIY LFP cells
And 16s 200a ANT BMS

At first, I set my charging voltage to 3.6 X 16 = 57.6v, float voltage to 3.5 X 16 = 56.0v,
but after so much information gathering here and there, I settled for 56.0v as charging voltage and 55.2v as float voltage.

But irrespective of the times I made the changes above, I am always having problems with the BMS. Sometimes it charges to 90% and stops charging, other times 38%, 68%, but if I reset the BMS, it will continue charging and eventually reach 100%.

This is now beginning to happen on daily basis, but before I go ahead and change the BMS to JBD, I want to be sure what could wrong please? I have sold the system to a client after few months use and I am beginning to look like a bad man now, energy initiates come to my rescue abeg grin
Float of 55.2V is too high, Float of 54.4V is ok and bulk of not more than 56V, I will also rather go with JK BMS with 2A active balancing, this setup is install and forget.

Make sure you have the right settings in your BMS (capacity, when balancing starts...etc)

Good day everyone here.
As someone suggested a 1hp AC for the inverter room earlier, I spoke to Deye Engineers as well as Felicity Engineers as to what is the best way to keep the room cool for the systems.

Both team gave a simmilar response to this.

They both talked about the size of the room which is somewhat about 9ftx8ftx9ft WDH.
They both didn't recommend an AC for the room, reeson beign that some micro internal components might get condensed and eventually fail due to bridging of terminals.
They both recommended a natural air cooling system according to the first two pictures below.
Based on immediate avialable resources, I did it as seen on the last two pictures.
Before you draw your conclusions remember that they did not say I can't use AC in there. They gave recommendations based on environmental constrains which here is size of the room.

After installing and testing this my Extractor fan today, I thanked my spirit for deciding to place the Deye inverter right below the vents as seen in the pictures.
The Deye Inverter sucks air from under and throws out upwards and the Extractor fan sucks the air outside alongside dust. grin
Please recommend improvements if any.

Happy me.
My inverter is a smaller one.

I had some concern on the temperature of my 5kW Deye inverter.
The inverter is situated in a well ventilated area but the heat sink gets quite hot, that's how the design is, so I decided to take some precautions for increased span.

The 5kW has just one fan on the bottom of the left heat sink. So I'm order to keep the temperature at manageable range and possibly extend life span of the inverter components, I bought 2 120mm PWM fluid bearing PC fans, 2 brackets to couple the 2 fans together and a dual fan controller to control the speed of the 2 fans based on temperature.
I installed the fan assembly under the right heatsink beside the factory fan.
The original factory fans still runs from time to time but I noticed that it runs much less than it used to and the temperature seen for the Solarman app shows that the temperature is some degrees lower, also the temperature of the heat sink when felt with hand is lower than it used to be.
The new aftermarket fans run continuously 24/7 but speed increases and reduces based on temperature.

Want to find out if anyone has any aftermarket setup on their hydrid inverter to regulate inverter temperature.

I'll say you probably can still use an AC, just pair it with a suitable de-humidifier to take the condensation out of the air.
I think he's better off with an air extractor with good air flow, putting AC and humidifier will just added to power consumption which we are all trying to conserve.

You may consider Growatt ES but I guess idle power consumption is up to 60w for 5kw 48v.
If you're working on budget and 5kw 48v system is your target, then I'll advise you grab one Felicity from Jonescosmos. What trip me for that system is the idle power consumption/the efficiency.
Thank you

WhatsApp group that a lot of information has been passed in the past is not beneficial for a new user.

A random person can visit this thread start from page 1 and get up to speed with what is happening here. That is never happening with a WhatsApp group. Telegram maybe but it will still be tedious scrolling aimlessly.

This is still far better than WhatsApp.

No need to fix something that isn't broken.
I'm still wondering why some people would want a WhatsApp group away from the community that is on this platform, I have some thought about their intention but I hope I am wrong.

That some of us allow false news spread doesn't mean we don't deal with raw facts .. I wouldn't want to drop one or two on a couple of product so it doesn't spoil the market ..as usual marketers must sell their products.. but those who know quality .. know the real deal on lifepo4 both global ranking and quality

Wouldn't want to drop a couple of list.. wouldn't be nice.. but you can push for It so I can drop a couple .. this is 2022 ranking.. something is cheap and commonly placed doesn't make it Top quality so you know.

Just so you know.. pylontech actually designed the lifepo4 incorporated in the jinko Elss All in one currently in the market..

Reason I hardly value much talk

I see a lot of products being posted and i choose to keep mute so companies can successfully market their products to their target market.. We still have the likes of Narada, shoto , byd, leaf by Nissan, battle born .. we can keep listing..

Like I said " talk is cheap " Don't start wildfires you can't keep up with ..
If i say make we expose things for industry ..matter no go funny ..

Look at their size, which lithium ion phosphate cells can fit into these units?
They are lithium ion.

So I was just thinking randomly about what exactly is the ultimate aim of what we are all trying to achieve with Solar?
Is it uninterrupted power supply?
Is it cheaper electricity?
Is it about the environment?
Or other things?
And which among these is the most important for most of us here?

Because for example, if it's about saving money, from some rough calculations I have done, it appears off-grid solar is simply the most expensive way to make electricity, No?
So does off grid even make any sense? Or is it best to combine grid and solar to create that uninterrupted supply (and cheaper bacause of grid?).

What are your thoughts on these?

NiyiOmoIyunade Ojeysky olopan valto earthrealm GeorgeD1 Bigrovar
For me it's about uninterrupted power supply, I cannot afford to run generator for several hours continously for several days, with the current price of diesel.

Also if I can afford to buy a 20kVA MIKANO or CAT gen then I should be able to afford setting up a decent off grid or partially offgrid solution

This might be out of your budget but you can use it to guide your purchase. Yingli Solar panels are one of the most affordable quality solar panel brands that you can buy. Their 450W panel is going for around N90,000 or higher. I personally don't like tubular batteries due to their electrolyte. I will rather do AGM VRLA Lead Acid battery. Amaron Quanta is a good brand going for around N165,000 last time i checked. For inverter, better to do a hybrid inverter that has solar mppt built in. I just bought SRNE 3KVA/24V inverter for N175,000 for a friend from their dealer in Lagos. So, you can adjust your requirements or the solar components as needed.
Please where can I get these panels?

I have used both JBD and JK BMS - JBD BMS were originally targeted at medical devices so quite rugged build quality and plenty fail safe features built in.

If you want a pro product with plenty flexibility, ability to talk to inverters via RS485, up to 2A active balancing then choose the JK BMS - if you have multiple BMSs in your battery bank the JK also switches between BMSs far better and smoother than JBD.

I say the JK BMS is a pro product because it does not forgive wiring mistakes and also needs a special procedure to wake up the BMS - once you can handle these two aspects you are set to go forever.

Seplos too is a good BMS with active balancer and comms but very failure prone in real life use (we are told there is a bad batch with defective parts released into the market)

I would rank the Dalys and ANTs of this world behind all these BMSs above - typically these cost more and are more quirky but I have yet to see any reason to choose them over a JK or JBD BMS for example.

I have attached screenshots from my JK BMS (current favorite) and JBD BMS respectively - as you can see they each achieve good results and keep your pack happy - the JK is the better value product of the two in my opinion.
Please should I get a JK bms with RS485 or Canbus? I was thinking I can get the bms with both but when ordering on Aliexpress there is only option of one or the other but not both.

I plan to use a Deye inverter which uses has both but might change to victron later which i gather has only Canbus.

If we judge by Popularity and spread of use, l think the Daly BMS is the best and most used .

But they can be pricey, which ofcourse, you would expect from a product that have stood the test of time.
I also think they are about the easiest to connect.
A Noob like myself, connected Two units of 200A Daly BMS to 32 St`rings of 280Ah LiFePO4 Cells (16S 2P) and they without any hitch!

But there appears to be cheaper variants of the Daly BMS as well though l will rather use the "original", if l can afford it and that is a personal policy.

Edit: reading later, what @NiyiOmoIyunade wrote and knowing that he does this for as a Business, l will defer to his opinion since l have not used the other variants and his experience will be very valuable in that regard,
so far, l am enjoying both Dalys, without any issue with them
I have heard about all the other BMSs except JK till @NiyiOmoIyunade mentioned it and shared his experience, I have decided to go for JK majorly because of the active balancing.
