Jobs/VacanciesRe: The Sad Tale Of My Employment Life - Please Help ! by tsmith(f): 2:58pm On Aug 18, 2009
As sad as the situation is, it is very redeemable. And its all start from inside you. You need a lot of self development, you've got nothing to lose by giving it a shoot, coz' at worse, u become a better individual, and the better if u get a job as well, so its a win-win for you.

Fair enough, Nigeria is not a fair playing ground, but as human, u shd learn to adapt yourself to every sitituation making the best of it.

1.) Identify your market/product/environment : As mentioned Nigeria isnt on merit alone, but also by grace or favour. Where does favour come from? People, anybody, anywhere, no one is too small nothing is too minute. For everyday u wake, its another opportunity, so u'v had loads of opportunity& will v much more to come.

2.) U only know who u'v seen, u dont know who's seen u: How is ur physical appearance? doesnt have to be the latest fashion, but highly neat & presentable. Wear ur best everyday, as if u were meeting the queen, coz u neva can tell who'd come into ur path, appearance is very key. After physical is personality, are u a likeable person? CAn ppl coming across u for the 1st time just take a liking to u? What abt ppl from ur past? What do ppl v to say abt u? Have u got goodwill built up for yourself? Do u v a good disposition or do u wear ur problems on ur face. remember everyone has got issues, even the rich and the gainful employed/prospective employer/link. So noone wants to add urs to theirs. Make it ur point to start seeing the cup half full rather than half empty. Have a positive disposition to everythng, its a good starting point. Also ur speech, do u speak broken, slangs etc.Speak well, u are selling urself to all & sundry. So good language, well thought of, well phrased!!!! Just dont speak on the fly!

3.) What are ur strenghts, skills, hobby? What do u love doing! 9ja at the moment know, u can make money outta of nothing! Do u sing, paint, dance? Are u a good prayer warrior, preacher anythng Even d visa thng u talked abt, that means u'v got an eye for details, in wateva u do or like, make urself the best. A force to reckon with. Are u good at organisation|? this will come in later or more elaborated in upcoming points.

4.) Ur association\relationship : Are these associaitions that can bring value to u. R u a Christian or moslem? what church do u go? Whc NAsfat fo u go? Its God everywhr definitely, but go when ppl u aspire to be go. Dont go to a church that wastes d grat part of time & strenght binding the devil for ur situation, go whr u can meet ppl of good calibre. I rmbr my church then in 9ja, they annouce upcoming vacancies within their companies, & ds ppl will help push it as well, coz they'd blv they are doing it for God. Make urself relevant and obvious in this associations as well, to be relevant is taking point 1, 2, 3,4 and any other positive ideas to new heights. Dont go to associations whr hungry ppl are, they'd only keep u at their level, aspire for greater heights!!! thr's loads more ideas, but I hate typing & i'v got a baby to see to. Drop ur nmbr I can give u a call, that's only if u urself is ready for a positive change.

Remember, its all within u!!!
Christianity EtcRe: South Africans Vow To Sack Christ Embassy by tsmith(f): 12:19am On Apr 06, 2009
I was once a CE member and still have close family and friends that are regulars. CE is nothing but a fraud, take it from an insider. members are nothing more than brainwashed chickens.

Just a throwback for laughs, Can anyone remember when he healed someone blind from birth, and he said "what's the colour of my tie?" the supposed healer answerd "blue". that is sure a classic. Can any CE advocate please explain how this is possible please, clinically or spiritually, i'd entertain any sensible theories
Christianity EtcRe: Obedience and church work! by tsmith(f): 6:33pm On Nov 26, 2008
Sorry mate, my church (rccg cardiff) is abt the same. Its funny when ppl try and use judgemental preaching to get you to do things. I mean we aint in nigeria for God's sake. Preaching such as God cleaning u for cleaning God's house is nothing but bull crap! The reality is none of that works, u pay ur tithes u dont pay ur rent or bill, u'd get ejected/ u'd get debt collectorsa letters, its the reality that works here.

Dont get sucked in by such ppl, ur pastor inclusive, its all psychology and brainwashing. I'v had my fair share of such. My advice to you is to either pointblank tell him off or u leave the church to a mixed, ie white/black church. They are more realistic and u actually enjoy worshipping God. Wat nigerian churches do is make u hate going to church, grumble and whine & all ds just draws u further away from God. Should u join another black church, dont get involved as a worker. there are several other ways of working in God's vineyard (which is our mission as Xtains). U can do charity work, preach to ppl just even smiling and helping out outside the church. U can make donations etc.

The moment u get involved in church work( black churches now), the more exposed you get to their flaws and greed and when u try to question it, u get labeled and thats d beggining of ur spiritual down spiral.

All the best, I could give u a call of encouragement or just be a listening ear if u care!

TravelRe: How Is Life As An Illigal Immigrant? In The Uk by tsmith(f):
I am rather new to nairaland, but i enjoy the forum and diverse opinions.

At ppl crucifying the poster as fake, fact stands its a good topic & makes good read. Even if he wasn't for real, some1 somewhr could do with the advice & opnions, so please,

At the topic in question.

I am a legal resident in the UK but can give 1st hand opinion on the gist.

I wouldn't advise anyone to dream of remaining in the UK as an illegal resident for too many reasons.

1) Everywhere in the world comes with its own problems, with 9ja its many physical, the sun, no money, food or oppression. With the UK its psychological. Its really mental here and bad enuf for even their citizen and legal ppl, worse still for illegal immigrants. The UK has the highest rate of depression, mental illness, anxiety etc. You have children as little as 2 having this. before coming to the UK i thought this was a joke, but i have experienced it as well. So with the amount of depression & stress available for free you don't want to add to urs by being undercover & and living in fear constantly.

2) The law of the UK is as your earn you spend. Even the average UK citizen cant save up to 5% on annual earnings in year. Latest poll the average debt is abt £36000 per adult, many die from the worry. There is every tax u can think on, council tax, income tax, car tax, u r even taxed £135 per year to watch the TV u bought with your own money, even if the actual TV cost you £10 to buy off the fleas market. To break even in the UK, u need to be a high income earner, ie abt 30000 and above.

3) Discrimination: it is a land of opportunities, no denial, but its not so straight forward. Some jobs u'd be told is for UK citizens alone or u need to have a british PP. So imagine the short changing when the PP u have is even illegal.

4) there are several measures in place & also nation wide against illegal immigrants. Gone are the days when once caught, u get a free ride back home, now you serve a jail terms before you are deported. Now been to prison is been to prison, its leaves it trauma & scars on you. Literally, U'v been there & done that!

there loads more reasons, i could go on & on & the tale wont end.

If u are legal the UK is cool though with its ups & downs, with the right orientation & mind set you can excel. The only way i can advise anyone to be in the UK illegally is if all hope is lost for u in 9ja, i.e. u sleep under the bridge, drink from the gutter & there's been 6 murder attempts on your life in the last 7 days, otherwise u r better off bro!
