bukatyne: While bonding with the children is on the man, let's not ignore that the mother teaches the children to disobey their father by undermining his authority over them.
How can a father call his sons to wash the car and the mother say 'they are sleeping'?
Did they go to the farm overnight? Can't they wash the car and go back to sleep?
If sleep is so important to them, can't they wash it the night before?
And shouldn't a 20 year old help his father dress up for work? Polish his shoes, iron his clothes, help him co-ordinate his wears in the newest fashion?
Let's assume the man doesn't actively seek to bond with his kids (a lot of Nigerian fathers are guilty); can't the mother encourage it especially if they are not in an abusive marriage?
The mother should be the one pushing the kids to wash his car, polish his socks, iron his shirts, pick his tie etc. That way, they would bond and the father can pass nuggets to the sons.
The sons would also learn how to be responsible, co-ordinate/lead a family, note the father's mistakes to improve on etc.
If the OP was complaining about the sons not sitting with their father to watch CNN, I would ask if the father sowed the seed to reap such.
But disrespect on the mother's orders and with her backing? Na! You ask some seemly valid questions in a typical sane situation and other irrelevant ones (20yr old kids help grown ass man dress, is he disabled) Both poster and brother seem a little derailed and very entitled in my opinion. Brother is type that likes his car washed every day, that sound alike border line OCD. how certain are you that he may prefer car washed in the morning than in the evenings? The fact that they are ones kids and one provides (which is any parents responsibility anyway) doesn't mean the kids need ro be part of that pain. Also women are often giving the short end of the stick when kids misbehave. It isn't the woman's responsibility to bridge a relationship between the kids and their father. And the poster, he's married not for love, but just a vessel and means to have kids. And not kids to love, but kids to take care of him in old age. These are all warped mentalilties that lead to nothing but failure and pain. |

letskeeptalking: Is it a woman's job to connect the children to their father? Are they not his children? Why did he not ensure he creates that bond between him and them.
When men will abandon children for their mothers, and be forming big man. . in taking care of your own children. This is the consequences.
You don't know the bond that develops over little things like helping them with bathing them, feeding them, helping them with their assignments, taking them to school e.t.c You think the children know/care who pays their school fees? It's the person who was there for them emotionally that they will love and appreciate.
Nigerians men continue forming big men, but don't cry foul when your own children turn on you!!! You nailed it. Relegating misprioritisation and relegation of responsibilities to the other party. To make matter worse, such misconceptions is also setting poster up for failure. @OP better learn now and salvage your marriage. Also now you know having kids is no security for old age, your nephews are already showing their dad |
Health › Re: What Can I Do About My Body Odour? by tsmith(f): 2:00am On Dec 12, 2020 |
frozen70: Take your bath as regular as you can and drink lots of water Being a man isn’t easy. When the world’s not telling you what it means to be masculine, it’s telling you how to dress, how to shave, how to smell – no wonder things can get a little sweaty. Sweating is a fact of life, we all do it, and body odour is part of that package. So, rather than worrying about what others expect of you, take a look at what the cause of sweating actually is and manage it properly so you can say no to bad B.O. WHAT CAUSES SWEATING? There are many causes of sweating – exercise, nerves, hot weather. It’s a natural bodily process that occurs as a response to hormones like adrenalin, or to help you regulate your body temperature when things heat up. WHAT IS BODY ODOUR? Body odour the smell our bodies give off when they sweat. Everyone is different when it comes to how much they sweat, and what it smells like, but we’re all likely to experience it in common areas like the feet, groin, and armpits. WHAT CAUSES BODY ODOUR? Sweat is not actually the culprit behind B.O. What causes sweat to smell is the amount of bacteria in sweat and the breaking down of sweat into acids. Why do armpits sweat and smell of B.O. more than other areas? It’s all thanks to conveniently placed sweat glands that secrete into hair follicles. Bacteria love moist areas and the hair can trap sweat and moisture to provide the perfect breeding ground. Sweat glands are found in other hairy areas too, which is why they often feel sweaty (and potentially a bit smelly). HOW TO FIGHT B.O. Now you know why do armpits sweat and smell, and the basic body odour causes, it’s time to look at how you banish it. GET TRIM Bacteria and hair follicles are friends, which is why armpits, the groin area, and other hairy areas are the B.O. hot spots. Shaving or trimming down your hair in these areas can help keep things fresh and clean. CLEAN UP Skipping showers and proper bathing is often at the root of what causes sweat to smell. Remember to shower every day, especially after trips to the gym. Take your hygiene one step further with an anti-bacterial soap and finish with fresh-smelling deodorants from LYNX. DRESS TO SWEAT LESS Perhaps you already shave and shower regularly. So why do armpits smell afterwards? The answer could be in your wardrobe. Synthetic fabrics such as rayon, nylon, and polyester don’t allow much airflow so switch it up and go for some organic options like cotton, wool, and linen. LEAVE YOUR SHOES AT THE DOOR Aussies might be onto something with their love of walking barefoot. Socks and shoes make it difficult for sweat to evaporate. Give your toes some breathing space by going barefoot when you can or opting for looser-fitting options. WATCH WHAT YOU EAT Did you know that diet can affect the way your sweat smells? The most common food culprits behind bad B.O. include spicy foods, garlic, hot peppers, and curry. Try cutting back on them and see if you notice a change. BANISH B.O. What causes sweaty armpits? What causes body odour? Hopefully, you’ve got all the answers now. As much of a nuisance as sweating and B.O. can be, they are a natural part of life. Instead of worrying, learn how to manage them and say no to body odour. Copied from the Internet. In addition boils may be caused by the shaving or the type of shaving stick that leads to in growth hair then boils. Rather than not shave, better to shave with either good shaving stick, or shaving cream. And pleas euse deodorant, I find sure the best. Try the roll on and the spray. Bug you really can't afford not to shave and use deodorant and expect miracles as a young energetic person and not smell |

During afternoon and night sleeps, the sleep is usually very deep (REM phase or whatever you medics call it, please correct me) and usually characterized by heavy dreams.
Even during work, I'll always take the risk to create some time to have a little sleep. I've been battling this for about 5 years now. What could be wrong. Have a general checkup. Full bloods etc. You may be anemic, it may be your Vit B & iron levels are low. Supplements and sometimes iron infusions may be necessary to boost your energy levels. i used to be in same shape, spent all day in bed from lack of energy, got easily exhausted from simple tasks etc. Supplements alone weren't helping, but with one iron infusion plus regular (every 3 months) Vit B shots and the daily iron supplements I have been able to maintain good energy levels. |

thebosstrevor1: It was not one sided, the original post talked about how sexual promiscuity affects both men and women.
Your comments boiled down to sexual liberation and so called women empowerment and i gave my opinion, suddenly you hate it because a man has an opinion about it. But i believe you also have opinions when it comes to how men behave in society. You only hate it when a women's way of doing things is checked.
You claim i judge and i know nothing about the effects of sexual liberation on women. there are books on this topics. It is not about emotions but facts and we see the effects it has on women daily
For every emotional healthy being, whether man or woman, the facts still remains, a man and woman are more likely to bond together when they have less sexual partners and follow the traditional norms of behavior when it comes to sexuality.
I don't know how to be politically correct but i write this,
A sexual liberal woman is a promiscuous woman, facts do not lie, we see the effect in the western world and a promiscuous woman is likely not to be faithful and loyal to her partner. And a sexually active man is not promiscuous, and will likely remain loyal to his partner even though his dick is not? I'm truly trying to make sense of the validity of your assertion, as this should hold true no matter the gender substitution and context. I am also confused of your definition of sexual liberation. I am a sexual liberated woman and that to me concludes I am particular about my sexual partners and encounters, meaning I am selective about who and when I choose to have sex, and only do this with who I desire and when. I ensure my encounters are just as fulfilling to me as to my partner. i.e. I will not have sex with my husband if I don't feel like. i.e. I will not have sex if I am not guaranteed a cum. |

omodaamola: Dear Nairalanders! What's your take on this?
Dropping empty offering envelops in Church, is it bad? I can say that, it is not a crime that you go to a place of worship on Sunday (Church) without offerings (money you drop in offering baskets).
Modern Churches now use branded envelops to take their offerings, once they give you, you must drop it....It is even written on it 'Do not take it home'. Some churches even go as far as giving more than one envelops (regular service, not on a Thanksgiving Sunday).
Nairalanders, if you worship in a Church that you dance forward to drop these offering envelops, and you are probably on a budget to give once or you don't even have at all. What would you do? Drop an empty envelop? Is this bad? Absolutely fine, by all means return the envelope, if you have nothing to give or the intention to give. If the Church can give the envelope without checking if you need one, then collect it and drop it back. If they make people dance forward to give offering, please dance with them and drop your empty envelope. Your dance, praise and worship are sufficient offerings to God not man. The dancing forward, by force envelopes etc are all reverse psychology created by man to manipulate other men. |

In the middle of this year i get an accident (one man that has no headlight jam me in the middle of night) so , they send me to UNTH Nnewi , because it effected my head and chest, after treatments i spend all my savings,
I have been staying in the house since then because they told me not to do anything hard , so i have to find a way to start seeing change , hunger want to kill me , so i started looking for a way to get a bike but i don't have money ,.
i beg many people non of them takes me serious till one man contacted me that he will borrow me the money ,but i before doing that i have to pay 10500 registration fee because it an organization , so i have to borrow the money from one old mama , promising that i will pay back as soon as possible,
I send the money to this man and he blocked me off , I still have some screenshots from our chats
Since then i don't know what to do again.
I can't go check up again since no money for it , and where i supposed to get some feeding money have also failed , .
I am weak It's unfortunate that life has dealt you some curveballs and the environment and society isn't encouraging or conducive to easily eke a living. However it's also worth noting that in that same environment there may be others that have had it worse that you have and yet are faring better than you are. The difference would be the mindset. Look inward and reconsider some of your mindset. Things like people that are meant to help. No one owes you anything, atleast once you're past 18 years. That someone is related or known to you, and you believe they have the means to help doesn't mean they need to or have to. Yes man isn't an island and would often require upliftment from others. But again to my point above, help even if it may come may not always be from the avenues we think. Mental wellness is also from the mind. You may choose to look at the glass half empty or half full. The choice and outcomes is yours. My assertion from your write up is yes your situation is sad, sad enough that the thought of death to you may be an easy way out, however with your cry for help you aren't on that edge yet. And I pray you never get to it. What you need is help to be meaningfully engaged , and perhaps paraphrasing your appeal that way would have far more reaching positive effects. I.e. 1)I need a job. 2)This is my background. Thwse are the skills/passions etc I possess 3) these are the businesses/jobs etc I can do 4) These are my limitations(could be funds, training, relocation, ideas etc) preventing me from doing so. 4) these are ways you can help me overcome these hurdles and to achieve my goals/dreams etc All. Of the above would show you've gone through some thought process and are intentional and proactive about changing your situation. Do you want to give these a go? I and am sure many others would be able and happy to help if you have a good case. And should you need help with the thought process, drop me your number via email, I believe you already have mine. |

In a statement by Taiwo Alli, Executive Director Corporate Affairs, Wempco Group the hotel’s management said:
“Western Metal Products Company (WEMPCO) Group, owners of Lagos Oriental Hotel, formally acknowledges that there was an attack on our property on October 20, 2020, when hoodlums armed with guns, knives and bottles, forcefully gained entrance to our facility, assaulted some of our security personnel and damaged properties.
“Unidentified individuals whose motives remain unknown to us have gone to town with a rather unfortunate narrative claiming that the Lagos Oriental Hotel is the investment of politicians, thereby exposing it to unwarranted attacks.
“Lagos Oriental Hotel is owned by the WEMPCO Group with 99percent shareholding. The WEMPCO Group of Companies was founded by businessman and entrepreneur Mr. K.F. Tung over fifty (50) years ago.
“The Lagos Oriental Hotel is a flagship in the Nigerian hospitality business but is not a flagship of the WEMPCO Group. It is an investment made by the Group in 2008, but not part of their core manufacturing business.
“At present, WEMPCO Group provides jobs for over 25,000 young Nigerians, affording them the opportunity to earn a living and gain useful experience. It is therefore unfortunate the attempt to disrupt our business and tarnish our image painstakingly built over the years.
“Speaking on the development, the Managing Director, Mr. Lawrence Tung noted that ‘like other responsible businesses operating in Nigeria, Lagos Oriental Hotel is hopeful that closure will be brought to cases of injustice identified in the country. It is however important to protect our businesses from unwarranted attacks by individuals who may not be aware of the facts around our existence.

In the initial writeup, I said how someone I wasn't getting along with someone I was dating, prayed about it with different people since we were very serious, and how majority said we were meant to be together. I however wasn't fully convinced as we seemed to be different, constantly having little issues, different views and values in life.
Moving to today... I decided to move on from the supposed "wife". I went with someone that gives me peace of mind. I also thought its better not to live my life based on "pastor said this or that" However, I've had recurring dreams about the 2nd lady (that gives me peace of mind). The dreams always center around us been together and she suddenly leaving, I won't be able to find her later in the dream. 2 days ago, was the 3rd dream of the same nature.
I am now slightly worried, I don't want to give in to dreams, and want to believe I can pray things are successful and go well between us. Conversely, based on our traditions, maybe I am the one not listening to advice. Between the 1st lady and I are no longer on talking terms.
What do you think? What advice do you have on how best to move forward? I want to learn from other's experience, those who have traveled this road before me. Your imagination and mischievous mind is your worse enemy. Dreams are nothing but imaginative extensons of our minds and events around us. You have so much doubts sabotaging you add in pastors' prophecy into the mix and you have a mine loaded with explosives. I don't think you're in the right frame for marriage, i'd advise you go through a mind cleanse, some positive self discoveries and emotional care before embarking into marriage, otherwise this too will be spiked with also sorts of superstitious speculations which ain't healthy for anyone's emotional and mental health |
Romance › Re: Is It Bad For A Woman Not To Have Interest In Men? by tsmith(f): 10:01am On Jul 06, 2020 |
rasheedatt: I don't actually have interest in men right from time up till now. I don't feel bad about it because am not a lesbian in fact I hate lesbianism.. All my life I quickly get intrested in anything creative like finding out tips and tricks about Internet and technologies. I even learn how to fix PC and phones both hardware and software ware a bit. Never really have a serious relationship due to my lack of interest in men. But I love to hang out with guy that knows about programming blogging things like that etc. I don't hate men at all. Is it bad or is something wrong with me? Am not really into sex sex sex., I feel what a man can do a woman can also do it. Note I don't belong or promote feminism at all. Is it OK to be like who I am? Am not a good writer ooo please manage. You're probably sapiosexual, you're attracted to the mind, intelligence etc. Taps into your creative side too. You'd probably find love along these lines, so keep doing what interests you. And there is nothing unusual or weird about you, you're just unique and rare, so relish that |
