One can't really tell how long the last days will be or when they commence. I guess this is related to the tribulation periods which some claim have begun. But Christ let us know through his words the way to know that the tribulation period has begun: (Mat 24:15) When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand) (Mat 24:16) Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains: (Mat 24:17) Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house: (Mat 24:18) Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes. (Mat 24:19) And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days! (Mat 24:20) But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day: (Mat 24:21) For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be. (Luk 21:20) And when ye shall see Jerusalem compassed with armies, then know that the desolation thereof is nigh. (Luk 21:21) Then let them which are in Judaea flee to the mountains; and let them which are in the midst of it depart out; and let not them that are in the countries enter thereinto. (Luk 21:22) For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. The two boldened portions are saying the same thing. When such happens, that is the sign of the beginning of the end. |
I guess he did a traditional remix. |
If Judas is carrot, then Peter is mango. An old joke. ![]() |
The said clergy/pastor is a very ignorant personality. He himself does not know what constitutes a christian .ie. He doesn't know what a christian is, hence his tirade. |
Matthew 11:11 Luke 3:16 John 14:12 Read the above verses in the order I presented them and draw ur conclusions. |
You're right. Abraham and the rest did not possess the righteous nature which was only available through Christ; therefore, did not possess the holy state we possess. Read the whole of Hebrews 11 to get a picture. You'll see that they of old knew of the promise of the spirit but did not possess it. Also read the whole of Galatians 3 to understand more. |
@Abuzola, Ahonohai has given the answer to ur question. It's all about before Christ and after Christ. Moses was on earth before Christ's sacrifice;hence he wasn't in possession of the righteous nature which was necessary for the holy state. |
@Abuzola, I've said that christians are a set of holy people. The christian life is a holy life. Christian worship towards God is that holy life which conforms to the provisions of the new testament. Conclusion: Christian life which is worship towards God is holy. Romans 12:1 and 1 Peter 2:5 say it all. Our lives are living sacrifices which are acceptable to God through Christ. |
Well, - to answer that, I will have to say this: For some group of christians, some places and things are sacred. But according to the bible, there is no holy place in the christian life. Christianity is not about physical stuff or things; it is about the Spirit, spiritual things. Before Christ, it was all about holy places and things;physical requirements. But after Christ, things changed. The Christian life is a life in the Spirit and doesn't require physical things or places for it to be. John 4:24 |
Sorry for not answering quickly. My internet subscription just expired so I'm using my phone to reply and the service isn't so good at the moment. As said before Abuzola, the church is not a building but a people. The venue chosen for gathering is not the house of God because God does not dwell in houses built by hands - Acts 7:48-50. The people(the church) are the dwelling place of God. The people are holy;that is,the church is holy. This can be understood from 1 Peter 2:5-9,with emphasis on verses 5 and 9. So,the holy state of the church has nothing to do with footwear worn here or there. The church is holy as a result of the sacrifice made by Christ for it.The church;which is the people,is a spiritual house,a holy priesthood. |
I'm not sure I really understand ur question but I'll try and answer anyway. As I said before, the church is the people;not an occassion, not a place. The meeting on sundays is not by any injunction or commandment. It is true that within most of the christian circles that most believe that sunday is a special day ordained for worship, but that really isn't the case. The instruction from the bible is for us to not neglect the gathering of the saints. This means that whenever the church decides to meet to exhort and encourage one another, the members should try as much as possible to be available. This decision to meet could be once, twice, thrice, etc in a week but is dependent on what the church decides. The sunday, sunday tradition that prevails is mostly due to the fact that the week is usually busy for everyone and that sunday is a generally accepted free day for the majority; hence it's being chosen as the day of gathering. Note: Not all hold this view. Quite a lot of Christians feel that it is declared one way or the other in the word of God that Sunday must be the day of gathering. Some feel sunday is a special day for gathering because their religious leader(s) declared it so(the catholics). But one thing you should realize in your viewing of Christians is that you cannot generalize about them because a lot of them have diversified approaches and views concerning christianity;some right, some wrong. |
Romans 12:1 - 2 (KJV) Rom 12:1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. Rom 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Romans 12:1 - 2 (ISV) Rom 12:1 I therefore urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercies, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices that are holy and pleasing to God, for this is the reasonable way for you to worship. Rom 12:2 Do not be conformed to this world, but continually be transformed by the renewing of your minds so that you may be able to determine what God's will is-what is proper, pleasing, and perfect. Pretty well explanatory on how we are expected to worship; - both verses do justice to that |
Abuzola:Simple. We worship God by keeping his commandments; that is strictly adhering to what he has put down for us through his apostles. We worship God by living a Christlike life. We worship God by showing that we love him (Joh 14:15) If ye love me, keep my commandments. (Joh 14:21) He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him. (Joh 4:24) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. to be able to worship God in Spirit and in truth, you have to strictly adhere to what he has provided in the new covenant; the covenant that makes us Christians; the church of God. |
Abuzola:You really do have serious issues! If u can't discern between those that are christians and those that claim to be then u really have no argument cos u are making generalizations. You now make erroneous conclusions based on ur generalizations. Are we to say that all muslims are suicide bombers because we observe a lot of muslims involved in that?! |
Abuzola:Again, the church is not a place but a people. A people set aside/called according to the will and purpose of God. |
Abuzola:You are really a piece of work! (Heb 10:25) Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together, as the manner of some is; but exhorting one another: and so much the more, as ye see the day approaching. That is what we gather for; to exhort and encourage one another in the faith and knowledge of God. (Pro 27:17) Iron sharpeneth iron; so a man sharpeneth the countenance of his friend. And we don't go to church to do that because we(christians) are the church. Where christians/the church gather to worship, encourage or exhort one another is not the church since they are the church; instead, it is a place where they agree to gather and do what is expected of them. Again, this could be in a parlour, kitchen, garage, desert, field, street, market, hospital, school, aeroplane, train, etc. Anywhere, as long as it is where they agreed to meet/gather. |
Abuzola:(Mat 18:20) For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the midst of them. Simply means, wherever a group of christians;two, three or more, gather together to fellowship in God's name, He is there with them. it could be in my bedroom,Parlour, kitchen, garage, office, street, desert, aeroplane, etc. God does not require special places to be with his people or for his people to meet with him. Anywhere is befitting. (Joh 4:20) Our fathers worshipped in this mountain; and ye say, that in Jerusalem is the place where men ought to worship. (Joh 4:21) Jesus saith unto her, Woman, believe me, the hour cometh, when ye shall neither in this mountain, nor yet at Jerusalem, worship the Father. (Joh 4:22) Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews. (Joh 4:23) But the hour cometh, and now is, when the true worshippers shall worship the Father in spirit and in truth: for the Father seeketh such to worship him. (Joh 4:24) God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth. |
Choo Thomas became known for her book she wrote on her experience of going to heaven “Heaven is so real”. Much of it was unbiblical and departed from the Scripture in too many areas for any student of the Bible to take it seriously as a revelation from the Lord who gave us the Scripture. (Believing the Devils lies more than God’s Truth) In these last days, there increasing confusion especially with major events like the rapture and the tribulation, and antichrist. These become platforms for the false prophets. Not that these should be trivialized or diminished in their importance. But we have to be ever so careful to say “this is that which is written” for it can make one a false prophet, even if their intentions are good. Remember back in 1988 Edgar Whisenant published 88 reasons Jesus will come in 1988. A small 56-page booklet certainly made its way through the church. Whisenant said of all the dates, September 11 and 13 the Rapture of the Christian Church would occur (p. 34). That “the beginning of World War III "at sunset 3 October" 1988” (p. 36). When it did not happen he published a revised version stating “My mistake was that my mathematical calculations were off by one year. The miscalculation was so simple, perhaps the reason I did not see my error was God's will, " (p. 1). His flawed math false predictions and even God’s will to miss the dates of some of the most important events prophesied for human history were removed from his doing. He then republished a new date for the Rapture “, September 1, 1989 as the most likely time for the Rapture, plus or minus one day" (p. 6). It’s now 21 years later and there are hundreds of reasons why he was wrong, but we only need one- Jesus told us no one knows Read the full article here. |
Every day, you confirm ur bible illiteracy, Abuzola. You simply have no comprehension skills. Who told u that the church is a building or meeting place? You base most of ur arguments on the half baked knowledge of some so called "christians". Just as someone adviced elsewhere, u need to brush up ur knowledge and the use of the English language before anyone can have a meaningful/fruitful debate with you. |
Too bad, . . . . A lost soul desperately seeking attention. ![]() Your reasoning capacity is so alarmingly flawed that I keep wandering how it is the way you think. |
@lagerwhenindoubt, Nice work. This article was needed in this forum because a whole lot of supposed Christians have their understanding of the judging and anointed concepts upside down and use them wrongly. |

Rick Warren and Post Modernism, Rick Warren and Homosexuality & Lebsbianism, now it is Rick Warren and Islam IS RICK WARREN THE MEDIA FRIENDLY VOICE FOR THE REGENERATE CHURCH OR FOR THE DEGENERATE CHURCH ? Rick Warren, whose efforts to turn Evangelical Christianity into a psychologized religion based on marketing with his ‘Purpose Driven’ agenda stunned many who claim to be regenerated bible believing Christians when he appeared on Larry King Live globally offering an apology to the homosexual & lesbian community for his ‘apparent’ opposition to California’s Proposition 8 outlawing legal recognition of same sex marriage. He did this after creating the unambiguous impression he did oppose it. Warren’s hypocrisy or Christ-less treachery appear to know no limits. Yesterday’s theological liberal is today’s supposed ‘Evangelical’. From his butchering of scripture out of context, to his reliance on Eugene Peterson’s ‘The Message’ which to any biblical Evangelical schooled in New Testament Greek can only be described as an utter bastardization of Holy Writ , Warren has set mew limits to spiritual seduction. On the basis of scripture, Warren’s translocational hermeneutics in which he literally ‘cuts and pastes’ verses from one book or passage into another to completely change the original meaning demonstrates categorically that Rick Warren is clearly of the devil – an agent of hell dispatched by Satan to destroy what con artist tele-evangelists and ecumenists have not already destroyed of biblical Christianity. Warren’s perversion of the Gospel where he replaces the biblical centrality of repentance with a consumer friendly instruction not to preach repentance at one time would have left any biblically grounded Christian, and certainly pastor warning others against this deceiver. His exhortation to avoid end time prophecy, directly contradicting the opposite exhortation of Jesus (Achieved by deleting Acts 1: 6 and replacing it with a cut and pasted insertion of Matthew 24:3) means that he places his instructions above those of God. This is indeed the spirit of anti Christ. Like the Lucifer who whom he is employed and from he takes his orders, Warren likewise in character of Satan in Matthew 4 perverts texts out of context in isolation from co-text to create a distorted pretext. This is the devil, and this is Rick Warren. Read the full article here. |
@mikeoscar, I thought someone specifically asked you what the consequences are?! Why don't you specifically answer the question rather than dance around it? ![]() |
Yeah, I got the same text from two different people. I put my phones aside and went to sleep because I was rest assured that God would take care of my loved ones even if I did not do anything about it. |
KunleOshob:Means I might get to meet you then - when I finally find time to get to church. ![]() |
Sorry to say this, but, fyneguy and donnie, you guys are beginning to sound like programmed drones. It's the same thing i observed with hubreality when he was always constant on the site. It's like when a chip is inserted into some machines to make them produce the same exact results all the time. |
