JayMaine: This is scary.
Is it all foreign degrees that can't assess as level 1 or just my degree from ABU? Every other occupation that has to do with journalism is Level 1 from what I've seen so far, boss.
My husband's Occupational Health and Safety Officer role is also a level 1 occupation. He has an FUTMx degree. His BTech degree was started in 200L - direct entry.
I said EA because I assumed EA is Educational Assessment grin grin grin grin
Any further advise on what to do at this moment will be life saving. Please help. All 5 year degrees and above or 4 year degrees from UI, OAU, FUTA and Unilag can do level 1 also. Also note this is not applicable to all assessing bodies. In your husband's case, not sure how that will turn out cos it's not a 5 year degree but he can try by providing letter of explanation on the Direct entry qualification and also provide transcript of his initial qualification. EA is Engineers Australia |

Please advise ; this is a humble plea egbon, edakun. ME Age 36 IELTS : Results not out yet Degree: BSc 2006 Awarding University: ABU, Zx Course of study: Mass Communication Current job title: Head of News (TV) Post Grad Years of experience: 11 ( excludes NYSC) Married with 4 kids
SPOUSE Age 40 English test result: same as mine Educational 1st Degree: BTech Biochemistry 2007 2nd Degree: MSc Disaster and Risk management Awarding University(ies): FUTMx and ABU Zx respectively Job title(s): Health and Safety Officer in a private school Years of experience: 10
Please advise what visa class best applies to us; and when is the best time to begin EA.
Thank you very much. Journalist and TV journalist are all level 1 occupations which means your degree from ABU will not be able to assess for those occupations. If there is any level 2 occupation or below that you can assess relating to journalism, then you can go for it. Check the 3 occupation lists. Your spouse can assess for a safety role with his BTech cos it's a 5 year course. Pls check the list to see the right safety occupation to assess as long as there are documents to back up the 10 years employment. What are you doing with EA? |

Mcslize: Hello tunlex, I was surprised you didn't reply my earlier quote. I believed it was an oversight? I understand. I am not asking for your number bros. Don't just allow your mind to go there. I am not trying to keep in touch with you too. It's just a pdf I believe u have that I am requesting nothing else.
If you observe very well, I have been following this thread for 4 yrs now, taking note of all information. If u can help with the pdf pls do. I need it that's why I am requesting it.
I am not asking for ur contact or anything else, it's just the pdf. So, I was surprised. At least a reply of I still have it or I do not have it again won't bite.
Simply ignoring someone's urgent humble request doesn't really seems cool. I love it when the person bluntly tell me NO or YES. A honest reply won't bite at all to prevent the person re-quoting you.
It is because I lost all my PTE PDF files. I didn't back them up. This particular one I got from u sometime ago is all I need.
Pls do kindly attend to my humble request.
Simply let me know if u still have the pdf in your archive. That's all. It is just the pdf I am looking for not any other assistance. Just the pdf so u can forward it to my email.
I hope you will not ignore this one this time bros. Hello, I did not ignore your post rather I forgot to respond here because immediately I read the post, I forwarded the pdf to you straightway. Check your email 3 days ago.

Goodies1: Hello great people, please advise: i know pension or tax is required as a further proof of work. So I'm asking....must the pension statement cover the total number of years one is claiming? My company starts pension after confirmation (at 6 months); I intend to claim 1 year experience but pension will only reflect for six months. This caveat is however clearly stated in my offer letter. Will this fly with Vetassses pls as I can't get tax clearance? it will fly with Vetassess. Vetassess is not keen on tax or pension....payslips, reference letter and bank statement are important to them. |

Mamasunshine: Thanks for your feedback, please any idea why one year was deducted for you? I started lecturinging about 2 years after my MSc but don't have as many years experience as you do so I need as many years as possible. Also, have you made any progress so far post the positive assessment if you don't mind sharing. Finally, was it your school that sent the certificate or you sent it separately from the transcript. Thanks. Vetassess deducts 1 year most times, although in recent times, it has stopped deducting the compulsory 1 year. You can upload a copy of the certificate on the portal but transcript must be sent by the school. How many years of experience do you have? |

Damian457: What’s the current cutoff point? 65 is the base minimum point, however your cut off is determined by your occupation requirements and English result. While an applicant with 65 (e.g. Welder) will get ITA, another applicant with 90 points (accountant or engineer) may not get ITA. |

DEINDIK: Thank you for responding. I have a Master of Business Administration in Oil and Gas Management and I’ve done a bit of consulting in this area. I’m just curious as to why MC has a high occupation ceiling each year yet less than 10 percent ITA is issued. Could it be that Vetassess is tough with their scrutiny or we don’t have a lot of Management Consultants interested in applying? In any case I’ll give it a shot soon. Okay. Your year of graduation will also determine the number of years that will be approved by Vetassess. Occupation ceiling also applies to 189 only which has been scarce. Most may have gone for 190 or 489 or the new 491. Also Vetassess is fussy when it comes to job descriptions. Good luck |

Has anyone here done assessment with Vetassess as a Management Consultant? I’m currently putting paperwork together for assessment but would love to chat with someone who has done this before. I have been following the chats but can’t find any info on Management Consultants. Would be glad to share ideas with anyone, please. I have not seen any except for few Indians. If you have put together your documents with a convincing reference letter showing job descriptions of a MC, then you should be fine. What's your educational qualifications? |

FreshBoss007: By freelance, I worked with other persons within that time frame but if self employment would increase my chances, then better
Asking for a remark seems dicey, cause it could reduce my scores since I assume they would be more strict but I'm 29 years at the moment, so I assume age would supplement that deficit Like @toayojj advised, go for a remark if your result is still recent. Score do not reduce, it's either it increases or remain unchanged. Reduction will mean IELTS did a shoddy job in the first place which they won't make mistake to admit. Your best option is assessing as Architectural draftsperson. If you are able to claim self employed for those 5 years, then good on you mate. |

U used the conversion rate of USA to judge for the remaining countries A naira to Aussie dollar is 250 naira. That’s more than enough for processing Aussie visa
And a naira to Canadian dollar is 270, and 320 black market
That can go a long way in processing the visa Check well AUD is not 250 anymore. It's about 290-310 now |

inagbe1: Good evening all. My question goes to Pharmacists who migrated as Pharmacy Technicians. How did you go about getting positive evaluation from VETASSES. I want to know what it takes before delving into it. The most important document for Vetassess is your reference letter which must capture your role as a technician and not a Pharmacist. Any job responsibility with indication of a pharmacist role and not a technician's may result in a negative assessment. |

Cc bellong, tunlex01 My thoughts too, especially with the stringent requirements from the states in the last financial year. EA - faster result, requires at least 1 third party document for all the years, less state nominating occupation TRA - application outcome takes longer than EA, payslip + (at least bank statement, pension or tax for all the years), higher chance of getting a nomination with less stringent requirements/points than professional engineer @Goldpanther, check the one that relates more to your occupation and go for it. |
