How does skilled migration works?
Do someone have to apply via VFS global or it has a different process
It's a different process entirely. Check the thread for skilled migration.

many thanks for your response, about the IT question, i don't have IT paid experience, but I've been teaching Computer Science in Sec schools around me.
does that help my cause??
I was hoping you had a paid IT experience which you could use for the Skilled Migration but since you don't have, you can stick to your studying plan.

Good morning Everyone

I got info about this thread from a friend and i'm glad i did.

i am a prospective applicant and i'm not asking to be taken by hand but i really need pointers on how to embark on this journey and i hope to share my own success story at the end of it all. (i am currently going/reading through the thread from page 1)

I studied Computer Science in Nigeria and i wish to further my studies in Australia if God permits, although my CGPA is not sharp enough(its poor) to go straight to masters, i intend to go through Undergraduate program again if that's the only way.

I have some questions and i'll like the ancestors/gurus to chip as much as they can(i'm a fast learner)

1) Can i still go for Bsc again at my age? (i will be 29years in october)
2) Can my age hurt my chances of getting Visa?
3) Is IELTS compulsory and does it give an edge?(I have Academic IELTS and Band Score of 7.5 and it expires next year Feb)
4) which cost effective schools are most preferable for me(I'm on a budget)
5) can i do the application without an Agent?(it seems all schools work through an Agent)
6) how much am i looking at for both Tuition(First year at least) and other miscellaneous that might come up along the way(A rough estimate so i can know what i'm dealing with)
7) how is the application season like? Can i apply now? (Asking because of the prevailing conditions in the world right now and i have been going through the schools website for more info but still a lil confused regarding application season and deadline)

I'll be glad to get a response to all these pertinent questions and others that will come along the way.

Thanks Everyone cheesy cheesy

NB; i'm open to PM's too.
Do you have any IT paid experience?

I have check the SOL but I did not see data scientist or data analyst but my agent Goajo is telling me they data science fall under IT that there is no cause for alarm.

Why regional universities and can you mentioned top regional Universities
That occupation falls under IT. You may or may not get IT experience when you are done with your Masters but I'm 100 per cent sure ACS or TRA will require a qualification in IT and some years of experience in IT. Currently, IT occupations assesed by ACS are only available for nominations if you have a job offer. Other IT occupations assessed by TRA are less stringent but requires at least 3 years experience.

Good day every one. Please I need an URGENT help. I have been working in a bank and I assessed with Vetassess as a Customer Service Manager last year. I got a negative outcome in June 2019 (12weeks after) saying my documents do not show a dedicated customer service management role and that tasks undertaken are not relevant to ANZSCO Tasks. It was added that my documents showed I was heavily involved in the day to day operation of a branch. I was greatly discouraged.
I am planning to reassess soon but unsure of the documents to add and how to repackage documents for a positive outcome. I have been in customer services and branch operations. My first degree is in Chemistry 2:1 but I have no masters. My employment in banking started in 2008. I was assessed from 2014 to 2019 by vetassess. I have an ielts academic score of 7.5
Please and please help urgently on the best step to take now. Waiting eagerly for your response
Sorry about your result. Unfortunately, except your designation has changed, it's still won't change anything. A CSM in a bank will not be working in branch operations at all but most likely be the head or team lead in the Customer Experience group at the head office.

Your other options
1. Get your spouse to assess and be the PA
2. Asses as a Financial institution branch manager if you are an Operations head or branch manager.
3. Try other countries.

Tick all the states cos you will survive in any of the states. You should go with the state that gives you nomination.

Sorry pls, I need clarification from anyone here,
In many of the Subclasses (e.g 491,190, 189, etc) I read this condition online "must not marry or enter into a de facto relationship before entering Australia" what exactly does this mean? When an applicant can claim points from a partner undecided
What this means is that you if you got nomination/grant as a single person (after claiming 10 points), you cannot marry or enter into a defacto relationship until after you land in Australia. You can now come back to get married then apply for subsequent entrant (491) or partner (189/190) visa for your spouse.

Good afternoon great nairalanders.

I am interested in relocating to Australia.

My wife profile

She 32years old
Practicing accountant for over 10years
B.Sc Accounting and MBA
IELTS overall 7.5
ICAN certified

I am 36years
B.Sc Microbiology
M.Sc Vet Public Health
Security Officer for 4years and a laboratory Technologist for 2years
IELTS overall 7.0

Please advice me on the next step to take for a smooth sail in acquiring a perm residence in Australia.
Your wife can assess as an Accountant with either of the 3 bodies. The 3 bodies use IELTS Academic. Currently, accountant occupation is the most competitive and as such the nomination for offshore applicant without a job offer in Australia is very slim in the last 18 months.

You can be the PA while she adds 10 points to your point after getting a positive assessment from either of d accounting bodies cos your experience point will be zero due to the less-than-3 years experience you have.
check the occupation list for an occupation you can assess to fit your Laboratory technologist field.

Nothing is guaranteed as immigration laws do change from time to time. If she has at least 1 year experience, she may go for chemist or chemistry technician and assess with Vetassess.

Anybody have a clue what secondary documentations will suffice and how to go about it.

income tax return, social security insurance reports,
registration certificate, work permit, etc"
Common secondary documents required by EA are tax statement or pension statement for all the experience years you are submitting

Good day all, please am new here and have been reading the trend from page 1, I am interested in Australia immigration program and need your guidance. My profile goes thus:

Single
34yr
Agric. Consultant/ Scientist
B.sc Animal production and health ( Second class upper), M.sc Animal science PhD grade.
IELTS academics 6.5 will lapse by August 2, so am planing to write another one
Self Employed ( poultry and fisher business) for almost 6years.
With the above profile, am I eligible to apply for 189 or 491 and what is the procedure. In addition, am not sure whether to write IELTS academic or general and I don't have a pay slip. Thanks in anticipation.
Agricultural consultant/scientist are a bit competitive at the moment. You may try out other Agric occupations like poultry farmer etc. Go through the occupation list and check for other occupations you can nominate.
Do you have company registration documents and tax payment for the 6 years?
You may be eligible for 189 but I'm not sure your total point can get you 189 visa, but you may be eligible for 190 and 491.
Read the thread to know the procedure. You can also visit Vetassess website to read about their requirements.
You can write either of the English test. Both are acceptable

Hello everyone.
I've stuck to this thread for over a month now taking it all in. I feel like I have what it takes to get the required minimum point (I'm just 29, single, I have around 7 years work experience, the right qualification and I've demonstrated superior english twice- it's a requirement for my job that you have the certificate).
However there is a sour topic I never came across. I'm HIV positive, undetectable though. I'm worried about the medical screening process.
I've read that there are certain circumstances under the waiver provision when a person can be granted permanent visa.
If there's anyone who can help, either you've had a personal successful experience or you know someone who has, I'd really appreciate a feedback soon.
(Feel free to send me an email please)

.
I don't want to go on a wild goose chase.
Most people won't discuss such on a forum like this but I can assure you that you don't have anything to worry about. People living with HIV and HBV have gotten visa. Although HIV is one of the health risks critically assessed by DHA and reviewed by the medical team on a case-by-case basis (cd4 count) if you are undetected, it won't result in a rejection of your visa.

Go ahead and assess if you meet the requirements of your assessing body.

That's depends on your occupation though. Not all occupations/state have such requirements. You other option is to assess for another occupation that does not have this requirement.

Good morning all...

I am new here and have gone through page one but somethings are still confusing.
I couldn't see my Job role/tittle on the list on Australian website. Does it mean it is not for everyone
Below are my details;

Job designation: Administrative/ticketing Officer(job role is more of admin assistant)
Age(27):30 points
Degree (Bsc):15 points
Ielts LRSW 8.5,7.5,6.5 and 7 (speaking is 6.5)...can be improved to get 10 points
Experience 3yrs plus = 5 points
Total = 50 for now, hoping for 10 extra points

Also vantessa website still doesn't show this.
Admin role is not on d occupation list which means it's not for everyone.

You can try other option like schooling or another country

With a state uni, your wife can not assess as a Statistician which is a level 1 occupation.

You also do not have the required educational qualifications to assess as a DB Admin. I am not sure if ACS or TRA will consider an MBA even though it's Data mining option; it's still not a Computer science degree

when you review the website you will understand the CDR. For EA, you need to write English test before assessment.
she wont get point for experience then since it's about 2 years. She can assess as Financial Institution Branch manager

Assessing as a University lecturer is one of the easiest occupations to assess with Vetassess if you have your MSc, employment documents and aligned job descriptions.

If it's not necessary, you can wait for your spouse's assessment result then.

Any advice?
Yes, you don't need a Pgde to assess as a University lecturer. You only need MSc and above

Please include you have a bsc in electrical and electronics Engineering from Convenant University so that you can adequately be advised cos of all these their relevant education, rpl etc things.

My own verdict- it is a 50-50 thing cos of your undergrad degree and you don't have more than 6 years experience which they may deduct in lieu of relevant experience if they don't see elect &elect as relevant experience.

It is good you place all the cards on the table so that you don't go and waste money unnecessarily or even if you are in it, you know how to condition your mind.
Na d major wahala for Aussie parole .

For the proof of payment evidence, I put 3 payslips per year- January, June and Dec. I also got my pension statement from the provider. You can also add statement of your salary account

Waiting for the ogas to come and torch light ur matter regarding relevance.
With a non relevant degree, he should not bother to apply to ACS cos his years of experience is not even enough for dedcution so it's most likely going to be a negative assessment.
TRA also don't do non-relevant degree

Oh..
Sorry another question..
How many point is needed for permanent residency?? And how many years will be given if granted?
65 points is the minimum point for skilled migration visas (189, 190 and 491) however each occupation/state have different points requirements to give you nomination. It's all dependent on your occupation, the state you reside in Australia etc., so it's not a one-size-fits-all approach.

All the 3 visas are 5 years.

Please house thanks for the good work here.
I have read most of the chat and my case is a little bit different.
I studied civil engineering, I have ND & HND from Ibadan Polytechnic (2000), and an MSC from UK (2013).
I will be 43 this October, I want to go for 491 so as to get the 15points which with superior English will give me 90.

First question, I want to assess as a Civil engineering draftperson, a tier 2 qualification, do I need to hide my MSC for VETASSESS. My job description is similar to this and I have 18 years post HND. Although I can't lay my hand on the old employment letter and payslip

Secondly I will be over 45 in 3 years time and can not make any PR by Then, but fortunately, my wife is 35 and studied Computer science. My question is can she switch to be the primary candidate after our 491 considering the fact now that she does not have much experience now.
Plan is for her to go for study there and also work and then go for 189/ 190 with here after she could have muster like 4 years experience onshore.

Thirdly, Civil engineering draughtsperson is assessed by either VETASSESS or EA, which is advisable I use.
Thanks

1. If you are want to claim more experience points, then you will not need to add your Msc cos Vetassess will start counting from 2013. This will also mean your education point will be 10 instead of 15
Only experience in that last 10 years will be assessed.

2. If you get in with 491, age does not come to play when applying for 191 PR. You or your spouse can either be the primary applicant.
3. Vetassess
