Please I would like to know if landing in US on 19th of July with earliest admission of 13th of July is not a bad idea for F1 visa and dependent on F2 in resuming for Fall 2022. I hope the CBD officers won’t frown at it ?
You should enter no earlier than 30 days before the resumption date to your school.

Please for due diligence, what are the things first time traveler F1 and wife f2 to prepare when departing Nigeria for the first time to USA? Like documentation, information to have during landing and meeting the CBD and other vaccinations?
Your I-20 is an absolute must, you are not getting in without it. I would also take along any admission letters you received from the school.

I've been in love with my friend's sister for a year now, the whole family are cool with me. I and the girl has been so close , we fight, settle, she apologizes immediately when she's wrong, I do too , when we're together there's no boring moments as she keeps creating funny jokes and discussions even if I'm out of words.

So many times I try to understand and dictate signs she loves me , even situations where there are guys with cars whenever we're walking and they stop to talk to her , the reactions from her shows to them she's my girlfriend. Even though we both know we're not dating.

Many times people tend to ask her the state of the relationship or who am I to her , sometimes she says her boyfriend, sometimes her manager because we're in a business together.

My question here is despite she being supportive and understanding, can a lady go into a biz with a guy who she doesn't see the future with? Like she does more of the commitment than I do sef, whenever I talk about the future she doesn't laugh she only says if it's God's plan no one can stop it but she always tells me "I'm not ready for a relationship now, you're not my boyfriend, I just need to focus on my growth"

This is one girl that understands my kinda person and I do understand her too
We fight and settle just immediately.. so many times I lockup and don't want to talk to her she does the checkups and communication. I'm not pushy, the stuff is just balanced .

Even encourages more and sacrifice for me like a wife even some girlfriend's wouldn't do for their boyfriend's...

Few days to my birthday she wrote on her status
"My love's birthday is loading"". Soon I viewed it she deleted it .

How long can I keep accepting this you're not my boyfriend words and I'm your girlfriend attitudes....
Maybe she doesn't think you're ready for a real relationship, marriage... i think you should sit her down, tell her exactly what you want from her. Let her know you'd like to take things more seriously, be exclusive and working towards marriage in future while you both grow together.

Do you expect a pastor to beg and be poor?
Even Jesus while he was alive was treated like a king. go and read your Bible very well.

Many of you that criticizes pastors and men of GOD have no idea how rich God's servants and prophets were in the bible.

Solomon is still the richest man in history of Creation. Go and look up on David and the rest, even Abraham, Moses. some of the disciples and apostles weren't poor, if you must know. even Paul was a rich man and was educated.
Do you expect to serve GOD and be poor?
You're wrapping greed in a cloak of obfuscation and dishonesty. Solomon and David were kings... of course we expect kings to be wealthy. Abraham was a wealthy merchant BEFORE he was called to follow the Lord, much of that inherited from his father. Moses was raised in the palace of the king of Egypt... Paul was born and raised in a privileged and wealthy family. He was a pharisee, a roman, and was educated at the feet of Gamaliel... all BEFORE the encounter at the road to Damascus.

Here is a clear difference, apostle Paul did not become wealthy due to his ministry, he was ALREADY wealthy. Abraham did not become wealthy because he followed the Lord, he was ALREADY a wealthy man from a prominent home. Can you claim that "pastor" Jerry Eze was wealthy before he became a pastor or is he essentially living off the tithes of the faithful? Using these men as cover for your own covetousness and mindset that following Jesus = make me rich is a joke,

Hello House: Advise needed !!
My 1st Visit to US was in 2014 (after 4 denials), i visited and spent 4 weeks,
My second visit after renewing my Visa was in 2017, i spent 7 weeks during my visit. Unfortunately my Visa expired in 2018 and i have not made any attempt since then, spoiling my chance of doing a drop box.
Right now i really want to travel but then the fear of the consulate is the beginning of wisdom .
My Questions:

1) What are my chances of getting my Visa renewed
2) How can i get appointment for the interview.
3) What are my chances when i go with my family (Wife and Children) as my 2 visit so far, i went alone

Looking forward to hearing from the house. Thanks in anticipation
Prepare to explain how you had so much time to stay for 7 weeks.

Had my. B1b2 family Visa interview last week Wednesday 22nd June at Abuja America Embassy . We where denied by the lady in window 11 ,it was very painful and sad experience especially for my two kids that cried after we were denied.
The CO mood was so down that she didn't give anyone visa before me while the other guy was just dashing out visa to people. Below is our transcript

CO: Good morning

Me: Good morning

CO: Why are you going to US?

Me: Going on vacation as a family

CO: Where are you going in US? :

Me: New Jersey

CO: Why New Jersey:

Me: Because my kids will like to explore the amusement parks and seaside towns and also myself and my wife will like to explore the resort there as a bonding moment

CO: What do you do?

Me: I am a business owner. I am the founder and Managing Director of Elisteph Ventures. The company is a distribution company for major electronics in Nigeria like LG,Sony Samsung etc

VO: Madam where do you work?

My wife :Alayo Catering service

CO:What do u do? :

My wife: Caterer

CO:Do u have family in the Us?
Me: No

CO: Do u have friends in the Us?
Me: No

I will welcome suggestions on tips of a better chance next time.

Guys pray for good consular officer to interview when ever you are going for your interview. It doesn't matter if your documents are all intact and purpose is genuine. From my experience the Visa officer personality and mood at that point matters in you getting visa
Anyone who has ever lived in NJ would deny you just on this alone. Amusement parks and seaside towns? If you wanted to see those then you would be looking at Florida or California. No one goes to NJ just to see 6 flags amusement park.

I think you should also go easy on the VO. He doesn't know your purpose is genuine. He is having to make a snap judgement... both of you are small business owners, which means it is easy for you to liquidate your business and stay back in the US with your entire family if you wanted to. There is some tourism in NJ, but not enough to justify spending millions of naira for a foreigner. The claim that you don't have family in the US is also suspect... why else would you pick NJ if you know absolutely zero people here?

Hi everyone,

I hardly come to this thread, but in the little time I slide here, I learn a lot from the intelligent contributors on this US thread. Well done, guys.
I have a quick question, and I welcome answers and suggestions from anyone. Ethier DrStrangelove or any other person. I am open to different ideas and views.

My younger sister got a US visit visa ( before that, she had extensive travel history to the USA and Dubai) and travelled to the USA last year for vacation. Her permit in the US was about six months at the point of entry, but she made the mistake of spending too long, up 4.5 months. When I got aware that she had been in the US for that long, I had to instruct her to plan to leave the country immediately and travel back to Nigeria because I was aware of the risk, but it was too late; she had already spent 4.5 months.

She returned from the USA in November last year and then applied for a student visa in December because she got a full funding scholarship. The VO immediately denied her and, according to her, kept shouting, 4 months! 4 months!! 4 months!!! Who did you stay with? And all that etc. Without my knowledge, my sister went to try her luck again in January this year, and VO immediately denied her again, making 2nd refusal in a row. In the VO words, the second time, “you are not eligible.”

My question is, she has now just gotten her passport stamped for Canadian permanent residency, and she has already completed a semester In the United States studying remotely with excellent grades while still retaining the scholarship. Few thoughts came to my mind:

• Should she try reapplying for the student visa now from Nigeria since it is now seven months from the date of 2nd denial (which was January)? Then document on the DS 160 that she commenced studies and has achieved these grades so far but needs to be on campus because she needs to be physically present with her fellow cohorts regarding group projects they would be taking in the new semester.?

• Should she come to Canada first, spend some time in Canada, complete her first year online, and then apply from Canada?
She is currently working with a company as a manager, and her online programme is MBA.

You guys know better how USA immigration works, and any other helpful suggestion you think best is welcomed.
If she already has a Canadian permanent residency, why doesn't she just go to school there? Why punish herself by staying on a temporary visa, with all the restrictions that come with it? Once she gets a Canadian passport, she can go back and forth to the US as much as she wants. Going to school in the US will simply prolong how quickly she can apply for a Canadian passport as it does come with residency requirements.

It shows that you have never travelled abroad. If the cousin promised to assist him, what's the big deal, it will be a plus for him. The cousin should have just told him that he will not be able to help him then he would have had other alternatives even before he left Nigeria. Some of you will just open your mouth waa like Tinubu and be spitting purulent discharges. Getting a local person to navigate the system is easier than using the brochure. Now strangers have helped him, shey him cousin don happy now abi?
cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy cheesy no comment...

Foreign countries are easy to navigate IF you do your homework first. The brochures you get spell out details like bus numbers, routes, subway systems (if that is the case), and links to affordable rentals for incoming students. Most importantly, every major college has an international student office to provide the type of guidance you are looking for. Thousands of Nigerians attend school in cities where they know no one... and they survive, without whining.

The problem here is not even about cash but directions. You saw how long it took him to understand how the bus system works which led to him falling sick.
It simply means he didn't do his homework, expecting his "distant" cousin to do all the work for him. He isn't the first person to travel to a different country without any family to assist. I believe he is a student. Foreign schools typically send out extensive brochures, including material to help foreign students navigate housing, transportation, immigration, etc. These brochures are meant to be read, not dismissed. It would have helped this individual much more easily figure out how to use the Winnipeg transportation system.

TravelRe: Canada Landlords Deny Nigerian Student Housing Because She Has Children (pic) by TWoods(m): 4:18pm On Jun 22, 2022
Highlandgee:
A Nigerian international student hoping to live in Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada has complained she was discriminated against because she has children.

Obianuju Okwuogu had been looking for an apartment in Moncton during the pandemic for her family so she can attend Crandall University in person.

But when she was asked how many people would stay in the apartment, and said she has four daughters between two and nine, she was turned away.

"I kept searching and every day I kept getting disappointed," said the graduate student.

Okwuogu had started online classes at Crandall University. She moved to Canada from Nigeria with two of her four children and has been staying with her sister in Edmonton while she looked for a place in Moncton.

In her search for a Moncton home, she's focused on apartments with two or three bedrooms, and she had already dealt with about 20 different landlords.

Okwuogu said she sees listings online and contacts landlords by email and by phone. They respond and ask how many family members she has, whether she has children and their ages.

After telling them about her four children, she often doesn't hear back. And if she does, it's to hear that no apartments are available.
"They would just say, 'Sorry we don't have anything for you,'" she said from her sister's home in Edmonton.

She said one landlord told her it would be easier if she only had two children, and they needed to be older. "She thought she was being helpful, but it was pretty offensive," she said.

'I felt like I was being rejected'

Another landlord said her children would disrupt the neighbours and referred her to an apartment too small to fit the six family members.

"I started realizing at that point it wasn't about the space. It wasn't about the size. It was just because they were children, and they were young and they thought they would be an inconvenience to the neighbours."

Okwuogu has also looked at duplexes in Moncton. One landlord worried about her paying rent because she was a student and said Okwuogu would have to pay six months rent up front. "I was heartbroken," she said.

"I felt like I was being rejected because I had children. I felt like I was being told that my child was an inconvenience. I feel like I'm being told I should not have had my children, and that's really depressing."

This is silly and frankly annoying. It is important to understand the social norms of the foreign country you relocate to before making baseless claims of discrimination. This isn't Lagos where you can rent anything anywhere.

She is not being discriminated against. This is also standard fare in the Western world... landlords often target a certain demographic depending on the home, size, location, etc. I rented a 2 bedroom house once that had a no-pet rule. In my most recent rental, I could only have a roommate with the landlord's permission, and no children were allowed... and it was a bigger 3-bedroom condo.

No one is saying her children are an inconvenience. She is most likely searching for a home in an area where younger, single people mostly populate. Having younger children can also be an issue for some landlords. It means they have to worry about scratches on the walls, food in carpets, or overall more concern for damage they have to fix when you leave. As a landlord, you want a tenant who causes the least amount of damage to your home so you can easily turn it around for the next tenant without spending too much on renovations.

Some landlords also want to rent only to people who can afford the home... no one wants to be chasing rent or listening to sob stories. A student with 4 children and no visible sign of income is not a good idea for a tenant. In the US, I have had to fill out a form that requests proof of income (recent pay stub) or undergo a credit check before the landlord would rent the home. In some cases, landlords will insist on setting up an automatic wire transfer so they know their rent will get paid, on time, every month... Yes, you have kids, but it is not the obligation of the landlord to care about them. This isn't Lagos.
