Righteousness2: There is nothing absolutely wrong with her wearing a skirt. It's the same material, it's the same uniform.
Even in the military, you have women who put on their skirts.
Trouser is not for women! It's for men. Even if the whole women Worldwide put on trousers, it doesn't make it right. She is not man! And so her putting on skirt is not a crime.
Infact she is a worthy example for the ladies.
I usually agree with you, but this is simply not it.
1. Which female soldier wears skirts to the battle field?
2. The idea that trouser is for men but not for women is simply culture disguised as the bible. The ancient bible heroes all wore what we would call a skirt today. In fact the books of Jeremiah and Nahum mention this. The trouser is man's invention... we decided what gender should wear it, not the bible. For too long, Nigerian Christians have put themselves in bondage over trousers. It's time to move on.
3. Her putting on skirt is not a crime... but that isn't the point. Every Nigerian knows what the NYSC uniform is. You are not at liberty to change it simply because of your religion... it is not compulsory to participate in the NYSC.
4. Nah, she isn't a role model to women, she is an example of what we should shun, refusal to abide by simple rules because we want to do whatever makes us feel good. I don't get to go sew my own military uniform, using whatever material I want and be taken seriously when I go into the barracks. Romans 13 tells us to be subject to governing authorities... which includes wearing the general uniform that has been approved for the NYSC for more than 40 years.
However, a source at the FAAC meeting told TheCable that the fund was used to procure two offshore patrol vessels (OPVs) for the Nigerian navy. The two vessels would be used to combat oil theft, piracy, and smuggling, as well as conduct search and rescue operations
This is wickedness indeed. The US Virginia class nuclear-powered cruise missile fast-attack submarine costs $2.8bn a piece. You mean we spent a third of that on patrol boats for the Navy?
blamingthedevil: God Bless Aviation Minister God Bless President Buhari God Bless Incoming President Bola Ahmed Tinubu God Bless Federal Republic of Nigeria
Which serious national airline starts operations with three leased aircraft? Nigeria is a joke.
ekpotek: No. Knowing someone in the US sometimes can be negative. Sure you are well off to afford an hotel for your honeymoon. Note the VO will be looking at your previous applications to convinced himself if your circumstance has changed.
This is only partially true. What matters most is convincing the VO that you have a stronger reason to return to Nigeria than stay in the US. For example, a single adult male child flying to visit a parent will find it very hard to get a visa. But a bank executive in Nigeria going to visit his children wouldn't find it that hard... he has a high-powered source of income that he is highly unlikely to want to abandon just to stay with his children.
I work and reside in Dubai and i would like to visit the US for my vacation. Since dubai is also a tourist country , how do i navigate this with the VO and which state in the US is best for tourist visiting. Is dallas a good visiting places and Does my reason have to be related to my work?
You probably do this on a temporary visa. This will complicate a US visitor visa application because you are already at a deficit with respect to home ties. You can try though.
fathermonkey: Thanks Twoods ! You've become softer !
I figured! She got denied in Nigeria before she started her program in the UK.
The stress of having to apply for a Canadian Visa makes the Caribbean islands are better options. Even Mexico now requires visa applications post covid, so the Carribeans might just be it!
Thanks for the suggestion!
Marriage and children will do that to you!
You are right, a lot of the Caribbean countries are visa on arrival so that might be an easier shot. Best of luck!

Please does anyone know if hospitals in the US accept wiring of money directly from Nigeria. Wanted to send money using form A, medical at bank rate, only for The hospital in the US to tell me they don’t accept wiring / direct deposit as a mode of payment and I can only pay through money order, cards, Cheque or online payment. Any help please? Anyone know anything About this or how to go about it? Thanks
Doubtful that you will find a hospital willing to accept wire transfer, considering most people here either pay online or by check. Once they've also told you what they will accept, you dont have much choice left. Your only option is to wire money to someone in the US and have them pay on your behalf, online is easier.
Mimi227: Hello everyone, I need urgent help can anyone please help with contact of a Dr and hospital in Las Vegas , Nevada ? With a price breakdown.I am getting close to my due date and I am yet to get anyone . I appreciate any help God bless you all
Go on the internet and look for doctors available. Contact them personally.
It's okay to assume the actions taken might be desperate. If one sibling has not seen her in 5 year since he started college, I think its worth giving a shot to get a visa, if we keep graduating and she cant be present I also think it's worth giving a shot.
As regards your question as to why we cant visit her in the UK, two of us are on OPT, currently trying to adjust status through our workplaces. Lawyers and school DSOs advise that you should not try leave the country while on OPT especially if your visa is expired as there's a high chance on getting denied since you're done with school, and our employers trying to adjust status for us definitely doesn't help.
One sibling who is still in school can attempt to go visit her, but he'd need to renew his visa but she wont buy that as she's probably too traumatized at this point. I came home in 2019 and renewed my visa via Dropbox before going home and letting her know I was around but had renewed my visa already. That’s how terrible she’s dreaded us stepping out of the US before we get GCs. I guess it’s just parental paranoia
Alternatively, if we are bent on reuniting with her, we could all meet in any of the Caribbean island as those in F1 status can visit the Caribbean islands on expired F1 visas and re-enter the US with no issue. And a couple of Caribbean nations are visa free for Nigerians. But come on, we are talking about her not being even able to attend graduations and missing her sibling's funeral.
And speaking of me exploring the Canadian route, it's the express entry programme for myself since I qualify for it and she also get the benefit way quicker than the American benefit would come from us. And my sibling also works with an organization that can move them to Canada should the need arise. This is in the grand scheme of things for the long run. I hope this address the immigrant intent concern.
As regards what she may have done to trigger the revocation, she didn't give birth to any of her here, if she did, we wont be so worried haha, someone would have filed for her. She has only visited the US for a week for convention, tried to take my brothers to get tourist visa, they got denied and that was the genesis. And she also had her UK visitor visa renewed twice after the revocation before going to study, she has a good track record there so I guess getting her UK student visa wouldnt have been an issue.
In all at this point, her home ties are really working against her, she asked after her last denial why she keeps getting denied, the VO told her point blank that all her kids are in the US. It probably doesn't help to note that she's widowed so I understand her having zero home ties.
In all of this, I do understand that a visa is a privilege. Thanks for your sympathy.
In the case of your mom, it might be relatively simple. All her children are in the US, she's a widow and she is a temporary immigrant/student in the UK. This simply means she has zero home ties... she isn't likely to get a visa at this rate. The best bet would be to try applying after she returns to Nigeria. Or get a visa to Canada... you all can travel to Canada to see her and return even with an expired visa. Unfortunately, that would require you to also apply for Canadian visas too.
pegix: ignorant ?u must have made a mistake If its about war history Trust me uve quoted the most vast person
I very much doubt this is true but sure...
pegix: You shouldn't be biased by looking at the current situation in ukraine Though sad and pathetic
But you should look carefully into the history of ukraine and the events that precede this war
What history? Please explain.
pegix: My question is that What does the west gain from containing other major military powers
What has the west done to instigate the Ukraine war? Again please elaborate.
pegix: They don't have problems with russia alone but with china and some others countries that doesn't share mutual goals in line with their military objectives
Would you share mutual goals with dictators and nations built on communism? Neither would i.
pegix: Yall come rant ...putin committed a crime What about the thousand of marshall islands inhabitants that were bombed and irradiated alive b y USA Years after world war
You might want to read up the millions killed by Joseph Stalin.
pegix: A multipolar world is good for all The time has come for other giants to arise Russia is a declining global power with massive military heritage from the former soviet states it's evident
We already have a multipolar world with multiple nuclear armed nations. Some simply choose to work along lines of mutual interest.
pegix: Their biggest enemies in the very near future is china provided they refuse to stop their military doctrine of containing other nations
What doctrine is that? Which countries has China contained. Please explain.
You're all over the map and it is confusing to understand your train of thought... but i keep trying.
pegix: Invasion of ukraine didn't happened in a day It was as a result of certain events that pushed the russians to the wall They couldn't have made a beta choice
Those events would be?
pegix: Ukrainian were caught up in the battle line This is not actually their problems They have given themselves up to be used by an opportunistic west
I'm confused... Ukraine is not a NATO member. Estonia is a NATO member and has a US military base... it shares a border with Russia... so why has Russia invaded Ukraine but not Estonia? I'm sure you can explain very clearly.
pegix: More than 2000 bases are owned by USA located far from the us territories
Should we call this a way of militarizing the whole world
Russia also owns military bases around the world and is already building bases in 6 African countries, including Egypt, Mozambique and Sudan. So what's the problem?
pegix: Time has come for others to stands and defend their values and rights How they feel and what they want
Do you think Ukrainians have a right to defend their right to live in a free country independent of Russia?
pegix: And yes Russia has one of the most powerful armed forces in the world Second on the list
Independent army , navy and airforce with 100% home made equipment and arsenals How many countries can boast of that?
pegix: Africa is ours And non of anybody's business who is visiting or going out
If not for illegal motivation Who the hell.mess with the greatest military in europe And the 2nd biggest , most advanced and equipped in the world
Not sure why Nigerians feel compelled to share their ignorant and poorly thought out opinions on international issues of zero concern to them.
1. No one messed with Russia, this is Putin’s war to reconstitute the former Soviet Union. He has been very clear on this for years. Ukraine was the second largest and the 2nd most strategic region of the former USSR.
2. For the so-called “most advanced and equipped military in the world” they sure are having such a difficult time prosecuting a war with a far inferior military.
wirinet: You still have a long way to go to learn how prosperous societies are built. Just because you escaped poverty, you ran away from your families and fatherland to become second class citizen in another man's land.
Jews control the Media, film, financial and tech industries not only in the US but also in Europe. Mind you there are only about 14 million Jews in the world.
Look at this video particularly reason number 6 which deals with community development over personal satisfaction.
wirinet: This was an illegal business, just like 419 business. Victor provided the mule, inlaw provided the account and cover. Both have stake and share in the business. That's how 419, drug business and money laundering works.
Believe me a gift has to be nurtured. No baby is born that can play football from the womb. The baby even has to be born and survive first. Many people particularly family members makes lots of sacrifices for Victor to be born, nurtured, schooled and fed. Sometimes some siblings have to forgo their schooling and their career to sponsor just one of them, with the hope that the siblings will help train others. That used to the the social structure of igbo and Yoruba social structure in the past. My dad trained his brothers and sisters. When he died while i was very young, there were lots of rich uncles and aunties competing to adopt me. Today greed, selfishness and ungratefulness has taken over our society.
Do you think Jeff Bezos and Bill Gates siblings live in poverty? You think they are crying because of $20k or even $100k?
You need to go out and learn how Jews, Arabs and indians take over wherever the go. Go to London, Australia, US and even Dubai. They are being taken over by Jews, Arabs and indians. How? A single immigrants would come, and in less than a few years he would bring his whole family. All living under one roof and working. They buy properties together and before a decade, they would take over the whole street. Furthermore go and read about the Kibbutz system and how it help Israel develop from nothing.
We blacks can't live with ourselves without negative emotions of jealousy, pride and avarice which at the end of the day render us all poorer.
This is a boatload of nonsense. I live in the US and Jews or Indians are certainly not taking over. You’re simply justifying family feeling entitled to your work. I lived through that with my parents in Nigeria. Everyone felt entitled to their money (because my mom was a doctor) and my parents had the same attitude as yours. We had to go without many things just to accommodate this foolish idea.
Calicoe: As if it is easy to bear when you had almost 500k and ended up with 20k at the end No matter how you look at it, he was used and that is why I said he should have been straight with him from the get go
He wasn’t used. None of that money was his… he didn’t work for it. I’m glad you admit greed is ultimately what is driving his in law.
Calicoe: He should have been straight with him from the beginning, tell him why he is bringing him in and how much he intends to give him from the amount. None of these would have happened
Or he could have simply taken his 20,000 euros and been grateful.
wirinet: Are you talking generally or in relation to this specific case? In this case neither the inlaw nor Victor Osimhen was entitled to the money.
Since we both agree on this, why is the inlaw going on social media to claim that Victor owes him?
wirinet: Then on a general case, your immediate family is entitled to some of your success. Why? Because you could not have made it all by yourself. Afterall you did not drop from heaven.
Due to the poverty and lack of social security in sub saharan Africa. Most of us need family support just to survive. To feed, school, have a roof over our heads and even treat medical issues, we require the help of close family members - parents, brothers, sisters, aunts and uncles. Victor cannot tell us that he got to where he is today without help from any family member. Sometimes the family has to make sacrifices just to push one person out of poverty. It is often expected that the person would help other family members once he or she is made.
No they are not ENTITLED to any of your success. Who gave Victor the gift of football? His sister? What sacrifices did the family make to get him out of poverty? The family can make requests for help... but to go on social media to malign him is the very height of delusional arrogance. If i were Victor, that would be the end of any help i ever planned to render.
wirinet: But the reverse is now the case with the black man. Once he has made it, he immediately start seeing his immediate family as a burden and an embarrassment . He lives extravagant life and feels happy to see the family he left behind living in poverty. I have seen too many of such examples in Nigeria. In fact most families such situations, whereby one man or woman is a billionaire but his blood brothers and sisters are living in poverty.
Huh? This is an issue that is squarely endemic with the black man. Have you ever heard of Jeff Bezos siblings? Bill Gates? How many of their siblings are out there screaming that their "brother" must drag them out of poverty? We don't want to work, we rather reap where we did not sow.
wirinet: This is the main reason we fail to progress as a society, unlike the Jews, Indians and Arabs who make sure their kith and kin succeed along with them.
This is a joke right? We have failed to progress because the rich don't share their wealth with hangers-on and leeches... not poor governance, massive corruption, political inertia?
wirinet: You are one of those that always defend the rich and castigate the poor or vulnerable. Why is it only the poor inlaw you are attacking and find nothing wrong with Osimhen's conduct.
Why does the in-law feel entitled to his money? What conduct? Spending his money as he sees fit? I'm not defending the rich, just thinking assuming the rich owe you, just because, is wrong.
wirinet: He presented himself and his bank account for the deal. The whole business itself is 419. Victor Osimhen nor the inlaw was not entitled to anything. Victor Osimhen presented his inlaw as his Nigerian agent. The foreign and Nigerian agents were supposed to share the money. What happens if the foreign agent refused to pay the Nigerian agent his commission? Its still the inlaw that has the right to sue the foreign agent.
In a 419 deal both the person that brought in the client and the person whose account is used have a fair sharing formula.
So basically he was used to launder money and he is complaining that he didn't get paid enough? ok.
wirinet: You people are reading the back of your phone. There is no entitlements in this case. The inlaw was presented as an agent to the tranfer of Osimhen to juventus. He signed all necessary documents. The money was transferred into his account. Victor Osimhen used sentiments and scope to collected all the money, and gave him 2.5%. He is now demanding foe his fair share of the deal. Where is the entitlement here?
So exactly what work did the inlaw do? Was he involved in negotiating the transfer deal? Is he the one with the talent that allows such a huge and lucrative transfer? Why does he feel entitled to even $1? The in-law himself acknowledges that he was only brought in because he is family, so as to keep the money/profit within the family. What is he complaining about again?
I think the overriding issue here is that MOST Nigerians also feel entitled to eat "our brother's money". This is why many are siding with the in-law. They see nothing wrong in demanding their "share" from the sweat of other people's brow. No one is required to "take care of his family". If they are suffering, they should go get a job.
chinchum: While Victor appears greedy from the vidéo, there is a form of entitlement by the family. It is crazy that family will make it social media affair.
However, it is a shame that victor will let his family suffer. There are some money that will almost make you hands off family wahala. Out of the over 500kusd, If he shared at least 50kusd i.e about 20million naira as of 2020 to each of the immediate siblings, assuming he has 6 siblings, amount spent is 300kusd+ they should be set for life and any one who comes back to cry that Victor did not do anything can go and die. I am very sure many will still come back though, because there is so much greed and entitlement in an average Nigerian.
The money is a commission afterall .
The in law who got the payment should get more payout. We are all different, it should still not have made it to social media, they could have cajoled and begged him, the man may struggle to explain to a court he made voluntary transfer to him and still not get it back.
But you know that will never be the case. Once he establishes this precedent, his family will be asking for $50k every year. The problem here isn't victor, it is a family that feels entitled to the sweat of his brow. Why cant he buy cars with HIS money? Go work for yours.
lollarojo: Good day House, trust we are all doing great. Wishing all our expecting mums a safe delivery. Ive been an ardent member of this birthing thread since 2014 for my son and 2016 for my daughter via this thread. To d glory of God I had no issues and all.
However, I’ve had a pressing concerns I need help/clarity on.
1st, my visa expired since 2018 I tried Renewing prior covid but was rejected (during d trump birthing saga) I was asked to bring my Itemized bill. Sorted that from Del sol Medical (Dr Esparati) tried getting an appointment again but unfortunately I got for Dec 2023. Is there a means of getting earlier dates ?
2ndly, I’ve been hearing people say I should be earning money from d govt for my kids. How true or possible is this? Someone even asked I give her their ssn which I declined.
Lastly, we haven’t traveled with d kids to USA since 2017 is there anything like revoking citizenship if d child stays out of the country over a certain period?
I will really appreciate all responses towards this. Thanks
You're not paying tax to the US government so there is nothing to "earn". Do not give anyone your child's SSN. That person obviously wants to use it to commit tax fraud.
This is part of the northernization of the country and the south is foolishly playing along. For peace, terrorists in the north are given millions in amnesty... for peace, the south gets armed soldiers and Nnamdi Kanu in prison...

Just see how humbled he was @the beginning of the video, he even asked the guy to take a seat till the woman gave him a little power to ginger his shouting.
You can never see them eat in a public spaces in Nigeria just like he did in the video. In naija with tax payers money, you will see 2 to 5 security personnel surround him. May God continue to shame them one by one.
Awon agbaya oniranu jati jati.
To say the truth, the guy recording him is a real trouble maker, what he dare not do in Naija, he shall what to prove to Aregbesola that, he has no power over him right there in the US
The beauty of living in a nation of laws, rather than the nation of big men right?
nnewsnjobs: Can I fill a new DS-160 form and still used the interview date that was assigned to me with the old form?
You mean 2023 is already fully book, what are Nigerians rushing to US for. If not for a specific reason, I would have changed my seminar destination to another country, which kind thing is this.
Are you the person organizing this "seminar"? How can you change it?
Stenewiser: we can comfortably, say this is a "governor".
No we can't. Was the cost of these all in the state budget or do governors get to simply dole out whatever amount of money with properly accounting for it? The state budget is not his personal piggy bank.
