Most southeren states would not.
IL will give u drivers license/ID without asking ur immigration status. Most southern states would require to bring hard of copy ur SSN.

Chicago as a whole isn’t the problem, south Chicago is. Been to Chicago several times and have family friends who live there… we must be talking of 2 Chicagos. As I said, 8 of the 10 things you listed are par for the course in several other big cities… nothing special

and whats the point mentioning all these places ? as if somehow that diminishes that all these thiings are problems in chicago. many are running down south to southern states because of these problems i have mentioned.

The problem with south side Chicago is simple - guns, crime and let’s face it… mostly minorities live there. It is not a reflection of America as a whole. I point to the other issues to show that they are not the reason Chicago is the way it is… the weather is worse elsewhere and yet they aren’t shooting themselves all day.

1- too cold in winter and yo have to shovel your car out of 12 inches of snow every morning. try shovelling out of caked up hardened snow its impossible. its a nightmare

2-parking spot is almost impossible to find

4- corrupt cops who have a quota of how many tickets they are supposed to give out daily to make revenue for the city so they always targeting minorities

There are certainly issues with south side Chicago, but most of what you have up here isn’t it…

1. Rochester MN is far colder…
2. Parking spots are harder to find in NYC
3. Check Texas or Arizona.
4. There are areas in MO where it is worse. Cops are corrupt everywhere
5. We’ll try places in Michigan or Vermont. Many of these states are almost 80% white. Houston Texas and NYC have similar “segregated” communities.
6. Yep, that’s your problem right there. Talk to Indiana.
7. It isn’t, taxes are higher in NYC and California

“America is believed to be the land of opportunities, but America makes those opportunities very difficult to access for people who are not born into privilege. The American Dream narrative of "go to school, get good grades, apply for scholarships, and better yourself" is not that easy in an underfunded community where people don’t have access to basic amenities.

The main issue here is simple. You’re an asylum seeker, so yes certain opportunities are not open to you. The American dream is often misinterpreted to mean it is applicable to everyone. That’s not the case, you have to be a US resident or citizen.

I do have a question. I work for a company in the US remotely , We have a conference and my company wants to sponsor my trip to the conference in the US , do they need any special documents , do I need to provide any special documents ? , would my Visa be B1 or B2

The company should have immigration lawyers to do this for you.

Good day everyone, my visa was refused and I have been asked to come for an interview.

I stayed in the US for 6 months straight in 2020 because of covid and the shut down of our airspace.

I want to know if there is anyone in my situation that went back for an interview, what questions were asked and the outcome.

Also I filled that I was single in my form but my wedding took place same week I submitted my passport, I intend telling the VO when I go for my interview

Pls those who have gone for a follow up interview after staying too long due to covid should share their experiences. Thanks

Not impossible but will be a challenge. I do recall there were charter flights at some point to get Nigerians back home.

There is no US visa that allows you to come and “have a nice time”, let alone for 6 months. She can always come to see you in Nigeria.

I read this thread out of sheer interest and your story is fascinating, in terms of your husband’s apparent lack of concern for your feelings.

As a pair of cold eyes, you are fretting over something you shouldn’t. At this point, there is zero evidence that the child is your husband’s. He does not see him, does not financially support him, his name is not on the BC, there is no DNA to link him to the child, no legal action from the mother to compel him to determine paternity. In fact all you have to go on is family rumor.

My humble suggestion - go ahead and exclude the child. If you add the child now, you’re simply setting yourself up for more trouble. Your children should not be held hostage by a child who may not be their sibling…

You’re unlikely to get a visa again, at least for 10 years. My guess is you did not include her and her daughter in your latest application. That would be a red flag. You can easily explain away a spouse by a divorce, how do you explain away a child you claimed to be yours, who is now in the US? If she is in the US illegally, that’s even worse. The VO is likely to think you are going to do the same. You blatantly lied to obtain your first visa, the chickens have come home to roost. Find another country to visit.

You have to clarify your earlier misrepresentation to them of being 1. Previously married and 2. Parent of the girl.
They don’t like misrepresentation. And it appears you both tried to conceal these important facts.

I’d advise you get a super pricey law firm involved in immigration practice (the type that the US Embassy invites to its annual events and dinners) to represent you in getting an affidavit stating you haven’t been previously married to X, nor are you the biological parent of X’s child.
This will help you with the misrepresentation to the embassy.

What they decide to do to you is another kettle of fish, but it will go on record you have recanted from the misrepresentation.

If there was any form of marriage, engagement or meet the parents you guys did, the US recognizes this as marriage. You may seek to get a divorce officially using a law firm. This will help you clear the misrepresentation.
But do not fabricate if there wasn’t, because she is still there to refute it, leading to another misrepresentation.

All of these are a lot of things to do just to go on vacation, but it is important because you or your child may be in a country that shares info with the US in future.

Finally, did she get a 2nd visa to travel or it was the same visa you all got together?

How is that going to help him? He already stated that she was his wife and that was his daughter when they obtained a B1/B2 visa together as a family? Stating she is now no longer his wife/daughter basically seals his fate.

Single dad met single mom. I have a girl child and she has a girl child too. We were doing things and just decided to go on vacation. The mumu in me without being officially married to her asked her to take my surname as well as her daughter. And i even claimed to be the father of her daughter .Things went sour and we both went our separate ways. Aunty has japa to US finally with her daughter. I am certain that is the reason our visa was refused. My daughter is an inquisitive person, i am worried about how she might react when i respond to ECO's question ( the last interview was war. she almost wanted to yell MARY IS NOT MY SISTER)

Aside the possibility of my daughter's reaction during the interview,how do i convince the ECO?

Your story is disjointed. Did you attend a prior interview with her and claimed she was your spouse and her daughter was yours? How did that interview go? At this second request for visa, did you only include one daughter?

Is she in the US today using your last name?

She’s responsible for the full cost but high-risk will call for a Dr visit once a week for the last 2 months. Those 8 visits and all the doctor, specialist, hospital, medicine costs will be huge.

She has not said she is incapable of affording it so let’s not discourage her.

In these times no one will give you such visa. You are also high risk, can you afford the costs in case of complications. Its even too late to even get a visa date. So this is mission impossible

the info you provided is outdated. It was sent out in January 2020 under Trump. The Biden administration has since rescinded that rule.

I disagree. The US is well aware of what sickle cell is and that your pregnancy is definitely high risk for you and the baby. Unlike most here, you are far better qualified to seek a US visa to have your baby. I would suggest that you start looking at contacting doctors in the US who specialize in women like you.
