PoliticsRe: The French Revolution Of 1789 Looks Like Nigeria by twosquare(m): 11:17pm On Oct 19, 2020
It's been a while I saw you on this forum. Welcome back. I believe one thing that can save them is to implement restructuring really fast...if not, I don't know what else...
musicwriter:
Though I've left Nairaland but I couldn't just resist commenting on the ongoing pre-revolution in Nigeria.

I decided to take a look back at the French revolution of 1789-1790. Guess what? It started just like Nigeria's, and so far everything is proceeding as the same.

1. The French revolution began because the king and ruling class ran the country into bankruptcy. The Nigerian government has ticked this box.

2. As a result, there was extreme hardship in the land and price of bread began to increase everyday. So, you'll go buy bread today for N100 and tomorrow the price could be N120, and next tomorrow it could be N150 and so on.......... to the point bread was rationed. Even to the point French citizens had to work for some one or two days to be able to buy one loaf of bread. With bag of rice going from N8000 in 2015 to N20000 in 2020 in Nigeria, the Nigerian government ticked this box.

3. In the midst of the hunger, the king imposed more taxes on poor hungry people. With petrol, kerosene, electricity, etc bills out of the roof, Nigeria government ticked this box.

4. Hunger and desperation started widespread resentment among the French populace. Nigerian citizens ticked this box and everybody with a brain knew for long that Nigerians are not happy. Even former president Obasanjo had warned several times that ''Nigeria is sitting on a powder keg.''

5. The king ''proposed a financial reform package that included a universal land tax from which the privileged classes would no longer be exempt''. Before this time, the elites and ruling class did not pay tax. So, the king agreed to some compromise. Nigeria government has ticked this box by agreeing to reform SARS.

From here, the events diverged with so many other variables. However, in summary, the anger later turned to the ruling class versus the poor masses.

New demands were made. And more and more demands were made by the revolutionaries until they just decided to remove the ruling class entirely and become the rulers they want. Do you understand what I just said? Its like Nigerian youths decide tomorrow that no more negotiation with Buhari and the ruling class. We must remove the ruling class and rule the country by ourselves. Beautiful!. The ruling class were on the run. LOL!. Things suddenly got out of control and riots erupted up the point the king and his wife were beheaded.

More ruling class were beheaded to the point if you ever made a comment that doesn't support the revolution, you'll become a suspect yourself and risk being beheaded. Many revolution leaders themselves were victim of the revolution.

Those of you somewhere saying ''this protest is getting out of hand'' you're not ready for a revolution. Nigerians own the Nigerian constitution. If we want we can suspend the constitution ourselves and release every prisoner from prison, if we so wish. In a revolution the people are in charge not the government. In a revolution Nigerians will create what they want, not the government. The government has no choice if we want!!

Make more demands from the government!!. Ask for death sentence for corruption. Ask for restructuring now!. Ask whatever you want. Do it now or never!!. Nigerians, you may never get this opportunity again in 50 years.

Just watch the documentary of the French revolution. No wonder historians often cite the French revolution as the mother of all revolutions.

Please download and share with your friends on facebook, whatsapp, twitter. etc.

Enjoy!

Christianity EtcRe: Prophetic Revelation On What Is Coming. That Was Revealed To Me By God by twosquare(m):
TheNoble007:
Good day everyone. I will humbly share some prophecies that were given to me in visions and revelations from the Lord Jesus Christ. This is not for vain glory or whatever, but to share coming events that will soon occur. A true prophet is one whose revelations come true and can give true solution to events or problem with the fruit of meekness or humility. The solution to the world's problem, is not world peace, but the knowledge of the real Jesus Christ, who shed His blood for the salvation of the souls of men. I don't know the version of Jesus that you are seeing or was preached to you. But the real Jesus, transforms the heart of men, turning men from sinners to saints who live their lives in constant holiness and righteousness to the glory of God. For no one who sees the real Jesus will ever remain the same. Anyone who sees Him must change. This is not the time for gimmicks, for the end is at hand.

HERE ARE THE PROPHECIES:

1) In the year 2008, about 12 years ago, I had a vision in which I was walking with the Lord Jesus, and He began to tell me of a great commotion/unrest that is coming upon Nigeria, and this commotion is billed for occurrence. And He then told me that some politicians lost their lives in the process including a person of good mention. When He mentioned the name, I was surprised. I asked the Lord again to confirm, and He said YES. I was still surprised and wanted to ask Him again, but He read my mind and said to me- "Don't mention that name again" with pain in His voice.. I was now left alone, and I began to hear praises and worship coming from true children of God in the time of the great unrest. Then the vision ended.

The world is shaking at the moment, and no part will be free soon to come. Albeit, prophecies are meant for us to pray and also prepare... We have loved ones.. We can extend our prayers not only for ourselves, but to others as well for preservation.. A great commotion is coming upon Nigeria, and if believers can pray, violence of any sort will be brought under control.. May God preserve His children.

2) In a vision, I do not see the current president of the United States holding power for a long time. His tenure will be short and another will take his place.. Those who understand, will understand.

3) In the spirit, I see another virus coming after the corona virus. By the year 2021, corona virus will have left the face of the earth. But another will be introduced. This will be more deadly than corona, albeit looking similar to it. It will make corona look like a child's play, and will baffle the scientific world. The world economy will be crumpled further. Most notably the United states. It's main victims will be men and children.

4) I see a wave of power coming upon the world. Particularly in Africa. Powerful youth with the anointing of Elijah will begin to rise in this last days in great numbers, from 2021 and beyond.. They will be humble and will help build nations. Many of them will be Matyrs for the sake of the gospel. A great revival is coming as it was in the day of Pentecost.

5) In the spirit, I saw the walls of the United States falling. Oh, how great would be the fall...

6) The coming of a World wide persecution of true Christians is at hand. Very close.

I will stop here..

But in a short while, Nigeria will rise again, anyone who lays hold of a Nigerian will say I will go with you...............

Let's keep praying for the ongoing revolution

CareerRe: Secondary School Teaching Vs Lecturing: Which Of These Two Jobs Should I Choose? by twosquare(m): 10:44am On Oct 07, 2020
Emir8:
Hello Nairalander,
I really need advice concerning making a choice between the two jobs before me. My family members are divided over which job I should choose.

I'm working in a highbrow secondary school and my start up salary was N75,000. After three years, my salary is now N96,000.00. I just got a lecturing job with a private university and my gross salary according to the appointment letter is N88,000.00. My father wants me to continue with my teaching in the secondary school but my mother and fiancee are pressuring me to write acceptance letter to the university and accept the offer. There's no time, both the university and the secondary school will be resuming on 12/10/2020 and I have to make a choice between now and Thursday. My fiancee is already calling herself "wife of a lecturer" and threatening that she will quit the relationship if I did not accept the university offer. My mind is in the secondary school because there is free lunch and N150,000.00 housing allowance per year, but the university doesn't give lunch and housing allowance.

Should I go and become Mr. Lecturer and sacrifice my secondary school benefits?
Stay in the private secondary school and do your PhD from there. Assuming you said federal or State uni, I would have said go for it. But to be sincere, stay in the sec schl and launch from there. I have Profs today who took that route, and later crossed from sec schl to State uni after their PhD.

Listen to your parents.

If you still can't see it, then you can't. What is restructuring? And what does it entails? Ask yourself these questions. Are they referring to the 50s-60s system of government with some tweaks? Ask yourself that and stop shouting.
aribisala0:
Region? Define region

I thought we were talking about Ekiti

You have no clue wht you mean by restructure.

You are just parroting the word

You are using the wrong argument for the wrong conclusion.

Once again how does restructuring help Ekiti

aribisala0:
How does failure to restructure stop setting up companies and how does restructuring help ?
Each region can fully control their resources and develop at their own pace. For instance, the energy demand of Lagos for instance is not the same as Ekiti, or Edo or Kano. If Lagos has full control to generate its own power supply for its own use, and take bills for its own use, it won't need to share with Ekiti when it does not have enough, thereby boosting its progress for industrialization, etc. But what is not enough for Lagos is further distributed among others.

What Katsina needs is not the same as with Kano or Kaduna. The money Cross Rivers generates which should be reinvested in either tourism or fishery production, is also put in one purse, then redistributed among states, either they are performing or not.

Even our body is not centralised...that's the wisdom of God. Only people know where it pinches and what they need to do for their territory. Mind you, you're dealing with tribes with different culture, philosophy, and values... And with these come different approach to tackle things which is customized for them.

How?

How exactly will that happen in Ekiti, Katsina or Ebonyi states
Engaging in brilliant ideas. There are many Ekitis in diaspora who can turn the IGR of the state around by setting up companies, agro, etc, but won't do it because of the present system of monkey dey work, baboon dey chop. The zeal won't be there. Electricity stability is also important to move any nation forward. Period.

This is the part I find intriguing about runz girls (and closet yahoo boys). The fact that they make no effort to balance their obvious income and recurring expenditure. Men are not fools, no one is a fool. If you have a 100k job and you are driving a car, living in a furnished apartment, changing phones like pant, spotting luxury bags...etc. It isn’t really nuclear physics you have a sponsor somewhere and some men won’t take you very seriously(not like they are ever serious sha).

Anyway, runz is so old school, sharp girls now do sponsors- okunrin meta (1 man with the ability of a thousand) grin. Go to the Island and you will see men that are ready to spend. If you don't involve yourself...Who go do am? That's why certain nonentities are ruling us. If you don't want to be like Daniel, then expect someone horrible to influence the affairs of your nation for unrighteousness.

The Church is yet to produce a coveted crop of leaders for this nation. But let's wait.

*Why sometimes I'm not impressed with Christians is even what they do at the office level. If the heart is not right, the affairs of the nation can't be. Forget their religious title or inclination.

Some are worse than those who are yet to know Christ (not that the Christians know Christ anyway, coz if they do, we would have known that they had been with Jesus), and we also have those who are shining light (but these ones are rarely interested in those positions).

Yes, a Christian can join politics and start engaging his or her community. God won't come down to turn it around when He has men dedicated to His course who can do it. The affairs of the earth He has given to the children of men.

Forgiving is okay. Taking back is the issue. Do the first, but run from the second. Don't open yourself to unnecessary attacks, and the best way to do this is to ghost. You know why? The half-brothers and sisters are still there who won't want you to pass them in success. They may laugh with you now, but when they start getting close, you are done for. Those who are from polygamous homes will understand, especially from the 60s-70s.

*Don't be docile. Start your own genealogy. Hide your head. Forget people wey dey tell you say get close. Forgiveness is not trust. Believe you me, God forgives us, but only trusts few men...and He doesn't allow everyone to get close despite His love. A sinner destroyeth much good.

The words of Solomon:

A man who has friends [a]must himself be friendly,
But there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24).

SecretSpy666:
Greetings Nairalanders,
I want to seek for you peoples opinions regarding my family challenges.

I'm from a broken home. My parents divorced when I was a child of two years. I'm the only child from their union. My father and mother abandoned me and remarried to other spouse each. I passed through hell growing up with relatives who insulted me with all kinds of names and I was treated like a slave to their own children.

Because of public outcry about my dehumanizing treatment, my father came to village and took me to the city. It was from fry pan to fire experience as my father's new wife was maltreating me. At a point, my father asked me to leave his house that since my arrival, he don't have peace with his wife.

I packed to the house of a relative and work in a block industry to help myself. Most times, I slept in a CAC church close to the relative house as the two-room apartment is not enough for his family. My mother never care if I was alive. She never call me nor reply to letter I sent through someone to her. I continued working in the block industry and started a part time programme. I completed the part time programme and did my NYSC and master degree. I got a job with University of Ado Ekiti with the help of a course mate, managing myself now and surprisingly my mother and father started calling me often.

Both of them have 6 children each with their respective second spouse. Mother want his son to come and live with me, I refused and my father too have been requesting for financial assistance which I also refused. I don't want to have anything to do with both of them. My father's daughter recently called me to help her with school fees, I bluntly told her to ask her mother what she did to me and caught the call. Since then, she never call.

I'm alone and have just two friends. I don't have family. All of them calling now are just looking for what to get from me, not that they care about me. My mother never call me once to ask about my welfare even when I sent my phone number to her through her relative. I wrote WAEC, completed degree course before she started calling me and it is only to request for one thing or other. I'm planning to get married without telling them and build a separate family.
