crap....crap....mega-crapKobojunkie: 1. Yes, we do. And the answer is No! A follower of Jesus Christ, one who lives in continuous submission to and obedience of the teachings( and commandments) of Jesus Christ ought not to work for perishable food aka daily bread, as commanded by Jesus Christ Himself in John 6 vs 25 - 33
2. I am afraid you delude your own self by pretending there exists some sort of separation in callings where Jesus Christ is concerned. There is no special divine callings separate from your regular born again Christian. Instead every single individual who believes in Jesus Christ is called to doing the exact same job, this by Jesus Christ, the one who calls all to Himself. And according to Jesus Christ, none of those who is called by Him is to rule over the others in much the same way as the leaders of the Gentiles aka politicians do - Matthew 20 vs 24 - 28.
3. So because King James translated the first Bible to a version owned the state and church of England, the translation then widely advertised and used by English missionaries even in Africa, that somehow means King James was called by God and his translation of scripture endorsed by God?
4. Wrong! The problem with the Nigerian Christian is you lot hold fast to the ways of this world this while pretending you do so for God's sake. You abandon God's Truth for the sake of the doctrines and traditions of men(and their churches/assemblies) all in your bid to attempt to hold hard that which is of this world while claiming you also have that which is of God. God is not an idiot. |
Christianity Etc › Re: Can A True Christian Be Actively Involved In Nigeria Politics As It Is Today? by twosquare(m): 1:14pm On Jun 12, 2022 |
Well said, I wouldn't have said it any better. Engr2016: Politics is just like other secular activities or occupations like engineering, medicine, business etc. Do you ever ask if a Christian can be an engineer, doctor , businessman etc? The right question should be : should a Prophet , Pastor, Preacher or any man of GOD leave his Divine calling or assignment to go into politics? The answer is a big No. Our Lord JESUS knew His assignment and purpose and that was why he avoid anything that could derail it. A regular born again christian (not a minister) can go into politics provided he can stand for the truth and avoid comprising godly standards. There are several good examples like that in the bible. Don't forget that even the most popular bible version today the KJV was supported by King James of England about 400 years ago. Before that time, ordinary citizens were not allowed to have a copy of the Hebrew/Greek/Latin bible versions which were mainly accessible by the clerics and elites. Tell me how it would have been possible if the king was a pagan that hate the gospel. The scriptures itself affirms that when the righteous rule, the people rejoice and vice versa. The problem we have in Nigeria is because majority of Christians that represented us failed woefully in standing for the truth . They easily blend with the evil trend. They aren't as bold as Daniel, Josep, Esther etc. President Obasanjo, Jonathan and even VP Osinbajo are all Christians o. Did they represent us well? Well , you can answer it yourself. Remember, even the first president/ head of state that ever declared war in Nigeria is a supposed christian - Gen Gowon. Ironically, he even declared it on a fellow Christian region of the South East. At the end, millions of lives were lost for the purpose of national ego. Is national ego or unity more than love for God and mankind ? How can a Christian president watch millions perish in war just like that? I hope Gowon has repented sha. We Christians should stop blaming non- Christians. The problem is with us. Let's fix it first. Remember Jesus said we are the light of the world and salt of the earth. |

If getting involved in it can get your relationship with God distorted, then we need to check the faith you're practising.
Daniel was a man of like-passion, that is someone under the Old Covenant ooo...For the shocker, Babylon was more corrupt than Nigeria, and he thrived there...if you feel it will taint your righteousness, then you are just still bearing the Christian tag, not an actual one. |

Of course, he stepped down at the primaries, but if these governors don't step down at the primaries, then we can say confidently that he was betrayed by them. Wait till then.
The issue is Buhari not wanting them to sweat it out at the primaries...which will make the coast clear for Atiku, another Fulani. |

Well, I have same issue...called their people to come take a look at it...they did and tell me say meter don condemn...the thing no dey bring out light or receive token again. He repaired some things to ensure it brings out light...but I am not buying anything for it since then. I just wish I could order for another new prepaid. Coz I dey reason dem go come one day, but before that day comes...make i no carry fine...i don tire jare. The personnel said there are many like that in town with condemned prepaid meters. I don't know why such prepaid brands no dey last. ravensckar: Bros, don't make that mistake of going to their office, e go be for you. There's a reason why they put that number there, so that you can call and reason with them like men. Perhaps they haven't even reported the case to their Oga with the expectation that you'll settle then and they will close their mouth.
A similar thing happened to me last year. I moved into a new apartment with a tampered meter. Since I didn't want to be a good Nigerian, meself join in the jamboree. Six months down the line, the matter cast and Baba Dem show face. The first thing that impressed them was that I didn't argue nor spoke any fanciful English word. Neither did I panicked as well. That level of confidence was heavenly. Las las, I roger them 40K and they looked the other way while I rectified it. Sometimes we just have to man up and face our issues without being unnecessarily afraid.
Sha don't claim right and don't be afraid. Na settlement dem go chop. |

I understand you perfectly, sir. I know what you meant...but I was trying to correct your diction... don't say sex is a sin, but rather say, sex outside husband and wife is a sin. Food is not a sin, but gluttony is. Wine is not a sin, but getting drunk is. sex is not a sin, but fornication and adultery are. Money is not sinful, but the love thereof is You understand the pattern. I say this because some preachers do say it that way and it affects the psyche of people when they get married, instead of them to enjoy sex. nokspos: i didn't support them , ofcourse i know sex is a sin , but i'm just saying that people no longer regard sex as sin |

nokspos: I know a married man who voluntarily allows his wife to sleep with another man coz the husband is always out of lagos and comes back once in a month. I know the husband and wife personally. The world is becoming something else , sex is no longer a sin Not a sin, but sex outside the confines of marriage as between husband and wife is...just decided to chip that in and correct that notion. |
