Well, as I was discussing with my colleagues just this past week, these are some things we pointed out:

Women are not given listening ear here in Nigeria... let's say, they are always placed under the men here..... So, when they go over there and see how their system works, they are literally carried away with that and are ready to exercise that freedom which they feel is unreal. This makes them look power intoxicated.
Secondly, African men especially Nigerian loves submissiveness die.. they always want to be in control (that's our culture, am not against that... On the contrary I want my man to always be a man...be in control), but over there, it's not like that.... you share in the chores...no category of chores are specially assigned to a gender. This is what our men finds very very difficult to adapt to. It's like trampling on their "manhood" especially when they were the ones who brought over the woman.
Guys, that's a developed nation, your culture don't really count there.
Thirdly, some women sees that opportunity as a payback time, they just want to cross over there first.

My conclusion for general purpose..... Please adjust your mentality of the African men before going there. Don't treat women as slaves where you can do anything that pleases you.
.... I know that people change, but try to know your partner well....(what they are capable of and what not)
If you are the type that is your wives best friend, I don't see the reason why you guys won't have a blissful marriage over there.
Women, don't still forget your culture totally... make use of the women-power there when necessary, don't use it to destroy your home.

I believe that moving to a better country is for the wellbeing of the whole family which should be a dream accomplished.... Don't go there and mess it up.

Won't work. I don't even have a dom account yet i use dollars and own one whenever i want to buy foreign products (tech-wise)...foreign account is an alternative. Dom shouldn't have surfaced in the first place, but now that it is, it is still counterproductive to ban it...it means most will just keep their forex in other countries that offer dollar accounts through companies. It is that simple.

Not true. There has never been a time when all demand for dollar has been met. This current price rises every day is pure economic sabotage. On Monday it was 735. Today its 790. How come.

Some people don't understand economics, and you can see some of them above...when demands outweigh supply, price shoots up. That official rate is lori iro, because the supply can't meet the demand...We are an import-based economy...from pharmaceuticals, to education, to manufacturing, etc. That is why the IMF & World bank have said rates should be unified.

Good initiative...It's a way of strengthening the naira because as it stands now,master card,visa card and verve cards are foreign owned and the banks pay for their services and products with foreign currencies....Our regular master and visa cards will be phased out gradually for local transactions.

Works of the flesh...they are sins of the flesh which the body carries out (Galatians 5:19-26)....those ones do not lead unto death...but the sin that leads to death is wrought in knowledge...there are not many presently who can commit it...and anyone who does is knowledgeable...

It is more of a willful departure...death here is not physical death (it is called sleep, those asleep), but this type is a sin committed by a "brother" (spiritual language)...that is why you can't pray about it because such a person is already gone, eaten up from within. Now, when you see "haters of God" (ignorant or not), it is one who is already inhaling the fragrance of sin unto death. However, to complete the cycle, such a person must have come to the knowledge of the truth (specific, not general believers) (See Hebrews 6:4-6), enlightened...it is not by mistake you commit such sin...you have seen beyond a reasonable doubt, and yet, willfully decide to love the path of this way (sin leading to death).

leading = talks of a way; being shown a path to reach a particular destination.
leading = also talks of something upon which takes you by hand and shows you how to do something (in this context, die). (Read Psalm 23:2).

Now, the sin is a path in itself that leads to a reward (death, which is the second death)

So, just as there is a righteousness leading to everlasting life....there is one in the negative leading to the opposite of everlasting life, which if you do very well...you will get death (the original).

Death here is gotten while still alive....read about those who got it in Jude 1:12 (@preciousgirl, if you can identify one in this verse, then you understand this).

Sin leading unto death is also the way of Cain....(it is the first man it was discovered inside, who expressed that life of sin that leads unto death. Read 1 John 3:12....not a coincidence it came up in the same epistle). This particular epistle we are discussing is a season of Philadelphia (brotherly love).

I am 28 years old, a graduate of one of the university in South West. I work as a contract staff in a bank.

I met this guy about a year ago through my best female friend, and the journey started. I took him to my parents and he also took me to his parents too, and the wedding preparation started.

We were suppose to do family introduction but my parents says there is no need considering some logistic reasons. Although my mum has her reservation concerning him. But since my father has no objection I think am good to go.

He has sent money for some preparation since he is not residing in Lagos. The problem started after I went to idumota with my aunt to buy our engagement clothes. It was my aunt that drove me to the market. When we returned, my fiance called me, we talked for some times, but he couldn't appreciate my aunt for her kind gesture. Although my aunt didn't say anything that day but she wasn't happy. My dad also complained that he has been rude to him. The same goes with my mum.

The last straw that broke the Carmels back was when he was arguing with my aunt over the phone. He did not know I was in my aunt's house that particular day. I wasn't happy at all, thinking that if he would not regard my parents how would he treat me after marriage.

So I confronted him the second day over the phone, telling him that I'm not happy about the way my parents where complaining about him, and that attitude of him is creating fear in me. Instead for him to be a little remoseful and even call those people and apologize, he was arguing with me, still in my aunt's house.

So I told him, maybe we should put the preparation on hold thinking he would at least try and apologize to them. He just said, is that what you want and ended the call.

Everyone was surprised. He didn't call back it was his mum that called my mum, she didn't even persuade them to stop me from taking such step, and the guy too didn't call me for like too weeks until when I called him and he said he wasn't interested in the marriage again.

Actually, I wasn't happy and I have been downcasted since then, but on the other hand, May l ask this question does this guy really loves me?. Is he really mature enough for marriage. Is it all my fault? Please don't insult or abuse me. I just want to know if it's all my fault.

Better run...don't you guys did counseling at first, no matter how little?

when a central bank raise interest rate.
your normal bank will also respond by raising their own interest rate.
with higher interest rate, people will tend to spend less and demand for goods and services will also drop, which will cause inflation to fall.
When demand is low, most companies won't raise their prices in order to stay competitive. since prices of goods and services aren't increasing that fast, you've managed to reduce inflation.
this is how CBN raising interest rates is meant to curb inflation.
but na Naija we dey, our own economics dey always different.
