HealthRe: Syringe-manufacturing Company Packs Up, Cites Challenging Business Situation by ubee(m): 6:58pm On Jan 03, 2024
Mumu people.
The jamboree and wild celebrations that ushered in the company made me ashamed of my state government and Nigerian leaders in general.

Syringe production anywhere in the world, no matter the quality, is a low-to-moderate profit venture, so it baffled me why there was so much noise about the project, when it was only going to employ a tiny fraction of citizens, and it was not going to provide much revenue to the state.

But typically with Nigerian leaders across all levels, the state government cannot manage a very uncomplicated factory that produces Syringe.

Useless people.
Car TalkRe: Opinions Needed: My Mechanic Said I Should Use Only Water First In New Radiator. by ubee(m): 7:54pm On Dec 28, 2023
The info I expected you to put down is "if your car is the type designed for coolant-only in the radiator.

But whether that's the case or not, I want to give you a very important advice.
*Always heed to the instructions from a source that your common sense tells you is more credible than the rest.

I bought a v6 Honda engine years back which is designed for coolant-only radiator. In the following months and years I met mechanics telling me that it's okay to use only water in the radiator.
Imagine the nonsense advice!

In the car manual, the owner is warned to use only 100% anti-freeze coolant, then some ignorant mechanics are looking for ways to destroy your peace and finances.

When you get a device or automobile, follow the instructions on the user manual
CrimeRe: Wisdom Onyekwere: 12-Year-Old Boy Missing In Lagos by ubee(m): 9:11pm On Dec 22, 2023
Imagine such a dumb reply you've posted to defend your crass and utterly foolish post.
And to think that you're a full grown adult who's had an education, it's shameful the type of twisted youth (like you) that abound in Naija today.

A boy got missing inside the house at the same time his father's phone got missing, and in your thoughts that should be enough for the child to be seen as a suspect who probably has stolen the phone?
Did someone switch your brain with a bird brain?
Do you realise how ridiculous you are?

Your mind needs some cleansing.

Just go away already
SharingIsLife:
Did you read the words I quoted before saying this? Or, must everybody be thoughtlessly sentimental like you. The boy got missing inside the house at the same time that the man's phone also got missing. Psalm 109:17 says that you love cursing; therefore let curses come upon you. Curses are your property, therefore let them not leave you. So be it. Amen! Amen!! Amen!!!
CrimeRe: Wisdom Onyekwere: 12-Year-Old Boy Missing In Lagos by ubee(m): 9:21am On Dec 22, 2023
Where do you and people that think like you come from?
What type of disease is afflicting you mentally and spiritually that makes you trivialise and mock tragic news such as this one?
Why are you not moved by families in agony and grief over their missing person?

May you remain cursed. You are just too evil.
If this was female you'll say she went over to a man's house for sex.

May you suffer for your sick and unconscionable words.
SharingIsLife:
A lot happening.

Looks like the boy stole his father's phone and ran away to go and sell it.
FoodRe: This Wicked Snake That's Killing My Christmas Chicken Was Finally Caught by ubee(m): 12:28pm On Dec 02, 2023
Go and find out what truly has killed your chickens.
It's definitely not this snake.
The extent to which a lot of Nigerians are ignorant and uninformed about a lot of life facts and principles surprises me.

That snake is sooooo small I find it difficult to call it a juvenile. It's still in It's not completely out of It's baby stage.

It cannot swallow an egg (if your chickens lay eggs), it obviously cannot swallow a chicken, so what's it doing in the chicken coop?

Even an adult viper would avoid chickens because they know they would be in danger of being pecked to death.

Go investigate if your chickens are sick, maybe from the feed you give them, or any of the avian diseases.
FoodRe: What Is Your Favourite Nigerian Native Dish? (pictures) by ubee(m): 8:13pm On Dec 01, 2023

I love Afang, atama, Editan, edikan ikong soup, usung ikpong(pounded yam made out of cocoyam), anem ye akang (I don't know how to literally translate this in English, but those from Akwa Ibom will understand) . All these are my native Ibibio soups and food and I love them so much.
AgricultureRe: I Killed The Big Rat (okete) Eating Our Cocoa pods by ubee(m): 7:44pm On Dec 01, 2023
No mind a lot of us Nigerians that turn words and meanings on their head and mostly behave as if we are more knowledgeable about a culture than the originators of the culture.

I first observed that some people call it rabbit when I stayed in Delta as a young man.
verifiablefacts:
Thank God you no call am rabbit as some would.
AgricultureRe: I Killed The Big Rat (okete) Eating Our Cocoa pods by ubee(m): 7:41pm On Dec 01, 2023
Which other big animals are you referring to?
You've basically mentioned all the animals one could possibly imagine available to you for consumption.
SyrusdeHansome:
Any meat outside chicken, goat, cow, pig, sheep and some other big animals count me out.
AgricultureRe: I Killed The Big Rat (okete) Eating Our Cocoa pods by ubee(m): 7:30pm On Dec 01, 2023
That rat is called a 'pouched rat'.

It can be seen in the entirety of the South of the country.

I'm not sure if it's seen in the middle belt and North.

It's brown colour is noticeably lighter than that of the common rat we have in the country. The lower part of it's tail is white and scaled.

Your moniker @Jokerman is fitting.
Like are you practicing being a comedian or what?

You call a 4 team group including two traditionally strong teams and two perennial minnows a "group of death".

Do you even understand what a "group of death" in a football tournament means? grin grin

FashionRe: Is This Fashion Or Madness? by ubee(m): 5:23pm On Sep 26, 2023
You're pretty certain? Hahaha! You'd be surprised.
I wouldn't be certain in today's world.
Is it not in Nigeria and the world at large we live in today?

The type of opinions and perspectives I've seen full grown adults put out in recent years makes me realize that there has been a steep degeneration in people's minds over the years.

Being an adult doesn't come with the assured sense and responsibility of yesteryears.

The audacity to try to diminish my post by calling my points fiction only to go ahead to show you no nothing about the discussion at hand.

1) Look up the laws that were constituted in 2020 to protect animals from poaching and conserve their habitat.
Maybe you're Omniscient god to be aware that they are not enforcing it.

2) I won't argue with you on whether Chinese 'Wet Markets' are still a thing over there. But what I know for a fact is that they have been outlawed.
3) Your last point is ridiculous. Smh
ivolt:
I don't know where you get this from but it is just fiction.
Nothing is strictly enforced in China, aside government power.
Wildlife is even worse.
Animals that can earn you a jail term in some European countries are
openly sold in Chinese market.

99% of illegal wildlife trades involve the Chinese one way or the other.
FoodRe: Fisherman Catches A Shark In Bayelsa Community (Pictures) by ubee(m): 7:12am On Sep 23, 2023
Nope. There are no worse countries.
It's about control. Regulation to ensure that the level of poaching wildlife does not threaten it's existence and possibly cause extinction for some animal species.

The country most famous for eating almost anything that moves is China, but they have regulation over there to ensure that the wildlife is not in danger of extinction and it is strictly enforced.
But here it is a crying matter, as there are countless animal species that have long gone extinct in Nigeria.
ivolt:
There are worse countries out there.

FoodRe: See The Pouched Rat I Killed Beside Our House by ubee(m): 8:46pm On Jul 21, 2023
This is not "bush rat". Neither is it the common Rat that is endemic across the entire country as you think it is.
I know a lot of Nigerian's have their names for different animals and try to ignorantly enforce the names as correct, but just try to learn the correct thing.
The OP called it correctly. This is a "Pouched Rat", or "Giant Pouched Rat"
Some Nigerian's wrongly call it rabbit too, like I've seen one do on the comments.
The white and scaled lower tail of this one distinguishes it from the other rats.
It's fur colour, which has a greyish appearance and a bit lighter also is another factor.
Easybet1:
How I wish you can come to my area, for our dustbin outside, you will kill 20 bigger than this. Imagine eating Rat and call it bush rat.... No be only bush rat, na farm rat you go see

Firstly, i find it comical, and to be frank, bizarre that Nairaland censors a word like (i will type it as it sounds) "Jenny-tail-ya" - which is a totally appropriate word that means the sex organs of humans. They replaced it with - "instruments" 😃😭😂
But they don't censor words like toto, pussy and dick, which are actually inappropriate words.

Anyway me and you no dey quarrel so no need to sound belligerent.
You are criticising licking of toes, but you obviously have no problem with MouthAction, since you don't have any history of publicly criticising the act. Stop being vague with the way you're trying to project your sexual preferences. You say you find licking of saliva weird, but you do it, or have done it abi? So what's the need of saying you find it weird?

My outlook on the matter still stands. You can't criticise licking of toes when you have no problem with MouthAction.
P.s: chai Nairaland mods you guys are weird. So you find the word (i will type it as it sounds) - "0rallseks" inappropriate to post on your platform.
You replaced it with "MouthAction" 😃😭
You guys should bring in qualified, adequately educated and enlightened individuals to conduct affairs in your business. You're immersed in mediocrity as it is, to be very honest. Smh
