Crime / Re: Court Convicts 17 Internet Fraudsters In Uyo (Photos) by ubee(m): 7:31pm On Sep 20, 2021 |
You know a country is basically finished when even their judiciary and entire justice system is inept and shallow. How on earth should internet fraudsters in Nigeria be given 6 month jail terms? These guys literally destroy lives and leave families in tatters by their criminal activities. They spend their time daily devising ways to steal from people. Our image abroad has been completely sullied and disgraced making life difficult for honest Nigerian's. They are even afforded a gift of an option of a fine? Which kind of curse is on our head? jaybenugo: 2 Likes |

Holier than thou hypocrites like you are one of the real problems we have in Naija. You have all the time to follow the show whether on the TV screen or the Internet, you watch and assimilate the events, but you come out here to pretend you are offended. We are in a country that our leaders have irreversibly damaged generations of families across every ethnic group by looting and pillaging our wealth sharing it amongst themselves. Poverty has been imposed on people who were hardworking and creative people, robberies, criminals raping and murdering people, and your problem is Bb Naija in a secular society? You don't know anything. Meanwhile stop that lie you said that the show was banned in SA and some other African countries. Multichoice figured out that they could make even more money by hosting the Nigerian version, by the indices they were picking up all those years it was open multiple countries. The show has a monstrous following in Nigeria, and we have the population to sustain it. So it's a case of them spending less to get even much more. KingAzari: 1 Like |

Politics / Re: Masari On VAT: Northern States Responsible For Lagos, Rivers Development by ubee(m): 3:46pm On Sep 19, 2021 |
Be concerned about the state Tax collected in your own state of origin, and how it is used to sustain the state. Leave Lagos and other states to have their authority over collection of domestic Taxes in their own states. When Lagos needs revenue to develop and rehabilitate infrastructures and sustain the state, they do not go like nosy thieves to ask the Northern region for money or ideas. My God! What type of shameless leaders do we have in this country? Imagine what this quack governor is saying! Enugupikin: |

See your mouth like "Nigeria should abolish the death penalty"..... because you hear lobby groups in US campaign for it, and you know some countries don't practice it, you sef join dey talk. If person ask you what is the necessity for it to be abolished in Naija as important to building our own unique society, you no go fit answer. angelfallz: |
Politics / Re: Ganduje: Why Governors Are Afraid Of Signing Death Warrants by ubee(m): 12:21pm On Sep 19, 2021 |
See this one talking as if Nigerian governor's reluctance to sign death warrants is a problem that started in the recent past. This has been the trend amongst our governors since time immemorial. They are proud to hold the office, but are not ready to develop and strengthen the know-how required to be dynamic and progressive leaders. I have often wondered how it could be so difficult for governors to sign warrants for instance for convicts that committed gruesome murders. A lot of them are taking up space in jail, while adding to prison over population. |

These are the type of occurrences you pray not to even occur in your dream, but unfortunately they happen much more often than we hear about. It is a horrific blow to the child's family. The agony is unthinkable. And when I see cases like this happen I always connect it back to a country where the leadership have no ideas or vision that can entrench law and order in the land. People do things here with no regulation. What are the laws for having numerous dogs in one's yard? What is the stipulated punishment one gets if their dogs maul a human to death? When we don't have civil laws and regulations put in place to protect us these things happen. In well governed societies for instance it is required by law that any pet dog or cat must have their rabies shot to prevent transmission to humans, and if somehow your pet bites someone and it is discovered that it was not given the rabies treatment, that is a one way ticket to jail for the owner. |

Sports / Re: Medvedev Beats Djokovic To Win US Open by ubee(m): 8:26am On Sep 13, 2021 |
You obviously do not understand what it means or what it takes to call someone a sore loser. The 'objects' you say he destroys is nothing outside of a tennis racket, and it is always on the court, and most importantly to refute you accusation - it is always done in the middle of his matches and not at the end of losses to opponents. You can't call him a sore loser when he almost always behaves and congratulates his opponents after a loss as warmly as he did Medvedev. I am a huge Nadal fan btw. Just to put that out here. I am certain Novak isn't a sore lower. KosiGee: 1 Like |

In the post you say you don't support lynching and cannot be involved in it, but in the same post you say that you'll support a lynching with fuel and tyre. Do you realize how dumb you sound? If you try to be rational, you would see that this your post is better directed to Zubby Michael. He is totally out of order for insulting Annie. He could have made a strong point without insulting her. So considering the fact he's not married, it makes him open for people to question his understanding of the situation. Nyamve1: |

I totally understand and support the idea of ensuring that traffic flows smoothing around the stadium road and it's axis ahead of the arrival of our guest and during exit, but I'm wondering if they could not dispatch transport officials to be stationed on the roads to direct and control and enforce smooth traffic without having to divert the routes entirely. Hmmm, this is Liberia o! That means if it was one of the football world, powers like Brazil and England they for forbid citizens entirelyfrom even driving car on those roads. |

Shikena! That's the word. "Leadership". Leadership has been our bane from the first indigenous leader till this present one. It shouldn't be hard to know, and you'd think a lot of guys on the thread will mention it. I was tempted to say "mind-set" like someone on this thread said, but the right option is leadership. If that is fixed. Everything else will fall in place correctly dammie4j: 1 Like |

My guy most of us have our own horrible shock experience. The one that comes to my mind happened in my sec skool back in school. I was just sitting in one of our labs and got a horrible shock on my knee inside one of the lab cabinet's. This shock was so bad it drew a little blood, leaving a visible wound. Years later when i think about it i get so angry why a school authority is so careless to have an exposed socket uncovered in the lab. Darkseid: |

You are mentioning databases?Which databases? You mentioned that we are not harnessing them, and that explains it all. But i will further say it's more like we don't have the know-how to use them to get investigative results, and that says it all. Our security outfits are a joke, and a clear example to point out is the handling of the Chidinma/Ataga case. A suspect has just been arrested, and before a blink of an eye, she's done numerous interviews in front of the press, and government agencies. Now she's made a mockery the system by denying committing the murder she initially confessed to have done. Abeg leave our matter jare. I will be at the forefront of praising our system if it's good enough. We are just a joke. modsfucker: |

The crime/forensic documentaries you like to watch, a multitude of us on this forum have watched too. Many probably much more than you have. But you should not drift into delusions about the capabilities or the know-how of our security forces compared to those in the Western world. It was funny, and a bit annoying seeing your post. Jobs/Vacancies / Re: Why Is Nigeria Not Using The Hourly Payment System? by ubee(m): 6:14pm On Sep 01, 2021 |
Different guys go just wan create traffic on NL by asking irrelevant questions of which the answer is staring them in the face. Hourly payment works in societies were everything is working like a finely oiled machine. Fiscal accountability, constant power, security, roads, very healthy GDP in a very wealthy and sophisticated economy. None of those qualities i stated above can be attributed to Nigeria, which ensures we are not even nearly ready for hourly payment. 3 Likes |

This statement is very popularly used by our police. It has become so irritating to hear because anyone with a brain knows that 99% of the times it's lies. Is your question rhetorical or what? Imagine living in a country where people are dropping like flies daily from the bullets, machete's and daggers of terrorists. A country where all sorts of grisly mass slaughter of human beings happens every other day. Or is it beheading of a human that sounds strange to the ears of a Nigerian? So also help me imagine the irony of a Nigerian asking - "What's Ghana turning to" because of this story? skallion7: |

My reply to your first paragraph - Stop trying to be 'slick'. Just own up that you overly exaggerated with the age. I acknowledged the point you were trying to make. 2nd paragraph - Your post has been reasonably rational, so no need to go the route of classless insults at folks that criticize the dress. We are all complaining about the realities of sick child predators in the world today, but are refusing to apply the adjustment into the lives of our children. They are little yes, but they are out there in the view of sick predators. Shield them! Protect their innocence! Now look how high that skirt is. Can you allow your 16, 17 to mid twenties girl to wear that? If not then why are you okay with a 3 year old wearing it? Wearing that cloth is sexualising her in today's world. That is our sad reality. 3rd paragraph - your point about the depravity of contemporary men as opposed to our Father's is correct, but don't make it be like a "men back then vs men today" issue. If you switch places between our fathers and today's men, this depravity will still be there. It had been foretold in the scriptures. Its the inevitable. Paragraph 4: If you can understand and appreciate my previous points on this post, you will understand what changed. Have a nice day. Ladycewhy: 1 Like |
