This specie is called the Northern White-faced Owl. This embarrassing behaviour of a lot of us Nigerians capturing and killing most wildlife that cross our path is just sad. |
Are students in high institutions using cars as a symbol of showing off and revving up their engines to attract attention even in the cataclysmic economy and country we are in today? Are they not feeling this hardship? What's wrong with these children? |
But hold on, who employs three domestic workers on the same day? Some of the elite in Naija just exist in their opulent areas without learning or innovating ways by which wealthy people take measures to protect themselves. The three workers were most likely sourced by a single agency, and they probably had known each other for a substantive time period. The likelihood of this murder occuring would be greatly lowered if they all were not initially acquainted and we're employed separately. |
Please can you explain this statement? What do you mean? Lucifyre: |
Mr man that laughter is you laughing at yourself o! What the OP posted is in order. It's a metaphorical expression to describe an action in English communication. In simple terms it could be put as "Wizkid goes back on ...... whytediamond: |
It's not about the hunger in the land that we are experiencing today. This act is typical with us here in Naija. An animal carcass washes offshore, a crowd of people go in to take off their share of the carcass, no matter the condition. Putrid, covered in oil, etc. People just take off their share to go eat at home. God1000: |
This is a proper irony of ironies. His first name is - "Endwell". Tragic! |
You sound so naive it's quite laughable ![]() You almost sound like you just moved into Nigeria for the first time few months back. Please don't tell me you went to boarding school, because it would make your post sound much more ridiculous. In my days of secondary school alone (very many years ago) I witnessed at least three instances of a student being beaten by a mob of his fellow students. I mean beaten savagely. This terrible act is common across the country. We are a society filled with degenerate youth. ayanbaba2: |
All you guys using this incident to make a blanket accusation of Yoruba people as evil are extremely foolish. The school is located deep in the heart of Yoruba land in Ado Ekiti where naturally an overwhelming majority of the students are Yoruba. What did you expect? You expect a homogenous mix of several ethnic groups? If this school was in Ibo land it would probably be 100% Ibo's that would beat the boy to death. Stop using any small opportunity to spew ethnic hate. You are Igbo, and I will say this with every sense of honesty in me. Your people have a much more notorious reputation of committing violence and the other vices. Stop with the hate. The HumanObserver: |
There are some special class of hypocrites and ignoramuses that are on this thread. They condemn this wicked act, yet they support and/or partake in jungle justice when armed robbers and/or even petty thieves are caught, just as in this instance with the Warri Prince. Only a soulless, cold-blooded monster would support jungle justice, and unfortunately the Nigerian populace is teeming with people in that category. The past several years of my life, I've had many times when I get numb in shock when I often found myself being the only one amongst a group of several colleagues that condemn JJ during a discussion. It's crazy how brutal and blood thirsty most Nigerian youth are. Look at these ones that beat their fellow student from evening till the next day. Unbelievable! It's Unbelievable. |
It's bad enough having to endure bad leadership or lack of leadership entirely that continues destroying this country daily. But one of the most critical problems I've personally identified as our main achilles heel is the existence of incredibly ignorant and foolish citizens like you. You are so empty, I shuddered in disbelief at the utter ignorance you displayed by this post. jeromestarks: |
Them present this food to you at gun point? |

Why should one subscribe to your channel when your reporting style is like that of one of the many types that abound in this Nairaland. You just post a clip of a snake. Where is the location. You did not post any other useful information to make the story worth taking in. It's very that place isn't even in Naija. officialwdhtv: |
Human beings dey wey dey enjoy Life Beer? lilvicky68: |
Please refer me to any part of the story that the word "husband" was used? Smh! wetrlr: |
Your comprehension and communication of English language is really poor. SaLongs1: |
Are you trying to sound comedic when you state that Nairaland forum is - "supposed to have some of the most enlightened minds?" Nairaland is inundated with some of the most uneducated and shallow minds we have in the country. SaLongs1: |
What is the point of this question? Did he say there's justification for Sins? taiwotimitt: |
People like you are the worst! You are trying to hide behind the cloak of pretense in pointing out that the child really looks like Nathaniel, just stopping short if going full blast in claiming that it is Nathaniel's child like this comedian did, so that you cannot be easily identified as a trouble maker making criminal allegations. You are a coward. What has the child looking like Nathaniel got to do with anything? There's a point I have been putting forth to all the defamatory gossip peddlers like you and your ilk who loves engaging in this disrespectful gossip. - If Mercy and Nathaniel were not musical associates who have severally toured together, not a single person across the whole social media and country as a whole would have seen any resemblance anywhere. There would have been no such observation and story. Yeye people. Proudman1: |
I see that a significant portion of the commentary on this story are people condemning the foolish individuals that criminally maligned the reputations of Mercy Chinwo, and Nathaniel Bassey with the scandalous and defamatory claims. I would have been totally pleased and encouraged about that, if it did not reveal a deep level of hypocrisy and treacherousness amongst us Nigerian youth and citizenry in general. (What do I mean?) If you all go back to the previous headlines posted on Nairaland about this saga, you will see that a high percentage of the comments are in support of the defamatory news by those bloggers. So this means that a lot of the folks posting in support of Mercy Chinwo and Nathaniel on this thread are people that mocked them and peddled the falsehood a matter of days earlier. What changed? They are trying to chameleon themselves away from the shame and condemnation that has befallen the criminal bloggers who started this accusations. For everyone seeing this my post, if you have come out to comment in solidarity of Chinwo and Bassey, after earlier mocking them or peddling the false news, I want to say that you are all cowards beyond imagination. You are slimy, hypocrites and you are snakes. My prayer this moment is that may you pay for your acts one way or the other in this life. May you suffer for your behaviour. Amen. |
You are dull. forerunner022: |
Your statement is disjointed and quite confused. To make your statement credible you would have added words such as these - ...... just as an Akwa Ibom man is not a Calabar Man, but some Calabar men can be referred to as Akwa Ibom men because they speak Efik. But more importantly there should be no mention of whether one can a particular language or not here. The crux of the matter is that (as quoted in the interview) he adopted the stereotype used against people from Akwa/Cross region by describing himself as a "Calabar Man". He was wrong and showed great ignorance in using that term. Edit: I have seen a couple of comments with people confirming that the guy is really from Cross River state. This means he was right to describe himself as a Calabar guy. That he chooses to embrace the false stereotype about people from his region is his problem.quote author=We4all post=128720505] A Calabar man is not an Akwa Ibom man, but some Akwa Ibom men can be referred to as Calabar men because they speak efik. Do you understand now?[/quote] |

uniquetechng:The person he quoted isn't right as you wrongly claim. In fact the person is just embarrassing and dumb for going on a rant and insulting people. while accusing them for an offence they are not guilty of. If you read the article, it is the man himself - "Etim Effiong" - that describes himself as a 'Calabar Man'. So he is foolishly propagating the stereotype often used to collectively refer all people of AkwaIbom and Cross River origin, without recognising that Akwa Ibom people are not Calabar people. It is not anyone on this threads fault if they follow suit and use the term - "Calabar Man" - because they are rightfully working with the information they got from the Horse's mouth. For what it's worth, I'm AkwaIbomite... |
Hold on o! In a single pot of Egusi, you put Chicken, pomo, goat meat, and Titus, all with Dry fish and Stock fish? Are you sure you are mentally okay? |
It's like they put Jazz in their mouth as they mentioned the price of the food to you. Or maybe you were forced to buy it at gun point. Mtcheew! |
Our leaders are corrupt, lieing thieves and we the citizens seem to be packed with people that are no different. Imagine a Nairalander under no form of duress, anonymous behind a device just telling lies casually that he killed a rat, and stealing a 2 year old picture from the Internet of webbed feet rat (which is found nowhere in Nigeria) claiming he killed it here in Naija. The OP I want you to know you are just useless. |
The typical inept and bland method by which most reporters construct their writeups in this country. After reading their stories, you are left puzzled and with questions, rather than having a clear understanding of what transpired in an incident. Feed lion how? Was he in their enclosure standing up close in their midst while feeding them? I think a normal human being with a functional brain will feed lions from behind a separation between human and beasts, so how did the lion seize him? Why can't this be clarified? |
Just quit being an impulsive liar. It's really a very bad trait. And especially this your type that you lied when there was no prompting factor whatsoever. You were not under duress, and you were conveniently behind the cloak of anonymity that the Internet provides. Why did you have to lie? You are full grown man in your forties. Act like one. Ogiame: |
Sometimes I wonder how people like you could so compulsively tell unnecessary lies even with the cover of anonymity that the Internet provides for you. Your first two comments on this thread where you go nostalgic about the Bread while mentioning mainstay brands of the 80's like "Blue Band" and "Limca" clearly prove that you are someone who lived his childhood through the 80's. The Bread was effectively off the streets by even the mid-nineties so there's no way you can try to claim you were born at the back-end of the eighties. In fact I am even doing an overkill with my points to point out your lie. The big point here is that there's no way some who's nostalgic about Limca and BlueBand would not be in their forties today, or at least the end of thirties - which is still quite unlikely. Grow up and stop telling lies for fun. Ogiame: |
I have often wondered and asked folks during discussions why we are never able to enforce laws - (civil laws in particular) in this country. If you go through the history of this Mandillas issue, you'll definitely see that this is like the millionth time that government has to take action to rid the walkways and streets of the illegal structures. After a month or so (and even possibly few weeks) the illegal trading and structures will return. We are not a serious people in Nigeria |
