vedaxcool: The report sounds a bit illogical, would the pope resign over a scandal that he is not involved in? It seems more like media people making a field day out of this resignation, this is not the first time a pope would resign! Secondly one would expect the pope in such a situation to crack down on such foolishness rather than run to hide in a monastery as if being chased by the devil? grin grin any way nothing is impossible but before Ratzinger became pope he was referred to as doctrine enforcer, how would someone who enjoyed hounding catholic priest who did not tow the line of the official catholic doctrine suddenly become scared stiff of some hoodlum gay priests?
the press decided to cook up stories for us all.

elampiro: Cardinal: Married Catholic priests a possibility
Associated Press - 12 hrs ago
LONDON (AP) — Roman Catholic priests should be allowed to marry and have children, Britain's most senior Catholic cleric said Friday.

Cardinal Keith O'Brien, who heads the Roman Catholic Church in Scotland, said the requirement for priestly celibacy is "not of divine origin" and could be reconsidered.

He told BBC Scotland that "the celibacy of the clergy, whether priests should marry — Jesus didn't say that."

He said that "many priests have found it very difficult to cope with celibacy," and while he had never considered marriage himself, "I would be very happy if others had the opportunity of considering whether or not they could or should get married."

O'Brien, 74, will form part of the conclave of cardinals that chooses the next pontiff, following the resignation of Pope Benedict XVI.

Benedict announced earlier this month that he will step down Feb. 28 — the first pope to resign in almost 600 years.

The cardinal said that the next pope would be free to consider changing church policy on issues, such as celibacy for priests, that were not "basic dogmatic beliefs."

He said that "we know at the present time in some branches of the church — in some branches of the Catholic church — priests can get married, so that is obviously not of divine origin and it could get discussed again."

In recent years a number of traditionalist Anglicans opposed to the ordination of women and other changes have joined the Roman Catholic Church. The pope granted special dispensation for married Anglican clergy to stay married and be ordained in the Catholic Church.

O'Brien also said it was time to think seriously about having a pope from outside Europe.

He said he would be "open to a pope from anywhere if I thought it was the right man, whether it was Europe or Asia or Africa or wherever."
http://news.yahoo.com/cardinal-married-catholic-priests-possibility-172115510.html. ........

Mathew 19: 11-12Jesus replied, “Not everyone can accept this word (celibacy), but only those to whom it has been given. 12 For there are eunuchs who were born that way, and there are eunuchs who have been made eunuchs by others—and there are those who choose to live like eunuchs for the sake of the kingdom of heaven. The one who can accept this should accept it.”

....... Cardinals like this are enough to give the Pope plenty headache.
recent news says about 3 dioceses recently reported card O'brien for inappriopriete advances. God alone knows what the guy has up his sleves, that not withstanding his comments are in line with catholic teaching.

lexio: Making use of "The Catholic Priests" is way off the track. Not all catholic priest are homosexuals. Some are. As to your question, the Catholic church authorities isn't taking it lightly especially in the seminaries were priests are formed. A little suspicion of being gay is all that is needed to get a young man expelled. He doesn't leave alone. All his friends especially close ones even those with no manifested gay tendencies will need a miracle not to get expelled. A Gay priest once detected is in for serious disciplinary action which does not exclude laizication (loss of clerical state).

STORY HIGHLIGHTS

Three cardinals reportedly discovered an underground network of gay priests
Pope Benedict announced Feb. 11 he would resign Feb. 28
The Vatican will not comment on the reports of the cardinals' investigation
The Italian media is reporting that Pope Benedict XVI resigned after receiving the results of an internal investigation, delivered in a 300-page, two-volume dossier, that laid bare a sordid tale of blackmail, corruption and gay sex at the Vatican.

The respected Italian newspaper La Repubblica reported Friday that the report stamped "Pontifical Secret," contained "an exact map of the mischief and the bad fish" inside the Holy See.

The newspaper said the findings of the nine-month investigation, headed by Spanish cardinal, Julian Herranz , with the assistance of Cardinal Salvatore De Giorgi, former archbishop of Palermo, and Slovak cardinal Jozef Tomko, was delivered to the pope on Dec. 17, 2012.

"It was on that day, with those papers on his desk, that Benedict XVI took the decision he had mulled over for so long,'' the newspaper said.

La Repubblica said the panel drew upon "dozens and dozens" of interviews with bishops, cardinals and lay people. It said the pope was kept apprised of the investigation in weekly meetings from April until December. The final, bound in red leather, is being kept in a safe in the pope's Vatican quarters, the newspaper said.

A similar story was carried by Panorama, a conservative weekly.

"What's coming out is a very detailed X-ray of the Roman Curia that does not spare even the closest collaborators of the pope," respected Vatican expert Ignazio Ingrao writes in Panorama. "The pope was no stranger to the intrigues, but he probably did not know that under his pontificate there was such a complex network and such intricate chains of personal interests and unmentionable relationships."

A Vatican spokesman, the Rev. Federico Lombardi, has refused to comment on the reports.

"Neither the cardinals' commission nor I will make comments to confirm or deny the things that are said about this matter. Let each one assume his or her own responsibilities. We shall not be following up on the observations that are made about this,'' Lombardi said, according to the German news agency Deutsche Presse-Agentur.

In announcing his resignation Feb. 11, Benedict said that he no longer had the "strength of mind and body" to carry on. A conclave will select a new pope next month.

Lombardi has indicated that Benedict would meet with the three cardinals before stepping down Feb. 28, in one of his final private audiences.

La Repubblica reported that the pope would personally hand the confidential files to his successor, with the hope he will be ''strong, young and holy'' enough to take the necessary action.

The investigation was triggered last May when the pope's butler, Paolo Gabriele, was arrested and charged with having stolen and leaked papal correspondence that depicted the Vatican as a hotbed of intrigue.

The papers were published in a blockbuster book. The butler was convicted in October of aggravated theft, and later pardoned.

The three-man panel, according to La Repubblica, discovered an underground gay network whose members organized sexual meetings in several locations, including a villa outside Rome, a sauna in Rome's Cuarto Miligo distirct and even in a beauty salon inside the Vatican.

The gatherings, in turn, left them open to blackmail from people outside the Vatican, the report said, according to the newspaper.

La Repubblica quoted an unidentified man described as ''very close'' to the authors of the dossier as saying it contained information about violations of the sixth and seventh commandments, which forbid adultery and stealing.

The British newspaper, The Guardian, notes that the sixth commandment also "is linked in Catholic doctrine to the proscribing of homosexual acts."

The U.S. website, The Daily Beast, reports that investigative journalist Carmello Abbate went undercover with a hidden camera in 2010 in Rome to produce an expose called Good Nights Out for Gay Priests.

The scandal has erupted as the pope is clearing the decks of his pontificate, tweaking the rules of the conclave, finessing the religious rites used to launch the next papacy and making some eyebrow-raising final appointments before he retires next week.

The Vatican newspaper L'Osservatore Romano said in editions published late Friday that Benedict had signed a decree earlier in the week making some changes to the papal installation Mass, separating out the actual rite of installation from the liturgy itself.

Vatican Undersecretary for the Relations with States, Monsignor Ettore Balestrero, arrives for a press conference at the Vatican in July.(Photo: Domenico Stinellis, AP)
He is also studying the text of a separate document governing the rules of the conclave, though it's not known if it will address the thorny issue of whether the election can begin earlier than March 15, by some interpretations the earliest the vote can start under the current rules.

And on Friday, the Vatican announced Benedict had transferred a top official in the secretariat of state, Monsignor Ettore Balestrero, to Colombia.

Some of the documents leaked in the midst of the "Vatileaks" scandal concerned differences of opinion about the level of financial transparency the Holy See should provide about the bank, the Institute for Religious Works. However, Balestrero himself wasn't named in any significant way in the leaks.

Lombardi said Balestrero's transfer had been months in the works, was a clear promotion and had nothing to do with what the Vatican considers baseless reporting.

Christianity Etc › What Is Lent About? by Ubenedictus(op): 4:45am On Feb 25, 2013
Dear brothers and sisters! Last Wednesday, with the traditional distribution of ashes, we entered into Lent, a time of conversion and penance in preparation for Easter. The Church, who is mother and teacher, calls all of her members to renew themselves spiritually, to reorient themselves toward God, renouncing pride and egoism to live in love. In this Year of Faith Easter is a favorable time to rediscover faith in God as a basic criterion for our life and the life of the Church. This always means a struggle, a spiritual combat, because the evil spirit naturally opposes our sanctification and seeks to turn us away from the path to God. That is why each year on the first Sunday of Lent the Gospel narrative of Jesus’ temptation in the desert is proclaimed.
Jesus, in fact, after having received “investiture” as Messiah – “anointed” with the Spirit – at the baptism in the Jordan, was led by the same Spirit into the desert to be tempted by the devil. At the beginning of his public ministry Jesus had to unmask and reject the false images of the Messiah that the tempter proposed to him. But these temptations are also false images of man, which always harass our conscience, disguising themselves as suitable, effective and even good proposals. The evangelists Matthew and Luke present 3 temptations of Jesus, differing in part only in the order. The nucleus of these temptations always consists in instrumentalizing God for our own interests, giving more importance to success or to material goods. The tempter is clever: he does not direct us immediately towar evil but toward a false good, making us believe that power and things that satiate primary needs are what is most real. In this manner God becomes secondary; he is reduced to a means, he becomes unreal, he no longer counts, he disappears. In the final analysis, faith is what is at stake in temptations because God is at stake. In the decisive moments of life and, in fact, in every moment of life, we are faced with a choice: do we want to follow the “I” or God? Do we want to follow individual interest or rather the true Good, that which is really good?
As the Fathers of the Church teach us, temptations are of Jesus’ “descent” into our human condition, into the abyss of sin and its consequences. A “descent” that Jesus undertook to the very end, to the point of death on the cross and the descent into the netherworld (inferi) of extreme distance from God. In this way he is the hand of God extended to man, to the lost sheep, to bring back him to safety. As St. Augustine teaches, Jesus has taken temptations from us to give us his victory (cf. Enarr. in Psalmos, 60,3: PL 36, 724). Therefore, we too are not afraid to face combat with the evil spirit: the important point is that we do it with him, with Christ, the Victor. And to stand with him we turn to the Mother, Mary: let us invoke her with filial confidence in the hour of trial, and she will make us feel the powerful presence her divine Son, to reject the temptations with the Word of Christ, and so to put God once again at the center of our life.

Christianity Etc › Re: Pope"s Resignation : Matters Arising by Ubenedictus(m): 4:21am On Feb 25, 2013
My dear, who died and made u judge?
badjack: Much talked resignation of Pope Benedict XVI. I know some of you may disagree with me. I am not surprise that this is happening now. Pope Benedict XVI had no business becoming Pope in the first place. The unnecessary politics in the Vatican warranted this whole thing.

After Pope John Paul II, it was obvious that the next Pope was supposed to be Cardinal Arinze. The racism in the Catholic Church took over this reality. It is a very big shame that the Catholic Church that has been around for over 1000 years has not gotten a simple black Pope or from another race other than Caucasian. Don’t get me wrong, I am not racist but I will see justice in a situation where in my church, I will be taken as a second class citizen just because of my race. That is smelly. I am a good Catholic but I am not comfortable with the racist politics going on in the secretive Vatican.

The real truth about Pope Benedict’s resignation is that there are lots of pressures on him towards liberalization. He as conservative is not ready to bend the age long laws of the Catholic Church. Some of these laws are Women ordination, Condoms, abortion, contraceptives, handling sexual abuses by priest to minor, the ever increasing divorce cases and the role people divorce will play in the Church.

The liberalists are growing in number and influence. This is unsettling the pope. Some of them are even powerful in the Vatican and in the hierarchy of the Catholic Church.
John Paul was shot at close range; he survived but did not resign. He even had Parkinson disease but did not resign. He continues till death. So be the judge yourself.
a point of correction it wasnt "obvious" that card arinze would become pope, infact there were many things were joseph excelled over arinze. The papacy isnt abt who u want to b there, it is abt who God chooses thru d bishop and anyone chosen by d next conclave is d new pope and i welcome him.
Christianity Etc › Pope Benedicts Last Angelus Address by Ubenedictus(op): 3:37am On Feb 25, 2013
Dear brothers and sisters!
Thank you for your affection!
Today, the second Sunday of Lent, we have a particularly beautiful Gospel, that of the Lord’s transfiguration. The evangelist Luke especially emphasizes the fact that Jesus is transfigured while he prays: Jesus’ is a profound experience of relationship with the Father during a kind of spiritual retreat on a high mountain together with Peter, James, and John, the 3 disciples who are always present in the moments of the Master’s divine manifestations (Luke 5:10, 8:51, 9:28). The Lord, who a short time ago foretold his death and resurrection (Luke 9:22), offers to his disciples an anticipation of his glory. And in the transfiguration too, as in the baptism, the voice of the heavenly Father resounds: “This is my Son, the chosen one. Listen to him!” (Luke 9:35). The presence then of Moses and Elijah, who represent the Law and the Prophets of the Old Covenant, is of great significance: the whole history of covenant is ordered to him, the Christ, who accomplishes a new “exodus” (Luke 9:31), not toward the promised land as in the time of Moses, but toward heaven. Peter’s words: “Master, how good it is for us to be here” (Luke 9:33), represent the impossible attempt to freeze such a mystical experience. St. Augustine comments: “[Peter] … on the mountain … had Christ as the food of his soul. Why should he want to come down to return to toil and suffering while there he was full of sentiments of a holy love for God that inspired him thus to holy actions?” (Sermon 78,3: PL 38,491).
Meditating on this passage of the Gospel, we can take from it a very important teaching. First of all, there is the primacy of prayer, without which all of the work of the apostolate and charity is reduced to activism. During Lent we learn to give the right amount of time to both personal and communal prayer, which gives breath to our spiritual life. Moreover, to pray is not to isolate oneself from the world and its contradictions, as Peter wished to do on Tabor. Prayer, rather, leads us back to the journey, to action. “The Christian life,” I wrote in my Message for this Lent, “consists in continuously scaling the mountain to meet God and then coming back down, bearing the love and strength drawn from him, so as to serve our brothers and sisters with God’s own love” (n. 3).
Dear brothers and sisters, I hear this Word of God addressed to me in a special way during this moment of my life. Thank you! The Lord is calling me to “scale the mountain,” to dedicate myself still more to prayer and to meditation. But this does not mean abandoning the Church – on the contrary, if God asks this of me, it is to serve the Church with the same dedication and the same love with which I have tried to do so hitherto, but in a way that is more adapted to my age and my strength. Let us invoke the intercession of the Virgin Mary: may she help us always to follow the Lord Jesus in prayer and in active charity.
[Following the recitation of the Angelus, the Holy Father greeted those present in different languages. In Italian he said:]
Dear brothers and sisters!
Thank you! Let us thank the Lord for the little bit of sun that he has given us!
[In English he said:]
I offer a warm greeting to all the English-speaking visitors present for this Angelus prayer, especially the Schola Cantorum of the London Oratory School. I thank everyone for the many expressions of gratitude, affection and closeness in prayer which I have received in these days. As we continue our Lenten journey towards Easter, may we keep our eyes fixed on Jesus the Redeemer, whose glory was revealed on the mount of the Transfiguration. Upon all of you I invoke God’s abundant blessings!

greatgenius: @ Ube ..taking this on a different tangent... Understand that separating your thoughts from you In most cases breeds acts of irresponsibility.. This is actually how the man made creation called the " devil" was birthed.. in separating your thoughts from you, any thought deemed "evil" and therefore ungodly is assigned to and as coming from the devil.. thus in creating an imaginary " devil" humans have cunningly freed themselves( so they think ) from taking responsibility for their " evil" thoughts ... The downside is in creating the " devil" humans have made themselves powerless and their creation the " devil" powerful.. That's why it said that the " devil" rules the world because he has your power( well you have given it to him )..

Responsibility is power. Taking responsibility is taking control. When you take responsibility, you gain power. When you do not take responsibility, you are giving away your power to something or someone else.. Power is freedom because power gives you choices.. To have choice is to have freedom.. So to take back the power of this world from the " devil" people need to start taking responsibility for their thoughts and actions and in so doing free themselves from the grip of the " devil "...

Irresponsibility breeds the illusion of separation and vice versa ... There is no God outside of yourself and likewise no devil outside of yourself ...
conclusion based on false premise, i didnt seperate my thought from me, instead d material expression of my thought isnt me just as my aircraft isnt me. U are attacking ur own strawman.

greatgenius: you seem not adept at the subject at hand and as such we are going in circles... it is illogical to say that your thoughts are not you.. your thoughts are a form of energy and so is your very being..the aircraft that you "create" is made of energy..in fact by "creating" the aircraft you have not created a new energy to add to the already existing energy in the universe, but merely brought together already existing matter(energy)to form the aircraft.you have not created anything "new" but only changed energy into a different form... at the end if you break everything down to their core - you, your thoughts, and the aircraft-, you get nothing but energy..energy is all there is and you are a part of it. in fact you are all of it..
i am keeping it simple because you seem to not really understand the concept.
i am not sure what you are trying to say here but again differentiating God from his creations suggests and implies she created you from something outside of himself... but the truth is nothing else existed or exists outside of energy/God,the Source, from the beginning..in the beginning all that existed was and is God nothing else. and yes God "turns" himself into matter.. energy and matter is the same thing.. e=mc2
is not you just don't undestand..you still live In the illusion of separation..

yes all around you and in you is God..is that not what your bible tells you..that which animates you is the spirit of God. but the your ignorance and the problem is that you think God needs and wants your worship.. well you are a part of God whether you believe it or not.. you cannot not be..you and God are one and the same..the son and the father are one and the same..
lol maybe you should explain your idea of energy because i honestly think you have little understanding of it.. You have a limiting perception of God.. you will have difficulty understanding and knowing God if you keep putting him In a box.. understand that you cannot because she is boundless and limitless .. you cannot look at her as just the alpha and not the omega .. You limit his nature when you see him as just the alpha... she is both alpha/omega, the light and darkness, the beginning and end.. there is nothing he cannot be because he is all things.. everything is an expression of the one infinite Creator...

i do not think i said d bolded, i hope u are not deliberately twisting my position? While my thought is me (my consciousnes) d material expression of that thought isnt me! Please u shouldnt twist my words.
your thoughts are a form of energy and so is your very being..the aircraft that you "create" is made of energy..in fact by "creating" the aircraft you have not created a new energy to add to the already existing energy in the universe, but merely brought together already existing matter(energy)to form the aircraft.you have not created anything "new" but only changed energy into a different form... at the end if you break everything down to their core - you, your thoughts, and the aircraft-, you get nothing but energy..energy is all there is and you are a part of it. in fact you are all of it..
ur idea of energy i repeat is ridiculous and with d explanation above it seem like crap! (sorry abt d word crap) how can i b all energy of d aircraft wen i made if from already existing energy outside myself? That is worse than ridiculous.
i am keeping it simple because you seem to not really understand the concept.

ok, so from which part of God is ur house built? Accding to u God doesnt create, he just shape shifts himself into other forms. Thus making everything essentially God and worthy of worship.

yes all around you and in you is God..is that not what your bible tells you..that which animates you is the spirit of God. but the your ignorance and the problem is that you think God needs and wants your worship.. well you are a part of God whether you believe it or not.. you cannot not be..you and God are one and the same..the son and the father are one and the same..
you certainly read the bible upside down, while scripture like to identify d human core/spirit/life directly with d creator it doesnt really do so with the human body. Now i never said nor implied that needs worship. That doesnt exclude d fact that we humans owe God that honor.
lol maybe you should explain your idea of energy because i honestly think you have little understanding of it.. why do u even bother to call him creator since according to u he didnt create but simply distributed himself?
My brother,we dnt have to fight over this ! After all the bible said we should compare scriptures with scripture !In the very few times i have studied and compared scriptures,i'm yet to see the bible contradicting it self ! Please let's take it easy.
Now,i never said a sinner who failed to repent of his sins will go to heaven becos i'm yet to see it in the holy bible ! I said we all who are saved wre saved by the grace and not of works and i quoted scriptures for that !
Now see different scriptures other than the ones quoted earlier to support that our good works never brought us salvation !
''Salvation is not a reward for the good things we have done, so none of us can boast about it'-Ephesians 2:9'
''He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of his mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit, Titus 3:5 Just to quote a few !
You quoted Ephesians 2:12-'Therefore, my dear friends, as you have always obeyed—not only in my presence, but now much more in my absence—continue to work out your salvation with fear and trembling,'' Now Apostle Paul isn't saying we should do works to earn Salvation. If that is what he meant by this scripture, then it will mean that he(Paul)is contradicting himself ! The words of the Apostle was inspired by God and can not be contradictory ! Any explanation that says it is for us to do work to earn salvation is totally wrong and in due time or season, the holy spirit will convict the person, people or the church of the meaning of this scriptural saying ! Let's be open for the holy spirit to teach us.
What Apostle Paul is saying when he said we should work out our salvation with fear and trembling is nothing but to bring out that which you already have ! Means let the light (salvation through faith )that you already have so shine that it might be seen and when tested with fire(i.e the process of purification just as Gold and silver passes through fire)it will still stand and earn you a reward ! To work out ur salvation with fear and trembling in summary is to show the evidence of the salvation you already have. It has got to do with every good thing that comes out of a genuine born again christian. It is all encompassing but does NOT mean we should do all that to earn salvation. It has to do with the fear(reverence or complete respect or humility for God) Go out for soul winning.Give arms to the poor for you to also have treasures in heaven. In other words,it means the total exhibition of the fruits of the spirit !
All these good works above weren't what brought you the salvation but they should be seen once you are saved !
'You said faith without works is dead'. I agree becos the bible says so.But the works comes after faith and not works before faith ! It is ur faith that brings out the works knowingly or un knowingly to you. There is no way you can claim you have faith and has got no works to show for it. But you can have the works without the faith !-So,Paul is saying,if you have faith, then you will exhibit the works and not the other way round. It's just like saying you will go into the swimming pool and not be wet ! How possible is that ? But you can be wet without going into the pool !
May God help us to understand what the spirit is saying !
this is undastandable, salvation is by faith but the bible makes it clear that our reward is by works

Lxgking: Gud write up, but So in conclusion, wat u re meaning is that, SOME SINS RE SIN, bt NOT ALL SINS RE SIN...my conclusion nw dear, is dat sin is sin...nd if u re of d mindset dat u re doin a small sin, while others re doin greater sin,so God in his infinite mercy would mayb overlook urs or send u 2 purgatory(small hell), then u re on a longtin, because d bible made us 2 understand dat 1sin leads 2 manysins nd dat no stain would be allowed into d kingdom of God(no mata how small), so my dears, we shuld be careful of how we think nd reason, nd ask God 4 4giveness of our every sin(no mata how CLAIMED big or small), do u pple even know hw many times we commit adultery everyday of ourlives( MATTHEW 5:27-30), nd u my dears re here giving pathetic excuses of ur small nd big sins, wat madness nd stupidity,be careful; O' HOLY FATHER.. "FOR EVERYONE HAVE SINED AND IS FAR AWAY FROM GOD'S SAVING PRESENCE"(romans 3:23.) ...our arguing nd weak nd excuseful minds can also rephrase it dat "for all who committed GREAT sin has sinned nd ar far away 4rm god's saving grace" an in so doin committed sin by changing d word of God, 2 suit his own purpose, so my dear, LETS BE CAREFUL OF HOW WE THINK...note that am a catholic also....tank u nd God bless.

digospel2: [b]Sin is sin of a truth.[/b] All unrighteosness is sin means you are either right or wrong in your actions and every wrong doing amount to sin. The wages(reward) for sin is death(spiritual) Romans 6:23. God in I Samuel 15:23 ,classify rebellion, witchcraft, stubborness, iniquity and idolatry as one that is equal sin. Likewise Galatians 5:19 - 21, grouped all sin as works of the flesh that can hinder one from inheriting His kingdom. once you miss the kingdom of God you are heading to hell which is the second and final death. So please, don't be deceived; stealing a cup of garri carries the same penalty with armed robbery and abortion leading the sinner to hell(death). It is the old law that group sin for death and those not for death e.g. adultery attract stoning to death. Therefore get understanding when the Bible make reference to the old law and know what the new law prescribe. REPENT FROM ALL SIN FOR THE KINGDOM OF GOD IS AT HAND.
so john was preaching the old law abihuh

wiegraf: While rare, that doesn't make the act right. Everyone does it is not a valid excuse to break the law I would think, two wrongs don't make a right etc.
amen! Totally agree.
Anyways, overall, for some of these cases the statue of limitation passed, that's why I was careful to mention suing and not arrests earlier (good ubene of course missed that). But there were coverups, lots. Police sef seem to have turned a blind eye, probably because of 'church'. Ratzinger himself does not seem to have been involved most, but some of his behavior has been questionable.
what behaviour do u mean?

My hope is the church doesn't get special treatment simply because it's the church, and that sort of seems to be the case. Their not reporting crimes and deciding to secretly try these cases in church and not local courts is rather troubling. it's akin to members of a cult taking matters into their own hands. They want to do that, that's fine and dandy, but they should also report the issue to local authorities. That's how it works when say an employee is caught breaking the law. The case is reported and the company still disciplines the employee. They could fire or demote him, etc, but again, there's still the crime to report to authorities. If the employers are discovered to have attempted a coverup of any sort they are prosecuted by authorities as well (if caught ie). That shuld apply here.
amen! And i think it has applied here, there were abuse cases and naturally d bishop is suppose to treat d matter internally and support d police investigation, d stuff some bishops didnt do, at present many priests have been sued and some bishop too for d coverup. The conspiracy theory that links people who have no part in d crime and coverup is what i totally reject.

plappville: RELIGION - The Italian media explain the surprise resignation of the Holy Father by the presence of a "network" gay would put pressure on certain prelates ...
According to an article in the Italian newspaper Repubblica, the announcement of the resignation of the Pope, which will be effective February 28, is due to a secret report that was presented to him. This would indicate that some prelates have been "outside influence" lay they were bound by ties of "worldly nature."
In clearer terms, some of the most senior members of the Church have suffered blackmail men with whom they could have sex. "For the first time, the word homosexuality was delivered" in the apartment of the Pope, the newspaper reported.

"Opinions" according to the Vatican

This is the pope himself who had asked three cardinals retired him a report after the collapse of the case Vatileaks. According to part of the Italian press, the Pope's annoyance after receiving the findings reinforced his desire to resign.

The Vatican has deemed these fanciful statements or false. His spokesman, Father Federico Lombardi said there would be no "denials, without comment or confirmations," speaking of "assertions and opinions" in the press. Officially, the renunciation of the Pope is due to the weakening of the Holy Father.

God does not hate a sinner,He only hates the sin the sinner commits and he will judge any sinner who does not repent and forsake his/her sins!
All sins once forsaken can be forgiven but a sin against the Holy Spirit wil not be forgiven!

salt 1: Op you are on risky ground if you're looking for the sin you can commit and still not go to hell. I fear this holy God too much for that .

"Thou(God) art of purer eyes than to behold evil, and canst not look on iniquity" Hab 1:13

"For whosoever shall keep the whole law, and yet offend in one point, he is guilty of all.
For he that said, Do not commit adultery, said also Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the law" James 2: 10,11

The verse you mentioned is a favourite of Catholics. They make distinction between mortal sin and sin that cannot kill.

The beloved John didn't give any illustrations to his statement and neither will I.
i think john made a point, not all sin leads to death that is what d bible says we either accept d truth or we reject it.
