OLAADEGBU: Are you a Greek scholar? Do you know more than the translators from the Greek? Since the Vulgate is in Latin why would you claim knowledge of the Greek? The Greek scholars should be the ones teaching you what the Bible says in Greek and not the other way round.
hahaha i know enough greek to write about some greek words. And english isnt equivalent to greek. I have studied the work of scholar and what you carry around as the english bible while been a very good thing doesnt give all the words their exact meaning. I will advise you that if you have hopes of becoming a bible scholar then you should try and be familiar with some greek words. Make research im positive that all the interpretation of greek word i have given so far are correct.

OLAADEGBU: "And He gave some, apostles; and some, prophets; and some, evangelists; and some, pastors and teachers; For the perfecting of the saints, for the work of the ministry, for the edifying of the body of Christ: Till we all come in the unity of the faith, and of the knowledge of the Son of God, to a perfect man, to the measure of the stature of the fulness of Christ: That we henceforth be no more children , tossed to and fro, and carried about with every wind of doctrine, by the sleight of men, and cunning craftiness, whereby they lie in wait to deceive" (Ephesians 4:11-14).

I hope you can see how the Church, the body of Christ, has been equipped and gifted by the Holy Spirit so that we don't fall into error. You can see how the word "Till" is used here that it is plain and that you don't need Greek to understand what it means.
did it say that after reaching spiritual maturity a xtain should not listen to the teachers?

"He answered and said to them, Well has Isaiah prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honours me with their lips, but their hearts is far from me. Howbeit in vain do they worship me, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men. For laying aside the commandment of God, you hold the tradition of men, as the washing of pots and cups: and many other such like things you do. And He said to them, Full well you reject the commandment of God, that you may keep your own tradition" (Mark 7:6-9).

You see how your admission to upholding the tradition of your church has made you not adhere to the final authority of the Word of God just as Jesus and Isaiah had said. Any tradition that contradicts or detracts from the Word of God should be discarded so as not to fall foul on Judgment Day.
isnt that verse condeming wrong jewish tradition? Did it condem true xtain tradition?
"that no prophecy of the scripture is of any private interpretation. For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spoke as they were moved by the Holy Spirit" (2 Peter 1:19-21).
d verse also say u should not subject scripture to ur private interpretation

With the passage I quoted above we can see that it is neither the OT nor the NT that converts people, it was the spoken message of the gospel that got folks converted, for the gospel is the power of God to salvation (Romans 1:16). It is only until God gives light to His Word, it will only remain as a dry history book to its reader.
ament to this. The bible also say 'faith comet by hearing' and also tell us about the profitability of scripture.
Let Josh McDowell paint a panoramic picture of the Scriptures for your perusal:

"Now here's the picture: 1,600 years, 60 generations, 40-plus authors, different walks of life, different places, different times, different moods, different continents, three languages, writing on hundreds of controversial subjects and yet when they are brought together, there is absolute harmony from the beginning to the end . . . There is no other book in history to even compare to the uniqueness of this continuity."
amen to this.

The Apocryphal books your church attempted to add to the inspired 66 books contradicts the harmony of the Scriptures and that is the only compilation that I will say the RCC succeeded in doing which has affected the formulation of most of your dogmas that you now recite by rote.
a big lie with no basis. The deuterocanonical has alway been a part of the septuagint. It wasnt added by the church it was removed by luther. Make research.
The prophets and apostles recognised the inspired Word of God and then kept and distributed it to the body of Christ scattered abroad. The church councils that recognised these writings which had always been acknowledged by the apostles and believers that it was the Word of God, they didn't need anyone pope to tell them what was Scriptures or not:
by the time those writting became the NT all the apostles had already died. The council that canonise the NT was presided by a catholic bishop, his name is st augustine.

[i]"And account that the longsuffering of our Lord is salvation; even as our beloved brother Paul also according to the wisdom given to him has written to you; As also in all his epistles, speaking in them of these things; in which are some things hard to be understood,
the word epistle simply meant letter the above doesnt imply that peter called paul a writter of scripture. Peter was talking about paul letters that is misunderstood.

OLAADEGBU: I could show you evidence from the Scriptures but I don't see the need since you don't accept it as your final authority in all matters of faith.

However, I'll leave you to reflect on Mark 7:5-13 Where it confirms what the OT said about the Messiah who would magnify the Law of God and make it honourable (Isaiah 42:21). Here, we see how the Pharisees have been dishonouring the Law by merely giving lip service to it just as you guys are doing here. They made the Commandment void through their tradition, teaching for doctrines the commandments of men.
please note that the passage above is talking about the jewish tradition of men not the christain tradition. Please put the passage in the right context. Do you know that the bible advises a xtain to keep the christain tradition that has been handed down?

Jesus Christ our Saviour brought honour back to the Law by teaching that the Law was spiritual by nature, and that outward observance was not enough. God required truth in our thought-lives, intentions and motives.

OLAADEGBU: Let's cut all that out and consider Mary's exclamation on the verse below using the Holy Scriptures that has been inspired of God.
good idea
"And my spirit hath rejoiced in God my Saviour." (Luke 1:47).
wow i love this passage. It is a part of my daily prayer especially in d evening.

When Mary said God my Saviour see is acknowledgin the fact that she needs a Saviour. Whether or not she fully realised that this would indeed be the babe in her womb is another question but. she certainly knew that, with all her virtues and godliness, she was not sinless and thus needed salvation. The Virgin Mary realised that God would somehow accomplish her salvation and that her babe would be essential in this plan.
this is where many protestants get it wrong. Before a person is saved he will refer to his saviour in d future tense, like 'GOD WILL BE MY SAVIOUR', 'GOD WILL SAVE ME' etc the person cannot say 'thank God my saviour'. If i child falls in a pit he may say 'pls save me' if u pull him out he will say 'thank u my saviour'. You cant be called a saviour unless you had already performed the saving act. In the passage above mary was giving thanks for an action that had already happened. She didnt at that time need a saviour she already had a saviour, she was already save that is y she is rejoicing in her saviour. So it is wrong 4 u to say 'God would accomplish her salvation' because God had already accomplished it. This is y d angel said 'chaire kecharitomene' this show she had already been given a complete grace. The immaculate conception isnt in anyway opposed to scripture, mary had already recieved salvation from conception just as john recieved his in the womb. That is why even the early christains said mary was sinless, she was already saved by a full or complete grace.
Peace

OLAADEGBU: It is true that the Holy Spirit interpretes His Word and for you to be part of the universal invisible church you have to be born into it.
yeah and you missed the point again. The holyspirit does his work thru d church not by personal interpretation.
It is not a physical church building or organisation.
it is not a physical building but a community of believer, a divine organisation.
Was it your so called council that compiled the Torah, which is essentially the OT of the Bible?
the torah is just 5 books the old testament is much more than 5 books. If your bible was simply d old T then you would have become a Jew.
Don't amuse yourself.
im laughing already atleast d new testament was from a council.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Mother Of Us All by Ubenedictus(m): 11:50pm On Jun 11, 2012
OLAADEGBU: When the Scriptures say that it is inspired by God it means that it is God breathed.
actually the greek word translated as inspired simply mean 'breathed by God'
You need to be born of the Word and the Spirit to discern the truth from the lies from the pit of hell.
i already know that, besides Jesus didnt say born of d word and spirit he said 'born of water and the holy spirit' he was talking about baptism. Read ur bible.
That is why we need to be born again.
born of water and spirit.

You say that you believe in the dogma of trinity and you don't even have a clue of what it means?
im suppose to ask you this question. Do you know that the trinity teaches the equality of the hypotases?
my point still stands, the church by the working of the holyspirit canonise d bible.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Mother Of Us All by Ubenedictus(m): 11:39pm On Jun 11, 2012
OLAADEGBU: Yes, I do know. It wasn't compiled, put together or written by the RCC. The OT for instance was completed and compiled long before the Apocrypha which the RCC attempted to include between the OT and the NT.
this is a big lie, the jews considered divine revelation as on-going, the OT was concluded by jewish scholar some year after the death of christ. The deutorocanonical books were part of the septuagint even before christ. Christ and the apostles used the septuagint that is why it was adopted by the early xtains. The first person to remove those books from the bible was a guy called luther because those books were against his heresy. You are following his footsteps.
The torah, which is the same thing as the NT was compiled and recognised as the inspired Word of God by the holy prophets of God who were Jews, so I don't see why you teach and believe that the RCC put anything together.
(emphasis mine) the torah is not the same thing as the NT, the torah is d book of the law d first five book of the bible, the new testament are d books after d last minor prophet. The old T was written by d jew but the NT was written by christain 4 d church, it might interest you to know that that early church is the catholic church.

The NT that you claim that you compiled were all written and recognised as the inspired Word of God during the life times of the Apostles who didn't write anything contradictory to the OT.
wrong again all the books in d NT were possibly written written before the death of the last apostle John about 100AD but to say they were recognised as scripture is a big lie and show a real ignorance of bible history. NT as we have it today was recognise and called scripture by the council of Hippo in the 4th century it was confirmed at the council of carthage and officially closed at trent. Before the council of Hippo there was nothing like a new testament. The gospel of luke was written to confirm what theophilus had already learnt matthew was 4 d jew john was writting to prove a point. Mark was written that which he learnt, paul was answering question. In d new testament only d book of revelation claims divine inspiration. Please research.
They actually corroborated the OT. The Apocrypha that the RCC claims to be inspired Word of God and where you get most of your dogmas from was not cited by Jesus Christ or His apostles, they were not inspired of God but written during the dark age of silence between the book of Malachi and Matthew which was about 400 years.
they are part of the septuagint which Jesus and his apostles used. Have you not seen when the new testament quote extra-old testament documents?
Christianity Etc › Re: The Mother Of Us All by Ubenedictus(m): 10:38pm On Jun 11, 2012
OLAADEGBU: I have already shown how the Scriptures contradict you dogmas and the trinity you teach is also flawed as you don't teach the deity of Christ but divinity. I can give you the dates that your dogmas were proclaimed and this proves when the RCC began to operate.
hahaha wrong again. The first proclaimed dogma is in d book of acts the xtain proclaim that the old law was no longer applicable, a dogma is proclaimed not to start a belief but to confirm it. When the council of jerusalem ruled against d mosaic law they werent inventing something new they were confirming and teaching with the inspiration of the holyspirit that which was known.
Christianity Etc › Re: The Mother Of Us All by Ubenedictus(m): 10:31pm On Jun 11, 2012
OLAADEGBU: A dogma is what you accept without any evidence. I can tell you when most of your dogma started and show you that they don't have any backing from the holy Scriptures. Most of them started after Constantine especially in the year 310 A.D. when the RCC began.
point of correction a dogma simply put is a proclaim truth. The church didnt begin in 310, it began in 33AD. It was born from the side of the saviour as eve from adam, it foundation had already been laid when Jesus gave peter the keys, it was commissioned on pentecost by the holyspirit

Don't tell us that the meaning in Greek is different from what it has translated to be, this is the tactics heretics use in deceiving the gullible.
do some study. Im not fight greek and english is not the same. The east and west divide in the catholic church happened because of difference in language whe latins say procedit greeks use and unequal term. The orginal language is very important english isnt the original language

It depends on perspective. An executioner is not a murderer. governmment spends public funds all the time. it is how you spend it that qualifies you as a good government or as a criminal government. A police man's duty may involve ENFORCING law and order. If it is not done in the OFFICE of a police man, it may be seen as a breach, assault and crime. If i jail someone in my private jail(assuming i had one), for stealing my car, i would be punished. If the judge sentences the same person for stealing my car, there would be no issues.

Luke 3:14 And the soldiers likewise demanded of him, saying, And what shall we do? And he said unto them, Do violence to no man, neither accuse any falsely; and be content with your wages.
John did not preach quit your job as a soldier. National security is IMPORTANT. But he preached against excesses as seen among many powerful people. What John was saying reads "Neither intimidate any one nor lay false charges; and be content with your pay." So, there is positional authority and perspective in Heaven. We love God as a Father, but fear Him as Judge.
i agree.

buzugee: to be a great bible scholar, you have to be able to read hebrew greek and latin because most of the words dont translate to english very well. thats why a lot of people have the wrong interpretations of the bible ( i heard this from a great scholar who reads both greek and the lashawan qadash original hebrew tongue ). fortunately, this particular translation was one of the words on the agenda. the translation from the lashawan qadash original hebrew scripts is 'thou shall not murder'. so you can kill righteously. if someone is about to take your life and you had a chance to kill them, by all means you have to. if you are being invaded by an occupying force then you have to do what you have to do to protect your territory. however if you are the army of an invading force ( which will be an unprovoked attack ) or you just randomly attack and kill someone who is not bothering you, then that is in contravention of 'thou shall not murder'
that is true. The word mean thou shall not muder.

The guy who insulted me is offended. Well im sorry if i offended you it wasnt my intention but you started this. I dont use sacasm u pushed me.
Ptolomeus: 1. You did not read about Mary's children?
no friend i only read about Jesus' adelphos i never read about anything called marys children. Pls provide biblical proof.
Read the Bible then.
First you learn, then opine.

2 .. Stop playing the victim. It is unpleasant to see a man crying. Sarcastic you are!
sorry if i offended you. I dont like sacasm i wrote about that before.

3. I'm not an atheist. You are a rude fanatic, who has no knowledge of the Bible, in your stupidity, consider me an atheist when I'm not. You want to insult me, but do not know how. You speak of miracles ... the only miracle is that the angel may have conjured up a new hymen for Mary. That's the only way she was virgin. A Real Miracle
she didnt need a new hymen a sportwoman can lose her hymen by runing but virginity is about 'not having sex'. Im sorry if i mistook you for an athiest but you dont sound like a christain nor a moslem.

4. You really believe that Jesus was virgin? The big wine drinker, who spoke with tax collectors and prostitutes was a virgin? Read the Bible ... The Bible says that Jesus was not virgin.
yeah he drank wine but he wasnt a drunk, the talked with lovepeddlers was he didnt fornicate that is why the bible says that Jesus never sinned.

5. You know you make me laugh? I imagine you kneeling in front of a plaster statue of Mary, worshiping a cross ... you are all an idolater!
Jheova know what he said about that?
Allow to mourn as a woman, and go to read the Bible.
wow!!! Youre shooting at me. But i have never worshipped an image.
Peace.

Your usual insultive sacasm

u are d guy talking outside context she said 'how can this be(i.e hw can i b pregnant) since i know not man' can a man clothes make a lady pregnant? 'i know not man' means i havent had sex.
5. I'm glad you laugh. Read about Jesus' brothers. Maybe you stop laughing ...
i have already read about Jesus' adelphos.
6. I try to make him understand, that the virginity of Mary is something irrational, and has great biblical contradictions. You try to conceal them.
my dear atheist give me the scientific formula that says virginity is irration and i will tell u about miracles.
7. Ubenedictus, sensitive boy. Do not cry. Try to reason. You're a virgin does not mean that Joseph and Mary have been. In fact neither was Jesus. I am not guilty of that Mary was a normal woman, like Joseph and Jesus.
Sometimes it is difficult to justify rationally made to kneel before an image of gypsum and worship ... but the method you chose to do so is not suitable.

the bible didnt say mary gave birth to other son. Never was mary the moda of Jesus called the moda of jame and jose. James jose and simon are adelphos of Jesus.
I knw d catholics helped preserve d scriptures but they didn't write it.........
the apostles are catholic. The church that spang on the day of pentecost.
Stick to bible verses and leave d popes presumpteous doctrines.......
the truth is the truth.
Sooner or later u might say Jesus isn't d final authority for d church,.......................
u are the person saying dat.
Even Jesus knew he had half brothers but d catholic church says Jesus didn't.....
sorry my bible says adelphos.
I tire for ona oooo...

What will it take to concede to d scriptures that mary had other kids and dat she wasn't a virgin forever......huhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh?
scripture didnt say mary had other kids. U are forcing urself on d bible.
For christ sake mary got married.....

She didn't commit fornication nor adultery but slept with her husband which is good in the eyes of God.......

jmoore: Any one who is against the military needs to be psychologically examined.. The military is meant to protect, so you are sad that the military/police is fighting boko haram? How some folks think is unbelievable!! Common sense is no longer common.

If a thief comes into your house and he has a gun and u have an option to stop him with any weapon near you, you will allow him to kill you?
good question. Some people dont see a difference btw protecting and killing.

frosbel: Confess your sins to GOD and not to MAN, get it ??

You have a mediator, JESUS CHRIST not that potential Paedophile Priest lurking in the dark confession boot !!!

You have been given direct access to GOD , yet you still want a mere man , flesh and blood , to intercede on your behalf, blasphemy !!!!!
my bible say 'confess your sin to another'. I will accept the bible not your words.

ijawkid: Why do they even have priests in d 1st placehuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh

Why then did Jesus die if priests will still be neededhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh??

Jesus is now high priest but d catholics still insist they must still have priests.....

I don't blame them........

If Jesus is now almighty God then I think he needs a priest to mediate between man and Him,,,.....................
in d old testament there was one high priest and many levite, in the new testament we have one high priest and many presbytorous read the bible.
