such issues as dis but i hate it wen people use wrong premise to come to a fallacious conclusion. The catholics believe dat man is made UP of d body, spirit, soul n mind. I believe no church is PERFECT n ur church won't take u to heaven, its only a means of attaining heaven.Having said dat,am nt going to criticise any church, but d ONLY thing I can't get abt d WITNESSES is there believe dat there's no HELL,wen d evidence of hell is scattered throughout d new testament.
I Rest My Case.
you misunderstood my point. The johova witness do not believe that a human being have a soul. Any witness here can clarify

Define what hell means my bro and let's get on with it.................

You can't just mention d word hell and think its final............

Let§ analyze and see what it is............

Like I said earlier there is also d lake of fire and it will surprise u to actually knw what it is ........

I believe u already know
learn please the word translated for hell in Jesus case is 'hades' or 'shoel'. It does not mean hell fire, it mean a place where the saints rested before the death of christ. The words used for the true hell fire are usually 'gehena' lake of fire etc

it seem you have never heard of delegated authority. Well that is what happened, Jesus the rock per excellence delegated and granted peter authority and power as a rock for his church on earth. I think st cyril has that explanation.
Apologies sir, my point is that we should let them be...For the Wind blows wherever it pleases.you hear its sound, but you cannot tell where it comes from or where it is going,so it is with one born of the Spirit..Jhn3:8.
Sir,the Holy Spirit is in charge of these despensension,we should be submissive/obedient to all His activities in our lifes.
There's nothing wrong with that mode of prayers, long as the Holy Spirit is the custody of the gathering.
good point, my bible also says 'test all spirits', Jesus says in the book of John, 'the spirit will glorify me...he shall take from what is mine'. The holyspirit is also the spirit of christ that is y he says ' i shall ask the fada and he shall send u another paraclete'. the spirit cannot and doesnot contradict Jesus because Jesus word becos he is the spirit of the son, Jesus say 'pray for ur enemies' he didnt say pray against them. He said love ur enemies he didnt say hate them. St paul futher clarifies that the best thing you can do against ur enemies is to for them. By this i am saying that any spirit that contradicts the very words of Jesus is not the holyspirit.
In your previous post you said "spirits dont die" now you acclaim spiritual death is possible,
spirit is immortal it doesnt die. Spiritual death is another word i use for the effect of sin. When i say spiritual death im refering to the passage that says 'the soul that sinnest shall die' die is also the word God uses to warn adam. It doesnt mean that soul are mortal it imply a seperation from God the source of life. So when a soul is seperated from the source of life it lacks spiritual power and that soul is said to have experience spiritual death. I didnt say a soul is mortal dont misunderstand me.
Seriously,do you know Christ?have you given your life to Him?
good questions, i know christ and i have already given my life to him.
I counsel you to start from being born again, there's nothing to be ashame of,just give your life to Him,then we can discuss on the same Ground.
i think you are trying to insult me. Please if you have something to say about the points i raised point it out, please and please dont speculate about me. How do you just assume that a person is not born againhuh What do u understand by born againhuh?
If you want to go around pray for your enemies to die, just remember christ words that says love your enemies. In this world there will be evil people and your job as a christain is to convert not kill them

patriot2: First of all for your argument to hold, the majority of Lagosians would have to be muslims, or shall I say the majority of Yoruba would have to be muslims. Moreover the governor was voted in by the people and he acted according to the powers invested in him, he didn't plan any military coup to become a governor. The governor is not a general, he will not be obeyed if he goes against the law.
i think he went against the law because it is clear that the state has no power against a religion. Distroying their place of worship is uncalled for.
So now I get that some of you would gladly sacrifice Nigeria and Nigerians to save one page of a coran: I am sorry but you people fit the description of traitors and "enemies within".
i think you are speculating. First of all im not a muslim. The government can stop all worship in the mosque till the bokoharam threath pass away. Demolishing the mosques is wasting an asset, money was spent on that mosque. At time drastic measures need to be taken to ensure security but this was over done. Stoping everyone from going to those mosques is a better solution
you people's religion has corrupt your vision on everything, you don't even think freely anymore, you can not be objectif about anything which touches your religion. But know that religion, just like love, is a mental disfontion which could have positive or negative effects: for example we have something called crime for love, the same way we have terrorism.
I think any ruler who sacrifices common sense for religion is bound to failure.
my dear i greet you, i cherish a well seasoned arguement but what you wrote above is an attempt to insult me. If you dont want to discuss it tell me and i'll drop it. Please i beg dont insult me please.

just a little correction, catholic dont have a prayer called angeles but they have a prayer called 'angelus' (it means 'the angel' the prayer is called angelus becos that is among the first words of the prayer). I also read their books the most surprising thing i found is that they dont believe that a human has a soul. Your post shows your opinion and i respect it

If nigeria goes to war today won't ur fellow catholics join in fighting for nigeriahuhhuhhuhhuhhuh?
good question, wont protestants go to war? The engagement of war in catholicism should only happen when all other measures have fail or when it is necessary to resue the oppressed from an unjust oppressor or to defend when attacked in these case a war may be just. Tell me that there are no protestants in the army.
Won't u urself pick up a gun all in d name of defending ur nationhuhhuhhuhhuh?
no i wont unless i have the enemy in my backyard trying to attack my family.
Haven't we watched ur Fathers and priests pray for d army to go to warhuhhuhhuhhuh?
that was some centuries ago. It hasnt happened in recent times
Oboy if u want proof go and read ur history,,,............
atleast the vatican never supported any of the recent wars
The catholic church has always been in d fore front of this worlds politics and wars......
that is a overgeneralisation, the church has not alway been in all wars in human history. The church was not in word war 1 and2 she was not in iran iraq, isreal gaza, israel lebanon. In recent times the church has been neutral in war.
Soon u'll start denying what u guys did with d crusade.......
the church has already accepted responsibility for the crusades nobody is deneying that. The crusade happened centuries ago. The crusade is not a recent war. The crusade was to free jerusalem that was captured by the muslims. I told you before that a war is considered just when against an unjust oppressor.
I said as a group and as individual catholics u guys have supported wars....
that is true to an extent my arguement is that the church has a whole, the vatican to be specific has not support any war in recent times.
My relatives who were stunch catholics took part in d biafra war....I know ur relations did too....
well according to the principles used by st thomas of aquinas, the biafra war should never have happened. There were many available ways to resolve the issues. My relatives didnt support nor did they anything to do with the biafra war, im from the then middle belt, the biafra war didnt affect us and we didnt fight in it
Stop denying bro
Am I wronghuhhuhhuhhuhhuhhuh??
you are wrong in some things, i was talking about recent times. The time the crusades happened the protestant churches had not even existed. Im not trying to deny anything, i simply want a fair discussion

OLAADEGBU: That's where you got it wrong. Ad hominem is directing an argument against the person making the claim rather than the claim itself. The phrase is a Latin word which means "to the man".

Anyone using this logical fallacy hopes that people will reject their opponents claim because there is something objectionable about the person making the claim which is irrelevant to the claim the opponent is making.
one of the worst thing you can do to the truth is to cut it or withold some of it. The logical fallacy 'to the man' is not limited to abuse it also includes condeming unrelated issues what you consider negatives in the persons belief. You just tried to condem evolution (a totally unrelated issue) in your attempt to downgrade my belief system. Im sure wiki says the same thing.

Christianity Etc › Re: Romish Superstition: Pope Needed To Interpret God’s Word by Ubenedictus(m): 9:07pm On May 25, 2012
frosbel: Most people do not realize that the Roman Catholic Church teaches that the Pope, along with the Magisterium (Catholic teaching office) is necessary for the interpretation of God’s Word. That is absolutely mind-boggling, but that is exactly what they teach. Here is an excerpt from their 1994 Catholic Catechism:

RCC-Catechism-1994 #100
“The task of interpreting the word of God authentically has been entrusted solely to the magisterium of the Church, that is, to the Pope and to the bishops in communion with him.”

But The Bible Tells Us That The Holy Ghost Is Our Teacher

I was raised as a Roman Catholic, and I sat under the false teachings of Rome for many years, UNTIL the Holy Ghost (Spirit) opened up my eyes to the truth through the scriptures (Bible/God’s Word). I assure you that YOU do not need the Pope to interpret the scriptures for you. If you believe that then you will continue to live in the religious bondage of that whole system, which preaches a false gospel, BUT the choice is your own. Here are some scriptures that show us that the Holy Ghost (Spirit) is the only teacher that you need. Yes, God does raise up certain people to be preachers and teachers in the body of Christ, BUT every true born-again believer in Jesus Christ is taught of the Holy Ghost!

But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you. (John 14:26)

Howbeit when he, the Spirit of truth, is come, he will guide you into all truth: for he shall not speak of himself; but whatsoever he shall hear, that shall he speak: and he will shew you things to come. (John 16:13)

Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God. Which things also we speak, not in the words which man’s wisdom teacheth, but which the Holy Ghost teacheth; comparing spiritual things with spiritual. (1 Corinthians 2:12-13)

These were more noble than those in Thessalonica, in that they received the word with all readiness of mind, and searched the scriptures daily, whether those things were so. (Acts 17:11)

William Tyndale was a true man of God who was used by the Lord to get the scriptures (Bible) into the hands of the common people, and Rome was not happy with that at all. William Tyndale opposed the Roman Catholic Church with all of their man-made traditions, and he was eventually murdered by them by being burnt to death at the stake. Tyndale was one of many who met their fate in that manner, and we can all be grateful that we have a Bible in our hands because of men and women of God who stood against Rome. The Roman Catholic Church has not changed their doctrines, and they have added two more false teachings regarding Mary, including the feast of the “Immaculate Conception” and the “Assumption of Mary into Heaven.” There are many Christian “leaders” who have been seduced by this false religious system over the years, but the Word of God still stands true against their false teaching.

William Tyndale met a man one day who declared the following:

“We were better to be without God’s laws then the Pope’s”

Master Tyndale hearing this, full of Godly zeal, and not bearing that blasphemous saying, replied

“ I defy the Pope and all his laws; and added, that if God spared him life, ere many years he would cause a boy that driveth the plough, to know more of the scripture than he did.”

William Tyndale-Foxes Book Of Martyrs-page 139

easy, the cathechism was simply attesting a fact it happen in the council of Jerusalem. The holy spirit work through and in the church that is why the council says 'it seem good to the holyspirit and to us' please read the whole cathechism dont just read some sections. Tyndale was a guy who ask permission to translate the bible and the english bishop refused because he lack sufficient knowledge of latin and could not translate the vulgate the authoritative version but instead of learning the language and gathering scholar so he could reapply, he went to germany and started to produce 'underground' bible. When the bible was first published the bishops took a copy and analysied it it was full of errors i think about 4000 errors. He was warned but refused to stop. He was arrested according to the state law that forbade wrong translation and was sentence according to the law. Please i like it when people ask questions but i dont appreciate distructive critisism
Christianity Etc › Re: Christ Our Solid Foundation by Ubenedictus(m): 8:30pm On May 25, 2012
OLAADEGBU: Christ Our Solid Foundation

"For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ" (1 Corinthians 3:11)

A building is as strong as its foundation. The need for a strong foundation arises because it sustains the entire structure and enables the building to withstand all external climatic pressures. The storm will arise, the wind will blow, the flood will descend and beat upon it, yet the structure will stand.

The Church, the body of believers is one foundation with Jesus Christ as its cornerstone. Ministers, preachers and all who are called into the ministry cannot do an enduring work where the increase does not come from God. "He that planteth and he that watereth are one" (1 Cor. 3:8.) All faithful followers of Christ are one in the great task of the ministry. Their reward will also be in proportion to their diligence and faithfulness. If we are used of God to do anything for the furtherance of the Gospel, we should always remember that we are only by divine grace.

There is the danger of building our own fancies or false reasoning on the foundation of divine revelation. "Other foundation can no man lay than that is laid." Those who build upon this foundation with gold, silver or precious stones (verse 12) will tenaciously hold on to the truth as it is in Jesus Christ. But others who build upon false foundation with wood, hay and stubble with their works will suffer outright destruction on the last day. There is a great day coming in which our actions will be examined in the true gospel light and every man's work shall be made to manisfest (verse 13).

The true believer's body is the temple of God. christians should therefore, "be holy, pure and clean both within and without." Our services must also be rendered in similar light. Every teaching or knowledge that is not of Christ should be discarded. That way, we will posssess the capacity to withstand the storms of life.

Thought For The Day: Christ is the Cornerstone on whom every hope is anchored

For more . . . .
amen to this

Please answer to which of the possibilities that Joseph should not have sex with Mary.
For Mary was a virgin WAS NECESSARY
a) That Joseph did self (that ugly ... that does not speak well of Joseph)
b) That Joseph WAS ga.y
c) That Mary was frigid
d) That Mary was a le.sbian
e) That Were Mary and Joseph bis.exual
f) That Joseph WAS impotent.
It would really be preferable Been That HAD normal ... If These Were the parents of god ... what is for Jesus!

Few women would have se.x with a spirit ... I guess I accept die very promiscuous and experienced.

1 After this, Jesus went around in Galilee, purposely
staying away from Judea because the Jews there were

But they were a couple. We do not doubt anyone.Understand the historical context. It is impossible to imagine a couple who do not have se.x. Se.x was not sin (or so). For that reason Joseph did not have all the possible se.x with Mary? Even the unimaginable.
this is ignorance, they didnt need a catholic church to be married. Every culture had it own marriage rite the jews also had a marriage rite so mary didnt need the church. Fornication was a sin and mary and joseph didnt fornicate. The church has taught consistently for 2000yrs that mary and joseph did not have sex because their marriage wasnt like other, their marriage was about what God want not sex.ezk 44:2

you just displayed ignorance again. learn the meaning of sacred tradition and stop talking nonsense and also learn ur church history.
4. Self. Right. Wont back to my original.
For Mary was a virgin was necessary
a) That Joseph did self (that ugly ... that does not speak well of Joseph)
b) That Joseph was ga.y
c) That Mary was frigid
d) That Mary was a le.sbian
e) That Mary and Joseph were bis.exual
f) That Joseph was impotent.
It would really be preferable that had been normal ... IF these were the parents of god ... what is for Jesus!
this is trash

5. Exactly.
At that time it was unthinkable a se.xless marriage. Not talking about modernism but of realities. You make a story no one will believe to blame Joseph homosexuality or frigidity of Maria. Instead of sanctifying, you humiliated.
Accept the logic. Mary and Joseph made se.x three or four times a day ... Nor was convicted of adultery, so that Mary may have had se.x with several men.
Stop making excuses that no one will believe.
trash again. She was in grace not about the world. If she was about the world the angle wouldnt have said 'kecharitomene'. Think b4 u write

Emperoh: Need your help guys: Pls who can get me a print CORPORATE poster of the catholic and anglican church. Pls post picture and tag me, i am carrying out a research work on it. Also, who is the spokes person for the catholic and Anglican churches in Nigeria?
if you really are making a research i'll suggest you visit both churchs, if you have any question on the catholic church please ask me. The spokesperson for the catholic church is most rev dr alaba job head of the bishop conference. The highest ranking prelates are H.E Anthony cardinal Arize and H.E cardinal okogie arch bishop of lagos metropolitan see. I'll give a little history from a catholic p.o.view the catholic church was confirm in 33AD AT THE PENTECOST which began the church's ministry after years of persecution xtainity became the official roman religion under emperor constantin, it then held the council of niceae...later the roman empire fell and the church had full power both civil and spiritual around 1000Ad there was tension between the east and west which lead to the east west divide the east became the orthodox and the west retained the name catholic, later the church gave power back to the princes...around the 15thcentury the pope refused to allow king henry (king of england) to have a second wife so the king proclaim himself the spiritual leader of the church of england and married a second wife (on the long run he married more than 20) that is the origin of the anglican church that is y it is similar to the catholic church. During the 16th century martin luther a catholic priest broke away an that became the first protestant movement it was almost a war. The lutherians influence the anglican doctrine and practice that is y the catholic church doesnt recognise the anglican sacrament...etc. The history is long and i didnt address some things, if you need clarifications pls ask.
