And to think she made the list for the top 100 sexiest women on the planet. Somebody gotta be kidding me What is so sexy in a bag of bones ![]() |
@ huxley and nwankwo Interesting discussion !!! Correct me if I am wrong, I thot the controversy about this whole in vitro stuff was built around fertilized eggs as opposed to gametes. ![]() |
funkybaby:Huh? |
I wish it was not a hotel. Maybe a seedy roadside motel would be appropriate for this windpipe ![]() |
grafikdon: ![]() Dont mind all these fair weather traditional rulers ![]() They are supposed to be the elders of the society and uphold the truth but no wayyyyyyyyy. They go ahead conferring titles on assholes. |
Is this thread still on? ![]() |
m_nwankwo:I want to believe that too ![]() |
lucabrasi:Being the cowards that we all are in Nigeria , I would not expect him to do so. And that is why I am not impressed. I thought titles were given on merit. Now what is so impressive about a a traditional ruler who confers a title to a crook while he is in power and strips it away from him when he no longer commands power. |
nuzo:Same here |
lucabrasi:Story!!!! Why was he given the title in the first place? I am in no way a fan of Obj but talk about kicking a man when he is down!!! Bamayi is now thier son becos he is now free and naw he is a titled man. Was he not thier son when he was incacerated ![]() |

wendymanda:Abeg make do with child support ![]() Does this law hold even when it is the female that decides she does not want to be married to the man ![]() |
TopBooty:your example is hilarious . Thats like pushing the argument to the extreme. For instance, the chances of a truck pusher meeting a prof in a romantic setting is very slim and I too would be very surprised if it happened. In your example of the truck pusher and the prof, apart from the obvious disparity in earning power there are plenty of other issues that would present a problem thus making them incompatible. And to me it is all about compatibility, not neccesarily class as defined by most of the posts here. TopBooty:U see I am not really taking out class for marriage , I am only wary about the definitions ascribed to "class". Money does not necessarily bring class and vice versa. U might be very rich as a man and yet be a complete asshole when it comes in terms of managing ur matrimonial home. |
TopBooty:If we understand that this so-called "class" as defined by most posters here is dynamic, then why are we going to be making marriage decisions based on it. I believe marriage should be based on something more stable than our so called "class". |
Interesting study. However human mtDNA provide only a small part of the picture. The study need to be corroboted by analysis of the human Y-DNA, and also the X-linked and autosomal portions of the human genome. @ nwankwo Yeah , I agree it would be much more convincing if all the different genetic elements in the human genome were used to corroborate this study. However, this might not be easily tractable. The mitochondrial DNA provides an excellent system to go back in time since it is transmitted only through females. So theoretically, You can trace back the origin of this DNA all the way to one woman. I think their rationale for the most part is logical and that in itself is actually very, very interesting. For the use of the Y-chromosome, I don't know if it can be used to actually trace back our evolutionary roots. I am at loss at how that is possible. I can imagine using the Y-chromosome to study divergent evolution i.e how and where we became different but it would be a little challenging to use it to study convergent evolution i.e where and how we originated. The genome had undergone a lot of changes (recombination , polymormpism etc) during time and tho these differences are a good tool box to study our differences and thus relate it to our evolution, those differences would be a stumbling back if we want to go back all the way in time. For that u might want to need a genetic element that had been stably passed down from generation to generation with very little changes. The maternal mitochondrial DNA is the closest that we have gotten to that kind of genetic element. |
T hese kind of threads easily gets me confused. Many posts here about social strata seem to make one huge assumption : That everything is cast in stone, and that is where I beg to differ. If social class for u means how noble u are as in the case of Kings or Queens then that is permanent. Once a blue blood always a blue blood. On the same hand if it is race , then again it is permanent. If You are a hispanic, black or white nothing changes that. You are always going to be that way. But most of the posts here aint based on that. The basis is finance. Now tell me how is that permanent. You might be rich today but You can't really say of 2morrow. Life has a funny way of humbling people. Woe betide u as a man who got a wife based on what she percieved as social security and all of a sudden that "security is gone" Thats when the full meaning of WOEman would dawn on you ![]() And we men have to just let go of our ego. Assuming that You have to be earning more than your wife is sheer ignorance to say the least. Even if u get married to a woman who earns less than you, what assuarance do u have that the status quo would remain the same after 10 years. Well, maybe if u married a lazy wife then u would be assured of that but no man would willingly marry a lazy woman your wife might be lucky in her job and earn promotions more than You. So watchu u going to do? Divorce her ![]() |
J-girl, where ur own pics ![]() |
@ Sly Na wetin now This kain defence wey u dey build around j girl too much Anyways, my hands are clean oooooooo. U should be more worried about Tosibobo that wants to meet her under one Iroko tree. |
Tosbi:Ok. When and where do we meet ![]() |
4 Play:I assume the Nigerian doctors brought in to replace the US doctors would be given the same kind of training and would be exposed to the same kind of environment the US doctors were used to? ![]() We have a very pitiable educational system and so that reflects in the quality of the graduates including the doctors. But would U honestly say that it has deterioted to the level whereby we cant get people in the health care system that can administer vaccines? |
TopBooty:Who prepared their paper work? Did they just fly in from Niger and take over the Nigerian ministry. For all You know, one alhaji from the north might be using their names to collect salaries. Mind you, those guys from Niger don't particularly like to work. THEY PREFER TO BEG. |
I honestly don't care about their fear or the basis for their fear of the sources of the vaccines. I am more concerned with the statistics that show the numbers of kids with polio in the north. I acknowleged that they have a right to be suspicious about the source of the vaccines (based on facts that I have read about) but not to be stupid, dumb and downright insensitive. To reject vaccines from the western world is not heinous but what I find shocking is the lack of a veritable alternative. You can't just say NO to vaccines and sit back and watch your kids get deformed. You have to find different sources for your vaccines. That is where the angle of illiteracy comes in and I wont argue with that. And yeah, the South have been using same vaccine and polio has almost been eradicated with little or no complications from the Vaccines themselves or the manner at which the vaccine was adminstered. So what is actually their problem? ![]() |

TopBooty: U can always tell a guy that is from Niger from Hausas/ fulanis who are sent to koranic schools and as a result become almajiris. |
LMAO @ Kobo Sorry, pal. |
@ Ikamefa So when is he coming to anoint U with his seed? ![]() |
If U are in Nigeria and U are married to a doctor, what is the possiblity that U would be married to a foreign doctor (excuse my grammar) ![]() Even if U have friends who are doctors they would still be Nigerians, right? Lets assume U somehow become chums with some american doctors and U are in Nigeria. The question remains the same? Would U fly out to the States just to get a shot of anti-malaria injections from one of ur doctor friends ![]() Remenber this a reaction to this post : Kobojunkie: |
Akolawole:Are U kidding me Dont tell me u are comparing yeking's stint in division II with Kayode's perpetual stay in the Championship. Setubal moved in and out of division I and II. And most importantly, not only was Yeking banging in the goals for setubal he was also topping the league scorer's chart. Can U say that of Mr One goal in 26 matches Kayode Odejayi? ![]() |
Kobojunkie:The truth of the matter is that at the end of the day, You only make do with what You have. You can say that naw because You are not in Nigeria ,but if You were You wont have any choice other than to be treated by Nigerian doctors. Even if You are stikiningly rich and have all the diplomatic passports in the world , You would not want to be taking an 18 to 24 hr flight anytime You have a scratch. And while we are at it. there are excellent doctors in Nigeria who can compete with anywhere in the world given the right resources and environment. An American-born Chinese surgeon who just came back from Ghana told me that American-trained doctors would be lost if they were deprived of the technology at their disposal. He expressed dismay at the dearth of the resources available to the local doctors but not without showing his admiration on how they still carried out their duties given the resources and the technology at their disposal. |
U guys have really got me thinking Its kind of strange I never had any crush in primary school. Matter of fact is dat, I disliked the company of girls while in primary schools. I always see them as annoying creatures that were always sucking up to the teachers and telling them about the pranks that we played or about to play So none of the girls stood out, all of them were one annoying bunch. ![]() When I gat to secondary school, it started to change. The crush came but I honestly did not know what it was. I was just in awe of this petite and pretty NYSC corper that was posted to the school to teach Mathematics. I would not even bother about her physical attributes cos nothing I would say would her justice. Anyway, she taught JSS 2B while this impudent and irritable married woman taught the A-classes including JSS1A. Fortunately, at the end of the service year, she was retained as a Maths teacher in the school but I was promoted to JSS 2A. First week of the next school year, I kept wishing I was in JSS 2B . It hurt so much that I had to tell my dad to transfer me to JSS 2B Well, I knew very well my Dad always keeps his promises so I did not bring it up again. But than fate intervened. Miss Chikezie was made to be our Form Mistress and she chose me as her Class Captain. It was then I got the chance to know her up close and personal. Not sexually ( |
