Trust is my middle name. So lets get to cracking |
hmmmmm scratching my chin and thinking of my own yoruba damsel ![]() |
Rolls off chair laffing ![]() |
ololakenny:ield you would Vogts went for the wings cos the strenght of the Ivorians was in the midfield. With guys like Yaya Toure et al in the midfield you would really need to have world class midfielders to win anything in the midfield. Gone are the days when we had midfielders in the mould of Oliseh, Amokachi (before he was converted to an attacker), Nwanu, Adepoju et al. These are guys that would not bow down to any nonsense from the opposing midfielders. Even the sturdy defense of Okechukwu , Iroha and Eguaveon is enuff to scare the shit out of any opposing midfielder. So plis stop blaming Vogts abeg. He might have raised some eyebrows with his selection buit he is not the problem. Bottomline is dat we have stopped producing quality players and for some reason I always find myself blaming the football adminstration in Nigeria. A look @ the table for award of the best players in Africa will give u an indication of wat is happening 1993 ---- 1st Abedi Pele 2nd Rashidi 1994---- 1st Rashidi 2nd George Weah 1995---- ist Amunike 1996 1st George weah 2nd Amokachi 1997 1st Kanu 3rd Taribo 1998 1st Ikpeba 2nd Okocha 3rd Oliseh 2000 1st Kanu And then the music stopped . From 1993 to 2000 ( apart from 1999) a Nigerian always ends up in the top three. In 98 , it was just an all Nigerian affair. Check then from 2001 till date ( apart from cameo appearances by Okocha) Nigerians have been completely absent from that list |
@ presido What makes u think that Man U will hand a thrashing to Spurs. This is the Ramos era and not that of , wat is his name sef, Martin Jol era |
I hope this does not translate into the premiership. Arsenal have a way of pulling a long string of wins and then just one loss will snowball into a string of losses. I hope it does not happen this season. |
pholer:At 16, most girls have sex because they think they are in love and it is the only way to show thier love. They only get to know better when they get older. Maybe I am just old fashioned but if I have a 16 yr old daughter I would definitely not be comfortable with her having sexual relatiuons with anybody, be it a 16 yr old boy or a 30 yr old man. I will worry that she is being slept with (to borrow ur terms) so as to reduce the probablility of me worrying about her being pregnant. It should not be the other way round, dude. |
@ pholer I really dont understand ur drift at all. If u made it to the university @ the age of 15, does it apply to everyone else. The truth of the matter is that @ 16 one is still very immature in all respects : Education, finance and emotion. Even @ 23 most of us still think naively----- How can a 16 yr old tell the difference between love and lust. Hell, I cant even tell the difference and I am way past 16. @ 16 and without guidiance she is likely to fall into the arms of any man who whispers sweet nothings to her. If the guy loves her as he claims, then he would really have to wait. I dont know how long he should wait but I know that 16 is a no-no. About Bianca and Ojukwu et al There is a big difference in a 45 old man dating a 30 ish old woman |
Naija peeps!!! Now Vogts don begin collect bribe from Makinwa ![]() |
Makinwa has always been on the fringes. This is not the first time he is making the Nigerian team as a sub Apam. I honestly dont know. Maybe he did well in training and petered out in the match. It happens you know. Ejide is as good as Enyeama. There is little difference between them so it does not matter who comes. None of them is Buffon! Kanu was not even on the pitch so it does not make a big difference with whom he was substituted Ike Uche ---I have been a fan of that guy. I dont know why he did not make the cut. However, with the state of the Eagles today it does not matter who was fielded. We just have to accept that the Ivorian team is much more superior. Two players from Arsenal , two players from Chelsea, My favorite player form Barca and not to mention the kones and the zokoras. It ois only going to be a travesty of justice if Nigeria had won that match. |
thx ![]() |
Mali 1 Benin 0 Getting hot in dat group Mathematically, Nigeria needs to win its 2 games to qualify. |

FBS:If u like go bring Fabio Capello or Gus Hiddink put for there , if we dont clear up the clogs in our system we would never get out of this quagmire. One thing people forget is dat Westerhoff was a success not because was a coach but because he was wily manager too. He took advantage of the military dispensation then. He cut so many corners in terms of adminsatrative crap and he had direct access to Aso rock. The military guys were also more than happy to side step the ministry and deal with Westerhoff directly. @ Doyin I agree with u on dat. Where is Yusuf Ayila? In my opinion , he is the best holding midfielder we have got ever sice the exit of Oliseh. I never liked Seyi as a player. He seemed to me more like another Efe Sodje |
LMAO @ Doyin ![]() The only reason why you would think that Nigeria will win is just patriotism which is understandable. Apart from that , all indices point to an Ivorian victory. So I am wondering why u should be putting ur plasma TV on the endangered list. Please stop calling for the head of Vogts. At this point now we cant genuinely assess if he is good or not. We have gradually dug our own grave since the end of Westerhoff's era. Even Westerhoff went to 2 nations cup before he eventually stuck gold in Tunis. We know we have the talent . We just need the consistency and dedicated preparation. And good luck to you, if u think the sports ministry and the NFA will give u that |
anusule:Well that might be due to the fact that there was no drawing board to start with. Instaed of going back to a non existent drawing board it might be helpful if we actually built one . However, this does not spell the end of Nigeria in this tourney. Lets face it, we just played against what to me is the strongest team in Africa at the moment. We all know that we dont have a fantastic team right now. We lost 1:0. Big deal. We will still play for sometime in the tourney but definitely not to the finals. We just dont have a team that is good enough!!! We should have all realized that when Angola stopped us from going to the World Cup finals |
It was not such a surprising result. Please stop screaming @ Vogts. Nigerian football has been way on the decline even before Vogts. Gone are the days when we had a steady supply of young hungry talents. We really have to go back to the drawing board that is if there was one to begin with. |
@ I man Oga, I thot Gallup was reserved for George Horace Just post ur piece and forget about name calling , abeg. However, that does not remove anything from the validity of ur point. Not all Pakistani people are blaming Musharaf for the killing just as not all Pakistani people blame al-qaida. However, somebody has pointed to the fact that al-qaida has owned up. Well, that narrows it down quite a bit for me. As for the US seeing Bhutto as a more dependable ally than Musharraf, I dont know about that. But one thing I know is dat the US has no long term ally or foe. U are only relevant as far as thier plan includes you. Once that plans changes, then U are very expendable. |
@ Romeo Complete madness ,my brother. I am even more surprised about the case of the husband. Someone who had spent 11 yrs in jail over charges of corruption and blackmail is now the "caretaker" of the party. |
LMAO Dont worry . U will get all the welcoming that U can bargain for, and then some ![]() |
