ThAnk you byvan, when I remove him he starts crying even when he is nibbling. He sucks whenever he is awake, no play time, either crying, sucking or sleeping. You need to see him fighting with me when I remove brea.st from his mouth at just 11day old. It wonders me.

Please is there anything like overfeeding for new born babies? My 11day old baby boy can suck for 3hrs straights if allowed.brea.st is runing though not like tap, so he is actually sucking out enough milk.

Abegi no get scared with my story, we have read abc labour stories here over and over again, my prayer is that it will be easy for u ijn. The joy of seeing ur baby wipes away all pains.

Helloooooooooooooooooooooo, abegi make una no vex ooo and thanks for all the congratulatory message. see me wey dey help us dey push people for birth stories dey slack . Experience they said is the best teacher. After the stress l went through at the hospital, l thought it will be better when at home, hmmmmmm the sleepless night is sometime else, adjusting to the new status isn’t so easy for me, but am getting it.

Went for my normal appt on 3rd, was already booked for a scan. When seeing my doc, l could sense he wasn’t happen with the scan report, he finally told me, he is weary with the water surrounding the baby, that its borderline. I asked the implication, he said it means the placenta is degenerating, and if we allow till when labour kick starts, the water will keep going down by the day and it will lead to emergency CS at the end. The only solution for that day was to commence the process of induction that night, we accepted his suggestion. I was check still 2cm dilated, by 9pm of that 3rd a caterthar (sorry spell) was passed to ripen the cervix, and membrane sweep was also done to kick start labour (two different uncomfortable experiences) The ballon fall off about 2hrs later, and dilated the cervix to 4cm. The expected l might fall into labour during the night...4wia my body dey kempe. By morning l was still 4cm and no labour. The induction proper started by 11am, the doc manually tried to break my water – 4wia, the pain was too unbearable that l started kicking him, until he left me. I started praying that God should lessen the pain for me and pls break the water by himself..within mins the water broke. Contraction started 10mins, 5mins, 2mins... all these while l was strapped on the labour monitoring machine.... at 2mins intervals the highest strength of contraction was 92percent....the nurse expected i should have the urge to push...4whia..., they decided to check me, to their surprise l was only 5cm dilated when according to them i should be about 8-9cm...so for a completed 4hrs labour l only dilated 1cm. Before you know it, the strength of contraction reduced to 42percent and refused to go up, by then my BP that was 90/60 when l came for my appt has gone up to 137/100, my baby heartbeat was going up and down. The whole medical team were concerned...so we were advised for CS if l want my baby alive, immediately l started shivering... they put off all the ACs in the labour room 4whia. My DH was already a dead man by this time because he has been with me all throu even in the labour room. At the theatre l was still shivering and still contracting. Immediately they start the operation, l felt my spirit left me and another spirit entered into me..i started speaking in tongues, l spoke tongues till d operation ended in less than 10mins.I thank God for sparing my life and my baby’s life.

If this is how CS is, i will continue to prefer CS a million times over natural birth. I was discharged after 3days, and have been strong to the Glory of God.

Welcome. All d symptoms are pregnancy rated, nothing to worry. Take enough fluid and oranges with time it will ease.
I will say, wait till 8wks before running a pelvic scan so u can hear d heartbeat.

you are just right, it has to do with muscle relaxing and also as the cervix is getting lower. I remembered in the first poking the gynea said the cervix was still high, guess the process of trying to reach it made him poke his hands deeper. Again the last one, the gynea applied gel on the glove which the first didn't, though he told the nurse he doesn't like using gel, but the nurse had already poured.

thanks for the update. now l know why my anc teacher said the size of the baby is not a determinant of whether or not to have a tear, but having a tear is a factor of how roomy and elastic the mum's perineum is.

I was reading something on contraction and dilation. Read where some will contract like hell for days without single dilation and others will dilate without contraction but start contracting few hours to actual delivery or being induced if no contraction at certain stage. Pregancies are really different!

Your own laugh na small my sis, my dh don laugh/tease me taya. I no send am. Infact na this morning he brought out one of our baby bags from d boot,we hv decided to permanently keep d other there for now, shame no gree us bring am out ysterday when neighbours were around. My journey is always a case study, I want people to learn and others make reference in future, that's why am always detailed in my post.. I believe in saying it d way it is.

Pls at this stage by all means avoid sleeping on ur back. I usually use pillow to wedge my back and also tell ur dh to watchout and wake u whenever u are on ur back.

really on show? why did they categorise it as major signs of labour then. in my anc class the mentioned three things that indicates labour as 1. rupture of membrane 2. contraction or menstral like pain 3. show.
l want to ask, is bloody show different from one not tingled with blood? mine was not tingled with blood, just dropped like a globe of egg white but milkish in colour.

My sis d you wan make I born for house? d way d thing take gushed out, I think say na the water broke , infact I told them when I got to d hosp that my water don break, its after poking they said its d mucus plug. Gynea said now that they will observe me for 24hrs before deciding what next. I feel like goin home jorr . Anyway I pray God begains to quick my body,still no pain or contraction, only ones in a while uneasyiness on my waist.

Thanks everyone. I have not stooled today, guess it has stopped.

So this morning, I saw the 'show'. We rushed to the hospital after 'poking' only 2cm dilated. Am not having any single contraction, hv been admitted waiting for what next from my gynea who is yet to come. Pls cross ur fingers for me, I want all natural delivery.
