Please this is Nigeria. I am concerned about your safety. Nigerians can be very deadly once it comes to property issues.

If you know you can safely make the complaint without anyone finding out it was you then go ahead and make the complaint. Otherwise if you have some extra money just look for a safer accommodation elsewhere.

P.S - Unless you can make the complaint anonymously because I have heard of cases where the state agency actually revealed the identity of the complainant after money exchanged hands. Please be careful.

Haa Ishi you remember the mental case guy . That was just one of them. This particular one said he lost his job and could not feed his family of five ( wife and four kids). I later found out he is a serial scammer with numerous monikers after sending the money.

You need to lodge a complaint with the scammers bank (UBA) so his account is flagged and blocked, but since you said you don't have a UBA branch in your town, then contact EFCC by email immediately. Their email address for complaints is info@efccnigeria.org and make sure you attach all relevant documents.

You can also go to the police but knowing how unprofessional our police are, you might just end up spending more than the money your wife was scammed with the Nigerian police.

I believe your wife has learnt her lesson, please don't scold her anymore. She will never repeat this in future, she was just greedy. Cheers.

P.S - I just did a search on the UBA website, you can also send the same email to whistle-blowing@ubagroup.com and send them messages via whatsapp as well with all the documentation to +234-9062834807 & +234-9062833874. With this I believe the scammers account will be blocked while the investigation is ongoing.
