Excellent response. Anyone who feels they must prove anything to those shouting "parasite" is just as deluded as those who make the claim in the first place. Only illiterates, feudalistic trouble-makers and ethnic jingoist would be dumb enough to demonstrate the ignorance it takes to tag anyone "parasite".

I really wonder how some of the feudalistic losers who swamp Nairaland exist in the real world where success in life, increasingly, is determined by individual talent and not race, ethnicity or what "your people" have in their soil. Anyway, this is why I call them losers in the first place. Only losers and ill-exposed clowns can write as some do on Nairaland in this day and age.
Abi.
Honestly most of them do not need any excuse really to show up with the usual lines but threads like this are really unnecessary.

I wish I could be as fluid as you are cos I love the way your positions changes with daily news.
Its just a bit worrying that cos of instant gratification thatt we haven't even seen some people are being used by others  who should naturally be their followers.

You guys don't get it. We may be repeating the mistakes of history by not learning from it. This is a difficult period for Nigeria. There is no point at which we cannot rescue our Nation , with mature and bridge-building behaviour, from the abyss it is heading towards. Feudalistic conduct and the adoption of hateful stances against other ethnic group only worsen things.

Here again, history is playing out before our eyes. The Yorubas have done nothing but be diplomatic and steadfast in their search for solutions. Theuy keep meeting and offering commonsensical solutions all of us, wherever we are from, should back. They constantly urge GEJ and our legislatives to ensure we meet and redefine the terms of our union. The Yorubas are not putting a foot wrong currently.

As usual, and with the post above, I only see an empty desire to give a dog a bad name to hang it. It is the feudalist and bellicose sabre-rattlers who should be told to pipe down. What would be bad is for folks to start revisionism in futre when the worst has hapopened and innocent Nigerians have died. For once, I would hope Nigerians remember the provocative role we are seeing some playing now instead of regurgitating the usual vacuous nonsense against Yoruba folks .
You have been on this platform long enough to know these guys, you r better of arguing with stones, man.
How people could magnify a meeting held by jobless area boys and ascribe to it a serious political alignment is laughable and flipping silly.
If we had shut ' awa resource control president' out of Lagos and Oyo we wouldn't have this funny characters making mouth openly, they will still be in the creeks playing scooby-doo ambush on pipelines and bailing, lol.

Asari Dokubo Acn chieftain ke?Kilode! Who dash am, really funny.

You got to stand up for the core
Northerners at times because I noticed that any socio-political environment perceived as sensible and well organised within Nigeria automatically becomes an enemy to some people, especially people who are either a cultural or political minority.
PoliticsRe: A People In Terminal Decline by Ufeolorun(m): 2:04pm On Feb 20, 2012
Someone is finally waking up.BH would rattle the whole NE/NW and Jona won't do a thing cos a displaced core north is in the best interest of Jonathan and our latter day political power holders/Resource nationalists.
BH=Operation Iroju raye(confusion) for the northerners =jenraye she temi (enough space) for Jonathan, copying Pius Adesanmi here.

Its time you guys own this crisis and stop waiting for Jonathan. BH is more of a threat to your livelihood and the unity of our country than SNC.

BusinessRe: Jaiz Bank To Open 13 Branches This Year by Ufeolorun(m): 4:33pm On Feb 15, 2012
Are they going to survive using this model? because they are basically buying into any business who approach them for funding, isn't this risky.
The advantage of being a creditor cannot be under estimated;you get a first line charge on income. This is free money o for business because when you buy into me business(equity) then i wouldn't have to share profit (profit is very much subjective anyway) if my book says there's none.
I assume any company they fund would  allow Jaiz have representation within their decision-making framework but how many companies are they gonna be engaging at a time.

Whats the difference between interest and profit anyway(ignoring technical jargon, they are both returns.),seriously this is just an ideological shenanigan.
I need to learn about Islamic banking its becoming interestingly confusing smiley.

Even Ijaw seperatist who now have political power are not virtually spamming this platform with their needed sovereign dreams.

PoliticsRe: Constitution And Its Prohibitions - North Under The Microscope! by Ufeolorun(m): 11:57am On Feb 14, 2012
Dudu_Negro:
Individually Me_Aboki has no power, he could be a pauper, a roadside shoe shiner  (for illustration, not saying you are one). . . but under the Northern umbrella, he acquires a collateral power that now elevates his hierarchy and access to corridors of power above that of a Professor in the South.  The collectivism is the reward. . . .there is a cost to it.  What is that cost?
My point is I don't admire the so called northern collectivism imposed by un -enlightenment and deliberate denial of education to ordinary people, you want Almajiri system in the west? It will be the cost.

Educated Nigerians are typically out of touch, give a Nigerian Uni. degree and he's likely start feeling better than the society which the acquired education is actually meant to improve and support. My point, even in the south education doesn't really mean much in politics cos a lot of educated people seem/act politically disconnected. How educated is MC Oluomo or late Adedibu?

Summary;
Northern collectivism isn't the result of political savviness but feudalism.
Education doesn't necessarily bestow political advantage on anyone,a professor is also likely to be irrelevant politically  in the south too.
PoliticsRe: Constitution And Its Prohibitions - North Under The Microscope! by Ufeolorun(m): 8:00am On Feb 14, 2012
You can easily force your beliefs and decision on someone/people who is/are not enlightened and even call a dog a baboon and they would believe but people who have been used to participatory decision making process will never allow such, they will always ask questions .In short collectivism becomes easier in a feudal society.

A Fashola would normally rationalise decision but decisions spurred by religious ideology aren't always rational hence its easy to setup Hisbah to kiss up to fanatics than to set up state police to protect people.

I think people give too much credit to Northern politicians by this constant talk of 'Born to rule' and this is why Me_ Aboki could engage in subtle chest beating above.Goodluck jonathan an ordinary political neophyte usurped an agreed political order and all the northern establishment could come up with in response were empty threats and bloviating. If Jonathan with no strong political machinery or history did successfully, any political-savviness ascribed to Northern politicians is just mere sweet talk.

Why are they attacking Soyinka?.Boko haram is virtually threatening their communities and livelihood but all they have been doing is to writie all sorts of nonsense about Soyinka.
You people had better stop seeing Bh issue as a Nigerian one,NO! it's not, right now it remains a Northern issue(NW,NE) and i am very sure any attack outside these areas and some part of NC like Niger.,Nasarawa states will be seriously resisted.I was shocked to me bone that after Bh killed more than 200 people in Kano the only response Kano leaders had was a prayer session, flipping hell-like! angry.North easterners/westerners need to take up the challenge now while the Nigerian structure is still in existence cos they will be in a huge mess if bh succeeds in tearing this country apart(i pity people like Sam nda Isaiah)

The president we have right now has been showing separatist inclination and no sign of  seriousness about tackling Boko haram. You lot better stand up to protect your communities and leave Soyinka and his Yoruba culture alone. angry

Ok.
I was just messing about seant, really.
Nothing against Lisabi exploits.

@topic Maybe the Ifa doctrines, its acceptance and practice unified our fathers more than wars and trade.
Though I don't do Ifa but the embrace of Ifa believe system/religion by our fore fathers may just be the source of what we know as Yoruba today.Yoruba language may just be the Ifa language originally and spread through acceptance and practice.
Just as christianity helped spread the English language and catholic-practice, the Spanish lang.

Just thinking.

. . . who was this Lisabi Agbokonla?   I mentioned a warrior that did what no other African coastal power had ever done or dared to do to the invading European - terrorized them and forced them into a compromise, rather than adopt their terms by default.   You must have mistaken Kosoko for Akitoye and Dosumu.   Repeated bombardment of Lagos by British only succeeded by an act of luck. . . and not by virtue of tactical or strategic superiority to Kosoko's defense of his domain.  You cannot talk about him without mentioning his war general - Oshodi Tapa.  First read about Oshodi then come for lesson on the commander himself.   grin

Sums up the chaos Ibadan must have been then.I was wondering why late Adedibu was one of the top chiefs in Ibadan despite his 'thuggish' antecedents but now i know cheesy.
When Olubadan asked him to choose between his traditional title and politics,he fired back that all the chiefs including the king himself play politics hence he cannot choose and Olubadan cannot take his title away. grin grin

See you, of course everyone will tell stories from their perspective, by the way the Ajeles were the guys situated in your land to collect royalties and instead of you guys to just pay your 20% pere, you guys came with stubborness, after all we needed money to fight the Ilorins nau, it is all good sha, where will I get my well pounded yam from if not from an Ekiti wife and an Ijesha mum.

We (The Ibadans) were troublemakers, of course you guys got your independence and in return Ogedengbe tormented you guys after the war grin.

its not about 20% pere but how demeaning it is for someone to part with some of his valuable belongings to a king who you probably don't know or is not that relevant to your life.
I think if we Ekitis had learned from the Ibadans and stopped living in separate small towns, converge on Ado or any other huge town, build a buffer like the Ibadans did,we could have been unstoppable. We got the spirit and the numbers wink grin

Since then we have been using that victory as morale booster to stand against modern day tyranny(Obj,fayose,Oni)
