It's becoming normal stuff here to read those  who have no semblance of cohesive political or cultural society chatting about slicing and dicing Nigeria.
You are likely to end up being the hardest hit regardless of all your internet chest beating, the ominous signs are there for all with common sense to see.
PoliticsRe: My Predictions On The Fuel Subsidy Fiasco And The Imf Connection by Ufeolorun(m): 7:03pm On Jan 09, 2012
Mai-suya:
It is no secret that Europe is in crisis, and just like a drowning man Europe is clutching on straws. And now Nigeria happens to be latest straw Europe is clutching on, so we either play along and further condemn the masses to further improvishment or we drown together.

So what am I saying? The European stability fund or EFSF was created in 2010 to source funds to bail out the ailing Europe economies. Note, not that they already have the funds, but to borrow elsewhere. Now who in his right senses will lend money to a broke guy? Well that's where Nigeria is heading (just keep reading). Thus the EFSF in a special purpose vehicle structure. ( I will try to avoid technical areas for easy understanding, but what SPVs mean is simply don't like at the broke guy u r lending money to, just focus on the economic sense of lending out your excess funds!)

I WILL BE RIGHT BACK
Exactly Mr. The Chinese made it clear to them that they are not ready to use their treasury to prop up Europe's budget but we are so unfortunate to have an edareda ( anywhere belle-face) as president, i am very hopeful that history wont repeat itself. I also believe there is energy/crude oil dimension to the whole scam. This is beyond fuel price of 65naira
Godbless you and please do come back.

PoliticsRe: The Economist On Naija Fuel Subsidies by Ufeolorun(m): 10:03am On Jan 04, 2012
They are in pet. importation business and normally in it to make money, its not their business to man our borders, that's government job and it has failed woefully in this regard.
If they cannot prove that Oando and co are involved in cross border smuggling then trying to create a boogey man out of them is just a distraction.
Maybe the government should start handing cash to individual Nigerians so that these 100 scapegoats wouldn't get free money anymore.

A wasteful  government in a dysfunction system as ours cannot tell me they want to save money.
These vandals cannot be trusted.

"Its very shameful to see how irresponsible nigerians can act and demonstrate on matters of less importance. Boko Haram is killing innocent citizen and no one is demonstrating. Only for criminals,Hopeless Agberos and jobless students who dont even own a bicycle to waste their lives over fuel subsidy. When it comes to fuel price reduction, christians and terrorists muslims will come together to demonstrate, but they will turnback to kill us later. What a shame?"

All am saying is that Nigeria should protest against the top shot sponsors on boko haram,if we succeed on that, then we can protest on  fuel subsidy removal, even if Jonathan suspend it,terrorist will still be killing innocent people cool
embarassed
I am surprised you know what shame is cos that's the only word I can use to describe your activities on this platform. These agberos do not have cars or bicycles but they surely eat Agege bread, and if the connection is difficult for you to make those who make Agege bread use generators at their bakeries. sad
PoliticsRe: Fuel Subsidy And Exchange Rate by Ufeolorun(m): 4:57pm On Jan 02, 2012
koruji:
Analysis is full of holes.

1. Contrary to the anecdotes, smuggling is a small part of this whole story, so you are counting phantom savings that doesn't exist.

2. Counting the reduction in fuel consumption due to the more than doubling of the price of fuel is like a FATHER COUNTING HIS SAVINGS FROM REDUCING THE FEEDING OF HIS HOUSEHOLD FROM 3 MEALS A DAY TO ONE. That is senseless. Actual reductions in fuel demand mean actual reductions in the welfare of the average Nigerian, and at the end of the day of the economy as a whole. GEJ likes to say our economy is growing at 7%, but without palliative measures look that to drop to 4-5% this year.

3. If other countries join in increasing prices which reduces demand for petrol then the reduction in crude oil might cause the price of oil to go down by a couple of dollars. That translates to a real loss of revenue for Nigeria.

The bolded could just be the reason the IMF has been pushing African countries to remove subsidy on pet, basically to help plug some holes in Western budgets (Reduced crude oil price is good for Western budgets) huh .Goodluck Jonathan is a bigger threat to Nigeria than Boko haram cry but our focus should be on Okonjo, shes the real face behind Oro (masquerade) tin ke ninu igbo (shouting in the forest)

E le i ti a lai mo'kan fi n'se ara e lo po ju i.e

Thats Okonjo first brief on her secondment to Nigeria. Its clear from the incoherent explanations and loads of flipping waffles from the proponents that this is not an internally designed approach at strengthening our economy.
This government needs intervention angry.

PoliticsRe: Zambia Targets Nigerians For Indiscriminate Deportation by Ufeolorun(m): 4:55pm On Dec 24, 2011
You may disagree with my point of view
but you don't have to be really silly about it

The point is most of them have well planned cities or city and I don't care what their villages look like.

Ten years of telecom in naija ordinary voice call is still a big issue talkless of heavy data communication.
Nepa nko o? but we arrogantly assert and look down on better performing countries relative to available resources. Go look at top university rÀnking in Africa and you will find unis from some of this 'small,no-do-good countries beating the almighty Nigeria(Ougadougou,Dareesalam,Nairobi, even Sudan.Olodumore o!)

Like  I said earlier sata is  naive and needs to be cautioned but Nigerians in Zambia should play local politics smartly

The topic of my sermon: oh! squarepants!stop the condescending response, reactions to things or issues concerning other African countries. grin
PoliticsRe: Zambia Targets Nigerians For Indiscriminate Deportation by Ufeolorun(m): 12:37pm On Dec 24, 2011
Most of these African countries are better than Nigeria especially their infrastructure so It's very funny when some Nigerians ask arrogantly what their compatriots are doing in smaller african countries.

About  retaliation, the first question is how do you identify a Nigerian in Nigeria?

The Zambian president is just being stupid and he should be called out.
Nigerians should play local politics smartly to avoid possible backlash next time.
PoliticsRe: Retain Subsidy And Perish- Sanusi by Ufeolorun(m): 7:44am On Dec 23, 2011
Sanusi is definitely surrounded and I feel sorry for him, does he really believe what he said or just waffling for self preservation.
He talked about not devaluing the naira,he caved, and now this soggy_talk!.
The labour movement should keep a close tab on Okonjo.
She's the brain behind this incoherent policy and these shifty, senseless explanations.
Fix the damn refineries to full capacity or take a stepped approach to subsidy removal and show us where the first cut went like some proposed earlier.
Nobody trusts the system hence the present course of action will not sell.
PoliticsRe: Lagos Targets Churches, Mosques In 2012 Tax Drive by Ufeolorun(m): 8:58am On Dec 22, 2011
The beauty of taxation/levy is that it makes people engage the system.
These taxes must reflect what's on ground or else na big trouble, the
protest against tolling is an ominous sign.

Our tax system should not be  wholesale lifting of foreign fiscal system it should reflect our cultural values(tax on gift?),there are instances of this in the UK tax legislation(spousal exemptions, nil rate band, chattel rules, gift aid donations relief, annual exemptions e.t.c).
