We are all lazy from the people who shout about the oil belonging to them as if na him papa put am there to the goro munchers up north, and the Owambeic westerners. We are all lazy,In fact the closer you are to the oil the lazier you get. ![]() |
Forming busy We shall join them to kick you out in 2015 so that you can go form your laulau-delta republic |
odumchi: I prefer "oyibo" as opposed to "oyinbo" simply because it maintains the original feel of the word. The word "oyibo" itself was a nickname given to Europeans by Igbo people since they found it difficult to pronounce "onye Igbo" and instead said "oyi ibo" when referring to Igbos.Oyinbo is two words joined together that's rooted in Yoruba language hence makes more sense than your onye igbo story but your story is funny though . lol Yin=scratch bo=peel. I think the first yorubas who saw the white men thot they have peeled skin that's why they looked reddish hence Oyinbo |
iykay4455: ...and this made it to the front page.Nairaland moderators, you guys need to change.Your Igbo hatred is getting too deepThere's no hatred anyway ojae!As long as you guys continue to throw your 'weights' around this platform you always gonna get front page honour. |
Am not supporting Aregbesola here but come next election I would prefer prof.Ajayi Borrofice in that office in Ondo.Jumoke Ajasin won't be a bad idea either. One thing is, Acn keep fooling us with decent candidates who just seem to get lost after elections. Adeyeye,Ojudu,Fayemi etc. |
patriot2: You say no disrespect for the emirate while you disrespect the obaship, what does pegan mean ?We actually saying the same thing, pointing out hypocrisy that has been sold to some people. If you want to successfully deceive some of our people all you need to do is sandwich anything with religious covering and they are likely to swallow it without asking questions. |
Ogbeni razist, Aregbe isn't a seccessionist ok!.why would he want Nigeria broken when Oodua republic is achievable within Nigeria,we can always enjoy the benefit of being Nigerians and also integrate our communities from Ogbomosho to Owoh-madeh. What would an Oodua republic offer us that we can't get in Nigeria? The republic is already there, present within this current contraption. |
A clear message to the baby secessionists. The northerners are not about to give up on Nigeria hence all those who matter up north got to go Osogbo. |
By GBENGA OLARINOYE OSOGBO—In the wake of a heated debate on national unity with particular reference to disagreement between some northern elements and their southern counterparts over derivation and fiscal federalism, some traditional rulers in the country including the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saa’ad Abubakar and the the Ooni of Ife, Oba Okunade Sijuwade, have advised Nigerian leaders to drop all impediments to national unity and work together for the overall development of the country and ensure cooperation among the diverse ethnic groups. Governor Rauf Aregbesola, who hosted the eminent traditional rulers, the Emir of Kano, Alhaji Ado Bayero, the Emir of Zauzau, Dr. Shehu Idris, and other traditional rulers from the state, to a reception at the Government House, Osogbo, also added his voice to the call saying, “Since there is no other country we can call our own, Nigerians have a duty to ensure the continued cooperation of all entities for peace and progress.” The governor, who had been accused of championing a secessionist agenda because of his belief in regional integration, said, “I want to seize opportunity of this visit to call on all our political leaders, spiritual leaders, military leaders and traditional leaders to drop whatever it is that is beclouding our focus to build a virile, united, country that we shall be proud of. I commend the sacrifice and commitment of these leaders. Nigeria is a star in Africa. We all must rally round that focus, that potential to make it not just a mere big nation but a nation that is big in population, big in size and big charting a course for all the black people of the world.” Aregbesola commended the role of traditional rulers in the country. He said: “We can be great. Our traditional rulers are already showing us the path to greatness. Unity is the basis of progress. Let all of us come together and work towards the progress, development and peace of our nation. We have no other country we can call our own Nigeria is ours. And willy-nilly, we will be accountable for what becomes of it. It is our desire for our nation to be as great as other nations that are great. And for the greatness to happen there must be stability. A major implication of this is the fact that today; there are some issues in the core of the North, particularly Kano. So, if the Emir of Kano would leave the instability there, take the time to visit us here at this moment, it is a major sacrifice that must be recognised.” Responding, the Emir of Zauzau, Dr. Shehu Idris, said that for centuries, traditional rulers had provided a way to promote unity among the ethnic communities in the country, stressing that the unity of Nigeria was not negotiable. www.vanguardngr.com/2012/03/ooni-sultan-aregbesola-others-canvass-national-unity/ |
Hopefully this is just a test and the real, new Nl is still on the way.i am seriously hopeful ![]() |
Neo-colonial aspect of religion. |
c.fours:He's prolly not interested in your dictionary explanation but rather wondering about your condescension. What's not Pagan about Arab culture? Emirs are foreign creation and they shall remain so no matter how many religious props it get. Obaship is pegan but emirship is religious this is what has been successfully sold to these people and that's why such aberration has existed in Ilorin,no disrespect to the emirate system though. |
Look at that girl, just hanging on top of that house without fear ![]() I am actually fascinated by some of these pictures especially the one with the women on a mobile-canoe kitchen and her boy-customer seriously stretching out his plate.very funny. They all depict the ability of man to cope or adjust.Life can be better even on-top of water ,it doesn't have to be like this though.A lot of them are not immigrant they own these places. If there are Ilaje people in Delta state then white garment or Aladura cannot be far away, its a lie to say otherwise |
Beaf:Lau lau noni. We are all parasite lol. |
Gideonyte, I am not against resource nationalism cos it will reduce corruption where there's no oil but the argument for resource control is getting worn out and will become stale by the time the real picture of what's going on now comes out, Right now and at this moment the oil wells belong to the federal government of Nigeria. People have grown up with, and depended on the fact that the oil belong to all Nigerians, its now left for those who think its fair for them control it to convince others who have grown with a sense of entitlement to the oil.I think part of the convincing should be the proper usage of the concessions currently enjoyed but a situation where you approach for more concession using this same excuse as before is unacceptable. The continuous insult and threat being thrown at other Nigerians too won't get them anywhere and that's a fact. |
The Federal Government is planning to spend a total of N305 billion to execute projects in the Niger Delta and run interventionist agencies for the region this year, an analysis of the 2012 budget has shown. At least 29.6 per cent of region-based Federal projects for the year, valued at about N116.5 billion, will go to the six South-south states which are among the nine Niger Delta states, according to an analysis by a House of Representatives caucus. In addition to this, the Niger Delta region will benefit from a number of other the Federal allocations through the interventionist ministry, the NDDC agency and the Amnesty programme to the tune of about N189 billion. Out of this figure, the Niger Delta Development Commission will get a statutory transfer of N54.69 billion, the Ministry of Niger Delta will receive nearly N60 billion and N74 billion has been budgeted for the Amnesty programme for ex-militants. http://allafrica.com/stories/201203050588.html And the greed continuous.please lets pay more attention to the laulau allocation on amnesty alone. This resource control issue has now turned a joke. Enough of the greed-fest. You should know that this allocation will be called into question when Jonathan is finally pushed out of Aso rock,to counter the the usual talk of of being marginalized. The oil companies know why they moved and they wont be going back anytime soon, fact! |
Nigeria is already a loose federation its now up to the discerning to know that you don't need to break away to enjoy some form of autonomy while holding on to the benefits of a big and diverse country. We already have a country of our own within Nigeria and its failure has been our hand work,i hope these politician take up their own challenge. |
I can't wait for our overly priced, has -never-done- anything specific minister to go back to wherever she came from. The subsidy issue totally exposed her as one empty professional. Obj realised this and shipped her from finance to one inconsequential ministry. She's not worthy of any celebration, not a single reason to anyways. |
Beaf:$ Bitumen or no bitumen Aregbesola and the Acn will still collect their oily allocation. You go get oilytension o if you don't stop coveting Nigeria's crude oil Lol! |
What's the use of his education and exposure if he's engaging in abusive acts. I must get hold of that budget Olohun! need to see its content. So all this capital allocation is higher than revenue sappy-talk is just a gimmick,I would rather you increased workers salary, yes give the money away than vote money for abusive capital projects. New officy Ushe kan se! |
What's middle-belt.You think Tivs who got emir or turbaned rulers would vote against Sokoto,I didn't realise how clueless and naïve Asari is but now I know. Jonathan would have to deplete the reserve as usual to come back in 2015 and not through any silly sappy-alignment. Dokubos' association of losers.lol! |

New governors office and no student bursary. New office in Lagos?! Aye lo san your excellency ni ![]() |
kutchs:Read what i wrote very well.I have no problem with policy geared towards making life easier for those who feel the impact of crude exploration don't get me wrong,in fact i support the idea that the !3% goes straight to the local governments where exploration happens.I fully support resource control for one single reason;oil has made politicians from from my neck of the woods very corrupt and has also disconnected our people from the age-long love for political engagement.I know by the time they go back to cocoa farm, them no born the father of any politician well to try steal or deceive them. Don't pull the rug from under the feet of any state until the federal system is restructured and a moratorium instituted to allow states innovate on how they gonna survive without federal money. The issue of offshore oil-exploration should also be addressed properly. The idea of calling people parasite isn't right cos no state in Nigeria is really productive. |
Jonathan is the president of Nigeria and he needs to set the country on the part of proper federalism and if he's unwilling to do this he has no moral right to continue this miss-allocation,its unfair and really unjustified.I am with the northern caucus on this and i think the SW caucus should join them. 13% derivation, fine know problem,Nddc fair enough,Niger-delta ministry does not make any sense to me and now this.Restructure the country so people can start looking inwards if you cannot or you are not willing to then stop this unjustified nepotism. The usual noise making and rants of calling others parasite is absolutely senseless taking into consideration that the crude isn't the result of the hard work of any man.We are all parasite dependent on crude nature provided. ![]() |
^ Lol! |
Physics. I get why you r being protective any ways.Babangida if you ask him will tell you is Hausa connections, for Danjuma,I would like to see how they largely bear Hausa names. Akoko(minus Edo) can never be a co-incidence, It's too glaring man,for this to be a source of argument. Smile Safe! |
PhysicsQED:You need to give up man.lol! Non-Hausa People in the north who speak housa don't give their children housa names notoriously (like the Akoko-edos do with yoruba ).Don't confuse Arabic names with Hausa names,a lot of them(N. minorities) are Moslems. Akoko edo area consist of different groups, among them are people who speak a form of yoruba and bear undiluted yoruba names. Its an insult to these people to say or infer that they copy stuffs or names that's basically their culture. The bamideles,Oguntoyes, Olawales in Akoko-edo didn't borrow their names.its basically what they kno as theirs. Why are they the only group in Edo state with the word Edo attached to them/Lg? |
oduasolja:You started here;https://www.nairaland.com/nigeria/topic-877453.0.html You should be ashamed of yourself for unnecessarily dragging one of the states which virtually made the western region a successful and rich one in the mud,you r a shame for allowing people whose home and surrounding can never be compared to what Ondo has to offer to chat nonsense about the state. The internet has provided a platform for some of these guys to anonymously vent their frustrations on their supposed enemy, the victim-hood/us v.them mindset is real and they are ready to go to any level of dirt even without a push from childish poster like you. Omo osan! |
^ yes it is,i meant nick.com actually ![]() |
Oduasolja Thanks for that link, saved.ire wa ninu ibi sha ![]() |
