I am very very proud of what Aregbesola just did, swift, historical and direct.
Let those people from ethnic group of 500 thousand or less who find mutual respect difficult, learn now.
We are in position to teach others what life is and we are doing that. we are sandwiched btw a seriously anti-islam groupings from the south(cos they are majorly christian) and a largely anti-christian north, both are looking for partners but they need to look else where.

CuteTj: i don't think the grudge is between ACN and the minority group that produced the President but its a war between the opposition( ACN, Tunde Bakare) and PDP. Unfortunately, because the President is PDP, any attack on the PDP also hits him. Stop taking every attack on the President as an attack on his tribe. The SW is too enlightned to engage in Religious extremism so it can't happen in the SW unlike the North. The On Muslim and Christian day celebrations, they both felicitate between themselves and eat with each other. As for you and your people waiting for religious extremism and then war in SW, im sorry but you will have to wait till eternity. You better change that your strategy because it won't work.
Same Aregbesola gave free train ride to people during Easter huh
Its the biggest dreams of this illiberal set of human beings, they hardly know what diversity of opinion and way of life mean.
Its has always been one of the biggest rumination of people who come from parts of Nigeria where small minded ethnic and religious bigotry have been the order of the day. Religious balance: How SW does it has been a source of confusion for a lot of these people.
The northerners are trying to radicalise the Muslim Sw while those Non-Sw, illiberal southern christian with disgust for Islam are also playing their games on one side
We have to continue to show both sides that:"It is important to draw
wisdom from different places. If you take
it from only one place it become rigid
and stale"

alj harem: grin grin grin certainly the SW and middle belt would not make the same mistake twice. Hopefully
Sw didn't make any electoral mistake per se,the only mistake we made is owning acn to the extent that they took us for granted then and are taking their sense of entitlement further through mediocre performance.

@Topic if GMB is serious he needs to start now,be visible and take control of the Cpc structures.Late minute campaign should basically be for consolidation.
I cannot stand another years of seriously incompetent, clannish administration.

Sw seriously need a truly progressive party and I strongly believe the young Southwesterner in cpc and afenifere renewal group are capable but they need structures.

edicolove: GEJ made it very clear a while ago that he would de-congest Lagos. This is long overdue. This is only the begining. Lagos has enjoy the status as the business capital of Nigeria because it was a former capital city. That has changed a long time ago. Now the process of balancing things has begun:

1. Move NLNG and other key companies to Niger Delta.
2. Activate and increase the status of the ND sea ports. Warri, Sapele(Best fresh water port in Africa), PH, Akwa Ibom is currently under construction and promises to be the biggest in Africa, Calabar and River Niger.
3. Next increase the status of some airports: Enugu, PH, Asaba and Calabar
4. Then 3/4 of the goods that come thru Lagos will go thru these other ports. Doesnt make sense for someone doing business in Aba or Oka importing his stuff thru the Apapa port.
5. When port activities reduce in Lagos and increase in the ND, people will begin to relocate.
6. By this time, Rivers and Akwa Ibom are already doing 24 hours power. (Rivers and Akwa Ibom should be there this time next year. Only the s.tup1d Delta governor is pulling us back. We will take care of him soon)
7. By this time too, the militants undergoing training all over the world would be ripe to bring what they got to the table.

I am really loving this. Am the man with the MASTER PLAN!

PoliticsRe: 'Ijaw Won’t Take Insult From ACN' — Konbowei Benson Friday, Bayelsa Speaker by Ufeolorun(m): 5:13pm On Apr 09, 2012
Flyboy Zee: @ Shymmex and co, I don't blame you. If not that Seun is an outstanding Yorubaman with his idea of Nairaland, I would have known what to tell you. However, you speak like a very myopic, uneducated, silly opportunist who thinks Naija is all about Lagos. Simple geography we all started learning from SS 1, you still don't know at this age. Well, if the Ijaw youths had insisted that all the oil companies operating within their land should move their head offices from Lagos to the State where they have the greatest operations, I don't think you would have had anything to say, but fortunately for you, they (the Ijaws) didn't.

The Ijaws are not as cowardly as the Yorubas. If you doubt that, just go to Ajegunle in your Yoruba Lagos and ask about what the Ijaws did to the Yorubas some years back.

One evidence that points to the quantity of oil produced by each state can be seen in the monthly Tell magazines where they publish Revenue shared by the Federal Government every month. Please, check the column for 13% Derivation to get some education you are obviously lacking.

It hurts and irks so much when you sincerely contribute so much to a nation's coffers to enhance development and gets so little, while some people who thrives on their laziness in the name of professorship and high-learnedness and achieves nothing but mud houses and squealing poverty (Ekiti for instance) make some noise and talk rubbish on an internet forum. For once, let me ask: WHAT ARE THE YORUBA PEOPLE CONTRIBUTING TO THE REVENUE GENERATED BY THE FEDERAL GOVERNMENT? I beg and wait for an answer. Seun, if you like ban me. That buffoon, Shymmex or whatever has touch something he dared not even look at.
I think this issue has been over flogged on this platform.Ekiti state and Bayelsa were created at the same time,so i challenge you to a review of how the two states have fared since their creation and am saying this considering the massive amount of cash bayelsa gets for doing absolutely nothing.Ekiti didn't attain national relevance just cos some dark materials is seeping from its ground up but we know without oil Jonathan will never have been Nigerian president. Please thank your star for the crude oil without it your situation would have been be a lot worse.
Finally, shame on me for using Bayelsa as a cover up for leadership mediocrity in Ekiti state,I accept we have a long way to go but using such a bottom standard as a basis of assessment is unacceptable.May we never saddle the whole country with a shockingly clueless individual.

torkaka: all this myths about fulani elites running nigeria. why not you people name these elites from 1960 to date! theres nothing like fulani ELITES!!
Yeah! this continuous and constant concoction about some powerful guys up north pulling some fictional strings is getting boring.Islam and not any Fulani calystenics is the single uniting factor among these people in addition to the Hausa language.
Islam is more comfortable getting into a place and wiping out ancestral practices and heritage and then replace it with Arabcentric views and ideology.Only flexible and strong cultures survive this onslaught,Christianity has got its own raiding ability but its more lenient compared to Islam.
I have to point out that you are very correct about some people up north virtually slobbering, bowing to Fulani 'supremacy'.Ilorin is a perfect example but for the resilience of the Yoruba culture. It all still come down to how Islam and religion in general operate.
Now,Kayode Fayemi and Fashola are more of a 'problem' to me than some Gele wearing guys upnorth.

We don't need to re-invent the wheel we can tweak it like the Chinese are doing but we must first build a nation. We have capacity like everybody else but what we do not have is a coordinated structures fully guarded by few influential minority who prolly will be dictators,THE INFLUENTIAL MINORITY WE HAVE BEEN SADDLED WITH ARE SEXUALLY PERVERTED,MORBIDLY HEDONISTIC MIDDLE AGED LOUTS.I say this cos most of the countries we now call developed had once in their life an authoritarian system that enforced compliance and harmony then they graduated to Democracy, thats why i laugh whenever the West calls Chinese government totalitarian.China will never allow democracy for years to come cos they know their success right now and in the future is heavily dependent on sovereign ideological coherence(a proper country)
As long as 'iroju raye'(confusion) pervades our land creative thinking can never happen

CelebritiesRe: “I Cannot Marry An Igbo Man Because They Are Too Nosy – Tonto Dikeh by Ufeolorun(m): 7:41pm On Apr 03, 2012
bokohalal: Interesting. Some Igbos on this thread are already throwing jibes at the Edos for Tonto Dike's rejection of Igbo men. Morals have come to the fore;Edos accept morally loose women, chain smokers, tattoed women and more. But wait. Is Tonto Dikeh an Edo lady? What does that say about the way Igbos bring up their daughters? Are Igbo parents (and Tonto Dikeh's in particular)not thereby culpable in what their daughters turned out to become?
Anybody can have a relationship with anybody for any reason.Whatever tickles your fancy, or fanny. With all that has been said and still being said about Edo women ,especially the Bini ones, you wonder why other ethnic groups still marry out of them. Not all of them are bad? Why then these generalisations about Edo women?
The Edo woman, historically and contemporarily,is the most successful per population, among all Nigerian ethnic groups. A Yoruba sub-group is a distant second.Strip off quota and political appointment and look at the ordinary Nigerian woman at Home and Abroad. Our women, with their male counterparts support have made name for themselves. You can keep your women under lock and key while you face the world alone.Ours is a two-pronged attack!
And you do not have to have loose morals to suceed in life as a woman as many Edo women have proven(my mother a shining example). Thanks dad, for not holding her back.
Nice and respectful way to fight back.
I have to say some of these guys are one of the most insecure louts I have ever come across.
If you feel proud of the implication of what she said why attack other people?well it shows that reverse is the case here, you all feel slighted. You guys need to really work on your insecurity that makes anyone and anything fair game for your putrid attacks.the way you swarm thread in record numbers for ethnic based attack is just shocking
This is too much complex in one place.
She's not even from Edo state.

Kingsleyinfo: Thanks for putting your words across like a civilized being.
that dundee wasn't getting my drift, and he obviously didn't read my post properly before typing his trash.
Like I said in my first post, Popularity doesn't equate quality or being the best and that's what I was really attacking.
The sample conversation on the other hand was meant to point out a certain attitude I have noticed in my time out here.
Where I grew up no one made a fuss if u could speak the local dialect or not.. Its totally up to you to learn or not. If you think it would boost your chances then by all means learn if not its totally ur choice.
But out here I have practically been asked why I am yet to learn yoruba, they go on as if its the alpha and omega of languages. I remember when we got to abeokuta, a friend of mine initially got rejected because she didn't greet the woman in yoruba, in a govt office where English was meant to be the official language.
learning another mans language is no doubt a survival skill, especially when u live there, but when people start taking it personal, u begin to ask yourself if these people actually went to school. Education is meant to broaden our mind and ways of thinking,
Honestly I wouldn't even be perturbed if I had been posted to a village and noticed, this, but in a state capital, it just makes me laugh.
If I get into an environment, and I discover that I need to learn their language for survival, I would damn well do it.
But as for now its not neccessary to me and that's how its gonna be.
My point all day has been, people should not look at others as stoopid because they refuse to learn a particular language. Neither should another claim to be the best on the ground that his language is more spoken than others.
and I still maintain some of these yoruba guys especially the one above, need to change their mentality.
there is absolutely nothing wrong if someone at a given point and place refuses to learn a particular language.

and imagine him calling yoruba a nation, the guy stinks of tribalism, so am not suprised at his school of thought. People dey go school u self carry book run go, come here they reason with I'm yansh.
Bigot.

Am still waiting to here what u people have achieved that others are yet to achieve, that made your brother to say they are the best.
Na wa oh you've been going on and on,you sure have issues to work out with folks in Abeokuta. Don't worry it's just few months and you will never have to deal with those closed minded 'bigots' who feel you ought to learn their language, something 'unimaginable'.
NB. folks in Abeokuta will never stop expecting people who come to town for a while to speak their language though.
Yoruba nation is very much correct, its not official but you have seen it. Sir,here in England despite studying at a postgrad level,I was asked to go do english test to extend my stay and I complied though I felt denigrated.
Nigeria is a big country and some people have a very strong sense of cultural conciuosness that cannot be subsumed by Nigerianess that's why we have a federal system,at least in the books.
I know folks in Abeokuta respect your right so feel free.

Never been to Calabar but I did learn small Efik while growing up:Mesera,Kumiayem,Afokumi ayem!,Kubodicon lol!that's top Efik there for you.
Its normal for people to want others to learn their language and it shouldn't be a source of crude disenchantment to open-minded people.

The chest beaters here are just trying to tweak the knife further into some hateful squarepants on this platform,a thought that turns me smile in to laughter.

I personally do not want the different Yoruba dialects die cos of the expansion of mainstream Yoruba bouyed by the influence of Lagos on the other towns.
PoliticsRe: Babangida’s Letter To Bola TINUBU, Does The Letter Expose The Pride Of IBB? by Ufeolorun(m): 7:19am On Mar 31, 2012
talknafree: @OP, scanned through the letter and even went further to take it to the laboratory to check for the "PRIDE" in that letter and the result came out NEGATIVE.

IBB is only being a gentleman in that letter. Don't your dare step on his toes so he doesn't send you a modified sample in sent to Obasanjo calling him a "A fool at 70 who isn't sure of his real age".

That Maradonna of a man could be as calm and as rough as the wind and a tonado at the same time.

As per Tinubu's Birthday;

Wednesday - they had a colliquim at Eko hotel (which unfortunately I had a meeting there too and the manner vehicles for his event especially the security men packed was hell). The practically turn Eko Hotel to Oshodi Extension on the island.

Thursday - they had his birthday bash at Teslim Balogun stadium in surulere. It took me 2 good hours to exit surulere (a 5 minutes journey on a normal day) and over 3hours to get back to surulere from Ikeja.

Friday -Had whatever they called it at the Central Mosque Lagos blocking tinubu square and environs. It was pretty hell taking alternative routes.

My question is, is Tinubu the Grand Commander and Governor General of the entire South West?

Because even the governor of Lagos State celebrated his last birthday in an orphanage so why all these funfair for a man who introduced and legalized Area boys (miscreants), Loterry (calo-calo), igbo smoking, and political thuggery in Lagos state.

This man uses most of the state funds to satisfy his personal lifestyle and converted most Lagos State owned properties into his personal belongings and also made his immediate family members and associates occupy sensitive and highly placed political offices.

This dude is undoubtedly the strongest Yoruba politician the South West have presently.
What you and others went through is totally unacceptable. The unravelling of the second PDP at work.
Am I really progressive Gan sef? Lol!

One_Naira: I won't even bother addressing all the other insult and lie you just descended to your fellow Igbo. This is just sad!!! Taa Tufiakwa

I'll just address the bolded: The Onitsha is nothing like what you speak. There isn’t any Onitsha on NL so they do not have the access to defend themselves against the accusation brought upon them on NL but I used to live in their community and I can attest, they do not hate other Igbo. They are very proud and I literally mean too proud of their Igbo identity, more proud than any Igbo group I’ve seen in my life, they are very ego-centric about it even, stay in ontisha for a week or two and you'll see that. Any Onitsha denying being Igbo is pretty much in a low percent, very low. Even Phillip Emegawali did not deny being Igbo neither did he say Onitsha are Yoruba (the title is very misleading, try reading the article first), he said I'm Yoruba by birth (gave definition of what he meant: Yoruba by birth because he was born in SW) and Igbo by heritage thus I ask you did he deny being Igbo? He followed the political term of today’s heritage. We have Nigerians that call themselves Nigerian-American, British-Nigerian, Canadian-Nigerian, etc. When asked what they meant they’ll reply I’m American, British, Canadian, etc. by birth but Nigerian by heritage. Do those kids deny being Nigerian of whatever ethnicity? I’ve seen Igbo kids that will tell you I’m Igbo-American and when asked they say my parents are Igbo thus I’m Igbo by heritage but I was born and raised in America therefore I’m American.

Have you ever been to Phillip Emegwali website before? He speaks of Igbo history, Igbo culture, Igbo descent, etc. a lot and the man is an Ex-Biafra solider (a child then so he was a cook). Una should try researching before jumping to conclusion. Also, try to travel and live within the group, the way umu ndi-Igbo believe the lie and divide and conquer tactics used on them is starting to scare me.
You have this sick tendency of coming out with really wacky tales.
Where doth ye get your crazy schemes from ladette
