wats the minimum amount in StanbicIBTC?
From the form you will fill for NTB in stanbic ibtc bank, the minimum amount stated is N100,000. Though I haven't done NTB with less than 1M with them.

They will turnover interest on ur N1m for the next five days lol, Nigerian banks always debiting earlier than expected for their own interest.

Anyway, the auction is in a few days and if unsuccessful they will credit you back.
That's exactly why I don't use FBN rather use stanbic ibtc bank....usually debit me on Fridays or Thursdays after the auction on wednesdays....your money is only on hold on Wednesday morning. ... not fbn that will debit me on Friday before the bidding date...very dubious shadding things...making money from your funds..

Pls note that am just enjoying stanbic ibtc bank services and want people to enjoy it too....

Treasury bills commission (Eco bank)
inform our customers that a Commission charge of 0.125% on the Yield, Custody fees of N100.00 and 0.10% p.a. on the Face Value plus VAT @ 5% flat; are applicable on every successful bid and the charge would be debited from Head Office.

The charges seemed much, if my interest was #89000 after subtraction of the above listed rates my money go don finish na...
Guy can't you port to gtb or stanbic ibtc banks etc that has less charges. ....think wise because some of these banks are desperate to chop any free customers money...

@honeyfave...sorry for the late reply. ..was very busy at work....I know someone has answered your question correctly.

Those that are afraid if FGN will pay back their face value at maturity should FEAR NOT...
If you understand what FGN uses these money to do...infrastructural developments...you will be encouraged to support the government at all times while you get good secured interest upfront.... I TRUST NTB more than FIXED DEPOSIT IN ANY NIGERIAN BANKS....

All the face values i have invested for years have always returned to my account at maturity....at times I have even forgotten except for the alert....even the one I did during the general election has returned to my account. .....what I usually tell pals is that as far as this entity NIGERIA remains, NTB programme continues and will never fail...

Biggybountz:
Champagne Popping!! grin grin grin grin grin First Time Bidder !!!

My Bid through GTB has been successful in this instance as I have seen so many debit alerts come in in the last couple of hours.

I advised the bank to go by their own rate as I have not dictated a rate for them. By my calculations from the amount debited off my account i have computed the rates as:

91days - 12.9%
182days - 16.4 %
365days - 17.4 %

All in all I am happy as I have gone through a lot of pain before these finally come through. At this point, here are my concerns below:

1) What is the proof or evidence that I hold TBs? and they were taken through GTB? as I have not been formally contacted by GTB yet. No documentation whatsoever.

2) How do i know the maturity dates? I have no documentation at all.

3) how do i go about selling them should the need arise?

Thanks to everyone who has contributed here, every contribution has resulted in my successful bid today, I took the pain to read from page 1 and have not regretted doing so. I wish the property section was this informative.
I think you should ask your account officer in gtb ...he or she will give you certificate document that shows your investment in NTB and the date of maturity....also if you want to sale your NTB, I think you apply via your bank and they will help you sale it at the secondary markets. ........although over the years i have been doing NTB...even today, i never ask for certificates on ntb investment as the return alert usually enters my phone automatically on the maturity date, even when i have forgotten

Hope gtb will improve in their bidding rates if the figures you quoted are correct as inflation rate is now 17.6%

Ogas in this forum may give a better idea. ..

I used investment one for my last purchase.

I bidded and won 182 days at 17%. They removed 0.5% OUT OF that rate as charges (so the charge was face value * 0.5% * 182 days * ~366 days) bringing my effective bid rate to 16.5% with no other charges. From my calculation, that charge was over 3x the standard charge in other banks.
Hahahahaha

I know investment -one financial services Ltd will never come last in duely overcharging their customers. ....

Anybody that wants to listen should go with the popular banks ogas in this forum are using for their NTB. ....my 1 naira change advise...

@ ukay2, godash, NOLONGTIN1 and other experienced TB investors

My Diamond Bank seems to be clueless regarding anything Treasury bills. Kindly advice on banks (with the exact branch locations) where i can purchase the bills without hitches. I want to participate in the bid coming up in 2 days time.

Awaiting your kind responses asap.
Any stanbic ibtc bank or GTB will help you do it yourself.....I use stanbic ibtc bank while my friend uses gtb. ..you can bid for yourself in both banks......but stanbic ibtc bank total charges is a bit smaller than gtb..though negligible.

Deadline for submission of your form is 2 pm Tuesdays before bidding Wednesdays in both banks...

Most customer care personels in both banks are very enlightened on NTB programme except they will convince you to go for their own fixed deposit investment that the interest is ridiculous now bearing in mind that the inflation rate of August 2016 is about 17.6%........ for me, any rate lower than inflation rate is not worth it. ....hence I usually go for NTB 364 days at rates from 18.0 to 18.3% if am bidding. .....

Am bidding for myself of NTB 364 days @18.37% tomorrow. ...hope I will be successful so that I can pay my children school fees with the upfront interest....

My oga feelamong and other gurus in the house have the final say.....a beg make una advise us the rates for tomorrow. ...

Thanks

GTB's charge for custodian fee is actually 0.1% of the face value over the tenor as a fraction of a year and not of the upfront discount as you calculated above.
Thanks Sir
