In my experience, endorsement may be problematic (royal academy of engineering). I do not know about tech Nation or the others.
The 2000 slots go mostly unfilled every year perhaps because people do not know about the visa route.

It's actually a good scheme if you can get endorsement and it is not too expensive, in my opinion.
Application for endorsement is about £300 while the visa application is less than £1000. It gives you the flexibility to work for any employer or be self employed. You can apply for ILR in 3 or 5 years and you can apply for a 5 Yr visa instead of 3yrs as in tier 2 process.

Not a good option and that route is allbut closed now. You can't do that for 10 years to be eligible for ILR.
Have you looked at Tier 1 exceptional talent visa? Have a look to see if you qualify or retrain and see if you can get an endorsement.
The route you are plannign will be something like this:
1 yr MSC - You
1 yr MSc - Your wife
PhD - You - 4 yrs
Phd - your wife -4 yrs
Total 10yrs then apply for ILR.
That's too many years to put your life in limbo.
You can look for a Tier 2 sponsor as well.

The guys here have said it all. Do you wanna go into [b]Hardware/Software/Networking? [/b]That would also direct where you should target. These days I think it’s software n coding that’s in vogue, not too sure though. Firstly your current experience is what would help you land a job then you begin to upskill from there.

You have to start from somehere. The comptia triad will get your foot in the door into probably IT help desk.
From there you can then pave your own path.

I did security plus in 2009 and it did help with my other certs.

I am not sure to be honest .... a lot of these roles seem saturated these days. For IT , i am clueless . You can look into Cloud as well , things like AWS seems to have a lot of roles, but how to get in i dont know . Usually a job description can guide you , use that to build

If you have time try edit/shuffle details of your quote such as job title eg. Secretary to PA, mileage allowance and other little things before you choose. Takes a lot of time but worth it.

Also if possible pay at once rather than put it on direct debit, comes out way cheaper

I paid just above £1500 to insure my first car. The car itself, a 2002 peugeot with above 100,000 mileage, cost me only £995 to buy. This was 5 years ago though. I currently pay less than £500 to insure a 2015 peugeot SUV crossover. There are some underground comparison sites that give good deals on car insurance way lower than the popular well-known comparison sites.

if u like it so much, there are many IS 200s on autotrader...the A/c in mine wasn't working anyway...blown fuse or so....there are some for less than 1k, but i must say, if u r the 1st time UK driver....the insurance is pricy....and it has a high fuel consumption. I would advice you look for a good VW golf 1.6 litre. that's the other car i might have gone for, they are fun to drive, i hear Seat Leon is also a spanish golf of sorts

You have to be systematic in your search. Don't buy from a dealer, buy directly from the owner/associates...... Dealers would prepare the car, fix any fixables and some would even offer warranty + capital tie down interest (all this comes at a price).....


Lots of bereaved kids selling dads/mums car, at giveaway prices......

In my banger buying days, buying a cheap car was like a degree course...........
