vedaxcool:You know what? Beat it. I have been through this before. Too many false claims and I don't know where to begin. But trust me, this isn't over untill it is over. |
The following verses gives us ideas. Quran 2:28 How disbelieve ye in God when ye were dead and He gave life to you! Then He will give you death, then life again, and then unto Him ye will return. First man is created dead, this is the first death. Then God gives life to man. Man is thus born alive and lives on earth for a while. This is the first life. Man dies after a while on earth, this is the second death. Then about the Hour, man is ressurrected alive and return to God. This is the second life. Death comes before life, notice that in Qur'an 40:11, the disbelievers mentioned being given death before mentioning life. We can understand this better from Adam 's creation(Qur'an 15:28-29). Adam was created souless(dead) first, then God gave him a soul(life). |
lexiconkabir:I will call it a day after this response. The proof you seek is in the verses already discussed. The souls are taken up to God after death, agreed? If God states that "they will be exposed to hell morning and night", it stand to reason that the souls already with God will be showned their fate while awaiting the ressurection. In summary: 1. The concept of Barzakh as a realm where the dead is reincarnated is not supported by the Qur'an. Barzakh in the Qur'an mean a wall that separates, not a place occupied by beings. 2. The concept of Barzakh as a different world and reality from earth where the soul is tortured for sins on earth is not supported by the orthodox Muslim traditions. Orthodox Muslim traditions clearly states that the soul is returned to the body prior to interrogation and torture in the grave. 3. The Qur'an clearly states that sinners on ressurection regard their grave as a place of sleep. If there really is any punishment in the grave, they wouldn't regard the grave as such. |
lexiconkabir:Being exposed mean being shown or brought forth to hell not necessarily put into it. The bodies in the grave are in sleep as they would allude when ressurrected. The soul is actually behind the barzakh(barrier) as Qur'an 23:100 mentioned. The soul of the disbelievers are exposed to hell morning and night. This is akin to dreaming in one 's sleep. One is exposed to different things in his dream. It doesnt change the fact that he is asleep. To be punished twice as in Surat Taubah could mean twice in this world, not necessarily once here and once after death in another world before judgement. |
lexiconkabir:Updated my last reply, check it. Your translation of the verse is off. |
lexiconkabir:There is a context which cannot be ignored. Who are 'they' in this verse, all disbelievers or the men of Pharoah? UPDATE: Pls check your translation of the verse, if you don't understand Arabic, avoid leaning on one translation. Here is the right translation: The Fire, they are exposed to it morning and evening. And the Day the Hour appears [it will be said], "Make the people of Pharaoh enter the severest punishment." They are not thrown into the fire, they are exposed to it at first. Only after the Hour will they enter it as the verse concludes. |
AlBaqir:I checked the thread but i didn't see much aside Qur'an 23:100 which states a barrier will be placed between the soul and the body. This barrier is more of a block that barrs the soul from returning back to earth, not another world entirely. Quran 23:100: That I might do righteousness in that which I left behind." No! It is only a word he is saying; and behind them is a barrier(barzakh) until the Day they are resurrected. The Barzakh will be BEHIND the soul, the verse didn't state the soul will be WITHIN it. Hence Barzakh, the Barzakh rather a block, not a universe. As for the two deaths and two lives mentioned in Qur'an 40:11, I am still doing my homework. Even if we concede that the second life is Barzakh, where is the indication that souls are enduring retribution here and their corpse in the grave feels this as well? Other than this, the thread you referred me offered mere fatwas of scholars and at best tafsir. See, you are not doing me a favor by responding to my post or presenting the evidences I demand. You are doing it for yourself and those liking your post. Peace! |
@vedaxcool Read and digest my post, it is not too long. I understand your point that the 2003 invasion played a huge role in this. What I disagree on is the claim that situation were all fine in Iraq before the invasion. No, the final clash between Baath party and their opponents was on its way. This is akin to what happened in Afghanistan in the '80s and Egypt several years ago. We have enough crystal balls to determine the outcome if things went differently. |
Empiree:Pls, if returning the soul to the body is a metaphor, kindly explain what this metaphor mean. You should rather explain the Hadith I cited and the first Hadith the OP cited before accussing me being overly literal. At least when you sleep with nightmares, your soul is not in your body during the nightmare. And the body is living, not dead. But the Hadith imply that the soul is within the body during torture in the grave. PS: I think you sound disrespectful at the end of your post. Who the hell do think you are addressing like that? You have no idea who I am! |
AlBaqir:This is where it get convoluted. In your earlier post you talked of a connection between the corpse in the grave and the soul in Barzakh. You admitted here that some bodies are consumed by fire or wild animals, so in the Hadith I cited, the Muhammad words cannot be taken literal. This present another problem: If Muhammad 's words are not to be literally understood, then the soul-body connection in the grave you explain is downplayed. And if the soul-body connection even after death is true, how are bodies consumed by flames or wild animals connected to their soul. You see, I didn't interpret those Hadith literally, AlBaqir. Even though, I don't believe in Hadith, I study them with care. Whether interpreted literally or metaphorically, the message of these Hadith is clear, the corpse of the disbelievers endure pain and suffering in the grave. So much pain that some other Hadith claim everything aside man and jinn hear their cries. A body feeling pain is alive, not asleep. And such a person would not complain of being awoken from his "sleeping place" when the trumpet is blown PS: Am amazed despite all the approval the referrers of Barzakh in this thread obtain for their post. Non of them presented a Quranic verse or Hadith on Bazarkh and what happens there. |
lexiconkabir:You are getting it mixed up. You 've read the Hadith I cited, and you cited one yourself. Try reconciling those Hadith with the concept of Barzakh, this is not possible. So why, accepting it when it contradict the Hadith? As for Chapter 40 v 11, I do not fully comprehend the verse. But even if the first death is earthly death taking one to another realm (like Barzakh) where one dies the second time, there is no indication here that the second life in this strange realm after the first(earth) death is a kind of hell for disbelievers. |
lexiconkabir:Please elaborate. I don't understand your question |
vedaxcool:Am afraid I do not believe half the claims in this documentary. See, I was not born yesterday. With or without the invasion of Iraq and execution of Saddam, ISIS would have emerged eventually. The Islamists, Salafists and opponent of the Baarth party would have given in to violence to eliminate a ruthless dictator. A nation or state can only endure dynasty rule for so long. |
IdisuleOurOwn:This tradition fully implies the torment before judgement for the disbelievers is in the grave, not some Barzakah. I hope the referrers of Barzakah can look further into this. If as Qur'an alludes, disbelievers will claim to be awoken from their sleeping place, then the grave is indeed a sleep place not a torture chamber. I have discussed this in the past with some fellas here. |
AlBaqir: The case of the dead in Barzakh is something likeThis is contrary to the implication of several traditions according to which the soul is returned to the body immediately the corpse is buried, not transferred to another realm. Sunan Abi Dawud » Book of Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah) » Hadith 4734 When a man is placed in his grave and his friends leave him, he hears the beat of their sandals. Then two angles come and speak to him. He then mentioned the rest of the tradition nearly similar to the previous one. It goes : As for the infidel and hypocrite they say to them. This version adds the word “hypocrite”. And he said : those who are near him will hear (his shout) with the exception of men and jinn Sunan Abi Dawud » Book of Model Behavior of the Prophet (Kitab Al-Sunnah) » Hadith 4735 Narrated Al-Bara' ibn Azib: The Prophet (saws) said: At the death of the unbeliever his soul will be restored to his body in the grave. Then two angels will come to him. They will make him sit up and ask him: ‘Who is your Lord?’ He will reply: ‘Alas, alas! I do not know.’ They will ask him: ‘What is your religion?’ He will reply: ‘Alas, alas! I do not know.’ They will ask: ‘Who was the man who was sent on a mission among you?’ He will reply: ‘Alas, alas! I do not know.’ Then a crier will call from Heaven: ‘He has lied, so spread a bed for him from Hell, clothe him from Hell, and open for him a door into Hell. Then some of its heat and burning hot wind will come to him, and his grave will be compressed, such that his ribs will be crushed together. An angel who is blind and dumb will then be placed in charge of him, having a sledge- hammer, such that, if a mountain were struck with it, it would become dust. He will give him a blow with it, which will be heard by everything between the east and the west except by men and jinn, and he will become dust. Then his soul will be restored to him (again). In short, the concept of Barzakh in Hadith based Islam does not answer the original question of the thread. Hadith graphically describe the punishment of the grave as a torment of the body and soul within the grave, not just the soul in a kind of purgatory. |
Empiree:I was hesitant to reply you initially because your posts or ideas lack of originality, packed with straw man arguments rehearsed by apologists, rather than thinkers. Your swift conclusion that anyone critical of polygamy is tolerant of side chick tells how severely hypnotized by traditional clerics you are. |
Empiree:BS, there are sex addicts who are married. You seem to assume that marriage is an ultimate fix for sex addiction or sex addiction under marriage is not a problem. @underlined, do you even preview before posting? It easy to see why your creed is so patriarchal. |
daretodiffer:Be sorry for yourself. There is no us, just you. If I don't speak for you. I might speak for others. Every woman wants to be seen as a sex object however it depends on the context. In any other contexts aside from marriage is derogatory. A wife is a bed mate, a confidant, a mother and a helper. In what context exactly, in the context of serving as fodder for sex maniac? Regardless, you speak for non other than yourself. Peace! |
Jimdonnet:Abeg, park well. |
Adyrin:Mods, please ground this poster or penalize him for this post. He has no right to derail my thread with his business!!! |

20 self-made teenage millionaires https://youtube.com/watch?v=Wky9cLHTc7g&fulldescription=1&client=mv-google&gl=AE&hl=en0 It is no secret that by adulthood, a measure of your self-worth is your wealth; how much dough have you earned, how fat your pocket or bank account is? The most respected in the society are the wealthy. Sadly, even beyond the age of 21, many of us still cannot afford to live on our own. We still depend on our parents to pay our food, rent, transportation, tuition fees, clothing or even items like laptop or phone while getting regular allowance from them. Even after college, many of us still struggle to pay our bills, some still stuck in their parent 's house or sharing a place with a friend. The trouble with depending on your parents beyond 21 or at least after your degree is cannot be overlooked. For instance, many young adults complain of overbearing or controlling parents who intrude every area of their life. The truth is, as long as your parents foot your bills, as long as you keep requesting money from them, you remain indebted to them. They 'll demand more from your time, decide more for you and restrict you from more. They may treat you like a kid instead of a mature adult. Most parents hope their kids on attaining adulthood should be capable of fending for themselves financially to a certain extent. If you succeed in turning the tables, earning your own money and depending lesser on your parents financially for petty stuffs, progressing beyond this to pay your bills, depending lesser and lesser for money from your parents; your relationship with them will improve significantly, you will become less indebted to them. They will become less demanding, less controlling, more respectful of your choices and opinions, and will give you more space. If you still struggle financially or rely on your parents for finance beyond 21, you 'll most likely feel a crack on your self esteem watching this documentary. You will most likely be moved to think smarter and work harder. If the teens in the above video can achieve so much, what is holding you back? 20 Self-made teenage millionaires |
Kunlexic:Peace! I will drop my two cents and urge you to dig further on your own. The Suffis are partisan of suffism, an early Muslim creed that champion a more spiritual and mystical approach to practising Islam, instead of the orthodox legalistic approach. In their discourse, much emphasis is laid on rituals and worship to purify the soul, way beyond statutes. The Sunnis(Ahlul sunna wal Jama'a) are one of the earliest creed to emerge following the death of Muhammad. Most Muslims 80% belong to the Sunni creed. The Sunnis interpret Islam from a more traditional view, laying much emphasis on reports or deeds(Hadith) attributed to Muhammad or his companions. The Salafis were originally partisans of an early reformist Muslim movement in the beggining of the 20th century. The salafis preached a more modern and less conservative take on Islam in order to prove the compatibility of Islam with modern trends(democracy, human right, freedom of expression) and get the Muslim world less dependent on the West, economical and technological wise. The salafis called for a return to the primary texts of Islam, challenging the orthodox interpretation of Islamic text with a more rational and liberal one. Unfortunately, the salafi movement was corrupted from within and outside into Wahhabism, another contemporary reformist movement albeit more rigid, legalistic, ultraconservative and anti-modern in its interpretation of Islam. Today Salafis have no bearing with the original salafis but are Wahabbis. |
klazbaba:Peace! Even though i do not believe in extra-Quranic teachings, i think it will help if you could provide clearer or direct proof prohibiting women from praying alongside men. Any avid reader can easily see that the event in the above narration no where prohibit women from praying alongside men. That the woman prayed behind the men could have been her choice, not neccessarily an obligation for her |
Are you calling him a gold digger now that you have fallen out of love for him? I mean he has always been a gold digger, right from the early days when he was wooing you. You just couldn't see it. A guy that is after your heart will not be leeching every penny from you for his up keep even though he demand for your dough once in a while. |
OP, why do nice and faithful ladies always get their heart broken? You need to realize that very few young men and women appreciate a nice guy or girl. The problem with nice guys is they go after pretty ladies most of whom are spoilt and do not have a good heart. Someone without a good heart won't appreciate another with a good heart. It takes a good heart to appreciate a good heart. |
It is a pity that the OP has not received genuine recommendation. Those advising the OP to go marry are not serious. They express lack respect for women, rendering them as sex object. How many women will be glad to have a man marry her, offering her body as fodder for his sexual addiction? How many of you will give your daughter to sex addict to satiate his lust? Marriage is no cure for sex addiction. It just feeds the addict with sex. Feeding addiction grows the addiction and before you know the sex addict is either cheating on his wife or finding a second wife, because sex addicts are never satisfied with a single partner. Recommendations to curb sex addiction: 1. Stop seeing women behind closed doors. And minimize physical contact. Anything beyond an handshake may trigger your hormones. 2. Minimize your access to materials with sexual contents. 3. Lower your gaze especially on the streets, avoid checking out ladies. 4. Keep away from sexual perverts and perverted discussion on sex. 5. Avoid idleness and keep yourself busy and in company of positive minded persons. Partake in other fun and relaxing activities. 6. See a psychologist doctor 7. Pray. What if you still kinda end up in bed, on verge of sex? Remind yourself the guilt and regret that will follow this short moment of pleasure. You may also resist temptation by procrastinating. For instance, if the urge become too strong and you are about to give in to the sex, promise yourself to have it in a short while (e.g tommorow, in a few days) rather than going for it at the instant. This can calm your body in the meantime, enabling you to withstand the temptation. Later on, you may talk yourself out of going for it. |
Dahveydson:Seriously? But didn't Resident Evil fans condemn the game for not being scary at all? I haven't played the game. |
1. Mind games; So many ladies are guilty of this. Wasting your time instead of being honest to you. 2. Selfishness 3. Arrogance 4. Ignorance |
Empiree:What is all this nonsense? He asked me, me... me and I have introduced myself. Allow him to find the rest by himself instead of spoon feeding him. And, you need to suck it up. Those you call Quraniyyun are not a sect or madhab. A sect or madhab have Imam and a formal interpretation of Islam, an oath of allegiance and penalty for apostasy. Unlike you Sunnis and Shiites, the so called Quraniyyun have non of these. So they cannot be recognized as another sect or madhab |
Sissie:Enough! You are ignorant and lack of respect. @underlined prove you know barely much about dating to discuss concerning it. That is why I earlier asked you of your understanding of dating. If you know, then you won't bring in hugging and kissing here. You admitted courtship is permitted, if courtship can be done without kissing and hugging, why can't dating be? I won't derail this thread further anymore. I will clarify myself on the a new thread in future, hopefully you won't hide the thread. |
Empiree:Am sorry, It seem you have no mercy or respect for animal life. That is why you had no qualms displaying this video. Isn't it more ideal to slaughter an animal whilst it is in a calm state than an animal horrified at the sight of blood and already thrown in a state of panic. Easier said than done. Even as tiny chicken neck can be, one needs to be careful not to cut off neck completely with one slit. I know it's possible but not everyone is able to do so. The Northern Mallams do this perfectly. I have seen them slit the throat ONE TIME. Again, these animal are heavier (tick neck) than the other. So because one swift stroke may cut off the head completely, the animal should suffer the pain of repeated stroke less likely to severe the whole head? Lol @ northern mallams. They only do this for fowls, not beasts like camel or cow. I do agree that they aren't perfect. But to say you wont eat from it is a big waste of time. I go eat am cus na Allah's name bless am.If they killed this animal by electrocution whilst mentioning Allah s name would you eat it? For once, admit that you are wrong. There is no excuse for this |
