Typical Empiree. Talk all u want about me going further "astray" or being "Dajjal". But you fail to prove the wisdom or logic behind wife beating as a means to address a misbehaving wife. You know that for all laws in the Qur'an, there is wisdom and logic. You know that no neutral listener will consider wife beating as a tenable solution to marital misunderstanding. Hence, you & your posse continue to drag this issue of wife beating over and over and over again. I doubt, you even comprehend the verse beyond that word "idribuhunnah".
I do not have time to explain my conclusion and deduction on the verse to persons who can't appreciate the literary context and logic in Quranic verses. For anyone who can see the error in the traditional interpretation of the verse in question and seek a better interpretation, there is enough lead in my post to proceed on personal research and inquiries.

I need not to address the topic, Empiree. It goes beyond saying that your wife beating is not convincing from the Quranic point of view. That is why at this point, I go with pull away for the divorce as the interpretation for "idribuhunna". It may not be perfect; but it is the most accurate interpretation I have found for the verse.

This is as far as am willing to go, do not expect further clarification or analysis from context and semantics, considering how much disrespect I get here. This section has not really changed since I left and this is no surprise to me. I had an eventful 2 years going lenghth to share my understanding in this section and when you look at this, it wasnt easy for me. There ve been a lot of Muslims who tried but failed to do what I did. They knew there are lot of problems with the culture and religion of mainstream Muslims that need to be acknowledged. Maybe they lacked the patience and perseverance to discuss them as I did.

I knew there was no freedom of expression with the kind of moderators you have here. You must accept their overbearance or face ban. I respected all the Nairaland policies for posting but I knew it was never enough.

Does wife beating resolve marital problem? A wife that persist on her misbehaviour even after admonishment and separation from bed by her husband will most likely not amend her ways if hit by her husband. It is common sense people, we are not dealing with kids here, we dealing with adults; full grown women. Striking such a woman would result in her either striking back which may culminate in a violent fight or her taking a more drastic reaction that would affect the family adversely. Women in general do not stand any kind of beating, however light it is. Period.

Another thing the condoners of wife beating forget is that the husband may be overbearing and wrong in his judgement of the issue at hand. If the wife is on the right side, you don't expect her cooperate with her man after his "admonishment" or separation from her bed. You think such a wife deserve to be beaten like a child? Please think!

As a side note, I think Empiree is the worst poster on this section chiefly because he present ridiculous justification to back controversial assertions like wife beating. How does the occurrence of wife beating in western communities justify wife beating espoused by orthodox Muslim scholars. A wife can call the cops on her husband for hitting her and press charges in the west, whereas traditional Muslim women are taught that it is her husband 's right to beat her to correct her.

I believe wife beating is a poor step in addressing marital misunderstanding, capable in escalating into a full blown fight or some other severe or drastic measure from the wife. Rarely does it resolve disputes.

And could you tell me what is confidence to you? From my experience, confidence mean different things to a women seeking their man. To some, it might be about approaching a potential lover and to some, it is about freely expressing yourself without reservation. To others, it might be about speaking in public. For some women, it might be about socializing, it might be about getting what you want and to others confidence is about leading. Everything I mentioned here generally pertains to confidence, yet women when women say they want confidence, they mostly mean just a few or half of these. What one woman sees as confidence may be turn off to another woman.

Importantly, most men do not posses all the above qualities I have mentioned. Women erroneously assumes a man missing one of these is not confident. This is not true. That a man is always sitting by himself at a party or club doesn't mean he is less confident than another man approaching and dancing with women. The thing is confidence bring attention, something that some men just don't want at times. When in a group, I seldom agree to lead even if am nominated. I rather let someone else, even a woman to lead. Not that I can't lead or take control, I just dislike the attention leadership comes with. Of course, women who barely know much about me may take this as lack of confidence on my part, but still there are those who don't see this the same way.

Here are a few important points in response to your questions;


1. Tahajjud is not salat. The verses of the Qur'an never described it with the word "salat". Hence, the requirement of Salat like Ablution do not govern it. Basically, it just involve waking at night to prostrate and invoke God.


2. You can do tahajjud without even getting out of your bed. Everything else like doing Ablution before Tahajjud and performing it preferably in the latter third of the night are baseless claims or hearsays. You can check all the Quranic verses that deals with Tahhajud for confirmation-- Qur'an 17:17, 28:26, 73:6, 26.


3. Menstruation doesn't render women impure for any ritual in Islam. Sure menses, may be physical impurity, but so is a mucus from the nose. That you have mucus running from your nose is no ground to exempt yourself from salat. Is it? This is why you wont find any verse in Quran exempting menstruating women from any act worship, salat, fast or reading the Quran.

Of course, those who disagree with me will cite Hadith on the prophet prohibiting menstruating women from acts of worship. Please, check the link below for a few evidences on the earthly and spurious nature of Hadith books. I really don't have time to go into that matter again.

I was hesitant about posting this because of my history here. Islam for Muslim section is no place for my type and that won't change. In other forums, you are shown respect if you are a heterodox Muslim who come in and offers his ideas and knowledge on Islam.

But in Islam for Muslim section, this respect only comes if you are a mainstream Muslim with orthodox view. Someone like me, an heterodox Muslim is not considered worthy of speaking here. That is why I said in an earlier post that I do not consider this section any more than a joke.

I haven't played Resident Evil 5, 6, Revelations 1 & 2, Operation Raccoon City, Zero and Remake. However, having played the rest games of the series, i got to say Resident Evil Code: Veronica has the most detailed and interesting plot among them. In fact, a lot of Resident Evil fans including those that dislike this game admit that the major strength of this game is its story. Pay much attention to the cut-scenes, follow the dialogues, read the files and you will find the story intriguing. That being said, the plot is not perfect, in fact it has it own share of unforgivable plot-holes. In this thread, I present 7 of them.


1. The First Gate
This is the first puzzle of the game. Having been freed from your cell and making your way out, you get up on the wrong foot with Steve, another character. After the introduction, Steve exit directly through the same gate you must proceed through. Suddenly, the cut-scene is over, you push the gate but it is inexplicably locked! Yes, the same gate that Steve just opened before you. In essence, to proceed, you must go find or forge a key to unlock it.

2. Claire's Mail To Leon
Alright, I have thought over and over about this and I find it totally pointless. Why is Claire not mailing her brother directly? What is the need for Leon? Is Leon in direct contact with with Chris, if so why is Claire infiltrating the facility in search of him?

3. Steve's character
Going through a number of forums, I find that Steve is the most hated character from the entire Resident Evil franchise. The reason for this being the character 's portrayal. Steve's character is so overblown and cheesy that it is hard overlook. He is a 17 years old, capable of jumping through glass windows over 5 feet high whilst shooting a monster below with precision.

4. Handicapped Claire
This is supposedly one of the most intense moment of the game, but this intensity is diminished by an obvious plot-hole.

In this point of the game story-line, Steve and Claire had just collapsed through a balcony onto the ground below. Steve is fine but Claire 's foot is trapped under a concrete, so she cannot get to her feet. A zombie awakens and approaches her, she calls on Steve to shoot but Steve is to dazed to shoot. The zombie bends over Claire, on the verge of feasting on her, but Steve recovers and finishes him off. Why Claire is unable to shoot the zombie at that point is never explained in the game. Up till that point you never lost your gun as Claire, there was no indication even during or after the fall that you lost your gun. On the ground, her hands were free to equip a gun and there was enough time to arm and aim because the zombie initially was a few feet ahead. So why wait for Steve who is clearly lost?

5. Splitting up at the Antarctic
OK, this plot hole is not exclusive to this game. The earlier Resident Evil games suffered the same plot hole. Claire and Steve on crashing their plane in the Island decides to split and find a way out, fully aware that if this place belong to Umbrella, all kind of threat that necessitates sticking together are bound to exist. Claire in particular after her ordeal in Raccoon city should be the all against splitting up in cases like this. The writers could have come up with a better and more realistic cause for them to split. Which two sane persons would split or separate under the same circumstance?

6. Steve hanging on to a Ledge
Just before Claire's last boss fight on a rooftop, Steve is knocked over by the boss and hangs onto a ledge several feet above the ground. Claire takes down the boss and is able to pull Steve back onto the rooftop. Here is the loophole, by the time it took Claire to defeat the boss and rescue Steve, realistically Steve would have fallen to his death! Given that Steve hung on to the ledge by only one hand, he wouldn't be able to endure his own weight in the cold for so long.


7. Chris' resilience Vs Wesker's super-strength
The final showdown between the two and the game ending could have been written or presented better. Chris was thoroughly thrashed and only lucky to escape death. He took enough blows for a normal human to bleed or fracture, but not only does he look clean and free of any cut, without even staggering, he immediately runs down to the lift and jump several feet out of the exploding building with so much ease.

Great list! I disagree with 3 and 7 though. Those are not silly unless overdone. What would you do on finding out your love interest couldn't care less about you? You reduce contact with her or withdraw contact completely initially. Of course, you dont snub her. You may assist or help if she call on you but aside this you just have to move on completely. Nothing hurts more than unrequited love, I 've been there before. Trust me.

Impossible! After paying 10k? I mean, seriously, if you pass only a few hours sleep at night there, by dawn you leave and do not return till midnight then you didn't predispose him to much risk. Peace! I applaud your effort but there is a whole lot wrong with your novel.

See, publishing fiction on kindle is really different from publishing non-fiction. First, your novel is just 6000 words. This is enough to instantly deter buyers. On average, a kindle novel cannot be less than 70000-80000 words. Novellas or short stories pass for about 30000-40000 words. Seriously, no kindle reader will consider a fiction book of 6000 words worth a dime. Remember, you are selling in an American market, not a Nigerian market. This brings us to the second problem with your book: The setting of the story.

Why publish a novel set in Nigeria with mainly Nigerian characters on an American market? Imagine Nollywood releasing million copies of her movies in American market. You think they 'll get sales?

And thirdly, your pen name. Change it. Use an American or European pen name that Americans can relate with. Trust me, Americans are more hesitant and skeptical of the quality of a book written by Kayode than that written by George.

I cannot agree with you, if Wizkid were to be a woman having her third baby with a third baby daddy, you would shame Wizkid, or won't you? The "celebrity" is to blame. Condom is not 100% effective. Next, expect the worst. I don't have much experience in romance & relationship but even I can tell that regardless of how much you love her, it mean nothing if she doesn't love you. The fanatic Muslims or Islamists play two roles to perfection, deceit and victim. Late last year, Donald Trump declared a stop to Muslim immigration to US on his election. As predictable, Islamofascists have repeatedly exploited Trump 's words in their narratives for cultivating a feeling of victim hood and propaganda of Islamophobia among Muslims.
Alright, I get the out cry and critics against Trump 's declaration from the American public and populace. The case of the Islamists on the other hand, is a joke. The Islamists would claim that their religion rule against any form of discrimination or bias, treating all equal regardless of their differences.

Putting the Islamists claims to test, we look at Makkah of Saudi Arabia. Islamists ban all non-Muslims from Makkah. This state is out of bound to non-Muslims. A Muslim living in this state, is thrown out & leaves everything behind if he leaves Islam. On no ground, do Islamists permit non-Muslims entry to this city either to see a family or attend to a sick pal. Yet, these same Islamists tell us that their religion is egalitarian and would never condone laws or rules similar to Trump 's. We all know this is a total lie, people.

Hell, Trump is a lot better than the Islamists because he operates democratic government and his policies are open to change. A lot of American politicians even within his party condemn this policy. In the worst case, Trump secures this policy for his entire tenure, however, as soon as his tenure is completed, his policy will most likely be annulled by an new government as well.
Unlike Trump, the Islamists ban of non-Muslims from Makkah is set in stone, non negotiable. While Trump seek to ban only Muslim immigrants, Islamists ban non-Muslim immigrants, including visitors to the state and apostates who have been living in the state. Trump is humble enough to ascribe his policy to himself and this is why most Americans wont back him, whereas the Islamists ascribe theirs to God garnering them the support of the common Muslims who know nothing about Islam except salat or hijab.

People, beware of the Islamists. They are the cancer within the Muslim community, they are mostly peaceful and proclaim to be moderates, yet on thorough examination of their ideals and mindset, they are supremacists and militant kinds of Muslims, non-violent, yet radical. The Islamists who make 65% of the Muslim community, have no case against against Donald Trump.

By good guys, I don't mean insecure, whiny doormat or hypocritical, self professed nice dudes. I mean genuine good guys who work hard, uphold proper ethics and seek to appeal to reason.

I know, most readers will quickly rush to claim these kind of scarce men are already taken or will easily find someone but from my experience, this is untrue. Women claim to want confident men but mostly choose cocky men, they claim to want self assured men but invariably go with arrogant or egoistic ones, they claim to want assertive men but fall for self centered ones.

In short, the good guys aren't desired by women(particularly young women) because they are seen as boring and not tough or manly as the bad guys women choose. This is my opinion, please share yours. If you have an experience to bolster your opinion, leave it a comment below

Hey, OP. Reduce the number of blog posts you publish daily, weekly or monthly and respond to only important comments on your blog post. Consider outsourcing some of your work too. You sound like a Jack of all trade kind of blogger. Truth is, as your blog grow and earn significant traffic, researching new topics, reading and responding to comments, writing and editing manuscripts for blog posts become a tall order for one person.

People mistake working from home as freedom. This is not true. The only guaranteed gain in it is that you become self employed, period. Working from home don't necessarily mean more time for yourself as most people imagine.

And blogging, coming up with regular quality posts to generate and maintain significant traffic is strenuous. With all these, it takes a couple of years before the passive income start to flow.

OP, i believe @Babythug nailed it properly. As long as you sleep under their roof and feed from their pot, you just have to endure all that. I say this as a fella who has been there and is still there. Many a time, i have felt bitter and unwanted due to endless nagging, scolding and undermining by parents. We cannot overemphasize the damage that emotional abuse from parents can cause. Granted parents do sacrifice a lot for their kids, they are human and flawed. They could take it on you when things are not going their way and because they have given up so much for you, they feel you should be able to stomach all they throw at you. Good at least you are in final year of university, work hard and strive to be financially stable and independent and move out of their house quickly.
Believe me, once you get off their house and begin to fend for yourself, once you stop relying on your parents to pay your bills or fund you, you will be relieved.

Because Nairaland is full of immature adults or overgrown kids who take the forum as a play ground where they can afford to be silly without dealing with the consequences

Oh, thanks a lot. I read about that yesterday and was kind of excited about the application. However, my drawings aren't great. I 'll need to hone my drawing skills in other to get into this. This is going to take time, so i don't really see myself getting into comic work yet.

However the last time I researched, e.r.o.t.i.c.a seemed to be the most profitable niche on kindle and since I am "too holy" for that I decided to stick to my passion but this time I will conduct thorough keyword research. However, I recently discovered another niche that seems very profitable. I will try it out and report my experience soon.

Your books are in non-fiction category. In Kindle the top selling categories under non-fiction are Health fitness, Nutrition and Self-Help(How to) books. Fiction outsells non-fiction on Kindle by a landslide. You want to try fiction if you have a good and compelling story and you are willing to deal with the bulky writing it demands. Aside Er0tica; Romance, Fantasy, Thrillers and Mystery are top selling categories you can cash in on.

In the end, your primary concern should be developing an awesome product. It all boil down to your strength and effort

From the little experience i got on this, it takes way more than a good book to make it on Kindle. In addition to writing a well researched and detailed book, you need to polish your text to captivate readers. Be it fiction or non-fiction, the presentation and pacing of your writing could be a deal breaker.

Hi mk82 and guys! Discovered Amazon KDP since June and have been following this thread since August. I believe Amazon KDP is the easiest means of online income. I have considered other means like YouTube, Blog or Free Lance writing and opted to settle for Kindle Publishing. Currently, I haven't published any work but I am working on something; a fiction.

I see most posters here deal in non-fiction, anyone out here with experience in publishing fiction?
