That too, gave me a good laugh!!! You say they sit at the back to easily get off the bus?? what a joke!!! I don't know what kind@ bus u're talkin' about but
the buses here have two doors, one at the front across from the driver at the right and another in the middle(1/2 of the bus) also at the right corner.
Therefore, if u sit at the front, u can 'easily' get off the bus through the front door. And if u sit in the middle, u cld easily get off also through d 'rear door', which is actually
at the second-half of the bus. So, there's no excuse for them sittin' there. I believe it's an act of self-degradation because back in segregation times, only
white folks sat at the front of the bus while the back seats are meant for colored folks. Now,slavery is wayyyy over, so why the act?? Don't try to justify this act
because it is practiced only by ignorant teenagers and some of these old homeless people. It came to my mind when girl22 made her comment about white
people bein' a cause of black peoples' problem. I'm thinkin': how are they the cause of your problem when they ain't even enslavin' u anymore but rather, u're
enslavin' yourself.
@chiogo
Look at the picture of modern city bus in the USA---every 50 states in a metropolitan cities have one at below:

That what I talk about! Every city buses are different sizes, colors, as well as painting-print advertisement on the bus.

chiogo:

I got one question for y'all African-Americans(y'all would probably ignore it again):

Why do black folks like sittin' at the back of the bus?? I don't get it, Segregation days are over. Strong people like MLK and Rosa Parks helped stopped this but blacks keep degradin' and enslavin' themselves up till this day or sittin' at the back of the bus is now the coolest thin'??
do answer. . . .
@chiogo
Oh really, how long you been stayed in MA? Is this where you live in Boston MA as you stated all black folks sitting at the back of the city bus just like back old good at time of segregation days? You said they degraded and enslave themselves!

I had been visited to Boston MA few years ago---i do not see myself personally on the city public bus as well as train riding as you mentioned above quote.

That is flatly not true! What a laugh!  smiley  grin  cheesy  smiley

In every major cities in the USA, where public transportation provide, the reason why black folks enjoying to sit at the back of the bus is BECAUSE IT IS EASY ACCESSIBLE TO GET OFF THE BUS STOP at the rear exit door, not because of segregation days habits! angry

@girl22

Whoa! I read her previous postings, I suggest you, @girl22 to educate yourself understanding Africa culture especially Nigeria without judgment and without believe in western media including black publications such as Ebony, Jet, Essence, Black Enterprise, as well as black media such as BET, TVOne, etc.

Why don't you take your African History in your college elective course yourself?

Nigeria itself has 250 language with the majority: Yoruba, Hausa, and Igbo including English and 300 ethnic group/tribe. It also has 150 millions population in 35 states.

I myself am not a Nigerian, but US citizen-born.

girl22:
Why are gas prices and the price of goods higher in black communities?
@girl22, are you say that American increase gas and goods price higher in black communities while decrease or remain the same on gas/goods in white communities in the USA? Is that right? If it is not right, then please explain why you say that bold  question quoted at above?

I disagree with you.

A little surprised that she can afford

Always be cautious about women who

TravelRe: Ba Baggage Allowance by uspry1(f): 6:20pm On Mar 29, 2008
If you have a carrying bag or baggage that exceeds these allowances, you will pay for extra charge.

In 2007 on the long-line waiting I saw a large signage at the Washington DC airport in the front of Ticket/Baggage Check In as follow below:

Pound           Charge

under 50        FREE

51-75             $50 USD

76-100            $75 USD

101-over         $100 USD

So be prepare for different State to state traveling abroad's excess baggage fees!!!

I flew from Washington DC to Maimi Florida with 5 deaf group for our deaf cruise departure on October 25, 2007 to November 4, 2007 for West Carribean 7-days trip. We were on long line getting ELECTRONIC TICKET CHECK-IN in order to input our ticket confirmination number to be picked up 5 plane tickets automatically next to Baggage Check-in for our baggages weigh.

(we already purchased online plane ticket reservation 3 months in advance before our deaf cruise departure due)

Nice 5 minutes quick accessing to the ELECTRONIC TICKET CHECK-IN (similar to ATM machine, but it is just plane ticket printout, not cash withdrawal) to pick up our 5 plane tickets near next line Baggage Check-in. It was our first time use Electronic ticket check-in, we do not want talking to the cashier in person because we are deaf. That's it! It took us 5 deaf group 10 minutes walking away to the airline gate FREELY.

Poor travellers stand long long long lines in person TICKET CHECK-IN more than 30 minutes waiting!!!

In my opinion of how long should a courtship be as follow below:

Age Group    Length Courtship        Reason for length

18-25           4 years                        Gone 4 years college/get job to set financial stability.

26-30            2 years                       start maturity/responsible/independent---quit childish acts; complete
                                                        Master/PhD degrees; quit career workalochic---need some love.

30-up            3 months-2 years         divorced, widowed, broke up first/2nd love, grown children move out,
                                                        lonely, insecure.

My ex-husband grabbed dating me as soon as my long time school sweetheart ex-fiancee dumped me for younger virgin girl so quickly. Ex-husband at that time we were bf/gf said that i was PERFECT WIFE PACKAGE he always want! He was junior secondary school student while i was in college sophomore. Ex-fiancee was senior secondary school student in order to get married right after his graduation that summer. angry

My ex-fiancee and I cancelled our wedding date. Both parent (ex-fiancee and mine) were devastated. angry

After 4 years dating (ex-husband) until my college graduation, our marriage doomed---not my fault! My parent forced me into. He was not right one for me,  while i had crushed on someone else (my 10 years male best friend) i felt just right HUSBAND PACKAGE. Now he (best friend) disappears hidden from everyone at his own deep s**t embarrassment---THANK GOD that he was not right one for me neither.

20 years later, my former ex-fiancee saw many pictures of 10 and 20 years high school class reunion---he did not go, he felt guilty seeing how beautiful I turn into from unattractive skinny one. Just exactly you see on Tyler Perry's movie "Why did I get Married". His life really messed!!!! Very sad!!!

Both ex-husband, best friend and ex-fiancee are DEAF!!!

Most Nairaland members here ALWAYS KEEP FORGET that USA time zone is completely different than Nigeria time zone.  In the morning in the USA, here in Nigeria is in the afternoon/evening 5-6 hours apart based on USA day-time saving and in the evening in the USA, here in Nigeria is their bedtime zzzzZZZZzzzzZZZZzzzzzZZZ.

That is big advantage for all of USA Nairaland members easily accessing in the evening while Nigerians sleep!!!!

FamilyRe: Who Is Your Next Of Kin? by uspry1(f): 8:22am On Mar 29, 2008
Depend on the situation where you fill out the applications to write down who is your next kin as follow below:

1. on job applications, i put down my sister as my next kin.

2. on hospital admission on pre-surgery, i put down my mom as my next kin.

3. on life insurance upon my death, i put down my children to split 50-50 percent as two beneficatory.

4. on bank account opening, i put down my older child as beneifactory.

5. on college admission, i put down my mom as next kin.

The purpose of finding out who your next kin is for authorized person such as hospital, police, human resource, etc to be notified by phone or in person in case of emergency or death or accident.

Lol! I understand how you feel being skinny all your life. I was in your shoe being skinny no matter how much i eat junk food, fruits, and vegetable too much, it does not make me gaining weight. People at school made fun of me calling bad names, "Olivia, cartooned Popeye's girlfriend", "skinny like a pencil", "bacon", "no meat", etc.

I had flat chest and flat butt---unattractive. I don't have pimples or acne---clean face everyone say that i have baby face. I used to be size 3 from middle school all the way to college life, I felt myself so miserable and isolated---no one want dating me, only ugly guys dated me. After i was forced getting married to stay out of wedlock pregnancy after my college graduation!

PRESTO! I gained weight! Large bust and firm big butt proportioned(use secret boob exercise since high school---no drug, no surgery, and no cream). Now I wear size 10 or 12 clothes watching out what I eat healthy food. Just like a children's nursery book I remembered the story, "The Uglying Duck" where it turned into beautiful swan. That's how I felt now!!!

@poster, get pregnant yourself is the only way you will get gaining weight.

I think i have an idea who one of them is cheesy. You must be very brave to talk to complete strangers. But sometimes we meet friends in unlikely places ie Nairaland, wink
@Imani
It is not about complete strangers whom I admire the most that I must approach talking to them. I hate long distance relationship, workaholics, and dating rejection. I also fully understand what Nigerian men in the US seek for in which I don't think that I am suitable for them- - -few flaws that is not acceptable to both American men and Nigerian/African men, based on their preferences to choose the right wife! That is sadly!

It is not talking about insecure, trust, or getting attention or desperation. It prompts me stopping desire to have a hearing husband/entrepreneur-partner so long despite of my hidden physical disability.

Our NL friends via YIM STOPPED CHATTING for last 2 years that prompts me remove my NL profile and clean up inactive YIM lists---I hate long long lists. (Due to school season, job hiring and getting married, not have a time to say to me, "HI, WHERE YOU HAVE BEEN?".)

Maybe I am wrong! Maybe I read too much NL postings (American Women/Nigerian men in relationship) no matter if story is true or not. Also too many "what ifs" questions!
