Average cars use Lead Acid 12 Volt batteries. The battery turns the kick starter (a small electric motor) to start the engine and then does nothing.
The alternator provides the rest of the electrical power for any electronics in the car and the sparkplugs.
The petrol engine does all the work.

Any Electric vehicle, having no petrol engine, have just the battery and a big electric motor.
Lead Acid battery will be too big and too heavy. So they use same type that is used in your phone, Lithiuim-ion.
Lithium ion is lighter and smaller and can discharge to the electric motor longer.

But it is extremely expensive.
And you still have to charge it IN YOUR HOUSE, with NEPA and Generator, for 8 hours, because there is no electric charging filling stations in this country.

You didn't make the car, you didn't make the battery, you didn't make the charging station.
You just imported another expensive gadget into the country.

So what have you gained?

I lived there for 4 years and there was 24/7/365 electricity. In fact the residents don't even know that there's such a thing as "No Nepa".

The solution of Nigeria's problem is when we start beating local government chairmen.
That's the only arm of government that deals directly with the people.
Currently we don't disturb them for anything and they just relax and chop money.

Your scientific findings can be used as government policy to build and develop. The y have many standards organisations.
The British have superiority complex. They always like feeling bigger than other nations, that's why use science and tech to develop their nation.

You are asking a very big request.
These things cannot happen fast. These things are all part of culture now. In the olden days, they weren't prevalent because the majority of Nigerians were uneducated and lived in villages, managing their farms and business.
Today, majority are educated, left the villages, live in cities and the infrastructure is not sufficient to support the massive population. Hence people turn to all kinds of stealing and corruption to achieve their goals.
How do you suppose we end that?
Push educated people away from the cities back into villages so that the city can be less congested?
How will the educated people survive in the villages with no light and no drinking water?
Well, my own proposal,
1. everybody learn how to dig well with hand, or shovel
2. learn now to make a mechanical water pump,
3. learn some basic plumbing
4. Carry yourself to a village and use them, then continue to build and fabricate other elements for development
... because it will take forever for government to ever setup infrastructure for anybody.
