A cousin of mine was a medical doctor in Nigeria.
He went to Canada. Those guys told him to learn again, their Canadian medicine and diseases.
He later went to UK. UK told him to learn UK medicine again!
This is somebody that was collect proper salary in Nigeria.

The major one is the soil. The soil here is clay and it mixes as a suspension in the water..
In Lagos, we have a lagoon. It has brackish water, ie, salty water mixed with mud that isn't a sea or a river. Sometimes it's black, others yellow.

I went to Ikogisi warm springs as a kid. The water is indeed super clear. But not blue water as in movies..

It's the type of soil. Clay soil dissolves easily with water and colours it.
The American soils will not be clay. So it don't dissolve in the water and the water can stay clear/blue.
It's all about the nature of soil.
I lived in UK some while back and really chook my eyes at their soil. It was muddy and pasty. That's why they just use pavement to keep everywhere nice and clean. But their canals, rivers and sea was not Blue..
I went to 2 beaches in northern part called Whitby and Scarborough. The sand was sharp sand. The water was ice cold even in summer. But it wasn't blue like movies water.
A typical African will not like to swim in their water. It's never warm enough.

The soil in this region is different. The soil colours the flowing river. So our river is brownish.
As the soil is different here, our plants are different too. Soil is different in every part of the world.
Mangoes cannot grow in UK naturally and their apples cannot grow here naturally too.
