1. Tattoos - They do not make you stand out as an individual. 2. Outlandish and garish contact lenses - Stick to your natural colour. 3. Loud weaves - blue, green, yellow? Seriously? 4. Extra long painted nails. 5. Fake extra long eyelashes. |
This is serious. I hope they rescind the decision. Why the onslaught on foreign students when they are the ones performing very well academically and financially propping up the universities? Can't wait to see the back of this ConDem govt. |
Lots of testosterone ! Some posts on here really provide comic relief. The Joker was right!! Seated and enjoying the verbal fisticuffs and festivities. Hang on whilst I get my popcorn. |
maclatunji: Awwwww. Someone's ego has been bruised. Sorry ehn! You do get my point? You seem stuck in literary appreciation mode. I am looking at the media which movies are a part of as agents of socialization.Dude, you're one of the reasons we have the parental advisory stickers and disclaimers on films and music. Movies are agents of socialisation? That's hilarious! In real life, the agents of socialisation will be parents/family, peers, church and so on. You amuse me and I will let you bask in your new found intellectual superiority. I am mature enough to differentiate fact from fiction. In the meantime, go baff on top transformer. |
maclatunji: In your attempt to satisfy your urge to prove your "intellectual superiority", you have missed the point. When I first read the headline of the shootings, I thought to myself: "this is the kind of thing the Joker would do."Before making sweeping generalisations and judgement about my post perhaps I need to remind you that the Dark Knight trilogy is a work of fiction loosely based on the graphic novels. It is available for literary analysis or critique. So you read the newspaper headlines and attributed the massacre to a fictional character from a fictional movie? Seriously? assumptions or myths are not facts. The joker is an antithesis, I love the character. He is there to spurr the hero into becoming truly heroic. P.S I found your tone condescending and I have chosen to ignore this. Next time try to sway my opinion with a well choreographed and polite post. |
Saw Dark Knight Rises and it is a brilliant conclusion to the trilogy. Christopher Nolan is a legend. The joker was Batman's arch nemesis and he was able to show how lacking Batman was as Gotham's hero. He describes himself as an agent of chaos and shows the audience how human beings no matter how noble can turn against other humans just to survive. Ironically, he played his "jokes" and watches people with plans fall all over themselves. He is able to take Gotham's finest and turn him into a villlian - Harvey Dent aka Two Face hence weakening the fight against crime in Gotham. Perhaps people need to understand the plot, the characters and the underlying messages of the Dark Knight trilogy before dismissing the "Joker" as satanic. Heath Legders performance as the Joker was brilliant and he outshone Jack Nicholson's camp and cheesy performance The Denver incident shooter was a psychopath plan and simple, blaming it on a film or a fictional character is laughable and bordering on the ridiculous. " You either die a hero or live long enough to see yourself become the villain " Harvey Dent - Dark Knight |
Nice one. Best of luck to you, sir. I am seriously digging the website. |
It's called an oath of affirmation. |
I know people who graduated 3rd class but now have very successful careers. One of the chaps was quite lucky to earn an internship with Sony Ericcson in Sweden after graduation in 2002.. He applied with a telecoms company in Nigeria whilst we were overseas and he told us he was heading back home for this job offer. He is presently doing quite well in the company without revealing names and he graduated with a 3rd class?. We place too much emphasis on degrees or educational qualifications. |
Apparently this new OS will not work on old BB phones or models. Nigerians will have to fork out for newer Blackberry models |
Dude, you are not alone. It just incenses me watching Nigerians killing themselves over a bunch of highly overpaid primadonnas. I'd rather watch two men beat themselves senseless in a boxing match or martial arts contest. These football clubs do not give a flying feck about us in Africa and racism is still ingrained . Meanwhile in Nigeria our local football leagues have flatlined and no one is looking at reviving the league. Premier League fanatics need to look at the bigger picture. We ignore this at our own peril. I have nothing against anyone who watches it though the fanatism pisses me off. |
[flash=480,390] https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fN-xq7t6pKw&feature=related[/flash] I love this video. It's hilarious and it is not to be taken literally. This video will must likely not see the light of day on MTV or any other mainstream radio or Tv stations. Directed by Tyler the Creator. |

The UK is now officially the worst place to live in Europe, with people getting a "raw deal" on quality of life and high cost of living, a new study has revealed. Comparison website uSwitch said that things were getting so bad that one in 10 people in this country were considering emigrating. France and Spain came out on top of uSwitch's Quality of Life Index, with the UK bottom of a 10-country league table. The index covers working hours, VAT, holidays, spending on health and education - and hours of sunshine. The UK also came bottom of another table based on the cost of energy, petrol, food, alcohol, cigarettes and life expectancy. Food and diesel prices are the highest in Europe, while unleaded petrol, alcohol and cigarettes all cost more than the European average, said the report. People in the UK now have the lowest holiday entitlement in Europe as well as having one of the highest retirement ages, the study found. A survey of over 2,000 adults found their biggest concern was "broken society", as well as the cost of living, crime and violence. Some 5% said they were happy with the UK, with over one in 10 "seriously considering" emigrating. France topped the index for the third year in a row, despite the average household annual net income being £7,000 below that of the UK. Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at uSwitch.com, said: "Last year at least our neighbours in Ireland were worse off, now we can't even console ourselves with that. "We are now officially at the bottom of the pile. http://uk.news.yahoo.com/uk-worst-place-live-europe-052104490.html |
Correct me if i am wrong but The Roots had an album called Things Fall Apart released on 23rd February 1999 which is considered a hiphop classsic and won a Grammy i believe in 2000. And they admit borrowing the title from Chinua Achebe's work? |
Brilliant article @ Kay29000. I am tired of people spewing garbage about every successful artiste being Illuminati and black people are the ones who are going to suffer from this smear campaign. |
Someone once said " A pig with lipstick is still a pig" This dude will never change. He threw a very childish tantrum after being given a negative feedback by a caller live on air in the UK a few years ago. The criticism was quite positive but Kenny came out looking like a very old fool talking about he is not washing dishes like the caller in the UK and how much money he is making. He had to be calmed down by D-One who responded to the feedback in an assertive manner and tried to reduce the PR damage. |
Loving this track . |
Some chaps at work have been saying "The Samsung Galaxy S is the poor man's Iphone " Cracks us up all the time. |
Oyibo dey play with fire. Looting is theft - a criminal offence. They had better return the Benin Mask or else dem go find out say the curse of Tutankhamun is nothing compared to Juju ![]() |
Here we go again, if you look for hidden meanings in everything, you'll surely find them, |
I have to agree : Call of Duty Black Ops graphics sucks. The gameplay is slow and the killstreaks are a tad childish and funny, Hunting dogs?? Don't mention spawning issues and host or initial game joining issues. People moaned about campers on MW2, hell!! It's worse on Black Ops!! Don't get me started about some of the weapons. Sorry but i think Infinity Ward won in the end. |

Let's clear one thing up; there is a big difference between HipPop and HipHop. J.Cole is an MC, the kid is lyrically gifted. He reminds me of MCs in the 90s who did not depend on gimmicks - gyrating women, rims, blings etc to sell records, this cat even raps in only a white t-shirt in Grown Simba directed by BB Gun. J.Cole's album is one of the most highly anticipated albums. He is one of the young artists trying to bring HipHop back to the golden era, another cat i rate highly is Jay Electronica. As for Drake, sorry, he may have record sales but he's a pop tart - no offense. Now back to topic: I don't think J.Cole was taking any shots at Drake in particular, it's a sort of wake up call to wack rappers and these days there are loads of them : Gucci Mane, Soulja Boi, Wacka Flocka, Plies. Get to the Choppa!!!!!!! |
@ Hax, i have just been trhough the link you posted and i am blown away literally, even Billboard had pleasant things to say about the album. I have also had a preview of the album on Itunes US and it is phenomenal. , Thank you, jare. |
Janelle Monae cannot be compared to all the manufactured pop tarts you just mentioned. The lady has real talent and i for one will support a black artiste who is constantly striving to improve their craft. And pray tell me who your musical genius is? or how many Janelle Monae albums you bought or listened to? If all you do is listen to Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga perhaps you need to broaden your musical tastes before making generalisations. |
Praying fervently will not save this team unless they do their bit. "Life begins when the church ends" |
