Dude, you are not alone. It just incenses me watching Nigerians killing themselves over a bunch of highly overpaid primadonnas. I'd rather watch two men beat themselves senseless in a boxing match or martial arts contest. These football clubs do not give a flying feck about us in Africa and racism is still ingrained . Meanwhile in Nigeria our local football leagues have flatlined and no one is looking at reviving the league. Premier League fanatics need to look at the bigger picture. We ignore this at our own peril. I have nothing against anyone who watches it though the fanatism pisses me off.

The UK is now officially the worst place to live in Europe, with people getting a "raw deal" on quality of life and high cost of living, a new study has revealed.

Comparison website uSwitch said that things were getting so bad that one in 10 people in this country were considering emigrating.

France and Spain came out on top of uSwitch's Quality of Life Index, with the UK bottom of a 10-country league table.

The index covers working hours, VAT, holidays, spending on health and education - and hours of sunshine.


The UK also came bottom of another table based on the cost of energy, petrol, food, alcohol, cigarettes and life expectancy.

Food and diesel prices are the highest in Europe, while unleaded petrol, alcohol and cigarettes all cost more than the European average, said the report.

People in the UK now have the lowest holiday entitlement in Europe as well as having one of the highest retirement ages, the study found.

A survey of over 2,000 adults found their biggest concern was "broken society", as well as the cost of living, crime and violence.


Some 5% said they were happy with the UK, with over one in 10 "seriously considering" emigrating.

France topped the index for the third year in a row, despite the average household annual net income being £7,000 below that of the UK.

Ann Robinson, director of consumer policy at uSwitch.com, said: "Last year at least our neighbours in Ireland were worse off, now we can't even console ourselves with that.

"We are now officially at the bottom of the pile.

Correct me if i am wrong but The Roots had an album called Things Fall Apart released on 23rd February 1999 which is considered a hiphop classsic and won a Grammy i believe in 2000. And they admit borrowing the title from Chinua Achebe's work?

He threw a very childish tantrum after being given a negative feedback by a caller live on air in the UK a few years ago. The criticism was quite positive but Kenny came out looking like a very old fool talking about he is not washing dishes like the caller in the UK and how much money he is making. He had to be calmed down by D-One who responded to the feedback in an assertive manner and tried to reduce the PR damage.

I have to agree : Call of Duty Black Ops graphics sucks. The gameplay is slow and the killstreaks are a tad childish and funny, Hunting dogs?? Don't mention spawning issues and host or initial game joining issues. People moaned about campers on MW2, hell!! It's worse on Black Ops!! Don't get me started about some of the weapons. Sorry but i think Infinity Ward won in the end.

Let's clear one thing up; there is a big difference between HipPop and HipHop. J.Cole is an MC, the kid is lyrically gifted. He reminds me of MCs in the 90s who did not depend on gimmicks - gyrating women, rims, blings etc to sell records, this cat even raps in only a white t-shirt in Grown Simba directed by BB Gun. J.Cole's album is one of the most highly anticipated albums. He is one of the young artists trying to bring HipHop back to the golden era, another cat i rate highly is Jay Electronica.
As for Drake, sorry, he may have record sales but he's a pop tart - no offense.

Now back to topic: I don't think J.Cole was taking any shots at Drake in particular, it's a sort of wake up call to wack rappers and these days there are loads of them : Gucci Mane, Soulja Boi, Wacka Flocka, Plies.

Janelle Monae cannot be compared to all the manufactured pop tarts you just mentioned. The lady has real talent and i for one will support a black artiste who is constantly striving to improve their craft.
And pray tell me who your musical genius is? or how many Janelle Monae albums you bought or listened to? If all you do is listen to Miley Cyrus, Britney Spears and Lady Gaga perhaps you need to broaden your musical tastes before making generalisations.

I have been a fan of Janelle Monae since The Metropolis album. Some have described this charismatic, eccentric and energetic black lady as the biggest signing on Bad Boy Records since Notorious B.I.G.
It makes me laugh with all the fuss and hype surrounding Lady Gaga, Janelle Monae has more talent and her new album The Archandroid proves it yet again.

Janelle Monáe’s full-length debut arrives with the weight of contemporary Black Artistry on its shoulders. She’s been praised by major artist, she’s on Bad Boy, and has an inclination towards the odd and eccentric, or so we’re made to believe. The ArchAndroid follows last year Metropolis EP, which introduced listeners to Cindi Mayweather, a robot running from a fascist state in the future, and searching for her humanity. From the print other taste-makers have already put to page, The ArchAndroid will be making heavy appearances on best of 2010 lists. Most of the writing has Janelle being the next best thing since the last savior of music; whoever you can recall that being. Yet, what the album delivers is just plain good music.

The ArchAndroid unconsciously forgoes much of the high-minded concept that really just distracted from her talent and music on Metropolis and gets shit crackin’. After the mostly “rapped” electro-tribal “Dance or Die”, featuring Saul Williams doing his typical life, light, and art shtick, the album transitions wonderfully into “Faster”. A soaring composition so full of confidence and contemporary funk, one must truly have a dead soul to not want to shake their ass to such a danceable groove and Janelle’s lush vocal cadences. The momentum is effortlessly moved into “Locked Inside”, a song that mightily channels the King of Pop’s Off The Wall spirit and will bewilder me if it’s not released as a single and booms out of speakers in all places American. This funktafied-disco spirit is also found in the first single “Tightrope”, which is the epitome of an honest modern swagger and cool.

Yet, The ArchAndroid flourishes most brightly when things are slowed down and the experimental impulses are restrained and used effectively. “Oh, Maker” elucidates such an exotic and unique musical language it traps listeners within its “newness.” Vacillating between a psychedelic British folk and the best of Neo-Soul, the ballad dumps buckets of thick emotional paint into ones ears. This shimmering sonic eros continues with “Neon Valley Street”, a voluptuous horn-laden voyage that Monáe half sings-half raps into unforgettable territory. This exceptional sound is also found on “Say You’ll Go”, “Sir Greendown”, and the epic “BoBopByeYa”.

Ultimately my biggest gripe with The ArchAndroid is that someone just threw too much shit into this gumbo. Parts R&B, parts funk and disco, parts glam rock, parts electro-pop, parts punk-pop, and parts rap, this long player just comes off like Monae trying too many hats at once. “Make The Bus” featuring Indy faves Of Montreal is a bad attempt to grab that audience; “Cold War” comes off like a Gnarls Barkley rip-off; and “Mushrooms and Roses” takes pysch rock down an over-filtered, boringly sparse escapade into nothingness. The ArchAndroid shows where Janelle sounds best and most comfortable right now in her career. There was no need to run through all of her influences on one record. Some quality control really would have made this what some are calling “a game changer”. In the end, the young woman blessed with a voice as soothing and strong as coastal winds is all that is needed with as funky backing beat. She doesn’t need to “change the game” or “save music” from shit. All she needs to do is to continue to grow and make music that is true to her. The magic and audience will follow.
