adedayourt:Apt and best comment on this thread. Don’t know where folks on this thread finds Compliance officers work JDs as Auditors. What is he/she auditing? Compliance officers don’t hire or fire/ that’s the job of the HR/Management/Board - depending on the level of the staff in question. Most compliance level job JDs are regulatory- so they are mostly lawyers. |
This guy ought be arrested and prosecuted big time. |
terryflexy:Do you have a first degree or a school certificate? |
chronique:The powers of the AGF has no limit, as far as criminal prosecution is concerned in Nigeria: EXCEPT FOR IN COURT MARTIAL. And he couldn’t have taken over this case unless with the approval of the president. You both should get your reasoning together. The only thing you are right about is that this is damage control from the President. |
Officialgarri:Take some time to read section 174 of the Constitution. Don’t be lazy. |
themonk:It’s only in Africa we take things like donation like seeking for money in a bad way. All these evangelism units outside of Africa - actually runs majorly on Donations from people. And people happily do this, because they believe they are contributing to the spread of Gods Word - and not enriching the pockets of some pastors. Rather than spend a fortune on buying flowers for the dead man - you can honour him by Contributing to his life work. I think it’s reasonable in the circumstance - because whether they make the comment or not - people will spend a fortun buying flowers for the deceased MoG. |
1shortblackboy:It is everywhere in the world. |
manuelfolarin:Ti Oluwa Nile was really scary those days. Especially the beginning. Arguably one of the best movies ever made in Nigeria. That film is a classic ! |
midnighter:Cheers |
drey076:What is the jail time? |
NwaAmaikpe:Yes, YOU ARE NOW BEING CORRECTED. Timaya is no longer a BANANA seller. Many children Outlive their parents fortunes. |
bayelsaowei:Abuja is very different. This may happen in lagos and no FRSC official will care. but things work in Abuja - to a very large extent. . |
safarigirl:Smiles - I am sorry if I appeared harsh. I understand why you think they are socialist or communist. Especially with the control of the media and all. But the problem is that socialism and communism are quite extreme. If we were to present a moot point on this, you will hardly have practical examples to give. See e.g. “Socialism is a range of economic and social systems characterised by social ownership of the means of production and workers' self-management as well as the political theories and movements associated with them.” There is no strong ownership of anything or advocating of such by the APC government. What Buhari has done and seeks to achieve is to restrict people’s rights on speech - and that’s hardly socialism - because there is no ECONOMIC gain to it. Socialism is as much an economic theory as it is a political theory. On the other hand, “Welfare state refers to a type of governing in which the national government plays a key role in the protection and promotion of the economic and social well-being of its citizens”. That’s why they tend to want to carry everybody along with their policies (generally now, not just Buhari) - but they fail at it, because at the end, they still do that for their selfish reasons. |
CSTR2:Why are they not close to being welfarist? Although I imagine that was the point I made which you obviously missed. Yes, I agree with you - PDP may be capitalist and I am wondering why you obviously don’t see how they have failed on that as well. |
safarigirl:Well may be. Like you said, it’s not apparent to me. |
Angelfrost:Did you read and understand my comment? And if, for the sake of argument, I concede that APC is no different from PDP because they are a breakaway from PDP. It is logically flawed to suppose that they are that way because they came off PDP. Many Pentecostal churches are breakaway factions of orthodox churches, but this doesn’t make them orthodox, by any fraction. Given that, I would denigrate PDP more than I do APC, always, because Yaradua was the only good thing that came off them - apart from the present Seyi Makinde - as far as I am concerned. They lack consistency - in the way that APC has managed in governance and ideology in the last 16 years. |

safarigirl:I am not sure you know what communism mean. The fact that the president is dictatorial doesn’t make them dictators. To determine the ideology of a party - you look at what the party as a whole stands for; aggregate of their politicians; an aggregate of the governors, members of the National Assembly etc. “communism is an ideology of economic equality through the elimination of private property.” It means state control of the economic apparatus. No private ownership or free capitalism. Please comment on things you have knowledge of. |
APC is welfarist - at least, they profess to be. But it’s hardly defensible - because they fail at it. PDP doesn’t have an ideology. They are not even a good opposition too. |
We need a sexual offenders list ASAP. Guys like this should be marked on the list, even if the case is not successfully prosecuted. But then ladies need to stop sleeping in men who are not their husband or bf’s houses, if you don’t want unwanted advancement - no matter the obstacle. Every guy has a tolerance level. |
Amarabae:I don’t really get the context you are speaking from. But if what you mean is that it’s no longer for a select few - yes, you are right. Almost everyone now can study law, pass the law school, and proceed to practice to now. But if what you mean is respect and prestige - I think you are wrong. Anywhere in the world - Law is still as renowned as it used to be. Check the make up of the ministers in Nigeria. The numbers of the House of Rep and Governors that have governed - etc. There are quite a number of Lawyerd among them. VP - Lawyer Speaker, House of Rep - Lawyer Deputy Senate President - Lawyer. Not to talk of the members. I think what we have now is that a whole lot of people are now lawyers, unlike before. |
Ephesians 4:5-6 King James Version (KJV) 5 One Lord, one faith, one baptism, 6 One God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all. Both are the same and they refer to the same one Person - GOD. That is the basic foundation of Christianity - the Doctrine of the Trinity. Whether you call him God the father, the son and the Holy Spirit - or you call Him Lord - he is still the same one person. That’s the Christian Doctrine. Whether this defies logic is another thing. The mysteries of the kingdom cannot be subject to human rationality. That’s why it’s called FAITH. It lacks logic. |
ernieboy:You are right by half! If you have followed the case, Nigeria defaulted on the contract. The question of breach and damages are no longer in contest. What is in contest is the validity of the contract. If, for example, as the FG seems to argue, a contract was vitiated by Fraud - then it is void ab initio. So technically, it means there was never a contract in the first place and the breach will be inconsequential. |
Chomsky1967:Lol. That’s a nice one. I did Philosophy of language in my first degree. Chomsky is everything to that module. All the best, linguist! |
Kuginzi:Why do you care? |
MrBrownJay1:That is obviously a Photoshoot Studio. Like you said, it’s a sheet on the background that suggests a picture taken in front of a library. |
They are detaining Yele Sowore because they know the moment he is released, BABA will continue the social media bruhaha. If Na military days, dem for don comot the guy like Dele Giwa. My heart goes to Yele’s family right now. |
bigfrancis21:You obviously did not understand the message passed across. Statute of Limitations on the offences of Defilement ALONE, was deleted. So if you defile a person 100 years ago, you can still be tried for it today. Simple. I don’t understand why anyone would have a problem with that. |
Madibah:Eyin Omo Ope . |
riches5k:Toorh. Because I already booked the Dana Air for tomorrow ooo. I commit my parents to the hands of God. ![]() |
A part of being a good business man is ensuring you remain Consistent and diversifying. It’s more than just music now. It’s about managing and nurturing talents, and making money while at it! This is a great feat, and to think that it was built like a Startup IT firm - makes it more endearing. Btw: the interior designers did a fantastic work! |
Mexzy4sho:That is why properties and businesses should be insured. Government can’t do everything! |
