Having this in mind. Is the religious theory of the world coming to an end very very soon still valid?

Since Mars is/should just be the beginning. Other planets to go...other galaxies too.

Hardly wil watch an american movie frm beginin to end witout a flash of their flag. Not only the US joka. Most developed nations too. They just happen to have a massive influence on the media. Which sure does help with the "USA" propaganda/patriotism/envy/pride.

Russians have been sending satellites to space way before anybody. You need that to aid moon landing don't you.

The whole "race to the moon" was a clever attempt by d guys in US to start a very nice "brain drain" from the other side.

Nebeuwa: Landing on the moon is one of the greatest accomplishments that humans have achieved.

The fact that we were able to land on an object that is separated from our planet by thousands of miles of empty space is astonishing. I do not see that as a waste of resources, because there will come a time that humanity must leave our nest (Earth).

Going to space in the first place is amazing. Thank Russia for that.

On a more serious note, I have never come across a carribean or AA who ran away because I was African. In london, you are more likely to meet Carribeans than AAs. Carribeans-come across them every single day, got them following me like flies. They are not really bothered about you being African, as long as you fit their bill they don't care.

AAs, I won't say I come across them often but the ones I have met were quite nice and didn't not seem to be bothered by me being African either.

The Govt. of the day must be held accountable for its citizenry, provide the most basic things. The Govt. must rather take from the rich and give to the poor and not the other way round as it's in this case and in our society generally. Change must come at some point!

You speak sense. But we both agree that place should not be there to begin with.

Those who started building shelters there were wrong, the government that didn't prevent it from the get go is wrong. And since the government is meant to put pple first; some sort of compensation should be given. A way to say, "I'm sorry I allowed this to happen to begin with".

2bh, I like Lagos to lead the way with these things; Democratic examples. Problem is, it most likely won't be emulated else where. A scenario like, "An eastern governor further improving the lives of his "brothers", taking it as a priority, at the detriment of others . Instead of improving the lives of the people", is what I'm sure pple are worried would happen.

Not saying such doesn't happen already. But, the scenario above would wear the "tribalism" mask easily.

Reading the title of this thread, the main article, comments on this thread and a post I just read on another thread (on a south african, speaking ill of Nigerians in general and "single-ing" out igbos). Onee would deffo be kinda embarrassed to be igbo.

You compare Lagos to Kano and Jos, meanwhile I don't see JTF in Lagos. If you want Lagos to be compared to retrogressive states like Borno, start ethnic or religiously motivated strife and killings and let's have JTF patroling about the town and shooting like demented devils, then you can proudly stick out your tongue and vomit bigotry against the Igboman and by extension none indigenes.

But if Lagos must continue to be a shinning light, it's residents cannot afford to pick and choose when to be tolerant and when not to be. The significant ethnic mix in Lagos will always have a say in the governance of this very cosmopolitan state, and people like you will have to live with it. People (including none indigenes) will aspire for the highest possible office whichever state the find themselves provided the constitution allows it. If Yoruba or Hausa man believe they have the number and leverage to exert political pressure in any SE or SS state, let them do so. Picking on the ambition of the Igboman due to fear, jealousy or other primordial sentiment does nothing to help your case. It's one freaking Nigeria our forebear fought for, we should live it, or end it completely!

Now, fair enough Lagos or 2bh, most south western states, is or are the most democratic in Nigeria (from my own personal study anyway). What u reckon should be done, if an easterner does get a political post he's asking for, yet only seems to help his fellow easterner, not any Nigerian. Would you see this as an ok-thing to do?
