All the Modern Greats have graced the Spanish league at one stage or the other. Zidane,Rivaldo,Figo,Ronaldo,Henry,Ruud Van Bisteroy,Raul,Ronaldinho and so on.Which is why ROnaldo will enventually move to Spain and Messi will never go to the Premier League. I think Dennis Bergkamp and Cantona are the  very few modern greats that did not play in the spanish league
