KnowAll:I think you are being unreasonable here. we all know that it's the duty of any government worth its salt to rescue its own from troubled zones, the fact that the government had done so deserves some applause, not condemnation. The same way you will be forever grateful to your parents for providing you with the best they could afford even though it's their responsibility to do so. It's easy to condemn, it takes a lot of wisdom to praise tangible efforts. Thousands of people are dying in Libya as we speak, hundreds of Nigerians have been rescued, if this doesn't count as good news in your books, I am sure as hell the families of those rescued see it as one! |
jay bee:Well i should have indicated that it also depends on the dude's taste and style in houses, but i could swear on my kebab i saw houses going for 50 million in Apata! |
The House at Adeyemi Lawason going for 260 million? |
Scratch my earlier post! did i say you'd be getting a typical Bungalow with walls? i must be hallucinating! Even in Apata, you are unlikely to get a typical Bunagalow with walls for 20 million, i remember driving through Apata and Oke Ado some years back, and i saw houses going up for sale for up to 50 million, now consider Bodija which is like the Banana Island of Ibadan! |
buzugee:Houses in Bodija are a bit pricey, for 20 million, you'd wouldn't be expecting anything lush!. . .most likely just a typical Bungalow with walls of course! A plot of land in Bodija sells for around 7 to 10 million |
We have no country anymore, our shame travels faster ahead of us, our identities soiled by our leaders. shame to anyone who advocates for the return of PDP and their flag bearers. The future will haunt anyone and everyone who puts down his thumb in print for a PDP flag bearer.

Depends on the location |
This is good news, thumbs up GEJ!. . .It still doesn't mean he's got my support tho! |
^^ Well, i think it's a bit too early to rule out military intervention in this case, the US seem to have toughened their tone ever since the successful evacuation of American citizens. If China and Russia throws in support for military intervention, then it might be the way to go. Although, it has been rightly said already, any actions from the US at this point will be seen as brash, peharps even what Ghadaffi is hoping for in order to draw sympathizers to his cause, this is the main reason why the US has refused to evacuate her citizens through a military aircraft! |
You gotta love the balls, sounds like something only Israel might do! |
A daring rescue operation by Special Forces flew scores of British citizens out of Libya last night as the net closed in on Col Muammar Gaddafi. In a daylight mission, the RAF, Special Air Service and Special Boat Service used two specially equipped Hercules aircraft to snatch Britons from the country. However, 300 oil workers from Britain remained stranded in desert camps last night. The rescue teams, who flew out of bases in Malta, searched an area four times the size of Britain to locate workers before evacuating them back to Valletta in Malta last night. They were given food and water and medical assistance before being taken to hotels to rest. They will begin arriving home today. Within hours of them arriving back to safety, the international community ratcheted up the pressure on the Libyan dictator as the security situation in the country deteriorated. The British embassy in Tripoli was closed and its staff hurriedly evacuated. William Hague, the Foreign Secretary, disclosed that a major international diplomatic offensive against the dictator was starting.

Very horrible stories coming out, many Nigerians were arrested by anti-government armies ("I can't called them protesters because they carry weapons"blah blah blah blah blah bleat! So the US and the western media are to blame for the thick smokes over Libyan skies and the mass graves of fallen Libyan Heroes. Superpowers my foot!. .I bet it was the same superpowers that made statements such as ''We will fight till the last bullet'', . ''we will crush protesters house by house till Libya is purged" It's because of rétards like this who have refused to think beyond their noses that the rest of the world will continue to make passive statements and watch while the dictator slaughters his own people. Ghadaffi being a smart man will continue killing in thousands hoping that move will drive NATO's jets flying down his airspace, and that way, he'd be able to scream "they are after the oil, they are after the oil'' and he expects dunderheads like this to be sympathetic to his cause! A C-17 military transport plane with 156 seats was on its way to Italy from Germany and would fly to Tripoli as soon as Libyan authorities gave permissionThey really don't require a permission with a military transport plane. GEJ should sail the NSS ARDU. . .we need to prove to em that we've got the cojones big enough to intimidate Libyan waters. |
This mofo should shut up, he's next in line! |
Yes I'd love to marry one! I want a problem solver at home, not the one who waits till hubby comes back before knowing what to do! |
wrong, why would the current president debate with a governor, what civilized society does that ![]() unless nuhu ribadu himself comes out as a presidental aspirant, then i see no reason why GEJ should debate with him, it is just a waste of time moreover fashola wants to be boasting about his ability and tiunbu is using him
Again, read the entire article, this time, ignore the tittle of the thread!. . . . I would hope you might be able to point out where ''FASHOLA IS ASKING TO DEBATE WITH GEJ". . .as the tittle suggested. I think it's better to always read and digest information wholly before taking a position and making a comment. The dude, from the paragraphs was simply saying. . . . It's a good thing if all presidential aspirants held a debate, as that will specifically give pointers to what individual plans each of them has in place for Nigeria and Nigerians, . . .why should it be wrong to say that? |
Wow the sun is in the sky! Fish swim! Birds fly! Ibo man blazed his binch. . . . . I'm really SURPRISED. . . . . .
love this |
@Beaf Isn't there a difference between "I am asking that all Presidential aspirants hold a televised debate with our party flag bearer" and "I think there ought to be a Presidential debate before general elections, as is done in civilized communities'' The first is a challenge, the second is an opinion. Are you saying Fashola requires a protocol to hold an opinion, especially one that is shared by millions of smart Nigerians? If someone else, let's say some Random professor from some Uni had made the same opinion, would it make any difference? could you focus less on the individuals behind the remarks and more on the substance of the remark itself as well as it's benefits on the entire populace? |
Beaf:Have you actually read the article itself?. . . . I would hope you might be able to point to a specific part where the Governor's statement comes across as stoopid as you claim. The language of the article was not directed to one single individual, the language used was broad and was largely opinionated rather than demanding, the Governor actually made succinct points that everyone should clamor for, i wonder why you find this such a big problem. "This is what is done by universities like Harvard, Cambridge, Oxford, and others for prime ministerial, gubernatorial, and presidential elections in the two oldest democracies in the west. I didn't expect that we will be going to an election and at least there would not be a debate held in each of the six geopolitical zones; three for the vice presidential candidates, three for the presidential candidates in our institutions of higher learning. How much will it cost to organise that and televise it live?"From the quotes above, does it sound like he was challenging GEJ to a debate?. . . .it's as clear as day that the dude was merely speaking without political bias, i wonder why you think this is stoopid. Does it infer that anyone and everyone who thinks a presidential debate is a good thing for democracy and expresses his views along that line, is considered stoopid by your own standards? |
@Beaf Would you be more supportive if Ribadu had called for the debate in the place of Fashola? Is your grouse about the individual calling for the debate or the idea of a the debate itself? |
Isn't AD the same as ACN? ![]() |
bump |
I honestly can't believe my eyes at the sorts of arguments @Beaf is bringing up on this thread! Shouldn't a debate be a good thing?. . .I bet if Fashola had blindly praised Jonathan's governance, his progenies lurking around here wouldn't be screaming for the dude to mind his Lagos business. or peharps there really is something we are missing here? why should the President and his grandkids be scared of a debate?. . .ah i get it, our president isn't confident enough to hold his own grounds or argue his own points in the public without necessarily coming across as a man who's IQ deficient! It's also funny how people are so quick to put on political boxing gloves when issues like this are being addressed, asides being a governor, Fahsola is a Nigerian and he's equally affected with the runnings of federal governance, why should he have any less right in asking that Presidential aspirants debate their plans for the country? |
If she were to give him "yansh", then literally she's getting him "on" not "off" her arse. |
Nope, I wouldn't! it's somewhat gayish to even think about it! |
But, I still give kudos to GEJ, he has spoken and he is not a coward
Lmao! erhm. . .yes! Fifa comes to mind, didn't they give your president an ultimatum to reverse his decisions? haha, we all knew what happened. |

, claiming they were Merchinaries coming in to support Qaddafi, Libya is no more safe for now.
