How does trading your old car for a new one work?

Can one brand be traded for another? Like trade in BMW when you want to buy Audi or it must be Audi for Audi?

I'm getting a car finance and the car dealer is quoting 11.9% interest rate. My bank is even worse with a 19.9%. Anyone know's where I can get a cheaper deal for car finance?

When I came to the apartment (2 bed flat but it does not matter as it depends on usage), I called Severn Trent to create a water bill account. After all said and done, I asked for an idea of the cost, the agent asked how many adults, I said 2, she asked if we bath everyday, I said no; she said around £10/month billed twice a year. Six months after, I submitted my meter reading and my first bill came, £75. Another 6 months after, I submitted meter reading and bill was like £90.

For the agent to give me that estimate and it almost tallied, I'm not sure there's anything perculiar we are doing.

Oga stop complaining , £584.08 for the period of 31.03.2023 to 31.03.2024 is mere £48 per month not even up to half of working hours in a day.

I am currently on Tier 4 visa while my husband and children are on dependent visas.After settling down and starting work,my husband got a US Visa to proceed with his doctorate degree programme in the US(an old application).He is now in the US doing the programme.
For now,we are yet to decide on which way to go in terms of settling down after my 1 yr programme. So we are trying to abide by all the rules in case I need to switch to Tier2 in UK.

We hear he must not spend 180days outside UK.
If anyone knows much about this,pls help throw more light as he does not want to default on his current dependent Visa.

What is your exact question?

Do you want to know if it's true or false that spending 180 days outside UK will be defaulting on his visa conditions or you believe it's true but want to know the worse that could happen if he did anyway either now or in the future?

HP if you want to own the car after payment
PCP if you want to return the car after payment.

If you want to own the car after payment and go by the option of PCP, the final payment is usually huge.

The problem with this strategy is that the person would have wasted the three years they could have used to beef up their CV and position themselves in the relevant industry.

According to whose standards is caring job a waste of one's time? Let's give care givers some dignity.

We seek different things in different jobs. Some seek peace of mind that comes with sponsorship knowing that one day the stress will be over and they'll move on, others have made up their mind to go for a second, third and so on masters or live illegally if they don't get sponsorship. Some have partners that will start masters which will in turn give them continued legal stay.

Different situations guide these decisions so care workers should not be crucified. Nothing stops anybody from changing job/career anytime they so desire.

1...She is a medical doctor with more than 5years experience in Nigeria but she is not willing to practice in the UK though she intend to have GMC registration but she prefers it is her last option. So, what long term job can she do in the UK? Any certications she can obtain?? Can she venture into IT or pharmaceuticals?? Note that her background in Nigeria is just medicine no other experience though she has Cambridge A levels certificate (GCE A LEVELS)
2...what is the difference between support worker, carer, healthcare assistants because she intends to get a job as soon as she lands so as to keep body and soul together. Oh she prefers the one without personal care
3...On jobs she can do, can it be remote/hybrid/night shift because she has twin toddlers in which they want to reduce childcare cost

What is her reason for wanting a career change, that will guide the response to give. For instance, no need to advise going into support/care if she wants a remote job because of the children. If it’s because she's experiencing too much horrors, no need for heathcare assistant. If it's to get a job as soon as possible then she may just as well remain in her area of expertise.

For someone that was driving in Nigeria, like how many hours of driving lessons will the person need to pass driving test. Just an average.

Imagine your company did end of year party, took note of the food and drink each person took and deduct the money for the food and drink from your salary at the end of the month claiming it's part of your total package. This is very similar to your thought of deducting accommodation, feeding etc.

What I meant is you could have just asked if it's possible to get a mortgage in your circumstance, not to be looking for someone in your circumstance that have succeeded in getting a mortgage. You also said you need information but didn't say what information you need.

Notice that now that you have stated what info you want, you have gotten responses.

Don't rely on that BCS cert, approach job search as if you don't have the BCS.

On the experience, you can create a home lab, get sample projects online and deal them like real life projects. Craft your CV with your home grown experience (you may have to be strategic and economical with the truth here) and apply for jobs. Next step will then be how to pass interviews.

I understand this part, but I was asking if the fact that I collected loan will have a negative effect on mortgage application, not as part of my monthly expenditures.

Any idea on what the interest rate would be if one decides to collect loan to buy a car. I understand it will be cheaper to get a loan and purchase the car than using car financing deals. I am currently seeing about 9% for the financing deals.

Also, will such loans affect lenders' decision to approve mortgage?

You can pay AA/RAC to conduct vehicle inspection..... Most dealers don't like this type of inspection, because they would tear the vehicle apart ..........

Buying from a dealer, pay using a credit card (your purchase is protected by S75)..... If vehicle is not as described, simply leave your CC company to fight your battles.........

Buying from a private seller ....... Vehicle must be as described (if not, small claims court/ or seller might be nice) .........

Also conduct an MOT history check + HPI check.......

NB : NEVER PAY A DEPOSIT, FOR ANY VEHICLE...... Unless you're 1000% certain to proceed.........

I used to hear that buying is cheaper but I guess things have changed because for an average 3 bedroom mortgage, one needs to be paying like £1,800/month.

But mortgage still has more advantages if it can be afforded because of the equity.

Black market rate.

But you cannot pay with your naira card again.
You may have to look for someone abroad or someone that has a dollar/pounds card to help you pay. Alternatively open a dom account and get a card to pay with.

Virtual dollar card is another alternative.
