Good ride with good looks esp for the S- Nav. Very spacious. Gather its being replaced

Some of the 2016/2017 model that is ULEZ compliant and you only pay £20 as road tax. Fuel efficiency of this is crazy good for this model and difficult to beat for a diesel SUV. Not the fastest off the mark but had more than enough speed for most things. Worth being sure android auto works with the infotainment system.

I gather it's been discontinued but earlier models used same engine with Nissan Qashqai which is a best seller. All said, if getting one, chk the MOT and service history and worth going for one with a low mileage (under 30k preferably)

If your stay is up to a year, get argos card and spread the payment. If not, try PayPal pay-in-3 or klana pay in three.

A friend of mine who's been here four years didn't do anything credit or credit card according to him. He also didn't check his credit score. He needed to do something one time and was required to get a credit card, he got one, checked his score and it was excellent. Thing is I can't tell if he obtained any form of credit along the line without realising it.

We tried to fill a sample form with new details and ticked a different option for the declaration part this morning but another page came up that didn't when he filled the form the last time, but when we got to the IHS payment part it still showed total as 0.0 and we were prompted to continue... now we don't even know where the error was made because obviously it's not even the declaration he earlier made that caused it.

I don't know if it's clear enough, just so confused right now.

5years don waka, we still dey Carry go oo ....... Time really does fly.
Alhamdulillah for his mercies. Just like yesterday we came and now due and successfully applied for ILR.

Like everyone on the Tier 2/Skilled worker route knows, once you have stayed for 5yrs in the country you are eligible to apply for ILR. The application should be successful, all things being equal.

Another beneficial note some may not know is you are eligible to apply 28days before your first issued visa and any day between that and when you eventually got into the UK is deemed as "absence".


This date is one of the most important criteria for application and other documents required below

A. letter from employer confirming one is still required in that role and the salary is as per home office guidance and requirements
B. Ielts/Naric certificate
C. Life in the UK test (not difficult if you use the previous apps shared)
D. Payslip and bank statements
E. Consent forms for all applicants
F. Utility bills
G. Birth certificate for kids on Tier 2 visa
H. Biometric appointment fees £132 - £250 (this can be avoided with certain tricks shared previously)
I. Application fees - £2404 - £3204 - see screenshot below and start saving ooo.
J. Letter from your employer regarding any absence - main applicant ONLY

Also learnt kids born before you obtain ILR are eligible for citizenship after ILR approval so will be updating about that process later on.


All in all a smooth process, though the money it gulped for a family of 3 no allow us celebrate am well.

P.S- declare any speeding point on your licence as this doesn't affect your application as long as it wasn't taken to court.
Avoid any court challenges as this might affect your 5yr eligibility with a 2yr delay

Hello guys, after officially sending my resignation and sighting issues of bullying, harassment and threat by the company, I got this mail from the MD who is the husband of the madam. I have gone through the contract over again and the only clause that talks about 4 weeks notice prior to resignation is if the employee has passed the 3 months probation and I am only 2 months old with the company.

How should I respond?

On the notice period, reply them quoting the signed contract and the provisions therein.

As you are not legally bounded to explain the bully/threats they have subjected you to, I will suggest you do not respond to that, remember anything you say or do can be used against you in the court of law especially as you have not sought proper legal advice.

Also note that issues are handled on individual basis. If company's operating guidelines says feed dog once, that your colleagues fed dogs 3 times and got away with it does not mean you should feed the dog 3 times, the question will be did you breach operating procedure? same with the company's coat, and by the way, can you confirm that those colleagues were not cautioned behind the scene. And telling you that you would be sacked if you break such procedures could come as a way of final verbal warning not threat [maybe bully].

And more importantly, do you have evidence/witnesses for all these allegations so that it does not become your word against theirs. Your colleague that said the company is trying to get rid of you (even though true) can easily deny it if you don't have evidence.

Its not a secret - mortgage interest tax relief is available to buy to let landlords, although it's become much more restricted in the last few years

This is not something to agree upon, it is law.

Just a note to every other person that does not have rental agreement. It's a contract you entered, you should have a copy of the signed contract of agreement, you don't need to have a reason to have it, just have it.

Most times people that don't have it are either compromising it in favour of something, but when issues start to arise, they won't mention why they didn't insist on having it, they will only tell their part of the story.

He didn't also register our deposit neither did he sign and give us any contract/agreement.

Now, since we've left, he is yet to refund our deposit. We've called times severally but didn't pick up, he later blocked my line from calling him. His maintenance guy had notified him that the flat was left in good order.

Kindly advise with which organisation/body I can escalate to, to recover our £775 deposit back. And will I pay for this service? We are based in Liverpool.

Type in Google - my landlord did not protect my rent deposit. You should be able to claim x3 times of the deposit back. You are supposed to have a rental agreement but just give it a try.

In your shoes, I would do this as well, no need to be defensive or try to prove points. They are only seeking validation in areas they think Ghana is better. If you tell them "I agree" one, two, three times, soon they will start to look stupid with such arguments.

Imagine you arguing with a British that power supply is better in Nigeria than UK, silence from the British person will be more painful than arguments.

In India, the more you spend and pay back, the better your credit score. He had the money but thought it was the same thing so he tried his best to spend as much as possible and paid back.
