Kukutente23: It doesn't make sense to support corrupt politicians but label marketers corrupt All corruption in Nigeria starts from the politicians Even the military were taught corruption by the politicians No marketer benefited from the subsidy without the connivance of politicians yet you worship them and condemn marketers How does that make sense You think that everyone supports corrupt politicians. Corruption is corruption. It's a cancer. Whether it's by the politicians, marketers, civil servants or contractors. We are talking about a private sector investor that is helping the nation and corrupt private sector business men that are fighting him and you are bringing politics into it. |

Were we not constantly having fuel scarcity? They were the ones that ripped this nation off through bogus fuel subsidy. Now Dangote has taken the sugar out of their mouth 👄 and they are crying 😭 and fighting back. |

givedemwotowoto: The usual suspects will try to claim credit as usual with something that is bad anywhere else in the world.
For the “upteenth” time let us state again that drop in inflation is as a result of reduced purchasing power of people. If people can’t buy products due to increased poverty and harsh economic environment, inflation will drop. This is not a good thing.
If this happened in the US or any developed country, there will be outrage if the government tries to claim credit for it.
You can’t claim credit on a on an economy that is not growing as it should be. Are you saying that productivity is static? This cannot be supported by the GDP growth rate. What is your definition of an economy that is not growing as it should be bearing in mind where we are coming from? Does empirical evidence not show that at the early stage of the reform if you buy a packet of biscuit today and go back in one week's time the price would have increased? Such is not applicable now. |

What a shame of a country! They didn't mind where he came from. They went for his qualities. If it had been in Nigeria people would have seen only his tribe and religion. They will remind us about how many people that have been appointed from his tribe. Nigeria is the most difficult country to rule. Everything is centered on tribe and religion. Politicians exploit this to their advantage. |

With all due respect sir: Ask the civil servants that were owed 21 months salaries by various states whether they prefer that or now that their salaries are paid on time. Ask the various contractors that were owed so much before now whether they prefer that or now that they are paid timely Ask the foreign airlines that were owed backlog of their remittance with no hope of releasing them before PBAT whether they prefer that or now that the backlog has been cleared. Ask the average traveller what this meant. Ask the citizens all over the country whether they prefer the terrible road or now that there is so much provision of infrastructure by federal and subnationals. Ask the average economist the implications of forward sale of crude oil not yet extracted and now that it doesn't exist. Ask the average economist implications of high and low foreign reserve. Think deeply and you will understand that two of the biggest source of corruption in our economy is the subsidy on fx and petroleum products. This monster 💩 has been defeated. Ask the average parents and students in the university whether they will prefer the old order of uncertainty in the completion of their studies due to lack of funds or the current certainty of completion and gradual repayment of loan after studies. Ask the average economist the implications to the economy and business people when workers and contractors are paid timely. All these happened in two years. You can imagine how it will be in another six years. |

BuharisBoy: The APC government is not 2 years old. It is actually 10 years old and counting. If there is any benchmark of growth or lack of it, it must be measured against the pre-2015 periods. Tinubu and Buhari are the co-owners of the APC and they brought this mess together. When they were busy blaming the 16 years of PDP without separating the golden tenures of Obasanjo and Yar'adua, they never thought they would stay this long and have a mediocre score card. We will also lump them together in their failures! No problem. Therefore APC is 10 years. So let's wait for their 16 years before we compare. |

adioolayi: The same 5% fuel tax he was against years ago, calling other Governors to rally round and protest against it...is the same Fuel Tax that his administration will start implementing by Jan 2026.
Some of his aides have been trying to claim the Tax has been in existence...agree, it has...but now one has implemented it...and from history, he fought against the implementation then. So, why is he hell bent in implementing it now, especially as there are loads of hardships already caused by his two wicked policies of subsidy removal and unification of Naira. We will mark this down. Obi, Atiku, Oseni and members of coalition of annoyed people when they take over must reverse all Tinubu policies that they condemned......fuel subsidy removal, exchange rate subsidy, all taxes etc. If they keep them then we will call them out with what Oseni just brought up. |

free2ryhme: It’s not about being cynical, there’s a real reason for skepticism. Many government agency reports in Nigeria have historically been doctored or tweaked, often showing rosy numbers that don’t reflect what’s actually happening on the ground. So questioning “positive news” isn’t negativity, it’s common sense. Reality on the field often tells a very different story than the official headlines. Then research and tell us the reality. We should query and condemn with facts. This makes us more honest. |

sammyj: Why spend more than you have, if I may ask Mr. Economics professor This is an example of pennywise and pounds foolishness and incompetence. Hahaha..... again consult your economics teacher. Very few budgets all over the world are balanced. If you insist on spending only what you have there will be less capital formation. We are talking about macroeconomics and not personal finance. In budget income and expenditure are projections. I'll stop here. |
Investment › Re: FG Overshoots Debt Service Budget By ₦2.74tn – Budget Office by Vision101(m): 5:42pm On Sep 13, 2025 |
Ofunaofu: Meeting obligations at the cost of economic collapse isn't an achievement, it's a warning sign. Nobody is saying defaulting is the solution, but piling on more debt just to service old debt is not fiscal discipline, it’s economic suicide. You don’t clap for a captain who says we avoided sinking while drilling holes in the ship.
If revenue is collapsing and all you’re doing is borrowing more to stay afloat, that's not managing an economy, it's kicking the can down the road and hoping the next generation pays the price.
Nigeria doesn’t need blind loyalty or applause for survival tactics, we need a real recovery plan, fiscal responsibility, and leadership with foresight. Not more propaganda to excuse economic mismanagement. In all that you said you didn't suggest alternatives nor provide solutions. It was all condemnation. This is what happens when you speak with political bias. You have already called it propaganda. I spoke from economic standpoint and not Nigerian politics of hatred. |

sammyj: I thought Tinubu said they have exceeded their IGR for the year. Why over borrow loan then? This government is a joke Consult your economics teacher. If you meet your revenue projection does that equate to meeting your obligations. You projected 100k as revenue and you met the target but your expenditure is 150k. Wouldn't you borrow? |
Investment › Re: FG Overshoots Debt Service Budget By ₦2.74tn – Budget Office by Vision101(m): 3:58pm On Sep 13, 2025 |
Ofunaofu: How do you overspend by ₦2.74 trillion just on debt service in nine months, yet still earn far less than projected? Tinubu's regime isn't managing an economy, it's digging Nigeria into a deeper debt hole with no plan for recovery.
Obviously, you can't ‘renew hope’ when you're mortgaging the country's future to pay yesterday's bills. This isn't fiscal policy, it's economic catastrophe So you mean that the government should default in their debt obligations. You know very well what it means. You know the signal that it will send to the whole world concerning our economy. I thought that the government should be applauded. Projected revenue fell below projection but the managers of the economy managed to meet all obligations. |
