Timoleon: For what its worth, this observation seems kinda stale...the cbn governor already addressed this topic extensively months ago when it was hot as a topic. As for the airlines, they have been known to cut corners over the years wether forex be available or not. I am of the opinion that the airlines can pull thier resources together in a consortium and buy up or partner with one of the oil well owners, and refine their needed aviation fuel.
Ps, i agree that the state should distance itself from religion...i just feel this particular scenarion here has been addressed months ago and is a case of flogging a dead horse. Are you for real . |

thewife306: Before anyone would ask if he wasn't like this before marriage. No he wasn't. He never cautioned me harshly in private not to talk of in public. When we were newly married he shouts at me in his younger brother's presence. (Why will they give me respect) He did it in the presence of our plumber cos I told him the prices of the items were expensive. Then our househelp. He does it so often that I begin to wonder what point he was trying to prove. To the extent that the lady started losing respect for me and giving me attitude anytime I caution her. That he even told her not to do what I asked her to do. Then the most recent was in church. He was struggling wit our toddler that he fell and I asked him to leave him. He just started shouting and everyone was looking. I really am not happy. And unknown to him, this is reducing my love for him. Cos i cant love someone dat disrespects me. I use to love telling people how wonderful he is but these days I cant. It's affecting my relationship with him. I'm considering embarrassing him back the next time he does it so he knows how it hurts cos he doesn't see anything wrong with it and never apologize. He says he doesn't like hiding his feelings. I ask "even when your words hurt your spouse". I'm worried cos we might be travelling soon and if he embarrases me in front of family members i might lose my temper. I need mature advises here pls. As i do not want to involve 3rd party. When he shouts at you, how do you react ? Do you just act like it's okay or you're not moved ? Your silence might be encouraging him to do more. When next he shouts at you in public, just walk away and ignore him for that period. If you guys are at a function, sit on a different seat. When you two get home, you talk to him about it. I don't think shouting back is the best. But when you give him the silent treatment for a while, he'll get the message. But be honest with yourself. Hope you're not the one provoking him . |

T9ksy: But your brother who has been living in the north since 1971, barely a year after the civil war which saw the devastation the northerners heaped on his fellow ibos is not a zombie?
He has lived all through the religious riots in the same north wherein ibos are the main casualities and yet he did not see fit to remember his homeland. It's only now that the chicken has coome home to roast that he realises that one nigeria is a sham.
In actual fact, your brother up there is the most annoying of all "fake nigerians". So is it wrong for him to live in Kano ? Are there no Hausas/Fulani down South ? You talk as if its just easy to relocate. May be you need to put yourself in other people's shoes. |

hotice01: Those of you supporting the killing of members of this sect are hypocrites! I just pray this doesn't snowball into a hydra headed monster that will be difficult to eradicate. They are playing the victim card, taunting the government to make mistakes such as this so as to gain international support and sympathy, when they go on the offensive, they may be worse than Boko Haram. They know they might be killed and brutalized but they still come out, both old and young. They don't fear death, that makes them even more dangerous. If they decided to go on the offensive by forming a terrorist organization,I fear Boko Haram will be child's play! May God help Nigeria and give our leaders wisdom. Then let Buhari release their leader. But why us he still holding their leader in custody ? He released bokoharam suspects but he keeps this one under lock. But sincerely, I see no reason why El Zakzaky should be in custody |

Out of these twelve tribes, why is Jesus referred with only one, which is Judah out of other Tribes? Jesus come from Judah. He's called a lion of the tribe if Judah because lion is a symbol of strength, courage and majesty. |

coptic: Before you cast aspersions on the US Government, ask yourselves, would I want my own brainchild defeated?
This is no conspiracy theory. I learnt from a friend who was on ground fighting BH day and night for almost a year, that there were times when UN 'copters lower food and armaments for those guys. I have heard several of such gists from different guys in the field in times past, but discarded them as mere conspiracy theories. But those Hillary email revelations helped changed my stance. I learnt from a twitter handle yesterday that while he was a senator, Obama was the only one who voted against the cancelation of Nigeria's debt. It made me wonder if such a person would truly stand for you. . Obama is a bastard !! . I heard something like this long ago but didn't even give it a second thought. Obama hates Nigeria and it has nothing to do with corruption. His administration has been hostile towards us as a nation. I just wish they investigate that silly Clinton. I hope wikileaks reveals the content of that mail. If Buhari is wise, he should engage the services of some foreign mercenaries. |

ceejay4real: Guy you guys should stop dreaming of a Niger Delta Republic ok. Your dream land would just end up like South Sudan where war has become the order of the day! No country survives without at least one majority tribe or group calling the shots and also holding the safety valves of the nation state in check! More over, the south south is too disunited to become a sovereign state. Secondly, even if you guys want to alienate the Igbos out of hate and greed, the Igbo nation (Biafra) must have access to the Sea whether you people like it or not! Port Harcourt and huge Chunk of Rivers State including Bonny Island and Opobo have Igbo ancestry and anthropological descent/ links. So the Igbos are taking those lands including Port Harcourt Metropolis, Onne and Okrika. In fact, the whole Ikwerre Land and much more! So it's better you guys work hands in gloves with us to achieve a solid Biafran nation state instead of a partitioned Biafra because in the long term, a war will break out btw the two Biafras!
But please you guys should not even dream of taking any inch of Igbo land; PH, Asaba, Ikwerre land, Opobo, Bonny Island, Agbor, Kwale etc. We Igbos have the ruggedity to conquer you guys on the Battlefield any day any time as far as we are well armed. So BE WARNED! Biafra has not been achieved and you are already boasting of conquering other lands. You even boast that PH, Onne and Okrika belongs to you guys ? But do you think the average Ikwere or Asaban claim to be Igbo ? Just take a census yourself and you'll find out. No one hates Igbos. I don't know where some of you got such paranoia from. The problem that will arise in Biafra is that some people like you will begin to have such destructive ambition that will at the end destroy everything. You are already planning of how to make Bonny Island, Opobo etc yours. I have no problem with Igbos but you have to check your selfishness. |

trilobite: What is this one saying? Low oil prices is what has caused this current recession, it makes no sense whatsoever to spend hundreds of millions of dollars on exploration .
An exploration that has been funded by obj, good luck yielded nothing. Now he is expecting a miracle. If only you know how much people are making on this stupid venture you'll rethink your support. Leave am. Diversification to him means finding more oil wells in the North. Isn't it the same monoeconomy that is affecting us . |

SmartMugu: All na wash. If they find any type of oil in that area, it must be groundnut oil. Spend the money on something else. How are we diversifying from being dependent on oil by searching for oil in a place it has never been discovered? Nickel was discovered in a closer region, yet no one did anything about it. Instead they are still looking for oil. Keep looking for fishes in deserts and let's see how many you'll end up with. Thank you ! Even with the fact that oil is getting out of fashion, our president is still look for more oil. |

Originalsly: Just my view... in this century there is and always will be glut in the oil market. Technology has made it possible to now extract oil that was not possible in the last century... the US ...which was the biggest buyer is now trying to sell oil. Doesn't mean oil is no longer important... it is not that important. My take on the rush to extract oil in the North is part of a bigger plan... the plan to set the North up with all it requires to be a self sufficient country, then secede and leave 'Nigeria' saddled with the debt.... the reason also why the $30 b loan is sought after without explanation. So looking at the big picture... this makes sense to me... why settle secede and have to depend on 'Nigeria' for oil? That could be the point ! The debts would have to be shared in that case. |

GurlFriend: Today is Saturday, owambe day as it is popularly called, but the happiness of a bride who was getting married at Mountain of Fire and Miracles Ministries (MFM) was almost cut short when she was instructed by MFM church officials to hack off her 'offending' hair.
According to the social media user who was the official photographer at the wedding, the bride had attached human hair weave to her natural hair but she wasn't allowed to go further with the wedding until she cut off the entire thing and also wipe off her make up.
http://www.lailasblog.com/2016/11/mfm-church-officials-force-bride-to-cut.html It's very humiliating. But was she aware of the dos and don'ts ? If she was, then don't blame the church. |
