With all these agitation for biafra I believe the major cause is that 95% of the eiibos protesting and shouting biafra have never witness a very bloody blood shed war, with smelling dead bodies everywhere, children and women die in starvation and hunger, that's why they are shouting for biafra (calling for war) Any one that has ever witness and survive bloody blood shed like that of biafran war, boko haram insurgency and survives it will never wish to witness such again even in his dreams.... I can smell 5 million dead bodies of eiibos littered all over the south east.....

A word is enough for the wise
Which wars have ur ewedu infested owoda collecting generation of yoruba witnessed?

The fight for freedom is a long one. We are going to do it in a civil way. But if need be and violence seems to be the last option, bring it on. Worry more about ur tribe and leave mine alone

This is one the reason i want to propose a referendum because i am very confident that majority of Igbos ,will say yes to Nigeria. You guys(Biafra agitators),ground of agitations is primarily hatred for pmb, which to me will not be enough to convince majority of igbos the need for Biafra.
The percentage of igbo's that will say yes to Nigeria is not up to 10%. I dont like Nnamdi kanu and the way he is going about his actualisation stuff,i have met Massob leader uwazuruike before. His sons are my friends. I dont like his way too. But i will bury all these dislike for any chance of igbos governing themselves. We are republican in nature in igboland and we see all men as equal. We dont bow down to a selected few and keep quiet while they lord it over us and become demi-gods

We don't need this issue to go out hand before we take action. The silence of the Igbo elite may be to our own disadvantage,if continue to use military force to continue to clamp down on their kinsmen.
So u wanted it to be to your own advantage?
Know it that every igbo man is biafran in spirit. You cant deny it or run away from that fact. It keeps haunting anyone who does. Those silent politicians are biafrans. When the time is ripe,it will manifest.

Chairman of the Northern Elders Council, Alhaji Tanko Yakassai, also said that the APC administration would not be able to fulfil the promise on social welfare.
He said, “The APC-led government cannot fulfil it because it will cost a lot of money and it did not work out all the cost. If you want to do something like this, you must have a blueprint on how to achieve it, but the government does have any blueprint.”
The Spokesman for the Northern Elders Forum, Prof. Ango Abdullahi, refused to comment on the issue, saying he had decided to stop commenting on political issues till December.
“So you have to pardon me; no comments from me for now,” he said.
The President of the Arewa Youths Consultative Forum, Alhaji Yerima Shettima, told one of our correspondents on the telephone that he was busy and promised to call back.
He, however, did not call back as of the time of filing this report.

Politics › Re: One Killed As IPOB Members Protest In Onitsha - Vanguard News by vivalavida(m): 7:50pm On Nov 06, 2015
moscow37d:
So recent Biafran protests have got me thinking, but I have been skeptical about airing my views because of perceived reactions.

DISCLAIMER: THESE ARE PERSONAL VIEWS, AND I, IN NO WAY CLAIM SUPREMACY OF KNOWLEDGE. FOR THE "GREYS" WHO THINK I AM TOO YOUNG TO SPEAK OF THIS SUBJECT, PLEASE PERMIT THIS CHILD TO SPEAK, THEN CORRECT HIM IF HE IS WRONG. FOR IGNORANCE CAN ONLY BE KNOWN IF IT IS AIRED, AND CAN ONLY BE CORRECTED IF IT IS KNOWN.

My points are as follows:

1. According to worldometers the median age of Nigeria is 17.8, hence an "average " did not experience the civil war.

2.This is the age statistics of Nigeria as at 2014 is as follows:
0-14 years: 43.2%
15-24 years: 19.3%
25-54 years: 30.5%
55-64 years: 3.9%
65 years and over: 3.1% (indexmundi.com)
In simpler statistics 93% of Nigerians were 5 and below in 1967.

3. According to Wikipedia, youth age range is between 18-35. Hence no present day Nigerian youth saw the civil war.

My first question: since over 90% percent of us neither saw the civil war nor participated actively, and our youth were born 10 years after the war, where is all the hate and agitation from?

4. The major driving force of Biafra is the igboland, but the Biafran map includes states like Cross river, Rivers, Delta, Bayelsa and Akwa Ibom state. This makes Biafra a culturally diverse state. I am igbo and i currently live in Akwa Ibom state, and we share no similarity in custom or language. How then can we live together as "one Biafra" when we can't tolerate the cultural diversity of Nigeria.

5. The Igbo tribe would become the majority tribe in Biafra, while the others who constitute the oil producing states hence the 'rich boys' would become minority. "How can the wealth most especially that from oil be distributed, when the majority is in power and the minority have the resource?"
So therefore, a time may come when the "minority" may decide to be free, because no man wants to live in another man's shadow.

6. Igbos are generally regarded as traders, and the lifeblood of their markets like Onitsha Main market and Ariaria international market is found in Lagos seaport where most of the goods come from. In Biafra, Lagos becomes another country hence tax and import/ export levies would increase drastically and logistics would become more difficult.
The other option is to trade via the Calabar Port, Delta Port or Rivers Port at Port Harcourt, and Onne. These ports are only found in the non-igbo states, hence another potential challenge.

7. What happens to Biafrans that have their livelihood rooted deeply in non biafran states? What happens to the igbos that constitute the majority of Alaba international market?
Would naturalization take place or would they liquidate assets and return to Biafra and start afresh?

8. Finally, the question of rulership. Who rules Biafra?
Currently, most Igbo people especially those in Abia and Imo state are dissatisfied with the condition of their states. They complain of bad government, massive looting, poor infrastructures etc, and they are currently ruled by Igbo governors.
If Biafra is formed who would rule then?
I believe it would be the same people that they complain of, and as you can see the cycle of pain and complaints would continue.

Problems are fixed by inward reflections not outward projections and blame shifting.

PLEASE BEAR WITH ME, FOR A CHILD WHO DID NOT SEE THE WAR HAS SPOKEN
Shut up and sod off if u have nothing to say
Career › Re: Does God Play Any Role In Searching/ Securing Of Jobs. by vivalavida(m): 7:24pm On Nov 05, 2015
johnydon22:
. [b]One could continue to always see reasons why i find some religious beliefs to be disturbing.

We have billions of homeless people in this world, little children dying of hunger and natural devastating disasters killing and destroying as we speak.

The creator of the vast universe is busy ignoring these pressing matters that should have been a number 1 priority for something that allegedly is interested in the activities on earth but No it has no interest in that.

He is busy checking for who to find their keys, who masturbated or who you sleep with or finding some lone unemployed youth a job.

This religious concept of supernatural favour is one i find to be an arrogant, absurd, selfish and greedy idea.

"I probably don't deserve this but i have the favour, that little child probably need and deserve help but he doesn't have a favour then let him die"

It is a concept that gives people the impression that they are more worth than others.

Just take a look at this; An action of providence, chance and sheer normal circumstance that can play out for anybody out there is being dubbed the work of God.

If such is the work of a God then i think with the pressing devastating and dehumanizing issues pressing this planet that deserve more attention being ignored i would say that God has a huge issue of Priority misplacement.

Humans tend to give thanks to deities who are no where to be found for actions and results of human interactions resulting to random providence denying the ones that actually deserve the "thanks" what they rightly deserve in order to channel it to some invisible unfounded deity.

I give no imaginary concept credit for the achievement or failures of mankind or our society.

These like every thing thing out there is not an act of some supernatural deity but this is an event of human societal reactive result.

It is outrageous to think, it is quite hilarious for me watching the type of arrogance, greed and selfishness humans exhibit.

In this egoistic delusion of self exultation, confident moroni_c braggadocio we have prized ourselves more deserving and more important part of the universe.

We assumed up a creator for the universe, countless number of stars, billions of galaxies, trillions of planets, asteroids, nebulas all swirling together in a chaotic dance of universal harmony.

But in a little insignificant dot somewhere in a little insignificant solar system, the creator of this vast universe is busy finding keys, jobs or checking who i get married to.

Religions has never ceased to amuse me with such nonsensical megalomaniac ideas and beliefs.

[color=#DC143C][b]Who told you that the South East is underdeveloped? You guys don't know the actual meaning of development. Development is not by building roads or other infrastructures where its population are prevalently lazy by nature. For me, the South East is developed because of its Labour force and human resources which it supplies to the entire nation and still maintain a pace that can compete with what's obtainable in regions that are economically viable. The only indigenous Automobile industry Nigeria has is in the South East. With no government, the people of the South East have created the two of the largest markets in West Africa. That shows you that the Igbos are capitalist in nature. And again, need I remind you that Anambra is the only 3-city state in the country. WHAT YOU GUYS ALWAYS THINK IS THAT BECAUSE YOU SEE IGBO BUSINESSMEN IN YOUR HOMETOWN OR WHERE YOU LIVE, THEN IT EQUATES TO THE FACT THAT THE SOUTH EAST IS UNREDEEMABLY UNDERDEVELOPED. YOU SEE THE IGBO MAN IN YOUR COMPOUND AS SOMEONE COMING TO SEEK GREENER PASTURE, WHICH IS TOTALLY A VERY INCORRECT PERCEPTION. Many of you don't know the level of competition that exists in the South East. You will be marvelled at the vibrant business activity that goes on even in the remotest village in the South East. It's only normal that any sane man will migrate to a far away region where he thinks there are lesser competition and large purchasing power in order to do his business. Is Nigeria more developed than those Western or Asian countries that do businesses here? It's simple business strategy. It pains me that people can concoct garbage about Igbos in the comfort of their bedroom and publish it as fact, and the mentally lazy ones who can't make simple research will swallow it hook, line and sinker and relay the same garbage in an exaggerated manner, to his neighbour. Thank God I've been to the South East if not I will be making this kind of assumption.

About Biafra, I think the Government escalated this agitation by negligence and show of tyranny. As much as I love this country, I'm afraid that this agitation has gotten to its climax where it can't be negotiated. This is the bitter truth that fellow patriots like me can't come in term with. The FG made this mistake with Boko Haram and look at where they are today. The FG are indirectly radicalizing this pro-Biafran agitators without knowing it. They think they are defending the nation's unity but they're wrong. What they're actually doing is grooming the hatred for Nigeria in the heart of young Igbo Nigerians (who are no longer seeing themselves as Nigerians by the way). This hatred if not curtailed now at its infancy will grow to an extent where it will go violent, and that is the last thing Nigeria needs now. Some Nigerians are so foolish to think that any uprising that starts in Igbo land will be felt only in Igbo land. Use Boko Haram as case study. Nigeria's economy is dwindling today because the government is spending what it hadn't intended to on procuring ammunitions to combat the terrorists and with oil prize dwindling, the coffers where these money are coming out from are not being replenished. And here again we have investors closing their investments due to poor economic planning by this administration.
The Nigerian government should just leave these Biafran activists alone. You can use the police to kill them and stop their protests but you can't use the police to take their agitation from their hearts. What use is it having citizens that hate their country with all their hearts?

You have a point, but I think commissioning of project or taking brief are a little to early mainly cos he is taking his time to understand the situation Nigeria found herself in and it is the smart thing to do, not just getting to office borrow money to start projects or paying salaries. Without understanding that most of the funds might end in the wrong hands, like ghost workers and corrupt gov't official.

GOD Bless Nigeria and everyplace else.
Governors are mini-presidents too. Prior to the nullification of his election, wike had a hands-on approach to gorvenance. Same can be said of El-rufal and Governor Ikpeazu of abia despite that those were new governors coming on board and were facing similar challenges to the Federal government. So that idea of allowing him time to fully grasp the challenges facing the nation is so old-school right now.
Politics › Photojournalism Or Photo-nuisance? by vivalavida(op):
According to wikipedia, photojournalism is a particular form of journalism (the collecting, editing and presenting of news material for publication or broadcast) that employs images to tell a news story. It is usually understood to refer to still images.

Since the inception of the Buhari-led administration, the internet - including blogs and forums - has been inundated with a daily dose of pictures showing the president carrying out his function as the president of the most populous black nation.

It is however pertinent to note that most of these pictures are irrelevant especially in light of the problems the nation currently faces.

If it is not a picture of the president and his cows, it is a picture of how the president was received in another country. In fact, for the first time in our national life, we are aware of a widely celebrated position known as the official photographer of the president (Bayo Omoboriowo). Did I hear you ask celebrated? Yes,he is celebrated. Even his wedding was all over social media courtesy of being the official presidential photographer.

The other day,a picture and a thread was created on this forum with the title what the president face really looks like.

At this stage of our national life and with the current economic impasse that the country is experiencing, I doubt that what we need now are more pictures of the president doing even the most mundane of things like ascending and descending the presidential jet or waving to people.

What we need right now are pictures that will uplift the psyche of Nigerians. Pictures that will motivate and inspire us. Photos showing the president in action, commisioning completed projects, getting briefings at project sites are the kind of pictures we should be seeing henceforth.

Whoever it is that is in charge of the president's PR will do us and him a lot of good by reducing the quantity of unnecessary pictures of the president that floods the internet. What Nigerians elected is a president and not a social media paparazzi loving celebrity. Those pictures right now are becoming a nuisance!

He should climb down from his high horse and soil his hands in other to fend for his family. Even you the lady should have learnt a skill. Bead making, hair dressing, catering and other little skills that can put food on the table. So forget about that your certificate and find something else to do.
