nairalandist: Mr Man, stop making mouth here. Your own brothers in the East kidnapped your dearly beloved Pete Edochie and nothing happened. Must you only condemn kidnappings when its done by other tribes?
I can show you many threads where Fulani herdmen have killed Igbos in the South-East and nothing happened, talkless of kidnapping someone.
I know Olu Falae is a popular figure, but that doesn't change the fact that 2 wrongs don't make a right. If Yoruba youths in Ondo start killing innocent Hausas, then they would causr more damage to lives and property. Those who should be blamed are the Police force. They should know by now that Fulani Herdsmen and Boko Haram are like bread and butter.
Afterall, the police is equipped and well paid, why are they not doing their jobs? close that stinking mouth of yours. if Igbo's kidnap Igbo's,no qualms. but not Hausa Fulani kidnapping someone of Ekwueme's status in south east. it can never happen in ten lifetimes. and as for Fulani's killing Igbo's,bring them up and I will dig out countless links of igbos killing Fulani's herdsmen in the south east. we don't tolerate rubbish from them in our own land. |

Sentiments aside,i dont want to believe yorubas are the cowards people tout them to be. I strongly believe there are plenty ccourageous ones amongst them and i will be proud if those ones can stand up and be counted in a period like this. How can someone in the status of Olu Falae be kidnapped and the whole of southwest still remains calm? Had it been he was kidnapped by his brothers,i will understand this their calm and non-chalant attitude. But he was kidnapped by hausa/fulani herdsmen. Chai!!! In the south east,Ekwueme should be our own version of Olu falae. Hausa/fulani herdsmen cannot, and i repeat, cannot dare kidnap Ekwueme from his fathers compound and peace and tranquility still reings in the east. It is impossicant (i.e if a word like that exists). By now, riots, killings in aba and onitsha will be going on. If fellow igbos kidnap them, ehen, there will be peace and folks will allow security agencies do their work. But hausa/fulani herdmen,Mba. So OPC and all other militant yoruba youth groups, over to you. Stand up for your region. You have a golden chance to pass amessage across to those fulanis who claim to be your master. |

The fact we are rooting for the PDP, doesn't mean we should always follow the same path. In fact it helps to breed trust and independence. What is abnormal, is you and your ilk boarding the same bus every time, even when your intention is to head to Cele, but the bus is plying the Lagos-Badagry expressway. So long as JAGABAN orders you to get on, you will board the bus, no questions asked. That to me is the lunacy of an entire tribe. Gbam!!! |

Asma’u Suleiman, a student of Sir Kashim Ibrahim College of Education, Maiduguri, said her friend who is also a student of the same institution lost her suitor to an IDP girl after four years courtship. “I know my friend does not pay much attention to him whenever he raised the issue of marriage, but it was too harsh of him to have abandoned her for the IDP. I was told that the IDP girl used to visit him on campus, cook for him and wash his clothes. The next thing we heard was that they got married,” she said.
Your friend really deserved what she got
Marte had accompanied a friend to an IDP camp, where he met a girl. “She is beautiful and the smile on her face attracted me and we got talking. In three weeks, we got married and without stress.
I envy the way this people marry without stress. Choi!!! |

opal4real: Can Brazil be compared to Europe n America in the 18-19th century? Not until the late 70s n 80s Brazil was way behind Nigeria.
Also Esan Da Rocha had only a Son when he returned to Nigeria as freed slave. He was a poor man who lives in a wooden house close to beach. He suddenly became rich after the death of the wife Angelica who died in a controversial circumstance. His son(candido) later became mega rich after d mysterious disappearance of his father(esan) and candido gave birth to all his kids in Nigeria. The surviving son of candido da Rocha later moved to Ghana which was poorer than Nigeria for reasons best known to him. The daughters remained here and were married to different families. blood money things the father used his wife for rituals and became rich son now used his dad for a higher form of ritual and became richer. the money was spent on owambe. only that ADRAO school is a reminder of their existence. that is why they are yolobas |

I heard these two songs on beat fm one night almost a month ago and immediately downloaded them. They are both mind blowing songs devoid of the dirty lyrics u find in Nigerian music. They both tell the same story. young men embarking on a journey to the city in search of a better life. I will give it to darey.i put this song on repeat for weeks. I dont play a song so often so that i wont stop liking it that much. But pray for me was an exception. I played and played and played it all over again Why? The soweto choir and his infusion of his native yoruba actually blew me away.
NB: i am igbo and i didnt even understand the yoruba.

huangcheng: UPDATE: It has been peaceful since last night, we couldn't sleep at our stores yesterday unfortunately cos the army and police chased us out promising to keep the market safe throughout the night. Thank God they kept their promise. Thank you @NGArmy and @NGPolice
Today has been an Agbero-free day at Alaba International Market, not a single Agbero could cross Alaba today following the assault we mounted on them yesterday. Although we had low turnout, the few of our customers who were able to come today were very happy with our service, at least they're assured nobody will extort them on their way out.
We urge all lovers of justice to support our agitation to eradicate these unscrupulous elements from our markets. These lazy, never-do-well nonentities don't care if you’re Yoruba, Igbo or Hausa, they extort everyone. They're simply a nuisance to the society and must be eradicated by any means necessary.
Thank you all for your support. Thanks for the update Nwanne |

Home now. Phew!!! Yoruba agberos where the crux of the matter. They even levy hawkers, customers and importers. Igbo traders got tired of the whole shit and chased them outta the market and from the roads.
I have gone through this thread i created and most of the south west commenters dissapoint me. It is so sad that you lots see nothing wrong in the agberos you are breeding in your region. One even went as far as stating that they are the ever ready foot soldiers of the yoruba tribe. Meaning that they are not in any way different from the almajiris u have up north.
It is high time yoruba elders re-orientate their youths. Awolowo free education policy really caused all these. It has made you guys lazy and want everything for free. I have never seen able bodied youths standing on the road with phony uniforms, cane in hands and extorting money from drivers in the south east. Agberos in the east end only in motor parks and they are regulated. But here,it is a part of life. It is a big shame. No sane yoruba person should defend this
And inasmuch as you guys hate the igbos, the sad reality is that we will always be in your faces. We wanted to opt out,you connived with your northern lords to drag us back in. So get used to seeing us.
The area is quiet now. Make i watch man united jare. #Martialllll |
