They struggle to keep the Law that was nailed to the cross. The fact they struggle so much just proves that Christ death was so necessary! cheesy

Worse thing is they can't even keep it
ayo4dworld:
I know you will pay dearly for this. Because it is something bad to mislead people from the truth. Never you twist the word of God to prove your point.

Revelation 22:18-19King James Version (KJV)

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

What do you have to say concerning this

Revelation 22:18-19King James Version (KJV)

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

Many Christians struggles to pay tithe that they need more encouragement to continue to pay tithe. Now you are even complicating matters to prove them right of not paying tithe.

Malachi 3:8-12King James Version (KJV)

8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings.

9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation.

10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it.

11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.

12 And all nations shall call you blessed: for ye shall be a delightsome land, saith the Lord of hosts.

The bible say God will rebuke devourers for our sake if we pay our tithes, and also cause the windows of heaven open unto us. Never let people miss this beautiful covenant blessings.

You must be part of the people that only see the New testament as bible alone, which is very wrong. If you don't have any word to say to encourage the children of God, it's better you keep calm than turning people away from the truth with your posts. I am very sure one or two might have been conviced with this twisted lesson of yours.

The Biblical Basis for This Public Rebuke

_______

.

It is amazing to me how few Christians know their Bible regarding the topic of public rebuke and censure of brethren in sin—and especially that of ministers in error. After all, there are copious Scriptures on the topic throughout both the Old and New Testaments. The apostle Paul in particular detailed this topic within his epistles. Christians read these passages everyday… so why have not more believers contemplated their significance and application within the modern Church?

In fact, surprisingly, many will often will attack those who are attempting to apply these Scriptures to a specific situation which certainly calls for it. Labeling them as “critics” or “spreaders of strife,” such people will misapply the principles of public censure and rebuke against to those who are righteous… in DEFENSE of the ones in error. This is an obviously bizarre twist of both Scripture and circumstances, I know… but I have seen it done time and time again. Such twisted behavior is especially prevalent whenever a “popular” or charismatic minister is the topic of the public rebuke—and/or when people’s own agendas and “hero worship” cloud their good sense and proper judgment.

On the other hand, it is not surprising at all that believers are “in the dark on this topic” because many ministers teach doctrines convenient to their own agendas, and prefer to avoid teaching believers truths that might be applied against them. Never mind the fact that the honest pastor would actually have fewer problems in his/her church if they properly taught on the subject of Church discipline and public accountability of all believers—including preachers. Never mind the fact that such teaching is critical for the spiritual growth of believers—and inoculation of the church against both heresy and the “wolves in sheep’s clothing” who are often prowling for new victims.

Luke 23:11 (ESV)
11 And Herod with his soldiers treated him with contempt and mocked him. Then, arraying him in splendid clothing, he sent him back to Pilate

Matthew 27:28 (ESV)
28 And they stripped him and put a scarlet robe on him,

Mark 15: 17 (ESV)
17 And they clothed him in a purple cloak, and twisting together a crown of thorns, they put it on him
.

Whether they shared the clothes for memorabilia or to gain sell them off, those garment/robe was not His'. The fact that they did this on a bloodied garment suggests its high value

Shdemidemi,
You nailed it!
It is all about swimming in immortality in a corruptible flesh and passing world. That's why mbaemeka a Christ Embassy certified hooligan shamelessly believes Jesus Christ need to prostrate Himself before him and beg for permission before taking him home.

1 Corinthians 15:19 (KJV)
If in this life only we have hope in Christ, we are of all men most miserable.

Look at the above verse and think like Sadducees who never believed in resurrection. In that case, ALL our hope in Christ would be in this world. Paul says if that was the case, Christians would be the MOST miserable meaning their PRESENT experience on earth was no better than anybody else; in fact it was worse. If Christians were meant to be filthy rich and disease free not to mention happy, he would be lying in this verse.
shdemidemi:

I'd be interested in whether the man reversed himself in this book, did he ever teach or prescribe what he is against?

I like the was prosperity myth busters are caricatured as anti-givers. It is far much easier to malign anyone who is against supporting the church for obvious reasons; spreading the gospel is costly.

Christianity Etc › Re: Are You Guilty Of Practising Mysticism? by vooks: 6:47am On Oct 20, 2014
Winsomex,
I fully agree with this statement.
Where it gets hazy is when mysticism is stretched to include biblical practices such as fasting and prayer and some spiritual gifts. That's why I earlier said that the acts of mysticism and the product MUST be subjected to the revealed Word of God.

Personally, believers with subjective encounters such as 'revelation' take great offense when I charge them to subject these to scriptures. There is even a dichotomy; 'head knowledge' vs Rhema. Religions/sects such as LDS have been born out of failure to subject experiences to scriptures

WinsomeX:
Biblical truths should be learnt via objective studies into scriptures.
God's Spirit who authored it, is ever near to guide us into all truths. We do not need subjective experience or a certain word from the Lord to know biblical truth. They are open to us if we are studios and pray
erful enough in our study. I do not deny the fact that God can reward such studious endeavors with certain subjective experiences but it will not be the norm. And even when they happen, they cannot supercede the authority of scripture and our duty is not to go looking for them.

I still will like to hear the opinions of leading Pentecostals on this forum in this matter. I hope Bidam, who has written a bit on pentecostalism here, will honor the invitation; and Image123, along with others.

Cheers.

You are reading mysticism into Christianity to justify your misadventures. No different from Satanists who have perfected the art

What is mysticism?

The New Testament has no layers, all have equal access to God. We only had apostles because they were witnesses of the resurrection of Christ a fundamental tenet of the Christian Faith
plaetton:
According to scripture, Jesus practised mysticism.
Praying to a nonphysical deity is mystical.
Baptism is a mystical practice.
Fasting is a mystical practice.
Communion is a mystical practice.
Praying at any alter is mystical practice.
Paying tithe is a mystical practice.
Singing hosanna is a mystical practice.

Every religion has an outer layer for the masses, and an inner mystical layer for the priesthood.

Jesus even said" for the masses I will give the parables (bones to pick), for they will never understand, and for you my disciples, I will reveal the secrets( the meat).
Christianity Etc › Re: Are You Guilty Of Practising Mysticism? by vooks: 6:05pm On Oct 19, 2014
It is difficult to draw a clear line between mysticism and any religion. My take is to stick to scriptures as much as possible and challenge ANY PRACTICE whether it lines up with God's Word

What happened to this Hagin? Was he trying to correct his errors like Derek Prince and his submission to authority heresy?
I can't believe this is Hagin's work

Candour:
Hear Hagin on the mathematics of starting 'sowing' with $1

"At the time of this writing, the man with the most financial wealth in the world is considered to be Bill Gates of Microsoft; his net worth is estimated to be as much as $85 billion. So a person for whom the hundredfold return worked as described above would have 1,176 times more money than Bill Gates!

If the hundredfold return worked literally and mathematically for everyone who gave money in an offering, we would have Christians walking around with not billions or trillions of dollars, but quadrillions of dollars!"

At least Hagin; their hero said this not me. Those who use Bill Gates, Warren Buffet and others to point out the lie of this 'gospel' are accused of being carnal. I hope they'll be able to describe Hagin in similar terms.

Those that will be wise will be wise.

WOF fanatics are pressed to explain the glaring inconsistencies between what they teach and reality mainly that no Christian is either disease-free nor immune from poverty or that Christians generally are no better that non-Christians on these two parameters. It doesn't matter whether you are talking of individual Christians, churches or 'Christian' nations, poverty and sickness is a harsh reality you can't bury your brains away from regardless of the amount of rhema you can distill from Genesis to Revelation and your faith notwithstanding.

The biggest fraud is the excuses paraded to explain away the inconsistencies. A broke and sick and dying Christian is still 'rich' and 'in health' and the Word of God is not voided by the experience. The 'Word of God' here is nothing more than traditions of men in which they have invested heavily financially, emotionally and spiritually.

It helps to aks WHEN these teachings were introduced into the body of Christ. It also helps to aks what was believed BEFORE the teachings were sneaked in. It is the height of arrogance to purport to know more than the collective revelation of all Christians who lived before the doctrine was first introduced.

God heals and prospers whenever, wherever and whoever He wills and we can't talk Him down using His word and order him around like He was some sort of character in a video game like Temple Run. This is not a position of faithlessness but humility.

The only reason the adherents cling to these beliefs is because they can't entertain men they have invested so much into, men they trust being wrong.

Negros comparing this to locking doors are missing the point; what is this risk the men of goD are exposed to that the rest of the congregation are not? It is subtle programming to portray them as more important that the rest of the fools. It is carnal 'sanctification', setting themselves apart

The idea that since Melchizedek met Abraham with bread and wine and Jesus offered the same means they are one and the same person is tenuous; bread and wine was a simple refreshment for the journey because it lasted the longest

Deut 23:3-4 (ESV)
3 “No Ammonite or Moabite may enter the assembly of the Lord. Even to the tenth generation, none of them may enter the assembly of the Lord forever, 4 because they did not meet you with bread and with water on the way,

Nehemiah 13:1-3 (ESV)
1 On that day they read from the Book of Moses in the hearing of the people. And in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever enter the assembly of God, 2 for they did not meet the people of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them—yet our God turned the curse into a blessing. 3 As soon as the people heard the law, they separated from Israel all those of foreign descent.

And Deut 2:29 as well. And note the similarity between that and the Last supper has been made hundreds of years before Oyaks was born. He did not receive this by revelation but by studying those before him

To claim that Jesus walked on earth before He was born of Mary is heretical

You want me to take you through why ONLY 66 books make the canon?
The OT was already codified by the time of Christ and even Jesus alluded to this.
The NT. The last book was done in 95-6 AD

Now, the idea that Holy Spirit revealed stuff to latter day believers which was hidden from the Primitive/Early church is catholic-esque. They have no qualms believing that Mary was Assumed even in absence of that from the NT. are you Catholic?

A Christian is as likely to be rich or get rich and prosper materially as the next Budhist/Muslim. Only spiritually does he exceed others. This is why it is reckless to dangle materialism or health to prospective believer or ignorant believers. You set them up for disappointment and then shift the blame by telling them they lack faith,or they are actually prosperous only that somewhat the prosperity has been released in the spiritual realm and it will manifest in due time and such other retarded excuses

You do not know what victory over death is and you wouldn't ask. You would create an idea in your head and say this what so so and so believe and they are wrong yet you would not care to understand what they know or are conscious of that you are not. Only oafs behave that way.

I am tempted to teach you what the bible refers to as victory over death but you would not understand it. Let me give you a little hint hoping you would catch it one day. Hebrews says Christ tasted death ONCE and for all for EVERY MAN. If it is physical death why do people still die and if it is spiritual death why would some people still go to hell? Can flesh and blood inherit the kingdom of God? If not, then how would a man enter into Heaven (a region in the kingdom of God) ? If the man enters with his spirit what happens to the body of the man?

James 2:26 says death is when the spirit leaves the body and Paul calls christian death sleep.

If you had high spiritual IQ you would be ok but the sad thing is that you don't. And it is spiritual IQ one needs to discern spiritual things. (I hope this doesn't pass you by)
